Have been wanting to try this place -- ordered the pork shoulder, pulled pork sandwich and turkey breast combo ... all were very good! They have a good selection of sides as well ... we tried the potato salad with a mustardy taste, mac and cheese, which was very creamy, and the coleslaw, which was okay. They have a barbecue sauce was good, with just enough spice. They have a space inside the Food Hall with plenty of seating inside and in the beer garden outside. Will definitely be back. read more

I drove to the site following navigation and it took me to Greenleaf and Philadelphia but I didn't find it! I parked and began walking to the location -still I didn't see it, so I decided to go into the Nixon Hall/ Whittier Food Hall and in the back corner is where I finally locaed it!!! I remember eating at the Nixon and it was a welcoming place, the floor plan is changed for an assortment of food and drink locations. Pit and Bull offers a variety of bbq and side dishes. I ordered the two meat platter with potatoe salad and mac n cheese, it's$39 , not cheap but so worth the money. The Mac n Cheese is so yummy, covered with creamy cheese; the potaoe salad is also good. The Brisket and Ribs are smoky, tender, and moist. Our platter came with brisket, pulled pork, and ribs (they were sold out of sausage and turkey) so we were told they would add more portions to meats served and got 4 sides two baked beans and two mac and cheese. Brisket and pulled pork were very good. Didn't try the ribs but hubby said they were good! Mac and cheese was yummy and so were the beans needed a little more chorizo flavor. Got there at 6 on a Saturday night. Its located inside a popular brewery. They were out of everything but their sides.

The Brisket is King here and it so juicy and tender it melts in your mouth. The turkey is also to die for and is moist which to me is perfectly cooked. I love when they have their hot sausage special and fried chicken, both are to die for. The elotes, mac, and potato salad are all very tasty sides. I didn't mind waiting as this place is located inside Whittier brewing co (the Nixon plaza/ building). Plenty of seating and options to grab a glass of beer or wine. Located in uptown Whittier in the building directly across Starbucks. There is plenty of parking, but some spots have meters. Make sure to have change handy so you don't risk getting a ticket. Overall, I highly recommend checking this place out especially if you miss Chris and Pitts. The prices are reasonable and the food is great. They also do catering for any occasion. I'm a Mac n Cheese girly so of course I ordered the Pit Mac with Beef Brisket on top. The meat was cooked perfectly and was smothered with a smoky BBQ sauce. My favorite part was the Mac n cheese tho! They use actual cheese and top it off with bread crumbs so there's a nice crunchy layer on top. I ordered a side of fries and was surprised by how good they actually are. They're crispy and taste like a less greasy version of McDonald's fries! The brewery gets extremely packed during the weekends but the workers are always very efficient and prompt. They get your food out within 15 minutes. We got the half pound plate $95 1/2 1b of all meats & 4 sides. Opens 12:00 Sunday, we got here 12:30 and they were out of Sausage. We asked for more Brisket instead. It is about $17 for a beef brisket sandwich that comes in a brioche bun, with delicious slaw and spicy and sweet pickles and a side of fries. My partner tried the pulled pork sandwich and she absolutely loved it as well! Went here for Sunday brunch and actually arrived "early" before they sold out. In previous occasions we'd see them pack up for the night because they would be sold out! Anyway, so happy to see more dining options at Whittier Brewing. Service was great and fast. We probably waiting about 5-10 minutes for our food to be ready, and we were enjoying beers while doing so. The food looked great and smelled so good. We had the brisket chilaquiles (they only have red sauce and scrambled eggs over them) which were $21. I didn't care much about the sauce and the "tortilla chips" of the chilaquiles, but the brisket was so soft, like fall-apart-in-your-mouth soft. And with the BBQ sauce tasted so much better. The sides ($6 each) we chose were baked beans and the esquite. They were both good but definitely had a kick to them. We could only eat a little of the sides because our mouths would be on fire. The esquite has jalapeño mayo and the chilaquiles also had picked jalapeños which also gave it a kick. We've also tried to brisket sandwich ($17) with the potato salad side and was amazing. Next time we're trying the pulled pork sandwich and their meats by the pound. read more
