I've been going to this Starbucks since opening day. I love the drive-thru, the staff are great, friendly, knowledgeable, and they remember my voice, ask, " the regular this morning?" I miss the dog lady, Merrianne, who made sure my dogs got puppacinos and knows all their names! I send all my hiking friends there for 5 am coffee before we head up the trail. I've gone in to work and have breakfast. Other than parking, it's great--clean and with a steady flow of people coming and going. I don't know if she was having a bad day but working in costumer services myself I don't treat my patients horrible like she did. I've ordered a mint majesty iced before and she said Starbucks doesn't do that, she continued to be rude and tried to rush my order, other orders were wrong and she got my name wrong. Friday afternoon 7/14/17 I ordered a drink online so I can pick up and head back to work before my break was over. I get to the place and see my drink is ready but it's not available to me. The barista needs to hand it to me unless they want me to reach over the counter to grab it. I thought okay I'll grab someones attention quick.. TWO female baristas SAW me waiting and they COMPLETELY ignored me. I know it's a hot day and the drive thru might be busy (because inside was dead) but I mean it's only 2 seconds to hand me my drink. The male barista who was assisting the drive thru customers saw me and approached me. I asked him "So do I have to reach over the counter to grab my drink because those two women saw me and didn't do anything." He apologized and said no we're supposed to hand them to you. You have one job. Make sure your customers get your not-great coffee to specification. Yes, I had a very customized order. Your location was very slow. It was 7pm. I was one of three people in your drive through. I ordered a grande decaf iced americano with heavy cream and 6 stevia in a venti cup, extra ice. My order was repeated back to me in its entirety every time I added an additional specification. When I got to the window I was asked if I said I wanted extra heavy cream. I explained I wanted extra ice. I should have looked at the sticker on my cup after that but I did not. Oopsie! I drank about half of it and started to get palpitations. I looked at my cup and the sticker did not say decaf. I drank half a grande americano, full caffeine. I'm going to be up all night and exhausted tomorrow. It may not seem like a big deal to someone else but it's a really big deal to me. To add insult to injury, I paid for the inconvenience. It seems like the best baristas that can get an order right are only in during the morning. I'm pretty upset. Please, pay closer attention to detailed orders. Your sucky coffee is way overpriced. The least you can do is not give a heart patient caffeine or a diabetic sugar. LISTEN to your customers. Hi Starbucks. Your coffee is great but I just left your location in Pasadena,CA on North Lake and witnessed two African American men in hoodies be asked to leave because they hadn't purchased anything. The place was not full, they were not disruptive. They had been present for at least 45 minutes. Maybe this is a rule you have. However, I find it odd that the Caucasian man sitting next to me with nothing in hand (he actually told me he hadn't made a purchase) was not given the same treatment. I'm disgusted. Only after I approached the manager did anyone approach the other "less threatening gentleman". I get that the actions of one do not equal the beliefs of the many but this left a very bad taste in my mouth. Went to this location Saturday morning and ordered my items . Was asked to pull into a separate food establishment parking lot to wait for my breakfast items(although this establishment specifically has a sign that says no Starbucks parking or vehicle will be towed). No problem I can understand that they're busy but I get home and notice that they had forgotten a sandwich. When I call the location I spoke to someone who had told me twice that I did not order the sandwich. After being placed on hold for the third time he was able to locate my order and agreed the sandwich was forgotten. He stated that I am more then welcome to come back to the location to pick the sandwich up or call the 1-800 number for a refund . Just not worth the hassle. read more

Slowest location in the chain. They don't open the door to the lobby area till 8am so grabbing a mobile order requires you to wait in the drive thru line. Today it took over 10 minutes to wait in line. The location .3 miles away opens their lobby at 5am, the clear winner in the morning when you are going to work and don't have time to waste. read more

Always fast and easy service. Have never had any issues with my order. The staff there seems really nice and always friendly. Hey! With a Starbucks on every corner....this one is a good one! The parking is pretty tight during prime coffee hours; the drive through is insane. However, for a drive through Starbucks, there is plenty of indoor seating with outlets! The baristas were exceptionally friendly and my drink was great. I think it's safe to say that there's little to differentiate one Starbucks from another. The drinks and food between any one tends to be consistent unless you're ordering something complex or highly modified. With that said, what makes this location stand out amongst the many I've visited are the people. The minute this one (I think) went from a Taco Bell turned Fatburger turned Chinese drive through spot to finally find it's footing as a Starbucks I was elated. But once I met the people I fell in love. I love the drinks here but I absolutely adore the staff. Edmud, Bronson, Destiny, Leo, Jeremy, Gabe, Genie, Kelsey, (sorry if I forgot anyone) are simply the best. Like, "How can I start my morning without you and my drink" level of 'best'. They are so friendly, patient, and they even have a great sense of humor. Plus they have the ability to crack jokes and take drink orders which is pretty impressive and there's no sarcasm there. I could go to any nearby Starbucks, but I visit this particular location simply because of the people. This store is the definition that "the people make the place" and all of them together make the place great. I couldn't imagine someone leaving a negative review on the folks here and if someone has, it's safe to say that person is a jerk and there's no Starbucks in the world that can serve something to fix that. Was there yesterday and their employee's attitude was rude. We had issues with the app and he offered no solution you could tell he didn't want to deal with us so he had the girl help us, she was more helpful but again her attitude was like we were being inconvenient even tho NOBODY was in there or in line. Unfortunately a few choice employees can ruin it for the rest. I no longer go to this location since a quick trip on Altadena Drive will get me to the Drive Thru Starubucks on Rosemead. Though i'm seriously considering giving up Starbucks altogether (haven't been in over a month due to the snobby attitude the employees exude). There is one guy that works at this location and he is very unprofessional/ rude. He has literally caused me to stop going to Starbucks for a while. I can tell he is so board and trying to make his coworkers laugh but he cuts me off when I am trying to order and speaks far too loudly. Before I finish ordering my caramel frappucino, I get halfway through the word "frappuccino" when he yells " OK ONE TALL CARAMEL FRAPPUCCINO ANYTHING ELSE?!!!!" He does this for each item I order. It is extremely exaggerated and obviously on purpose. Since this has been happening all year, i'm contacting corporate about it. There are a million coffee places in Altadena/ Pasadena I can spend my money at. If you saw my starbucks rewards, you know they are sorry to lose my business. Some of the other employees are phenomenal but I seem to always catch this A-Hole at the drive thru. The last time it happened I lit him up about. He had some other girl take my money and I never received an apology etc. ARE THE MANAGERS ABLE TO HEAR THEIR EMPLOYEES ON THE SPEAKERS? if not they should look into that. I was happy this opened up not just for the convenience of Drive Thru coffee so close, but because of the jobs it provided Altadena residents. Some of the complaints from other reviewers should be voided. Who cares if they spelled your name right? Do you sit there and gaze at your name while you sip your beverage? I hope not. Also, YES the parking lot is small, which is inconvenient. The point of this Starbucks was to have a Drive Thru which accommodates at least 10 cars. Waited 15mins for a tea and two pastries with no one in line. Wasnt acknowledged by the crew team at all so I decided to go see what the issue was with my order. Aftter walking to the front counter to see what the hold up was with my order they look at us confused like they had no clue what we were talking about and started asking each other about my order. This is the worst Starbucks I've been to. It is consistently SLOW. My experiences have been from going inside and even with three people behind the counter, no one in drive thru, and no one else in line, no one helps you! There's no hustle to fill orders and no urgency to take them in the first place. This last time after finally getting helped, I ordered a blonde roast and after finally receiving it, it was thick and syrupy with little pieces of something floating on top. I got the dregs. How hard is it to get a CARAMEL CREAM FRAP?!!!! I went through the drive thru 3/23 with my sister and she puts my drink down and drives off. I immediately notice that there's no caramel and i figure no biggie until I drink it and it taste like WATER ! So I call, I hate to do this but I was craving this all day at work and to get this water based drink was upsetting. They let me come in for another, which I did before work. Not a fan of leaving 1 star reviews but here we are. I drive up(@ 11:02) to their horseshoe drive thru to find out they close at 11pm. I try to explain that on Yelp their hours are posted as closing at 11:30pm. Before I get out half my sentence someone replies "it's not our fault, it is posted incorrectly and we can't change the time on Yelp." Meanwhile, coffee-less, I'm trapped with the last cars in front of me that were served and not being able to back out of this horseshoe drive-thru without causing possible damage to my rims. It seems that the logical thing would be to put a sign up in the drive-thru indicating that they are closed before they allow others to drive up to the window to say no we're closed. Long story short - they close at 11pm folks. Now I'm going out of my way to avoid going to my local Starbucks. Thanks. read more

If this female employee is reading this review, she will know that I am talking about her. She came to her shift about an hour ago. However, from the beginning of her shift, she joked and laughed at herself for good 30-40 minutes. Are you at the party? Do you regard yourself fun? Your jokes must be pretty bad if you laugh at yourself at the same time. I can understand that people bring positive energy to their job. Also, sometimes you can take it easy. However, this girl just came to work. I thought she ought to be on weed or some other drugs!!! Thankfully, I finished all my work as planned for today. I mean really, Thank God. In customer's aspect, if Starbucks company agrees, she is not an asset to the company. Because of this girl, I am taking one star off. I know it takes only one employee to ruin the business. Starbucks, you are wasting money on her! It is inefficient to have more than five employees during most people's dinnertime. As I went through other Yelper's reviews, the employee like this and some employees here are prone to mistakes and possibly misunderstanding English? The working station is very crowded and some staff runs like headless chickens and doesn't know what to do when the business is slow, it all makes sense. One day my kids and I went to this Starbucks and it was the worst ever Starbucks. The first reason is because my son got a small hot chocolate with whipped cream and 1 to 2 minutes he said it was cold and it had no whipped cream. Secondly, my daughter got a small kids hot chocolate and it was one of the coldest hot chocolates and the whipped cream was terrible. read more

I don't understand the wait times here. I go to other relatively busy and as popular Starbucks locations and this one is by far the WORST. Even when it's not too busy (not during the prime hours), the entire process is ridiculously slow. I went inside once because I didn't want to wait in the drive thru and they were as slow as the drive thru. It's very annoying--especially if I need to get to work there is no way to expedite the process. Both drive thru AND inside is way too slow. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and dismissed the first 5-6 times but it's just enough already. I'm so pissed I'm never coming here again. read more

The location is new, with a nice setup although it feels a little cramped. Street access can be very problematic both for entrance and exit, which makes patronizing the location less appealing. Access/attractiveness is therefore a mixed bag. The staff is very nice, and the stars are largely for their customer oriented attitude. However it is also for the staff that there are only two stars. In the last several days I have ordered five drinks from this location, of which four were incorrect or not pleasing in some considerable manner. Most problematically, I've ordered sugar free items and received sugared syrups. Not a big deal for me, but potentially a HUGE problem for a diabetic individual should they fail to notice. NOT acceptable. In another instance, while in the drive-thru, I ordered a venti ice coffee, SF hazelnut, EZ soy, and a venti ice americano, no room, two splenda inside. When I arrived at the window, they had made a grande size ice coffee, then offered to remake, which is fine. But they had made the ice americano a hot americano, no splenda. When I looked back to point it out, the barrista was gone, and after waiting 20 seconds and saying "excuse me" into the window with no one noticing, we didn't want to hold the line up further. Once I got my order which was hot I didn't drink it till I got home only to realize it wasn't what I ordered. I'm not sure who's drink it was but it for sure wasn't mine.
