We went to the Starbucks in Safeway at 7am this morning, but it didn't appear to be open. From Yelp it appears that this one opens at 4:30am. That's hard to believe. That's so early, but we appreciate it being open at 7am as we take off to work. The store was bustling with people. There was no line to order which was good. There were 3 people sitting around enjoying there early morning brew. They were setting out a lot of call ahead drinks when we were there. There we also 3 people waiting for their orders. Ours came out pretty quickly. He ordered a drip coffee and I ordered a sandwich. We've been here before and we'll be back again. I highly recommend this Starbucks. read more

I'm not a coffee snob, generally pretty ok with the coffee and drink options at other Starbucks. But this one...been here for 4 months now and every drink I've had is just horrendous. The coffee, latte always taste burnt, today I tried the lavender chai latte and asked specially with no syrup/sugar added, still the chai tasted like pure syrup with so little lavender scent you have to be a blood hound to detect it, and that's after the barista attempted to remake the drink after my first complaint. After finishing up with the doctor I walked over to order myself a Frappe via the app at this location of Starbucks. While sadly didn't have ethos water available I was able to order a couple spindrift lemon sparking waters (which were delicious) to go along with my frappe. The area in general has quite a bit of seating, some of which is shaded, so it was very comfortable to sit and enjoy my drink. I've worked in environments where stocking and reordering basic supplies is part of daily operations. So I have to ask: how do you run out of Earl Grey tea? I came here specifically to work while having my usual London Fog. Instead, you were completely out of Earl Grey. That meant packing up and driving somewhere else. This is not an exotic ingredient. It is a foundational item in any Starbucks. Running out of it signals a failure in basic inventory management and leadership oversight. And honestly, it feels like this kind of dysfunction is happening constantly at every company in California. Basic tasks aren't being handled. Core responsibilities aren't being monitored. Standards are slipping everywhere. Basic executive functioning of the general public is alarmingly low and it is terrifying. When something this simple can't be managed, you start to wonder what's happening to competence and accountability. It's not "just tea." It's a pattern of lowered expectations in general. Stopped in for a cup of coffee at 7:30pm tonight, so well before their 9 pm closing. Three people behind counter nobody in line. I was never acknowledged, and waited about a minute while all three tried hard not to look my way. I wound up walking away and just sat down at a table to read my book. If Starbucks is ok with me sitting and reading without purchasing anything, that works for me. This Starbucks is in a great spot in terms of where in the city it is but the parking lot can be a nightmare. Just know that you will probably not get a spot right out front and will need to walk. Thank goodness this location is a life saver. This location is across from Whole Foods across the street. I am glad I can grab a drink before I head to Whole Foods. This location is nice. A bit cold when coming inside. A quiet environment with people just studying and less chit chatting. The Baristas that work here are friendly. I get greeted when I come inside and when I leave. This is great service from Starbucks caring for the people. Parking is easy to find a this location. I was able to park closer without walking a long distance. This is based on my most recent visit. Staff handing out drinks/food basically ignores you even if you stand at the counter for five minutes. Today is also free red cup day, and I've never had an issue getting a free cup despite not ordering a fall or holiday drink. So since the expediter was ignoring me, I stood in line to ask the woman at the register if I could have a free cup. She says, "no it has to be a fall or holiday drink." I said, "That's the whole reason I came in today, can I get one anyway?" She says, "We can't just GIVE them away." Isn't that literally what free means? And like I didn't just spend $6 on a coffee? I understand not wanting to work on such a busy day, but that's part of the job. It's also important to be friendly even when stressed. This store has always been my go Starbucks near work. There's 2 other Starbucks near by but I like going to this one. I said no- but my puppies at home would have. She said no problem- she would make sure I had 2 that I could take home when I left. My friends and I visited for 2 hours. Never did we feel rushed. Usually I would not write reviews on establishments like Starbucks. It's no secret that Starbucks is a known commodity within the world of fast food and coffee shops, boasting over 24,000 stores worldwide in over 75 different countries. Nonetheless, having came up with the epiphany that I wanted to start writing reviews for my various food and beverage experiences minutes prior to arriving at this location on this very day, I thought there would be no better place to start than at the quintessential American coffee shop known for its Pumpkin Spice and everything nice. Like many I came to Starbucks with one goal in mind: purchase an overpriced drink in exchange for several hours of free-wifi and a nice working environment that would give me the illusion that I'm using my time productively and getting work done. Upon entrance the first thing that struck me was the temperature. Having just exited the brutal east bay summer weather and entering into seemingly refrigerator-like temperature was quite refreshing, however this feeling wore off quickly. For those who have frequented coffee shops often this should come as no surprise. Many coffee shops are notoriously cold to ensure baristas stay cool and productive in front of the machines they work at which can exert potentially dangerous levels of heat. Now on to the drink itself. As you can see from the photo I purchased a Grande Iced Blueberry Black Iced Tea for a grand total of $3.25. Not bad for Starbucks standards. To avoid the added sugar I skipped out on the liquid cane sugar pumps that usually come with it and added almond milk for my own personal preference. Later on I added a pocket of honey which proved to be a great touch. The result was a light yet tasty refresher that came with just the right amount of sweetness, I presume from the concentrate found in the blend, perfect for sipping on while working. At this price one could say this would be on the cheaper side for Starbucks drinks and a great choice if you don't feel like getting more caffeine in your system in the afternoon. There is a Starbucks in the new Orchards shopping center that just opened at the northwest corner of Oak Grove and Ygnacio Valley. For Starbucks patrons, this location nicely fills a gap. Formerly, once you left downtown Walnut Creek, there were no Starbucks in the Ygnacio Valley corridor. (There was one in the Safeway, but no formal coffee shop). But now a Starbucks is on the main Ygnacio Valley thoroughfare. This Starbucks, only weeks old, has that shiny new feel to it. It's a nice place to hang out, although I was a little disappointed in the amount of inside seating - given the size of the store I would have expected more. However, If the weather's nice there's no problem; there are tables outside and lots of nearby benches in the Orchards. Service was quick, friendly and the coffees were perfectly made. I liked this layout -- several seating options both inside and out. My only complaint was that it took longer than expected to make my latte. Newly opened Starbucks in the Orchards shopping center. Now it is not the only Sb to be in close proximity to a Safeway Sb , but it's a nice one. Plenty of seats and it has a lot of businesses like Mod pizza, Crunch Fitness and Stein Mart nearby. The Starbucks has all the Baked goods and items you find at all the other Sb locations. Lot of nearby parking and a nice walk from Shadelands if your happen to work in the nearby vicinity. read more

TERRIBLE! I waited 20 minutes (no exaggeration) for an americano. When it finally arrived it was disgusting (somehow it had a taste of fake cherry).
