    Rude staff

Mobile orders are great. Came in today to order directly but I noticed the cashier gave me attitude but treated the rest of the customers after me better. I wonder if she's racist since we're the only Asians here. Ordered a matcha coconut and an extra water but the water never came out. People should do their jobs properly without racial bias

This Peet's location could be one of the best. It is located in a wonderful place with a lot of free parking. The area is very nice. They also do coffee pretty well and there are no long lines in the rush hours. There is room for improvement though. The employees are mostly bored with their jobs, the NEVER ask names of their customers (at least in my case the never do). If the management could take care of that small issue, like I said, this location could be one of the beast in the whole East Bay. Hopefully, the management will see my feedback.

ambience is ok and staff who took my order is nice but then very disappointed with the frappe ~ just like drinking ice coffee instead of frappe and where is the caramel and chocolate swirls??? check with staff and she said i mixed them all and blend it??? well if it should be put all over the cup then i expect to have like that just like the picture on the app. i am sorry for giving one star...

Very pleasant environment to hang out a bit.

First time at this location is a positive one. I am normally a Starbucks person, but this Peet's is close to who I am visiting and eating dinner close by for. Banana Walnut Bread is big and has a great taste to it. Fresh and bananay. I forget that Peet's has a pretty good snack options and the size is larger than Starbucks. Nice to have something else for a change. There is only one restroom but it was clear and taken care of. Seems to be plenty of staff. My barista was helpful in what some of the snacks. The music is just the right volume to be heard and still casually talk. The signage outside is best seen driving so something for those of us waking around, it might be good to get something on the north east side of the building. Good size for seating without crowding out those ordering.

I ordered a large caramel macchiato and for $6.25 this was a really expensive cup of milk. My drink is so light and I cannot taste any coffee. I used to like peets more than Starbucks because their drinks taste better and was stronger coffee but I will not be coming back. For this price, the caramel macchiato is only a few shots of coffee, milk and some caramel syrup.

Flies all over their pastries, live and actively crawling!!!! They need a closed pastry case like Starbucks for heaven's sake.

To start, the employee working at the cash register was super friendly and gave great suggestions on drinks and food to order based on how sweet we like things or more coffee for we may want things to be. There isn't really any indoor seating space but they did build out into the parking lot with a few picnic tables and chairs for people to stay and eat their food. While we both really enjoyed the food - both of which were recommended by the employee - the coffee was not good at all. Pro: the avocado toast that we ordered had a curried chickpea salad on top and it had a delicious flavor. That was probably my favorite bite! We also shared half order of the blueberry waffle, and it had a type of granola on top that provided some really great textures. The food certainly impressed me. Con: Both of us felt like the coffee had none of the flavor that it was supposed to have (we both ordered the cardamom maple iced latte with macadamia nut milk) and instead, it just tasted like milk. It didn't even really have a coffee forward flavor. Since this is a coffee shop that was a pretty big disappointment. Overall, we enjoyed the food and service, but would skip the coffee.

If you know, you know. The pastries here are absolutely worth the detour--and honestly, wherever I see a Paris Baguette, I do pull over. That includes locations I've visited in Northern California, North Brunswick, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even the one here in Charlotte down in Pineville. It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. Everything looked fresh, full, and irresistible. The setup inside is easy and efficient. It's self-serve: you grab a tray, line it with parchment, use the tongs, and select whatever catches your eye--from baguettes to cakes to coffee drinks. Checkout was quick, Apple Pay was accepted, and the whole experience felt smooth and well organized. The space was clean, friendly, and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating. Bottom line: Whenever you see a Paris Baguette on your radar, pull over. It's dependable, delicious, and perfect for picking up pastries to share--or to treat yourself. For me, it's one of those rare places that delivers the same quality every single time, no matter the city--and that kind of consistency is something I truly appreciate as a traveler and lifelong foodie.

But, not until 2027! I had signed up for the store app. and decided to hit up their store here in Pleasant Hill, CA for a preview. There were some mixed observations for my 1st visit, which explains my 3 star rating (think a grade of C, C+ or possibly eeking out a B-, idk?). Parking's a snap behind the store in a large lot and free for up to 3 hrs. Upon my arrival to the street facing storefront, I encountered 3 of the 4 entrance doors locked from the outside. Gadzooks! How the heck do you get inside this security zone of a store, lol? Finally entered through the 1 unlocked door after naturally trying all the others first . Once inside, it would've been nice to have been greeted/welcomed by a host or floorperson for those of us unfamiliar with the store concept or the procedure of how you serve yourself. As you walk in, there's cafeteria-like trays, tongs and tray liners to your left. You grab this setup to begin your pastry and goodies selection. Pretty much self-serve from there until you queue up to pay. There's also a self-service ordering kiosk inside and you can order ahead on the Paris Baguette app. Speaking of the app, it pays to install it on your device as doing so entitles you to a free pastry with purchase upon your 1st visit. Anywhere from a $3.99-$5.99 value this is, so nothing to sneeze at. And they send you other freebies & deals through this medium also. Pricing for your basic pastries: Think Starbuck's prices + 15-20% or thereabouts. Not sure how the rewards system works here yet or how it might stack up to the aforementioned Starbuck's program or others? The pastries: Oh so good! Definitely no complaints here. If not for them being a bit on the pricier side, as alluded to already. Warm, flaky & fresh out of the oven. Parisian style. Definite niche appeal outside of your random donut shop or Starbucks' offerings. I did not try any of their different beverage options like coffees, teas, lattes or frappes this visit. No doubt this chain will succeed, as is evidenced by their rapid store growth, "newness" of the brand/concept and customer popularity. My pastry choices were the Pain Au Chocolat and the Pain Aux Raisins. One being the free one with the promotion. 10 out of 10. They also do whole bread loaves, cakes and other confectionaries + special orders. Pretty much a full service bakery, Paris style. And if you're sugar and/or calorie cautious, this bakery will no doubt appear like a mine field, lol. Everything in moderation I guess as the saying goes? It's a winner overall. Subtractions for the Fort Knox-like entrance issues and a lack of customer intro-greeting. It looked very popular inside for an early Saturday morning.
