First time having Turkish breakfast. I love the balance and variety. Unlike American breakfast, this felt so much lighter. Our party of 5 ordered the Nahita Special (comes with choice of borek, an egg dish, choice of pogaca, and 2 complimentary unlimited turkish teas). It also came with a plate with Simit, tomatoes, cucumber, black and green olives, cream cheese, white cheese, homemade jam, honey & kaymak. Bread here is also unlimited. We also got the fried eggs with sausage, cilbir (poached eggs) and achma with chocolate. The bread they have paired so well with all the egg dishes, cream cheese, homemade jam, honey & kaymak. The bread by itself wasn't anything special to me though, kinda cold and not the softest. My favorite dish here was definitely the cilbir! Poached eggs in a yogurt, so creamy and rich. It was absolutely packed on a Sunday around noon. We made a reservation for 12PM but it was really confusing to get seated; didn't seem like they actually reserved a seat. Was looking forward to trying this place after seeing it hyped up on Instagram and I will say - it was okay, not great but between an ok and good? What's challenging is if you're unfamiliar with Turkish breakfasts - the menu is very confusing as you're not quite sure what everything else. You order at the counter and pay and then go to the dining area to get your free tea. Unfortunately the guy behind the counter had no interest in explaining anything to us and it was apparent with his attitude - not the friendliest nor welcoming. But we decided to go for it and got the Nahita Special which basically had mostly everything. The things we loved: The cheese Borek, I wouldn't mind trying the spinach one if we come back here. Huge fan of their Pida bread which is unlimited - you can get more at the counter when you want more. OH and the Turkish tea is unlimited as well. unfortunately I am not familiar with the best way to prepare or get my own Turkish tea? They had some made and some you got from the machine... tons of sugar cubes... Will stick with ordering coffee next time. We also loved the different cheeses paired with different breads, honey and that homemade jam!! SO GOOD... you can make up any tasty bite you want which I think is the nice thing about the turkish breakfast - you create your own bite each and everytime!! It's fun to try different combinations but I will say I love the salty and sweet combo so either feta cheese with jam or honey on the different breads was my favorite bite. What I didn't care for was the Shaksuka - I've had this dish before at other places and usually it's more flavorful with more eggs - this was bland runny eggs in a dish. Not my favorite and I wouldn't choose this again. And reading some other reviews the eggs with sausage didn't sound like a hit either so am thinking maybe we skip getting any egg dishes from here. I will give it an overall of 3.5 stars Service- self service. You order at the bakery counter, grab a number and they deliver it to you. Tea station is self serve. Ambiance- is a very chill, family style place. I appreciate they have all these tables for people to sit whether you order a full meal or just a piece of pastry. No frills, very noisy since is packed when we were there. Food- We had the breakfast for two (nahita's special) and an order of baklava. The eggs with sausage was only ok, the eggs were very over done so next time I think I will try other egg dishes. The breakfast for two came with Borek (we ordered the one with beef), simit, pida bread and pogacha. Our favorite was the borek and pida. The other two weren't bad, just not our favorite. They have increased the price of Nahita's special from 39.99 to $45. Feels a bit expensive for what we got. But I do appreciate the unlimited tea. Baklava was delicious. Had this on my bookmarked places to go after seeing so many posts about it online and finallyyyyy came to try it today! From what I've learned, you go to the bakery side to order your dish, pay, then bring your number stand to a table of your choosing on the restaurant side. I was super intimidated because it kind of felt like I was walking into a huge family lunch gathering with loud and cheerful chatter all around. Easing into my surroundings, I saw that folks served themselves tea and water at the counter with a small station for sugar options. You also get your own utensils and at the end if you have leftovers, your own to go boxes with tiny containers for the sauces or smaller side items. It was definitely a fun experience of being able to try so many items in a platter format. Taste-wise it was definitely more on the fresh, low-sodium, non-spice side. As someone who typically eats spice rich items, this was a refreshing contrast. But for those who do prefer the savory flavoring of food, this might be too plain for your tastes. After shopping next door at the Granary for quilting Miriam's, my friend and I stopped by the Chico out Nahita. We both ordered the baklava to go. Nahita Bakery operates a humble storefront with large glass display cases showing off their delicious baked goods, fried pastries, and stewed meats and vegetables. As a first timer, it was a feast for hungry eyes! We came in on a weekday afternoon and were hankering for a snack before dinner. The staff welcomed us in and gave us a quick introduction to their offerings. My mouth was already salivating at the sight of the golden brown pastries and at the mention of olives and cheese, I was committed! We ended up getting a coupe of their items including achmas (pastry made with sweetened dough) and pogaca (pastry made with buttery dough) - one filled with olives and one with the feta cheese. We also got a borek (pastry made with phyllo dough) with ground beef and asked to be cut up so it can be shareable. The olive achma was fragrant and soft when torn into. The olives were flavorful and distributed well within the bun. The feta cheese pogaca was flavorful and was layered into bun. I think it would have tasted even better warmed but it was delicious nonetheless. The distribution of the cheese could have been better to better fill my mouth with those flavors. The borek was a star but too heavy for one person to eat. The fried dough was crispy and paired with the ground beef made for a hearty snack to go with something warm to drink. The other pastries and entrees looked good and although we didn't have the stomach space for it this time, we know we will be back when we are in the area to try something new. Perhaps we will get to try their coffee next time! Overall, Nahita Bakery does an amazing job bringing their Turkish culture through food to the South Bay. Their quality of work is shown in the food's presentation, ingredients, and flavors and the clean open dining space elevates the dining experience here whether you're in for breakfast, lunch, a snack, or dinner. I'm not familiar with the food offered here, as this is the first time I've tried borek. The cheese borek was on the salty side, and (ground) beef one was slightly dry. We were the first customers at opening (8am) so expected everything to be fresh. However, the sesame bagel was obviously old and reheated as it was stale and dry. The lady also served us a day-old baklava carrot slice from the display case, even when there was a freshly made one right next to it. Can't give a high rating for a place that charges $9 for a slice of day-old baklava and serves day-old sesame bagel to first customers of the day. I've been missing the breakfasts in Istanbul and was so happy to see that Nahita was serving Turkish breakfasts! We went here on a Sunday at 10 and there was already a line out the door. It didn't take too long, but there is only one line to order pastries to go and to order for sit down. There is a bigger room where all the tables are, but since it was pretty crowded they sat us at a bar area near the window. We got their breakfast for two and it was absolutely delicious. A relaxed Turkish Cafe/ Bakery that offers homemade Turkish baked goods and some of their signature dishes. My Turkish friend brought us here for her birthday celebration. She ordered the food for us to try. They were all tasty and freshly made. The cafe has self service area for the plates, napkins, tea, etc. They have lots of tables and seating. I had a delicious snack at Nahita. Everyone is very nice and the place itself is quite clean and comfortable. I ordered a lahmacun, Turkish coffee, and a yogurt drink. The lahmacun was delicious - slightly spicy, meaty, super crisp bread, delicious smell. And it was served with 3 different types of vegetables to make it interesting, and a lemon wedge for some extra acidity. I ate it all in about 5 minutes. The coffee was also fantastic, even though it's quite strong it was very balanced. No sugar needed but it was nice they serve it with a tiny little candy. Finally the yogurt drink, which is bottled - not made here obviously but if you don't mind these types of drinks it's quite nice. And full of probiotics too, so win-win. Overall, very nice little place with very reasonable prices. If you want a small snack, light meal, sweet treat, or pick me up it's a great option. The borek here is phenomenal. The mezes were great. The pogacha was fine. The simit was nice and chewy. I know like they pre-sliced everything for ease of sharing. But the menemen was a poor show. Way too eggy, not enough tomato. Service was fine. They made sure the tea was always present. However, I don't know how we're supposed to ask for more pida bread besides just stopping who I presume is the owner and asking for more. Additionally some of the chairs were heavily stained. OMG, we have not been here for a year and this place has changed so much.. I'm a good way! When we were here a year ago the place was quiet and unassuming but now, the restaurant has expanded taking over the bubble tea space next door and despite the huge space, it was packed! I came for breakfast with a friend around 9am on a three day weekend Monday, and just happened to get there before the morning rush it seems. You order at the front first, and some items are given to you at the counter after paying, and you bring a number to a table of your choosing in the dining room for the other dishes to be brought out to you. There were many other groups who enjoyed a leisurely meal and it seems people are welcome to take their time and stay for quite a while. Our food was brought to our table almost immediately as we were sitting down, and we were shown that the tea was self serve against one of the walls. It's bright, warm and welcoming inside, with plenty of tables to pick from that are spaced far enough to give you space to enjoy your meal. We got the Nahita Special, which the menu states is meant for two people - it's definitely a lot of food so I think it could easily feed 3, if not 4 less hungry people. We wanted to try the Cilbir eggs, but unfortunately it wasn't available that day, so we opted for the Menemen/Shakshuka instead, which unfortunately was a little more watery/bland that we expected. I really enjoyed the Simit and platter of cheeses, honey, jam, and cucumber/tomato that it came with. The borek with beef was heavier and oilier than it looked, and we weren't able to finish it - it could definitely be enough for a breakfast on its own, and I wonder if the spinach version might be a bit more balanced. The pogacha provided on the platter was filled with olives, which was surprising since that wasn't one of the fillings on the menu for the pogacha, and we wish we could've selected one with a different filling. Finally, the unlimited self serve turkish black tea was excellent to go with the breakfast! We ordered the simit (Turkish sesame bagel), borek with beef, pogacha cheese bun, and the chocolate açma- and every single item was delicious. The simit was perfect: crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and great with a little cream cheese. The borek with beef had tons of flavor and a wonderfully flaky pastry. The pogacha cheese bun was simple- just bread and cheese- but they do it really well. The standout favorite was the chocolate açma. It was the perfect sweet pastry -soft, lightly sweet, and filled with rich chocolate that wasn't overly sugary. The chocolate was spread evenly throughout, making every bite great. Service was smooth with no issues at all, and the shop itself is a cute little spot- warm, clean, and welcoming. Nahita's Bakery is a casual cafe with a small storefront that opens into a surprisingly expansive dining area.The ample seating, self-serve Turkish tea, and generous portions -- the "for two" special easily feeds three -- make it a great brunch spot to linger and chat with good company. The food is impressively plated with individual small ramekins for a soft creamy cheese, a crumblier and saltier cheese, olives, jam, honey and kaymak cream mix, sujuk Turkish spiced sausage, and sliced cucumber and tomatoes. The wide variety of condiments covered the range of flavors from the briny olives, umami-packed sujuk and tomatoes, bright and fruity jam, sweet honey, and Turkish tea that you dilute to your preferred level of bitterness. However I did think that the jam was a little watery and could have been set firmer with more pectin. The honey was on the astringent side, so do mix it will with the kaymak cream to round it out. Four different types of pastries that served as a canvas for all these condiments. The toasted sesame seeds on the simit bagel gave each bite a roasty note and satisfying crunch, and paired with the creamy cheese. The pogacha cheese bun was softer and pillowy, which contrasted nicely with the crumblier cheese. The spinach börek has light, flaky layers that must be served very warm for the layers to not collapse and become dense. On our first visit we were lucky to have it fresh from the oven, cut and served to us right at the counter. On our second visit it was reheated but not quite enough and the difference showed. The highlight was the çılbır poached eggs with pida flatbread. Despite the fiery-looking bright red seasoned oil, the dish was actually gently seasoned. The pida bread on its own is hard and chewy but worked well for dipping in the yogurt and liquid yolk. The wide variety of pastries and condiments make this a great option for breakfast with a group. We walked in, found a table for our group and started looking at the menu. 10 min later we asked to get more seats for our friends and the waitress said oh you need to have a reservation and also u need to stand in line order food, get a number then sit. We were surprised because no signs saying that, and no one at the door was telling us to do that so we will not just assume we had to do that. Besides, when we walked in there was no line!! However, the guys went to order while we women sat waiting, the head staff was looking curiously at us for few minutes then came by and said why you guys don't have a number on the table. I told him our husbands are placing the order, he said well u should wait outside and once u have a number you sit. I mean we had babies and stroller and so much to carry around at that moment he could of said it in a nice way. My husband on the other side tried to order from the lunch menu that starts at 12 or something and it was already 12 and the cashier said we don't serve this until 2 pm so my husband said but it says here at 12 and the cashier said I TOLD YOU AT 2. He didn't say sorry or anything... Homey casual and warm bakery/restaurant we discovered a couple of weeks ago, and it is so great that I have been there 3 times already. They have great freshly baked bread and stuffed rolls along with Turkish breakfast items. The baked goods are fresh and made throughout the day. The traditional Turkish tea is always ready and it is a self serve style. The staff is warm and helpful. Since it is the month of Ramadan, they do serve full dinner menu at sunset and it gets packed by sunset. It is such a great joy feeling the community gathering there for breaking their fast.
