I can't remember the last time I had such rude and unprofessional service. I was left standing at the counter for over five minutes with no acknowledgment at all. The staff ignored me while they cleaned the equipment they had used, and when I finally asked if someone was going to help me, one girl just pointed to another worker and still nobody addressed me. At a company as big as Starbucks, it's shocking to experience this kind of treatment. Greeting customers and offering at least a "we'll be right with you" should be automatic. This is my most frequented Starbucks as it is close to work. I drop by for lunch sometimes, breakfast and snacks. My usual changed from Pink Drink to Strawberry Acai Lemonade after the Spicy Strawberry ended their Summer run. The lunch sandwich options are pretty limited, but the price for warmed up crunchy bread is better than other spots. Recently they added the Vanilla Bean Custard Danish which is super delish. I love the location as it is near big streets, it's easy to get in and out of the store and it's easy access drive thru. It's a smaller location but still has inside seating. Service is usually good. There is usually available parking in the big shared lot. Recommended! read more

Okay so this review is long overdue. I started coming to this Starbucks about 2 months ago. And when I tell you they always make my order exactly as I order it! The other Starbucks I used to go to wouldn't make it as I wanted it, it was always either super bitter coffee or way too much ice like if I wanted ice I'd order just ice . I swear I'm not picky and never told them but I was pretty disappointed. But here my drink always comes out so good and the staff always greets you when you walk in. Plus I like the little notes they put on my cup :) so I always have a nice experience here. 5 star service from Van at the drive thru window today. I ordered a strawberry acai refresher with lemonade, for my mom, and when my mom tasted it, it was too sweet and too tart. Van went above and beyond to make her drink to her liking and was extremely friendly and personable. He genuinely cared and wanted my mom to be pleased with her drink. He had the barista remake the drink (on the fly) and it was much better. Thank you Van for a memorable experience!!!! They should promote you to management. read more

I'm a 4th year engineering student and I've been coming to this place for over 3 years to do homework. I've seen the staff change, some stellar and some ok. So I've been coming often and seen the changes. 2. The positives. I've had some average service, and then I've had stellar service. Today I had stellar service that deserved some recognition. Customer service attitude of Meeyah -- SHOUTOUT FOR YOUR SUPERB ATTITUDE! -- was superb for the nth time I've been here. It's always like that, and that level of dedication to customer service take effort. As a customer I super appreciate it, thank you. She even delivered my Spinach Feta Wrap while I was at the restroom. Little details like that speak big. 3. Room for improvement. It's not uncommon for tables to be dirty. As a popular place and location, i get these employees get slammed with rushes of people like crazy. But having dirty tables consistently can kind of take away from the good experience set by service. I worked at In-N-Out and something I admire from them is how they dedicate one person to go out and clean the dining room every 15 minutes (or they're supposed to... i did it). It's a discipline that in my opinion benefits every business and its only the right thing to do for your clients. Today the table was sparkling clean so praise for that. Still there's been sometimes that it is truly unpleasant (Tom of crumbs, syrup smears, etc). All in all, as you guys can see it's a 5 star place for me. This morning I went through the drive thru, the customer service at the window was very dry and just wasn't as friendly as most Starbucks usually are. None the less, I paid for my drink and drove off. I took a sip of my drink and the lid of the top was cracked right next to the opening where you drink. Had I not taken a slow sip, I would've been burned pretty badly. After waiting in line, I wasn't going to go back for the lid to be replaced. I LOVE Starbucks. I am a fan through & through. The product is consistent and my favorite across the board. That is the sole purpose for 2 stars here instead of just 1. For the record, if you creep my other Yelp reviews, you'll see I am not a chronic complainer. I actually usually only take time to give props to businesses. With all of that said, I have had it with this location. These people are rude. They are really slow. I can handle slow, as long as it isn't paired with rude. I actually said out loud to them today (and was surprised with myself when I did) "I'm sorry, I feel like I'm bothering you guys" (because I'd inquired if the barista was putting sweetener in a drink that I'd requested please be unsweetened). Before that, the lady at the register had been too busy complaining about her personal life to the entire store to even greet me when I approached the register. She also never thanked me, nor indicated my payment went through. There is just an ugly vibe here. Not that they care, because they certainly didn't care about my business while I was there, but I'm done. For whatever it's worth, if I were a district manager, I'd want to arrange to have these peeps do some training at places like Redondo & 7th, the Pike, or even 2nd St, to just brush up on some super basic customer service skills (greetings, smiles, an attitude of service/being helpful, & goodbyes). The employees at those other locations are some of my favorite people I interact with in a day. This place doesn't even feel like the Starbucks brand to me at all. If you need a drive thru, go to Seal Beach or Cherry & Willow. Seriously. I'm not lying when I tell you I'll die loyal to Starbucks but this location is a no-go for me from now on. Boo!!! read more

This is my favorite Starbucks in Long Beach, i come here all the time and I've never had a bad experience. I haven't met a single employee that isn't the sweetest human ever. They always talk with me at the drive thru or when i come in and order, they will walk my food over to where I am sitting and waiting. I don't know what all the bad reviews are for, I think people are just impatient and rude nowadays and expect everything when they want it. I've been here when it's super busy and I usually get my drinks/food decently fast. I had a horrible experience here yesterday. I am a woman and as I walked into the store yesterday a cashier yelled "goodmorning sir!" In front of everyone in store. It was completely humiliating. I would give this Starbucks negative stars if possible. This location is the reason I have made the executive division for my family to no longer support the Starbucks company. We spend ALOT of money at Starbucks, just so that we can wait in 30 minute drive throughs just to get every single item on the order completely wrong! The manager at this particular location named Mariah, is straight up rude and always tells us,"We have no control over it, you need to call corporate." Okay so every time they get an order wrong, their app isn't working, their staff doesn't have anything together, I have to take time out of MY day to call the company? BUT OMG, today. Today was the last straw. My mom and I both ordered 2 drinks each on our individual apps, because it was happy hour. We finally get up to the front after waiting in the drive through for 30 minutes, which my baby did not appreciate. They gave my mom 4 drinks, 2 of which she didn't order. Makes her pay for them all. They said they couldn't give us happy hour. That doesn't make any sense. The manager, Mariah, comes out to tell us she has no control over the situation. Like what??? Meanwhile, my baby is screaming in the backseat. THEN the barista goes to scan my app, charges me full price for both my drinks saying that my happy hour on my app isn't working now that I must have redeemed it already. I JUST SAW HER SCAN IT 2 TIMES!! That's why it was not working!!! She then says their famous line again,"We have no control over this, you need to take it up to corporate." So I said just to forget it. I gave back my drinks and said I wanted a refund. I look back later on and no refund! I was charged for the drinks I didn't get. So then, I had to take time out of my busy schedule to call corporate. I was on hold for 15 minutes just to be hung up on. This is my first time here and so far, all I have for this Starbucks is PROs: 1. They are very attentive, welcoming customers right away! 2. Quick and you'll be in and out! (By the time I was in line and got my Iced Green Tea Latte, it only took about 5 minutes). 3. They have an excellent teamwork going on. They have an expediter (not the cashier) who gets the order started while you are in line, jotting the specifics of your drink/s. 4. Drink quality is what I have expected! We go through the drive through and lately there's been a lot of idle conversation at the drive through speaker and they always ask for a "name for the order". At the drive through? That's just weird. Don't they know which car is getting what order? We've never had this happen at a drive through so it just seems strange and takes more time that we really don't have in the morning. We just want to order our drinks and go, not have a conversation about what we're doing this weekend.
