I hadn't been to Peet's in years. After my recent visit I question what took me so long. I ordered a caramel macchiato, just the way it came, no added "perks," and it was delicious. The sweetness was on point, it was very creamy, and, most importantly the coffee didn't get lost in the sugar. I found their decaf to be quite wholesome, in other words, I didn't miss the caffeine at all. The cafe itself is very nice, with great seating. The clean outdoor patio definitely drew me in. I stopped by to purchase a 1 lb bag of coffee beans and explicitly requested their House Blend. However, when I got home, I realized they gave me Major Dickason's Blend instead. While Major Dickason is popular for some, it's not what I asked for, and the roast profile is completely different from what I wanted. It's really disappointing to leave with the wrong order after being very specific about what I needed. Pay closer attention to what customers actually order! read more

I love this Peet's Coffee location! Given that it's one of the few locations we have in LA, it always feels like a special treat when I'm in the Pasadena area and always reminds me of a little slice of home. My Horchata Iced Latte is always made to perfection and the staff is always very nice and friendly. Also plenty of parking and you get 90 minutes free with validation. This is my go-to spot when I need a cozy place to relax or get some work done in the area. The location is clean, spacious, and has a chill, welcoming vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a while. The staff here is always friendly and efficient. I ordered a Vanilla Oat Latte, and it was absolutely delicious and smooth, not too sweet, and perfectly balanced. The espresso was rich and bold, and the oat milk gave it a creamy finish without feeling heavy and still giving me the energy I needed. Service, service went well. Nora was amazing! Let's say that of the coffee chains, I had only the Starbucks app on my phone. Which spoke more to the success of their marketing and the convenience of their locations than the actual quality of their drinks. Since the pandemic, I mostly made my own coffee at home. Fast forward to yesterday, when I missed my morning coffee and wandered into Peet's with friends after lunch. I was debating whether to even get coffee when Nora at the register asked to help me. The golden latte caught my eye before I said no, so I asked about it. Nora was extremely friendly and patient with me in explaining and giving recommendations while I remained indecisive but ultimately was convinced to give it a try. And I turned out to like the drink! This is a really nice Peet's! I enjoy their comfy seating inside as well as the ample outdoor seating. I like the ease of order on their app as well as ordering in person, their employees have always been able to answer my dairy questions. They've also always made my drinks so tasty. Parking is tricky here as their parking out back is timed and street parking is limited as well. read more

Oh, how I wish I had a Peet's in my area! I love Peet's coffee (much better than another well-known coffee chain), both the beans and the drinks. I stopped in to pick up some coffee beans as a gift and treated myself to a Golden Protein latte, with 20 g of protein and turmeric/ginger/honey. Way to be healthy, it was delicious! There isn't a Peet's near where I live, so whenever I get to one (like, once or twice a year), it's always a monumental occasion for me. I have a particular ask for my drink, and the employees accommodated my request. They're very nice, the store is clean, the baked good are delish. There is a cute rose garden right outside, make sure to stop and smell the flowers before you leave. I recommend this location. A++ very nice atmosphere and nice employees. read more

A couple days ago I unfortunately had a negative experience at this location even though I had high hopes. I've never seen a barista be so rude as ABBY. I stopped in here to power-up before the Eclipse at the University down the block. It's validated parking--get a validation from Peet's and it's free for X minutes (I don't recall). The coffee was fine but the woman who took my order seemed liked she was so coffeed up and rushing me that it was a stressful situation. I tried to ask here questions about the coffee options like I normally do, but she was in no mood to explain anything--she shut me down and moved on to the next in line after programming the machine to accept my payment after I said "black coffee." There was large line either. Usually the folks that work at Peet's are pleasant--but this woman was the exception. For this reason I may avoid this Peet's. read more

I needed some coffee to warm up before my Saturday morning workout at the gym. Peet's was nearby so I decided to check it out. I was surprised when I pulled into the lot and saw a parking attendant booth and a sign with parking rates - 90 minutes free with validation and $2 each 30 minutes. I thought it was odd since the only other business in this establishment is Einstein Bagels. I can't imagine spending more than 90 minutes at either location. Thankfully, it was early (7 a.m.), and the attendant was not on duty. Upon entering I received a very warm greeting from both employees behind the counter. The place was clean and there were people sitting inside drinking coffee and reading the paper. (There is also a nice patio area with plenty of seating as well.) I ordered a small black coffee and a maple pecan scone. The coffee was rich & bold. It warmed me up and was the perfect pick-me-up before my run. I heated the scone up when I got home. It was fresh & moist. A little more cakey than crumbly. The maple icing on top gave it a hint of sweetness. Peet's has fast, convenient service and consistently delicious coffee. My go to is their espresso, which is 10x more flavorful than local coffee spots (and especially big chains). It's vibrant and wonderfully aromatic even before you get a sip. I would recommend to always order on Peet's mobile app. Ever since I started, I couldn't stop- when you order online you are able to bypass their line and go straight to pick up your freshly made drink. This helps if you're in a rush or just want to save time, especially if you plan on going during peak hours (mornings). I'm a huge fan of Peets coffee. But this location has issues. They don't seem to measure their syrups correctly. They either make them too sweet and I'm talking about the regular pours. Or not sweet enough. When I go to the PEETS on Foothill I never have an issue with this. Here, when I order extra hot I never get it. When I order no foam they always put foam. If they would just pay attention to exactly how the drink is supposed to be made, measurements and all, there wouldn't be a problem. But they don't. Maybe because they're too busy and there isn't enough staff? Then again the last time I was there the barista was on his own frantically making drinks while the manager stood flirting with a new employee. Staff needs to relearn how to make drinks correctly. Follow the measurements and guidelines they are there for a reason. When they are understaffed management needs to step in. If management can't look around and see what's going on with their own store they shouldn't be management. I'm going to take my business to the PEETS on Foothill whenever I can until they get their act together at this location. read more

Five people working the various machines. I'm the only one in line. No one acknowledges me or says good morning or tells me they will be there in a moment to help. I go next my breakfast and come back. No one says sorry for the wait before because why would they. I don't tip, and I'm generally an overtopped. The register person seems to react to that and doesn't say thank you. And when I finally get my $6.50 latte, the person doing drinks is more interested in getting the software on screen right than saying thank you. This Peet's forgot to train for customer service. I've been patronizing Peet's for quite some time. Specifically, the Peet's on Lake + California in Pasadena. The service has been awful as of late, with multiple mishaps with my order and a bad attitude when asked to correct it. From the manager to the staff, the service alone has warranted me to choose to purchase coffee elsewhere. I do not appreciate being whispered about directly to my face as if I'm the one who messed up. I am a paying customer and I expect to be treated with a little more respect. I just had the worst experience at Peet's in Pasadena on Lake at around 2:30 pm today....11-24-24. The person making the drinks had the worst attitude and was very combative and rude. As the customer I questioned (I have the right), how she was making the drink, and she didn't like being questioned. In fact, she said that if I didn't like what she was doing, then I could do her job...WOW! I asked to speak to someone in charge, and she proceeded to tell me that she was the shift lead and there was no one else to speak to. At one point, she threw a temper tantrum and said she didn't need to deal with me, so she gave me her back and walked into the back room. Someone else did come out and tried to find out what was going on, and although she was nice...everything was blame, blame, blame the customer, and excuses....really! In fact, at one point I said "whatever happened to the customer being right". I never, and I repeat I never, complain. I have owned a retail business for 19 years, so I sympathize with anyone who deals with the public. Every customer thinks 'they're special', and it's challenging to deal with so many different personalities. All she had to do was offer to remake the drink, which is standard response anywhere....but she didn't, her ego got in the way and she took it personal, obviously a sign of immaturity. My partner and I go to Peet's several times a week, if not on Lake, on Foothill....in fact, when we're in other cities we go out of our way to find other Peet's locations throughout SoCal...Huntington Beach (unfortunately closed recently) Seal Beach, Costa Mesa, Tustin, and Irvine...etc. I'm a creature of habit, so I order the same drink every time. On Foothill, the cashiers and baristas already know our order...so the drink is often waiting for us right after paying. I'm a believer in gratitude, so I tip at the cashier, and when the drinks are given to me, I tip again. I realize I shouldn't have allowed the woman to upset me, but I did, so before I left the building, I threw my drink and pastry in the trash. Again....I never complain, but writing this review isn't enough. Tomorrow morning I'm going to call corporate, to escalate this up the chain. Even though I intend to call corporate, I'm someone who doesn't like confrontation, so Peet's on Lake, doesn't need to deal with me/us anymore....this bad experience hasn't tainted me against Peet's in general, but it has at that location. read more

I love this Peet's, have gone here for at least 5 years and have always looked forward to many perfectly crafted cappuccinos here. Based on "in-person" patronage, I would give 5 stars for their Baristas alone! This review is solely a corporate jab at ordering a morning Peet's coffee delivery, as advertised on their app, which was a disappointing disaster. I am not angry with my local Peet's or the Door Dash delivery person--they are doing and did their utmost best. I am angry at corporate for not standing by their warm and fuzzy brand standards. If you are going to push delivery (of morning coffee), make sure it works well enough to deliver as promised! It is the first coffee of the day and you are serving a bees nest at 8:30am! My bright idea of ordering delivery to save time before my 9am Zoom work meeting was a fail. The app said my order would arrive at 8:31am. Watch the live delivery. It never even moved. 8:45...nothing. 8:50...nothing. I call Peet's who says it's sitting there, they've done their part, and do not take responsibility for following through on my order. I request a refund, which they readily set in motion. There is nothing else they can do. We won't be back for a long time. The wonderful Door Dash driver still delivers to my door at 9am. I greatly respect them for not giving up. Thank you so much for that! Especially for taking responsibility and following through on my order! My suggestion to corporate Peet's: work out the kinks on your morning coffee delivery. Add to your delivery marketing campaign: "Morning coffee delivered on time or it's free!" Also you can afford to work on your safety seal on the cup. You can do better than a piece of masking tape. read more

Bless their hearts, they really tried. First off, I want to say it was my mistake for trying to make a modification on a busy Sunday morning. Never doing that here again. The mod was, could I get 1 normal iced white mocha, and another iced white mocha with half the syrup (1 pump instead of 2)? This accidentally got rung up as 2 iced white mochas both with 1 pump instead of two and one (with me so far)? I was paying more attention to getting my parking ticket validated than to reading what got rung up on the screen, so probably also my fault. BTW this is, to me, a totally normal modification that the Other Coffee Place does for me no problem all the time, in fact it's less complex here as the medium only gets 2, not 4 pumps for the same size. So what got rung up was what I got - 2 iced white mochas with one pump each. I said no, I wanted one normal and 1 with just 1 pump. The barista was like, I'll remake it. (Me internally -- just add 1 pump? why are you remaking it? while holding on to my 1-pump iced white mocha, but she had already thrown one out so I kept quiet so as to hopefully not make things worse.) A few minutes later: OK here, your iced white mocha with no pumps. Me, out loud now: Wait, I wanted a normal one with two pumps. Not one with nothing in it. She: Yes, there's nothing in this. Me: I know, I wanted one normal iced white mocha with two pumps. And one with one pump (holding up the one that is correct with one pump). She: I'll just remake it (me: wtf? just add two pumps!) Other barista: I'll just add a pump. [Grabs the one-pump mocha I am holding, that was already correct, opens it, adds a pump, hands it back to me] If you are keeping track I now have 1 iced white mocha with 2 pumps (normal, correct), and one basically iced latte with nothing in it, in fact one of the baristas has written "0" on the lid" Me: It's OK, I'll just fix it at home. Got home, realized we only had chocolate syrup (out of white chocolate), gave up and just drank the latte because I had a meeting. This place is directly across the street from a Five Bucks and just next door to Einstein's Bagels. This place beats the local competition hands down. Why? Mel. Mel and her staff go out of there way to prepare a quality product and deliver it with a nice touch. It's a delight to see and have a positive interaction in the service industry. Things have been rough for a while. A lot of people have crappy attitudes. She doesn't. She is a light in all the gloom. So, get yourself a good cup of Joe made by Mel and her people. Finally getting around to write a review for this place. I don't come here too much, it's usually out of my way. But when I do, I have never been disappointed. They make very consistent coffee and mochas. I see this place as being better than their giant competitor, Mr Bucks! This Peet's is crowded most of the time, or should I say always people inside. They have a small parking lot shared with other businesses and it's at a busy intersection. Sometimes there is no place to sit, even outside at the courtyard. Oh yeah, this is the only Peet's I know of that has a shared courtyard. Pretty cool. The benches has statues of children reading. It looks quite scary in the dark. LoL. Anyhow, go and hangout their sometime. You'll probably enjoy it with a cup of java! read more
