I had never ordered from this location before as it's too far away to walk to and not worth traveling to for the ambiance like Bankcroft. I mobile ordered and after walking in asked for a couple cup sleeves, only to be rather brusquely told they were "over there" I grabbed a couple and made my way outside. As a note there's very little seating out front, and little to no parking as well. After pulling away it turned out my drink had been made incorrectly with milk instead of being dairy free - which always is so scary because it's a reminder of how dangerous it can be when their baristas don't pay attention, though in this case some of the label was worn off by a printing issue, so that may be what added to their confusion. All in all I don't plan to come back and really wish Starbucks would develop a cup that changes color when it touches dairy, so that at least then they'd catch it when they make a mistake. read more

The Starbucks itself is great. Staff are nice & drinks are consistently good! The Starbucks itself is fine. The problem is a recurring couple who have decided this café is their stage set. They set up shop with their child, film themselves for social media, and chatter away as if they're in a pub rather than a coffee shop. Meanwhile, their son is given free rein to blast cartoons and video games on his phone at full volume, no headphones, no boundaries. He doesn't even stay at their table--he drifts toward other customers who are trying to work, planting himself inches away while his device shrieks. The parents carry on, oblivious, as though disturbing everyone else is part of the entertainment. It seems the manager has even befriended the child, which probably explains why no boundaries are ever imposed. I'm not saying the child himself is bad--but allowing this to go unchecked is ridiculous. When I asked the manager if this kind of thing was normal, I was told it's "quite common" and to be expected. Maybe so--but it's sad to see how little regard some people have for others, and sadder still to watch a child being raised in the middle of it. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience at this location. To recap, I was the second in line for the bear cup drop. I was there for a few hours (way earlier than the employees themselves). I got out of work and lined up with one person ahead of me. There was only two bear cups at this location. Prior to opening the store I saw one employee go and grab one bear cup and put it in the back (leaving one bear cup out front). Once they opened the doors, the person in front of me obviously took the single bear cup up front. When I went to the register to inquire about the one in the back they told me that they didn't have anymore. I told them that I saw them take it from the front and put it in the back and then they switched up and said that it was for "someone else". So basically they lied to me at first and then refused to give me the one in the back. My question is, who is this "someone else"? What gives this "someone else" priority over me and for what reason? I was very polite when confronting them. I was coming from a place of confusion and trying to understand their actions. I'm like what the heck but I was in line and I was even there EARLIER than the employees themselves and coming from my long shift at work. How is it fair for them to cut the line and take the products from customers, ignoring common courtesy and just overall decency? Please help that make sense. The employee (Leslie) checking me out at the register turned to the other employee (Marc) and informed him about me wanting to buy the bear cup and they still refused to let me buy it. When I asked for them to share their store policy and rules regarding employees buying merch on the clock they just stared at me guilty and awkwardly without answering my question. It's like they knew they were doing something wrong but doing it anyways. I also asked for contact information for the store manager but Marc told me that he could only give me corporates number. I don't even know if that is true. Luckily I called back and got ahold of the manager myself (Samantha). So I leave without the bear cup and go to other stores to look for it. I come to find out from other stores that what they did is very against the rules. They are not allowed to take items off the shelf and hide them in the back for later. Some employees at other locations even got in line to get the bear cups themselves in order to be fair to everyone. It's not even about not getting the bear cup because that's silly, it just how I was treated. Also, if the rules were that employees get first dibs on merch then I get it, but that's not the case. They knew what they were doing was wrong and I even told them and yet they still proceeded to do it anyways. Anyways, I had a weird and unfortunate interaction but hopefully they can do better and treat their customers fairly in the future. I spoke to the manager (Samantha) and honestly didn't get anywhere just that she was gonna note it down. I think Samantha should know herself that what they did was wrong because I would think that she trained them. Also, It's not an issue of the workers not knowing the rules, it's the disregard for the rules and the "I don't care" attitude. It's the entitlement of the workers that they can simple cut the line and disregard the customers who patiently waited before them. If you want to be treated fairly, I don't recommend coming to this location. Sorry for the rant but I'm just disappointed on how I was treated and how the situation was handled. Lines can get a bit crowded over the weekends, but it's usual with any Starbucks branches! *** the only complain I have is that they blocked one of the bathrooms and only one bathroom is open, which is not enough and people are always in line! Bought a venti cappuccino and it was filled less than half the cup. Probably a third. You know how it feels when you've taken gulps of a cup you bought, and towards the end when you lift your cup from the table, it feels light? Right from the pickup it already felt like my large cup was at its end. Starbucks tells me in their reply to tell the employee to remake it, which would be more time spent waiting. I've been coming to this Starbucks location ever since they first opened. Conveniently located in between my apartments and the Pleasant Hill BART station, I found myself coming here almost every day and over time being able to get acquainted with pretty much the entire staff before I hop on BART to head to work. Each one of them works hard to get our drinks out to us, even in the middle of the crazy rushes they get! I think the only "downside" (if you'd even call it a downside) is just how popular this particular Starbucks is because of its convenient location, so it can be quite busy at times. The staff is always able to keep everything under control and get the line moving quickly though so don't let that scare you off! I give them props for how well they handle the constant crazy rushes. They always make sure to ask if you want anything else before they assume your drink was the only thing you wanted. That's a huge pet peeve of mine, when I'm ordering somewhere and I'm not finished telling them what I want and they're so quick to send me on my way. As for drinks, the baristas always get my drink correct, and the very very rare times I thought something might have been off, they were always more than happy to "fix" the drink for me and didn't make me feel bad about it or act annoyed - thankful for that haha. I also love that this location has a clover machine! An old employee Matt introduced me to getting a Gold Coast coffee off the Clover, and ever since then I look for a Clover machine inside every Starbucks I go to. Overall, this Starbucks location is perfect! Great location, amazing staff, and awesome and spacious interior. Be nice to the staff and baristas here, people! I love the atmosphere of coffee shops (as you can tell by my reviews!) and enjoy visiting new ones especially. This Starbucks, a couple blocks from the Pleasant Hill BART, seemed to be in an unusual location for this area, not located in the typical small shopping mall. It's on the northwest corner of Treat and Jones, and not being in a shopping mall, the first question has to be: where do I park? There is parallel parking on Treat, and this time I was fortunate to find a spot. But several reviews mentioned a parking garage: there is no parking garage to be seen nearby. So I went hunting for it on foot. The garage entrance is off of Sunne Lane - drive west on Treat (towards 680) past the Starbucks, and it's the first right. It's a small street and easy to miss. Garage entrances are on both sides of the street in the first half block after your right on Sunne. Brand spanking new garage, very nice. This is a great Starbucks. Still has that newish atmosphere since it's only three years old, and is quite large inside with a very generous seating area. In nice weather there is out sightseeing as well, but it was raining today and almost all of the outside seats were removed. I was here 2:30 on a Friday afternoon, which you would think would be a slow time, but there were only a handful of seats left. But no complaints - my PSL was perfectly made, not much of a wait, and inside was a nice blend of understated talking and numerous people interacting with their technology. Seems like a good place if you have homework to do or something that requires concentration. Worth checking out if you're in the area. Just remember: garage parking off of Sunne Lane. read more

I purchased two "Berry Trio" parfaits and two bags of coconut clusters from this Starbucks this morning. When I got to work, I tried one of the yogurts and it tasted mad off. I looked at the expiration date and saw that it expired today but felt like that doesn't exactly explain or warrant the reaction it induced. Within minutes I was sweating, my stomach was gurgling and I was overwhelmed with nausea. I checked the other yogurt and it was expired but that still didn't explain why something that should be safe as of today was making me sicker than a dog. Abiding by my "better safe than sorry" logic, I left the yaaaahb and headed to urgent care to get checked out. So I have passed this Starbucks almost every day and I have never stopped to go inside. There was a Yelp event that happened to be right next door since I was a little early and they were not set up yet I headed over to Starbucks. This location is kind of weird since there doesn't seem like there would be a lot of parking but I found a spot really easily. When I walked inside, the place was much bigger then I thought and very clean. There was a lot of people inside probably due to the yelp event and the store employees all had smiles on their faces and quickly and efficiently helped everyone in the line. CONVENIENT PARKING NOT INCLUDED I drive by this Starbucks every day on my way to work. My "commute" is about 4 miles and I'd probably stop in here if there were a convenient parking lot. I did get a chance to check it out for the first time a couple weeks ago while killing some time before a Yelp Event at Third Workplace, next door. A variety of seating options exist, including a bar-like area with stools, which is where 3 of us ended up sitting. I ordered a double espresso ($1.95) to wake up a little and added some whipped cream for taste. Good stuff! A friendly employee helped me with the order and a second one with the whipped cream, since I asked for it upon receipt of the drinks. Good service all around! read more

Lots of seats and plenty of room to hang out. Perfect for either waiting for the next Bart train or waiting for your spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend. This location is nestled in the Avalon luxurious apartments and right across the street from Renaissance Club Sport. The parking is street parking, but the parking can be tricky because it is a 2 hour limit. There are 2 parking garages next to the Avalon, but I was not sure how long you can park in them. This particular location is very large and you can probably hang out and curl up with a book all day if you did not drive. Great Wi Fi and plenty of patio seating. We're so excited to have this Starbucks at this location. It is very convenient, right at the Avalon Village at Contra Costa Centre next to the Pleasant Hill BART Station. This new Starbucks offers large tables for groups of people, and nice outdoor seating. Great customer service for being a brand new Starbucks! Ive gone to this Starbucks past few weekends. It is located next to pleasant hill Bart and good stop point if going along iron horse trail. It's a good place to study as there are many seats and electrical outlets for computers. There is also some outside seating and many dog owners stop by the store. The bad things about this store is inventory related. Of the 4 times I've been there one time they were out of the vegetarian versions of there sandwiches. Another time they said there expression machine was broken so only drip coffee and teas. I normally always get mocha so this was bummer. Also there is ample free parking but there is time limit.
