I really wanted a caffeine pick me up before we started our day while my friend was visiting from out of town. Cute spacious place. Definitely see myself hanging out here. Very cozy. I came by with a friend and we both had lattes, one with milk and one with oat milk. I forgot which flavor because we don't usually drink plain lattes. He enjoyed his and I was okay with my oat latte. It wasn't bad and it wasn't great. Cronut with jelly was okay. Parking in the lot was no problem. We walked by two buildings and looked inside before we figured out which building was the Backyard Cafe. There was someone ahead of us in line and they were told they did not deliver to the outside tables. Pickup was at the counter. The back row of tables where I took the picture below was popular. I rarely if ever leave 1 star but I want everyone to be aware. We went in for a quick bday breakfast and scanned the menu, decided what we wanted and NO ONE acknowledged us or even came to us to help. We were so confused on what to do. I even tapped the screen to see if it was self order and nothing happened. I guess we weren't "cool" enough or didn't look like Googlers? We kept trying to catch the girls eyes but she was too busy grabbing things and putting things away. We left. We felt like we were not wanted. I've been to Valley Goat before but recently discovered Backyard Cafe at Treehouse Hotel. Nice, cozy ambiance with holiday lights adorning the space. It gets busy during peak hours but a friend and I were able to enjoy a quiet breakfast. We were warmly greeted by Vanessa & Juni. They're so fun to talk to & super accommodating! My wife and I had a late start Sunday, we wanted to get here for brunch but didn't make it. We got here in time for lunch though and when coming around the parking lot, you can see how scenic this place looks. The giant warehouse building venue is the first place you'll notice and then once you start to walk over, you'll notice how modern these buildings look. We came here because we were mostly looking for a brunch location and were curious about the Treehouse hotel with their hospitality for pets too. We ordered the Ube Bae, matcha latte, Chicken BLT and Grilled Cheese as our first meal of the day. We actually enjoyed our meals, half the time of enjoying half of my chicken BLT gave me the thoughts of saving the other half for later and walk out with a To-go box . The seating within this area could seat probably 50 people max, the area is very bright and does hit the spot on that indoor barn house theme. They also have an open fridge near the front entrance where there was some grab and go food, some kombuchas and local beers. This place does give off a relaxing vibe with how the seating is, I'd come here if I want a chill place to edit videos, do some work or even be on a zoom call. The building is also close to a green house, a treehouse hotel, and I think there's also a craft beer steakhouse next door. I didn't walk in but, I saw was large TVs inside, the smell of smoke meat and people drinking beer from the outdoor seating. After some walking around, the greenhouse has a cute little vintage VW buggy inside and next to that was 10 V4 Tesla Superchargers if you got that NACs port, this would be a good spot to stop and check out the place! read more

I stopped by Backyard Cafe, because it looked like a cozy little spot for coffee and a bite to eat. I was a little confused when I arrived, since it was part of a boutique hotel. It was also really packed. The food and drink were a mixed bag. The gingerbread latte and berry cronut? Quite good. The $16 egg sandwich? Extremely mediocre. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed by the experience. Even if some of the food and my drink was pretty good, all of that was $37 BEFORE tip. I just can't justify that price. I heard about this place recently and was excited to try it. It's nestled right across from Valley Goat restaurant and next to the Treehouse hotel. The quaint and modern interior includes a great ambiance however the food itself falls a bit short hence why 4/5 stars. It is a cute little coffee shop with some distinct modern design. It is a bit on the casual side. You place your order at the front and then it's "seat yourself" kind of vibe. They have a limited selection of meal options but plenty of coffee and also lots of juice and smoothies options too! I got the Turkey sandwich and my husband got the BLT. It just comes with the sandwich, there are no sides like a salad, fruit or fries so that was a bit unfortunate. It would be nice if they added a side to their meal choices especially for the price. With that said, as they were tasty they definitely needed something else to elevate the dishes a bit. I do appreciate the small little touches like the spa elevated water and environmentally friendly cups and complementary games. So I'd say this place is great for a casual breakfast lunch, perfect if you want to get out of the house for a coffee and got some work or studying done, as well as if you are a guest at the hotel wanting a quick treat! read more

Backyard Cafe has a super peaceful vibe. The interior is very clean and seems to be a great place to work or study. There are plugs and a lot of seating. We visited in the afternoon and all pastries were sold out! We ended up only getting an Americano. Staff were super sweet as we forgot to mention *iced americano. They remade the americano for us. Menu is on the Treehouse Hotel website. Hours were 630AM - 2PM. It's right next door to Valley Goat restaurant, their weekend brunch 11AM - 2PM is bomb too. FYI: The "for here" coffee cup sizes only come in 12 oz but the "to go" size also comes in a large. Best best best in Bay Area! The environment... so good, so chic, so fresh! I can't remember his name, but the person working at the register is sooo friendly! His style perfectly matches the atmosphere. I have tried 3 coffees there, and all of them were great, but the MATCHA is the best best best! OMG!! Go right away and try it with almond milk. The downside is, sadly, they close at 2 pm. I wish they could stay open until 5 o'clock tea. Treehouse is 100% my new favorite spot. The personality of this place is unmatched -- from the flatware signs to the outfits, the decor, even the coffee cups. Every detail feels intentional. It's such a well thought out space. It's connected to a hotel, so they're clearly set up for morning traffic, and they do it beautifully. They're open until 2pm, which makes it perfect for work sessions. This is officially my new workstation. The matcha? The best I've had in the South Bay so far. It did take a little longer, but I watched them actually make it from scratch and it was absolutely worth it. Super high quality. The latte was great, the pastries were so fresh -- everything felt elevated. Being there genuinely felt like being transported somewhere else. The concept is so cohesive, so relaxing, and everyone in the space just seemed happy to be there. The energy was calm, welcoming, and thoughtful. Every single person was kind -- even down to the valet. Parking is interesting -- it's a huge complex connected to Google, event spaces, dinner spots, etc., so there's plenty of parking but it fills up. While searching for good coffee and a quiet place to get some work done, I stumbled upon this spot. It's a little easier to find once you park and walk toward the coffee bar -- otherwise, especially around 7am on a Saturday, it can feel like everything is closed. But once inside, it was surprisingly warm and inviting. The ambiance has an indoor backyard-barn vibe that feels cozy while still being very clean and modern. It's part of the Treehouse Hotel, and there was plenty of parking available. I'll definitely be stopping by again for coffee (I had the medium roast house drip) and their morning bun was . The cutest cafe find! It fits the theme of the hotel it's located at. Super homey and has cottage feel with a treehouse whimsy. The staff are friendly and they offer a fair amount of food and beverages. That morning, my husband and I were looking for a place to work. We ordered a smoothie, almond croissant, and cappuccino. It was all great! However, I did feel like it was a little pricey, but I guess, in line with hotel pricing. We did love that parking was free and that we could charge our car if we needed while we work. Next time, I do want to try their coffee and they also had a Nutella cronut! read more

I couldn't even get inside this place. I just swung by for a coffee at 1:30 PM on a Friday. It's set pretty far back behind the Beer Garden Treehouse. I parked, again, very far back just to be told the entire parking lot was valet only. WTF!? I told the guy I just wanted to grab the coffee from the shop 50 feet away. He said "Valet only" like a damned robot. Apparently this is the fanciest place with only the best civet coffee. Who the hell pays valet to grab an overpriced coffee?
