I'm a coffee drinker who can't handle caffeine because my body won't cooperate, but I still enjoy the taste! They make a good pour over decaf at this location - tastes like a regular cup, and better than some regular brews. Was not bitter, nor sour. Roast was nice, medium boldness. Went with a splash of oat milk and that was more than satisfactory for me. Indoors is great with a lot of natural lighting and feels cozy because half the cafe is windows, however, this means limited seating inside and no power outlets (you can't install outlets on walls that are window glass). They make up for lack of inside seating - two small tables for two, with an abundance of outdoor seating. There's a nearby fountain. There's adequate shading from the actual structure + outdoor umbrellas for those hot Walnut Creek days. Service is fast, came here Monday morning and it was an all ladies crew playing pop songs that were right up my alley. I enjoyed hanging out here to get some work done. read more

Love the location. The deck, water under the bridge, tables and chairs. When the sun is out it's perfect. But here was my experience walking in this morning: Immediately noticed how dirty the floor was. The area around the front door was not clean and had not been swept. I realize it's a heavy foot trafficked area but there were three staff working this AM and someone needed to grab a broom. Also, my Soy Chai Latte had no taste or texture of soy milk. There was no foam on top. The drink was pure water with some Chai Latte thrown it. My drink cost $4.95. I gave a $1.00 tip. I appreciate the staff who works there. It's not an easy job. Beautiful location, poor management. The coffee is inconsistent in strength and temperature and the higher-ups just make excuses and don't fix the problem, rather they multiply it by hiring the same type of person over and over again without regard for diversity. The only Starbucks staff I've ever seen that's like a sorority nightmare and managers loudly whining in a shrill voice about their personal problems. The dark haired one is a real piece of work. This is hands down my favorite Starbucks in Walnut Creek-maybe even anywhere! What does it for me is the wooden deck surrounded by the small pond and fountains that create the perfect backdrop to your morning latte. I enjoy coming here to work for an hour or so on the deck (pretty good WiFi) for a change of scenery since I WFH. Staff is always super pleasant and they do a great job of keeping customers socially distant and safe. There's a large parking lot, making this an easy place to stop for pick up or to linger for a while. It's located in the Countrywood shopping plaza, making convenient to stop by before or after your errands. Currently only open for outdoor seating, but there is plenty of it. Been to this Starbucks location a couple of times in the past, and I can honestly say that it's one of the most beautiful Starbucks that I've seen in the area. Didn't even know that it was a Starbucks for the longest time because of the setup. It has a very rustic cabin-like build with a beautiful deck and gorgeous patio setup. In the summertime, this Starbucks is the super hangout spot! The deck crosses over a cute little pond and is surrounded by pretty water fountains. It's actually a nice place to sit and relax. Normally, people flock to their beautiful outdoor seating on their deck, but during this time of COVID, it's slim pickins'. Although I adore the scenery, my gripe with this Starbucks location is that it isn't as consistent as the other locations that I frequent. First of all, this location tends to be busy because of where it's located. Secondly, when I've ordered iced drinks in the past, they always seem to come out watery even when I tell them light ice. I usually just ordered another chai because I'm obsessed with Starbucks chai latte. But even when I've ordered my chai latte hot, for some reason, this location doesn't make them super flavorful or very sweet. Aside from that, I really do adore this location for the scenery. If for not for anything else, I'd still check it out again so that I could simply just sit out on their deck and enjoy the sites and sounds of surrounding water fountains. read more

They don't know how to make their own coffee at this location. I asked them to make a specific drink and they gave me watered down coffee with cream and the entire cup filled with ice. I expressed that it wasn't typically made this way and proceeded to show them a photo of the drink I normally receive when I make that order. Instead of just making the correct drink, she argued at me, listed out the ingredients and then proceeded to keep arguing at me so I just left because unfortunately the incompetent moron (acts like the manager but I'm not sure) who is behind the counter is a useless Karen that would rather run her mouth for an hour than make a new drink and I don't have time. This used to be a great Starbucks but pretty sure she will run it into the ground. read more

Unique Starbucks. Outside this location there is a nice pond with a bridge that connects to Starbucks. This location does not have a public restroom due to how small it is. Also tables are limited to find inside. Basically you have to bring your drink outside. The service is outstanding. They will admit it is a small Starbucks with limited tables to sit at. I came here because I was in the area. This is a cazibo you have to park and get your drink. It's in a big shopping center so plenty of parking. They had my phone order right away. I will delete this review if acknowledged by management. This is the only starbucks that I've ever been to that puts a single-use plastic coffee stir stick on every single cup of coffee ordered. Why? This seems incredibly wasteful. Can we please stop this practice? For a year or more, I've had great service here, but I think there may be a new barista not correcting reading orders. Located in the Countrywoood Shopping Center is this SB location. Its between Safeway and McCaulou's. Just look for the brown wooden fence, and you'll see it. Why I like this location: ~ It's surrounded by a pond with ducks. Its like it has a little moat. And on the outskirts are more tables with umbrellas. ~ Unique with it's wooden bridge, fountain, and large patio. A great place to relax on a nice day. ~ No issues with the baristas. Nice and friendly. ~ They make my caramel macchiato just fine every time. Note: ~ There's no drive thru. ~ Only a few small chairs inside, but its better to sit outside anyways. ~ Parking can be a bit crazy in the mornings, and especially on weekends. read more

A quick glance at my reviews will show its no secret that I enjoy visiting different coffee houses. I've been to quite a few in the area, especially Starbucks. Obviously, what a given Starbucks serves is similar, but sometimes the layout can be quite distinctive. Such is the case for the Starbucks at the Countrywood mall. This Starbucks has the most attractive outdoor seating layout I have found in the far East Bay. All done in attractive redwood, it is conical shaped and raised somewhat above the mall floor. You get to it by crossing a small bridge over a tranquil pond that surrounds this Starbucks. The interior is on the smallish side, only a couple tables, but this Starbucks is all about the outdoors. It has a huge wraparound redwood deck, overlooking the pond, with an abundance of tables, comfy cushions and other seating areas. Running water can be constantly heard as you are sipping your coffee. And there is overflow seating nearby off the deck as well. They've done an amazing job on the atmosphere here -- it's like a mini getaway in the middle of Walnut Creek! Of course, during winter's cold, rainy days I would suspect most patrons get their coffee to-go. But on a beautiful spring Saturday afternoon, there were a good number of coffee lovers relaxing outside even as the dinner hour approached. This place shines in the good weather! read more

If the Venti Americano (hot or iced) is your drink, run don't walk, from this location. The venti size of this drink should have four shots of espresso. However, I have ordered the Venti Americano at this location on three different occasions and had it made by three different baristas. Each and every time they made this very simple drink (espresso + water) completely wrong. I am suspecting they use only two shots and fill it up with water. You are basically spending $3.45 for 20 oz of brown water. You might as well move to Flint, Michigan and get it for free. This location is in the middle of a past-its-prime shopping center, but that's no excuse for this Starbucks' employees not to read their barista manual. And it's no excuse since they use a computerized espresso machine!!! Espresso and water, how can you screw that up 100% of the time?!?!?!?! I have been going to the Starbucks for years. I always bringing my dog just to pick up my coffee. Right when I enter an employee I don't recognize, tells me I have to leave. I'm paying $9 for a coffee, it's 90degrees outside. What happen to customer service ?? This is my usual go to Starbucks before heading to work or for a casual visit. Usually they stay busy but are very quick with the drinks. Today, I had a fantastic experience with Gabe. He was ringing me up and I asked for a hot White Mocha which is my preferred drink to choice. He asked if I tried the toasted white mocha which was a holiday drink they had. He asked if I wanted to try it and I said sure! He then recommended a delicious version of a toasted white mocha that was amazing. It had specific add ons but it was tasty. He also said next time to pair it with almond croissant since the two go well together. Overall, a great experience and helpful staff. Here we are again another review of crappy service. Ordered via mobile. Walked in 5 minutes later to 15 other people waiting for orders. Waited a respectful amount of time & asked for my order. Nope not ready. Barristas and food expiditer stayed busy adding completed orders to alredy full shelves. NO one calling out or handing completed orders. More people pile in, a few orders go out. About 12 minutes after my first inquiry I asked about my order. There it sat, getting cold on the crowded shelf. If there was a Starbucks in Hobbiton, this would be it! Always one of my favorite locations - cozy inside (though beware, minimal indoor seating), and absolutely adorable outside with many tables, including an awesome sofa section like the lounge of a swanky bar, and a beautiful water feature that is a playground for duck families. It's easy to forget when you grab your coffee and treats here that you are only minutes away from the hustle & bustle of Downtown Walnut Creek. The service here is always very friendly too, no matter what time of day - they are professionals with smiles, and they know that most customers want to be in and out as quickly as possible. Every morning for the last 6 weeks my little friend Eli ( who is 4 years old) and I have stopped at this Starbucks to get Eli's favorite sausage and egg sandwich. Eli eats the sausage patty with half the English muffin, and I eat the egg and the other half. Today was exceptional service. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a young girl at the mobile pick up area. Then one after the other all the employees greeted me by name, and stated they were glad we were there. If that wasn't enough my sandwich was walked around the counter and handed to me personally. This location also has an amazing deck where you can sit outside (especially during Covid) drink your coffee and stare at the beautiful rocks and waterfall that go under the deck. Location location location. This Starbucks is literally right down the street from work, so even if I'm running low on time, stopping in and heading out to make it to work on time is a cinch. The location of this particular Starbucks is like none I have seen before. It looks less like a chain and more like a small coffee shop in the middle of the country. Even with the green surroundings, and the little bridge over a mini river, the fairy tale is slightly shattered by the loud sounds of the leaf blower every morning. The customer service is usually spot on. Friendly and fast, however they are a fiend for not repeating customer orders back to you. I probably have the most simple order in the world. Vinte blonde roast with a sausage and cheese breakfast sandwich. Not necessary to repeat my order back I understand. But it does show that they are listening. I have witnessed on many occasions someone picking up their cup of coffee and it turns out something was screwed up. There is one man who works here however, who is always on the mark. Whenever my girlfriend sees him behind the counter she sighs with relief. That's because he listens and does not make mistakes. Plus he's extremely friendly to everyone. read more

This is not a Starbucks I go to if I can help it. Although the outdoor area is quite expansive and nice, when you are in the store, you're cramped. The line is almost always to the door since the space is so small, and you can't really tell who is waiting to order, and who is waiting for their drink. I went in this past Saturday, and had an issue w/the barista helping me. I normally order an iced coffee w/both classic syrup and splenda. Often times when I go to a Starbucks that is not my normal locale, they won't write the classic on the cup, because the assumption is that iced coffee is sweetened. However, on bar, they see splenda and think that's it. Because the store was busy, and I didn't want to come back when my drink was wrong, I asked the barista to specifically write classic and splenda on the cup. Her response wasn't very friendly, and instead of writing out my cup, she wanted to have a debate about it. No thanks. They also "forgot" my friend's breakfast sandwich, but I'm pretty sure they gave it to someone else and then forgot. I'll stick to Treat & Main. read more

Just don't expect to find a large selection of pastries, etc. Then again, you're inside of Safeway, so you can go grab half a dozen donuts from the bakery for the price of one of their cookies...
