I visited Starbucks in Kapaʻa, Kauaʻi, Hawaii [4-831 Kuhio Hwy] on both Tuesday, 1/20/26, and Thursday, 1/22/26. During both visits, this location proved to be very busy when placing orders for drinks and/or food. The staff worked as efficiently and quickly as possible to keep up with the high demand of customers, all while serving pleasant smiles. The interior of the coffee shop had a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The space was clean and nicely decorated with Hawaiian-themed photos. There were also plenty of products for sale, such as coffee cups, packaged coffee, and gift cards. Even though there may be some waiting involved, I still recommend stopping by. This Starbucks location gets the job done as expected. read more

I think if the wait for a drink is going to be 20+minutes they should let you know before you order! Had to cancel my order or else I would have been late to get my kid...I was late anyways bc the kid at the register wanted to refund me my drink but not my tip. I had to point out I'm not going to leave a tip with no drink and although he agreed with me he couldn't figure it out and had to ask someone else for help making me late anyways for the record when I went in, there were 2 people ahead of me and 3 workers. I wasn't the only one waiting for an extremely long time and annoyed to see others walk in and order and get theirs before mine. So just be wary of this place and unfortunately probably plan on waiting for at least 20 minutes! Nice Starbucks in a convenient location with plenty of parking. But no electrical outlets and for that reason it's getting a three-star review. One of the things that makes Starbucks purposeful, ludicrously overpriced coffee, is the ability to sit around and work. No plug, can't work. Service was fast and friendly. After a bad experience at a nearby breakfast spot, I needed a pick me up and chose the closest coffee spot. Thank god for this Starbucks. I got my favorite drink, Oleato gold foam shaken espresso, and it was made perfectly. The baristas were so nice and fast, and it really did make a bad morning so much better. With 4-5 sometime 6 workers there should be absolutely NO reason why drinks take 20-25min. Even with mobile order things take way too long. We live 20min from the closest Starbucks. We've ordered before leaving home and still had to wait there for our drinks. It would take the same amount of time driving to Lihue to get a coffee. read more

I don't go to Starbucks as often anymore but I decided to put in a mobile order on March 20th for a Cookie crumble Frappuccino. I came to pick it up and the barista very nicely handed me a "Your next one's on us" $4 store credit because they were out of chocolate curls. Very kind and quick service that day and I wasn't expecting a free drink regardless if they were out of the topping or not. I was happy to visit again and use my store credit 3 days later (today). I go in person to the same location and mention I have store credit from my previous mobile purchase. The barista then tried scanning the card and proceeded to tell me it was an invalid and "empty" gift card. Being confused, I explained the situation to which he goes to imply i'm lying by saying "this card looks pretty old for 3 days". The barista started arguing with me that he would not honor it because it was empty and the barista who gave it to me probably didn't know that the "chocolate curls have been discontinued for a while now" and he mentioned that they didn't think i'd come back and check/use the card. ??? Then he thROWS my free drink card away and charges me in full ! His entire response and demeanor is beyond insane so I just end up asking for the manager. Kara, the manager on duty, comes out and kindly honors me. Reissuing a new valid $4 store credit after explaining my situation again, even though I still paid in full for the drink I ordered today. I appreciate the manager and the barista who gave me the free voucher intially, but i'm so pissed off I never want to return to the Kapaa location after that experience. read more

This is your typical Starbucks. Nothing spectacular. If you're looking for cups from the Hawai'i collection, they have ALL of them, including the spikey yellow and green cup as a keychain! I got a trenta iced coffee with room and they served me a small cup of milk on the side because they don't put out carafes anymore. No idea why but I'm fine with that. The manager of this Starbucks, in the Safeway plaza in Kapaa, Kauai, invited me to try two new menu items, the Chicken, Maple Butter, and Egg Sandwich, as well as the Potato, Cheese, and Chive Bites. Both items were delicious. I was not so confident about the idea of pairing chicken with egg, but after trying it, it is a winner. The maple butter smooths over the chicken taste, while the chicken adds firmness to the egg. The Bites are great. Potato and cheese goes well together, and chives are one of my favorite herbs. I like the ambiance of this store, the friendly, helpful staff, as well as the very convenient location with the newly renovated Safeway supermarket, UPS Store, American Savings Bank, T-Mobile, Verizon, ABC Store, and other businesses next door. Your bartista could use some training with customer service and product knowledge. You don't have to know everything, but at least be receptive for learning. It was a simple question, I had, but she was so quick with her flippant response (and tone), "We don't know that!" I mean, not like I was asking about auto mechanics, it was actually relevant to her profession. Maybe next time, try "Good question, I'm not sure but I can find out," -- unless she's so satisfied with complacent ignorance? What a drag. At least the guy at the register ventured a guess and was more pleasant to encounter first thing in the morning than Miss Hate-My-Job. First of all, remind yourself "Kauai time!" I'm sure you're used to your neighborhood Starbucks pumping out hundreds of drink within thier 8 hour shifts, you're going to be disappointed. But, if you can remember that you and your family is on vacation, there is no rush for a caffeine fix. Buy some cool "Aloha Vibes" tumblers, or "Hawaii" hydroflask and a cool custom pineapple shaped cup that's apart of Starbucks Hawaii Collection. Yes it's take out only, there's no table because were still in a global pandemic. But they do work extra hard so always remember to tip your barista, because they welcome you upon entry, try to learn your name, and announce that your espresso or cold brew is ready for you, all with a friendly and genuine Thank you :-) read more

This Starbucks is provided excellent customer service and it's a great place to escape the heat of Kapaa in August. They have great iced coffee and stable internet which can be hard to find here sometimes. Going to this establishment to work, visit, or to just relax..is a win..win..all the way around!! read more

This was the closest Starbucks to our Airbnb. So we made a few stops here while visiting the island. I was able to easily order some Keto friendly drinks without the baristas batting an eye. My drinks came out perfect each time. I also visited the restroom once and it was notably clean. read more

This Starbucks in kapaa is one of the worst Starbucks on the island!!! Mostly every time I go there's no dragonfruit drinks! And recently when I went they didn't have pineapple passion fruit. The service is not the greatest nor the fastest, I waited almost 30 minutes for 3 drinks. They are always short staffed and some of the workers I talked to were so rude! Visited around 7:50 am. Not busy. There were around 5 baristas working. Very slow. Understandable. I ordered 5 drinks. 2 hot coffees and 3 cold drinks. Came out with no carrier, no stopper, no straw, no cup holder for hot coffees, and nothing. There is no stationary table to grab napkins or straws. That's fine. I was trying to get chilled out because it was my precious vacation. Tried not to get upset on little things. I had to ask for carrier, holder, straw and everything. They only provided one thing at a time even though I'm telling them im carrying all five drinks by myself. No one is really helping and ignoring what the customer needs. I was sick of asking same thing over and over and waisted too much time, I reached to barista's stationary straw stack, and one of them finally came out and said "you don't do that. If you want something from us, ask." I really wanted to fight back but I turned it down. They are so rude and drinks aren't as tasty as other locations. I finally got a chance to use one of three of my Starbucks giftcards today. Entered their shop, they were busy. Good customer turnout, thinking they make good business. Line was long, workers were fast and efficient. Cashier took my order, I ordered the chocolate mint Frappuccino. She processed my gift card, and said Thank You. I waited on the side, standing there. They should put some chairs or have some kind of seating offered. Guy made my drink quickly, called my name and thanked me. Great service there. I'll be back someday. So far I've had two different frappucinos at Starbucks. Comparing theirs and the frappucinos at McDonalds, I find the frappucinos at McDonalds is better, in taste and price. And at McDonalds, they pour chocolate syrup over it, and none over the ones I got at Starbucks. read more

I was planning a caffeine hiatus during my vacation to Kauai, but then I found out that there was a Starbucks within walking distance from my resort. During my annual trips to The Islands, I like to purchase and collect Starbucks gift cards that are sold only in Hawaii. I ended up visiting three different Starbucks locations during my trip, and this location in particular had the least amount of 'sold only in Hawaii' Starbucks products for sale. The workers here were very friendly, welcoming, and efficient in getting the drinks out quickly. Overall, the amazing baristas that work at this location make getting your caffeine fix even better. read more

Free WiFi, outlets, a/c, expected classic drinks (plus the new cold brew!), unlimited refills, and good hours (5-830pm). This location in particular: Easy parking as it shares a huge parking lot with Safeway. Ample seating and super spacious. Expect the expected here. :) read more

Love this Starbucks location in Kapaa. The location is quite spacious, and it feels like a library / hangout here. I love how Starbucks does not pressure you to buy something just to be able to hang out here. If you are like me, you can work here and charge up your mobile device / lap top at one of the many outlets they have around the store. So, I boughta venti Pike's and just hung out to rest from the long drive in and out from Hanalei. Had to drive to Poipu later that day anyway, so this respite in Starbucks helped refresh me and prepare me for the long drive ahead. Friendly baristas and the excellent customer service you would expect from Starbucks. Well kept and clean. Plenty of parking, since it's located in a strip mall. Glad they don't have inflated prices like they do at the airport. read more
