People chose Cleo Coffee as the Gayest and Greatest Readers Choice Award, along with the other business Cleo Roasting Co. The best time to come by is commute hours and Sunday afternoon. I could usually find space to sit and park. I usually buy the freshest roasted beans and ask them to grind them for me. So, I can take them home to brew at my house. We ordered the Mazapán cold brew, the Banana Latte, and two breakfast tacos. The drinks were AMAZING--both flavorful without being overly sweet, and the Mazapán cold brew especially stood out. The breakfast tacos were also really good and the perfect quick bite with coffee. Everything came out quickly and the drive-thru experience was smooth. We'll definitely be back on weekends or days off. My only wish is that they opened earlier since I pass by on my way to work and they open at 8 AM. Overall, such a great first visit. For my flight I picked: The Horchata Latte which was my favorite of the flight! It has a great horchata flavor, light cinnamon, creamy and all without being overly sweet. The Banana Latte was my second favorite in terms of flavor. I wasn't a big fan of the chunky texture from the smashed banana (not something I enjoy in coffee in general), but the banana flavor itself wasn't overpowering, which I really liked. The Mazapan Cold Brew was my third favorite. It's a true cold brew topped with a delicious cold foam. Last but not least the Cafe de Olla Cold Brew was a solid and strong cold brew with a creamy finish. While there I ordered the Macadamia Nut Latte just to try which tasted exactly as expected smooth and nutty, but just ok. I also ordered my absolute favorite coffee at Carino Cafe which is the Cortadillo Latte. It was so good the last time that I had to get a large this time! This Carino Coffee Cafe location offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place to relax, study, and socialize. They serve coffee until 4pm then transition into Rabbit's Got the Gun a bar that's open until 2am, which is honestly like experiencing two spots in one. If you read online or ask those in the establishment, they'll tell you the coffee is Bangladeshi-inspired. I'm not going to pretend I know anything about Bangladeshi-inspired coffee, but (at least in my opinion) I do know about good taste. This place has it. When I first came to Moharani about a month ago, I tried the Mango Raja - Moharani's version of the mango matcha latte. This honestly may be one of the best drinks I've ever had anywhere. And it's made with great care. I was at Moharani with a host of friends and I noticed the Mango Raja took the longest to make. When they serve it, the presentation is also top notch with the mango puree on the bottom - I like the puree version because the chunks are tiny and goes well with the drink as opposed to large mango chunks. You'll see it in my picture. The super kind workers there recommended I give the drink a good stir before I drink it. So I did, and oh my goodness. Yes I'll be back for this. But also when I was there, one of my friends ordered the Dhakamisu, which is a tiramisu latte, complete with a ladyfinger with the drink. If you enjoy tiramisu, which I do, this drink can be addicting, and my friend who ordered it, along with several others who messaged me upon seeing I visited Moharani, have similar very complimentary sentiments. So I knew that, before I wrote a review on Moharani, I needed to try the Dhakamisu myself. Today, I did. And yes, it lived up to the hype. That said, because I am very much a mango person, as evidenced by some of my previous reviews, the Mango Raja will likely be my top drink of choice at Moharani. Parking hasn't been problem whenever I've gone - Moharani is part of a plaza. The vibes are also super laid-back and chill with plenty of seating tables and also a few tables outside. Service is super friendly. And if you have any questions, they are more than willing to answer. I'm a big fan! This place is top notch in my book and well worth the trip. The place was severely understaffed for a Saturday morning. I went there to meet with a friend, and we were done meeting by the time we got our drinks. I ended up asking for it in a to-go cup and the presentation was underwhelming at that point, to say the least. Can you imagine waiting almost an hour for a coffee? No thank you. The smoothie hit the spot after a walk on a warm spring Houston day. The croissants were both as good as they looked. Those who know me know I love my pastries and am critical of them. These are absolutely a must if you're on campus. These croissants are nice and crispy on the outside while being buttery and plush on the inside.
