I knocked over my (full) drink like a klutz while trying to put the lid back on after adding some milk, and someone who I think works there but wasn't on the clock (he seems like he was just chillin' with a friend) helped me clean up and get my drink remade. the only solace I can take is in the fact my drink was a simple iced coffee and not something super complicated. sorry again for being such a klutz and thank you for being so understanding and helpful! This Starbucks is heaven for the laptoppers. The book readers (anyone still do that? Well, you should.). The "don't bother me, I'm instagramming my mocha choca froofroo"-ers. The his-and-hers latte-lovers. There are loads - LOADS - of two person tables. Seriously, heaven for when you don't want to feel guilty for hogging up a four-person table just for you and your piece of metal. This Starbucks is in a very convenient location, because there is a Japanese grocery market in the same mall (Nijiya), and running trail is very close (Stevens Creek Trail). I sometimes run Stevens Creek trail with friends and have a cup of coffee here after a run. Sometimes I go to Nijiya and grab coffee. Inside is clean and there are a lot of seats. read more

they're always late with mobile orders, people who are in line when i get to the store to pick up my mobile order always get their drinks before me. they work with no sense of urgency at all. and by the time they make my drink my breakfast sandwich. is always cold. the cashier is friendly, the people who make the drinks don't seem to be and get irritated when people ask for their drinks or extra items like straws. on top of it they made my drink wrong today as well as making me late for work since my order took 10 minutes longer than expected. read more

The second drink in a row I've ordered that was incorrect! I ordered a Cold Brew w/Dark Chocolate foam. I received a mocha with cocoa powder spread over the top. It was too much sugar for me so I had to throw it away. Not to mention a chicken protein box that was not initially given to me with my drink. I had not known that there was a Starbucks here at all until the Powermat app said that there was a Starbucks located here. This location as well as the two other businesses located next door used to be a bank. The bank has now moved a few miles east of this location to Sunnyvale. Great service and the drinks are made pretty quickly. The only downside is that there is there is a wait for the restroom at times. Maybe the management didn't realize about the problems with the restroom. Glad that I went when I did and that there was no wait time. read more

Came here 2 weeks ago with my aunt and my cousin. the dude that works there is unprofessional, rude, and mistreats customers. he thinks he's cool but he's really weird and seems to act poorly towards customers. he also says "Hi" to customers as soon as they walk in which is kind of weird and invasive the way he does it. he hardly is respectful and tries to find ways to treat people poorly. anyway, moreover they put way too much ice in the drink and they almost rip you off here. the location is also pretty sketchy and it didnt even seem open to me. read more

This Starbucks is on the way to work and they've seen a lot of business from me in the past five years I've commuted to Mountain View. I'm sad to see the baristas that really had me coming back every day be replaced by a less friendlier crew. The morning crew is particularly slow with mobile orders. I've ordered drinks (mostly Venti Dark Roast, nothing special) on many occasions with only a four minute wait time and when I arrive ten to fifteen minutes later, the drink isn't ready. What I've also noticed is that nobody is even paying attention to the mobile order machine. My last two experiences occurred in the same week and they were the final straw, with two incidents that have made me not want to come back. The first incident happened in the morning, I ordered my drink and once again my phone told me that it was only four minutes to wait for a Venti Dark Roast but when I arrived it wasn't ready. The barista behind the bar, was free and asked me if I needed help so I asked for my mobile order. When she noticed that it wasn't ready, she gestured to another barista who was moving around quickly behind her and with a quiet voice she said "She'll take care of it." The barista who was supposedly going to take care of it hadn't even acknowledged me and apparently wasn't going to any time soon. When the first barista notice this and then saw me look at my phone to check the time, she walked over to the brewing coffee dispenser and made my mobile order. I'm not sure why she didn't do that in the first place, maybe she "can't" because her job for the day doesn't handle mobile orders but there was a time to excel at customer service and she missed her opportunity. The second incident was just uncalled for. I placed a mobile order for a Venti Dark Roast in the morning and arrived at the store shortly after placing the order. My past experiences with this store had me assume that my order wasn't ready, though I wanted to be optimistic as I saw a Venti cup sitting in the mobile area. Unfortunately the area isn't accessible to customers like most mobile pickup areas at other Starbucks stores. I proceeded to wait for someone to call my name but nobody did. The one employee (Caucasian, Female, Brunette) tending the bar didn't acknowledge me for the five or so minutes I stood there waiting. She in fact looked past me and handed drinks to everyone else that came in and out of the store after me. She essentially acted like I wasn't even there as I stood less then three feet from her. Another employee (Caucasian, Female, Blonde, Tattoos) made several trips to the mobile order station, checked the items waiting there as she added more to the station, but she too didn't even acknowledge me. I go over to ask for the Manager, quietly and as an inquiry. An employee (Caucasian, Male, Beard, short hair) behind the counter points out the shift lead (Short Silver Hair, Female, Glasses) but asks what I need. When I tell him that I've been waiting for my mobile order for awhile he looks at me and asks in a condescending tone "Well did you tell someone you're here?" I said, "well, no... but" then he walks over to the mobile order station and says in a tone loud enough for everyone nearby to turn and look at him and then me, "well you have to use your words!" he yells indirectly at me. I tried to explain to him that at most Starbucks I frequent, the drink is usually in a pick up location that is accessible to the customer or the barista calls out the drink but he interrupted me and told me that isn't how they do it here at this store. So rather than, "Here's your drink, have a nice day" He instead embarrassed me in front of his co-workers and other customers just because I asked to speak with the Manager. The "Shift Lead" didn't step in, in fact she acted like nothing had happened and made no attempt to deescalate the situation. I took my drink and quickly left as everyone watches me and the barista has a smug triumphant look on his face. It doesn't seem like customer service to make the customer try to flag down a barista who is busy to see if his order is ready. Especially since I've been to plenty of Starbucks where the baristas make that extra effort to see that everyone received their order and there is nobody standing idly waiting. read more

This Starbucks is hit or miss. It feels like the staff are more concerned about having fun with themselves than paying attention to customers requests. For example, the music was quite loud and a few people asked nicely if it could be turned down. The employee said she would look into it but then just right back to what she was doing. Music was never turned down. Then I noticed some customers are greeted very friendly while others are just kind of pushed to the wayside. I was standing waiting on my online order, which part was forgotten. I had to show the employee my order again. When she brought my sandwiches, she just threw them on the counter towards me, with no eye contact or a "sorry for the wait" like I've gotten at other Starbucks. Lastly, my drinks that I order are never the same with consistency. Some times they have a good proportion of what I've asked for while other times there is no foam or taste. I'll ask if I can get it revised but usually met with an excuse. Example, "it's hard to get good form with almond milk or coconut milk." If that's true then how come I can get rich thick foam at other Starbucks I go to, that use the same exact milk as this store. Doesn't make sense and excuses are lame, especially for how much each product costs. Maybe Starbucks should have another systemic meeting regarding employee interactions with guests and making foam. read more

There are 2~4 tables with this wireless charging thing. Not sure how it works as it is not available yet. Starbucks is getting pricier and also more savy to drive up sales and margins. 1) They blast airconditioning during winter and it is soooo cold. Multiple people asked for the staff to lower the a/c and they said no. This review is strictly about the staff. I went in today with some colleagues on our lunch break. We all grabbed our coffees but I couldn't help but notice what was going on behind the counter. I was helped by a nice young girl who seemed to be new. The manager (I think? Lady with purple-ish hair) was constantly patronizing this poor girl in front of 15 or so customers. The rest of the staff seemed to be laughing along as well, making her the only and obvious target. I was disgusted by how this person in charge was treating her fellow employee. For the 10 short minutes I was in there my coworkers and I watched as the girl was getting constantly picked on for every question she asked or every little thing she did. The person in charge made sure to dramatically yell and order the girl around in front of all of the customers and other staff. I've worked in service in the past (10 years while in college/working as a second job) and I understand you have to earn your worth in these types of jobs. But disciplining your employee to the point where it's embarrassing them and the customers is plain unprofessional. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Normally I don't pay too much attention to how staff is treated at an establishment, but this was so obvious and disgusting I couldn't help but notice it. read more

This is by far the best Starbucks I've been to because of consistency. I've come to associate this Starbucks with being the first to always make my drinks to taste the same and be very good. Let's be honest, some Starbucks seem to mess up your order and it turns out to be an un delightful experience, even if it's the same drink you get often. It's like taking a chance and hoping it's good at different Starbucks locations; but luckily at this location, I know it will always be good. You'd just expect a chain to have consistent tastes when the recipes are supposed to be exactly the same. Very rude employee. Worst experience at this location because of rude woman (black hair with purple hair tips - I think her name is Jean or something starting with jea) After shopping at Nijiya market (close to this SB location), I stopped by this store as I wanted to enjoy a cup of coffee. Since I was carrying many staff with my 1-year old daughter, I entered the store with the shopping cart having my daughter ride in the seat of the cart. I didn't know customers are not allowed to enter the store with the cart and I admit this was my bad. The rude staff yelled at me so rudely "DONT ENTER OUR STORE WITH THE CART!!" Well, I understand it was my fault that I entered the store with the cart, but don't you think this is very offensive way to treat customers by yelling at me in front of many other customers? Don't you guys have any consideration for parents with baby? She yelled at me so badly in front of many other customers, and I really felt humiliated in the store. I brought this issue to the store, and Nancy (I think she is a store manager or something) apologized for this matter. However, she never let us speak with the purple hair woman and just keep saying "We will have a meeting today to make sure this will never happen". Well, I am sure this will happen as long as you guys keep employing this rude staff in your store. This is definitely "baby-unfriendly" store and I will never go back. Hello! I am a super frequent customer at this Starbucks/ Mountain View location, 1-2 times a day, 7 days a week. With that being said, I also work in an industry that is very customer service related! (I am a hairstylist and have my own business/clientele.) So I am always super aware with customer service, that things happen, and I am very accepting and understanding of those things. When it's a busy time of day, I can understand -though I do mostly 'mobile orders' because it is always so convenient, I ALWAYS have my dog in the car, and I'm usually running to work. My issue is- I am majority of the time coming in, during the earlier part of the day. But it has now been several times I have come in for the later part of the day, and the service has been HORRIBLE. It is very obvious that there is usually one or two completely brand new employees that have zero clue what's going on. And I can be patient and understanding, everyone has to start somewhere, but when someone is not only working very slowly, and then my drink gets screwed up, mistakes happen, my drink is complicated, but there is ZERO hustle to get the drink remade and have me out the door. I don't understand the younger generation, no one understands what that sometimes you need to hustle. It's ALL ABOUT customer service, I can completely understand that people make mistakes, please we all do, we're human! But instead of trying to quickly/timely correct the mistake, there is no urgency to get my drink out, and it is frustrating to see others getting drinks that were way before me in line. There isn't a lot of effort to fix a mistake. This has happened numerous times, I understand the new/not as trained employees have to start somewhere, but they are usually on the later part of the day, and in a shopping center that is SOOO busy, it's hard to find parking...I feel you need to still have to have an afternoon staff that is UP TO SPEED, and can properly handle the order of the mobile orders coming in as well as the walk-in customers. It is a huge frustration, especially when the service is completely different in the morning. Of course this location is still going to be my main stop, but being that I am also in a service oriented business, and I'm a boss, I get it, and that's why it's even more frustrating.
