Meh is all I could think of as we drove away. This place has some positives but also a few negatives that sadly REALLY IMPACT the experience.
Negatives: The hostess, food ok
When we first walked in a nice young lady told us we would be seated right away, she just had to clean off a table really quick. She disappeared and a little later we saw her waiting tables. More people started coming in and a young man showed up and I could tell he really had no idea what was going on he just wanted to be helpful, then he went on to say he had no idea what he was doing but he would try to help. After awhile longer another dark haired girl came up, who after a moment I could tell was clearly the real hostess, looked at an iPad and started telling everyone in an extremely annoyed voice that they were told it would be 15 minutes so it would still be longer. I never asked her a question or spoke to her so I did not appreciate getting her attitude thrown at me. Once seated I realized the nice blonde we encountered on arrival was our waitress. She continued to be very pleasant the rest of the night.
For the entirety of our meal the hostess hung out in the back by the pick up window talking to the staff back there, not helping but talking. Every time customers walked in she waited a few minutes and loudly stomped through the restaurant past the tables oozing annoyance and a look of "how dare someone try and get seated" look on her face. This was quite distracting as we ate our food.
Positives: Waitress, some food great and some ok
Our waitress was thoughtful enough to make sure she mentioned to us if we ordered quickly she could get ours in before this huge group which we greatly appreciated. She was very accommodating which nice little touches all through the night. Very great waitress.
The Poutine did not let me down!! Seriously I could have just gotten 2 orders of that and been completely happy!! If this place started serving alcohol I would be there every weekend!
The deviled eggs were weird.
I got the grilled cheese and my husband got a burger, we both enjoyed them but honestly we both didn't think they were anything super special.
The fries and sweet potato fries on the other had are AMAZING! My husband NEVER eats his fries, he usually eats maybe 3-4 fries and leaves the rest, he ate every one of them on his plate.
They had a huge wall with bottled soda that you can choose from which is fun and different as well as root beer in kegs. We both got root beer out of the kegs. Too sweet for me but good. I wish I would have had the choice of regular fountain soda because I prefer to drink a decent amount of Diet Coke during dinner. Bottled soda isn't my thing but I can see the appeal.
I got a to-go box and the waitress brought be a little cup with a lid to put my sauce in which I thought was such a nice touch. I have never had a waitress do that so it stood out to me a lot.
The decor is interesting but a little too hipster for me and cluttered. They just seem to be trying too hard, it was a little painful to watch.
In the end I will go back for the Poutine but that is probably the only reason. read more
