First timer at this coffee truck at it was really good! Ordered some bagels and a few lattes and it was delicious. Service was good and the place was cute and had some tables to sit at. There are some other trucks in that area that serve lunch and dinner I think it was. It's right by the beach so you can also enjoy your coffee with a view! read more

Found a new favorite coffee shop. I finally got to try this spot. Whenever I wanted to stop and try it, it was closed. The entire menu looks delicious and I cannot wait to try each drink and determine which ones are my top favorites. For the first time I tried an Iced Ube Cream coffee with lavender. He put in the right amount of lavender so it didn't take over all the other flavors but gave it a nice subtle hint of floral. The prices are reasonable and my drink was made pretty quickly. I definitely will be coming back here for sure. read more

This was our first coffee stop while being in Kauai! I wasn't sure what I was in the mood for but ended up ordering the Salty Wahine. It took a little bit to get our drinks, but there was only one person working and there were others waiting for their drinks as well. We weren't in a hurry so we relaxed at the picnic tables while our drinks came out. My drink was delicious and everything I wanted! The coffee truck is located in an area where there's a few food trucks and picnic tables for people to eat at. This is the best coffee I found on the island. We tried several places and this is the only one we returned to. We tried the ube sweet latte, hola honey latte, dakine cold brew and the Mac nut cold brew. The drinks are on the sweeter side, after the first time I got the ube latte half sweet. It was still very sweet. None of the other drinks are as sweet, but definitely on the sweeter side. The drinks are very unique and have a lot of love put into their crafting. The owner is very friendly. We will return. read more

I love this quaint little coffee truck for an afternoon caffeine boost. I order the cold brew with Mac nut syrup and it is perfect! There are plenty of options for both espresso/non espresso drinks. Garden Island Coffee quickly became part of my morning routine while I was in Kauai. What initially drew me to this spot was that they offered an Uber Sweet Cream latte that included Ube drizzle and Ube flavored whip. The staff is amazing, even taking our order after she had closed up shop for the day. Keep in mind that they are only open till noon so you have to make your way here before your daily adventures. Coffee was 10/10!!!! We tried a whole bunch of places during our stay and this was the only one we came back to. Food options were great too and the service was awesome! We got the Salty Wahine and Ube sweet cream and they were BOMB but also priced really fairly, honestly cheaper than chain coffee companies and quality was way better. read more

We stopped here multiple times for coffee and breakfast. Their Ube Cream coffee drink is delicious and we loved their breakfast sandwiches. It was a nice way to get a light breakfast on the go. I don't normally like everything bagels but the breakfast sandwich on it was delicious. The truck is in a nice food truck park so it's a good place to hangout for a bit. read more

After years of disappointment with most coffee shops on the island--many feeling like glorified, caffeinated tourist traps who care more about quantity than quality--I was ready to give up on finding a decent cup of coffee. But today, I decided to try one last spot, and I'm so glad I did! I ordered a dark chocolate coconut milk latte. The barista, who I believe was the owner, was incredibly helpful and patient as I decided on my order. He also offered a selection of flavored or flavorless CBD options for drink, which sounded delicious if that's your preference (I definitely added some to my coffee on this beautiful Saturday, why not?!) As someone born and raised here, this is one of only two places on the island I would recommend for coffee. You won't be disappointed! This is a really fun spot to grab some coffee/tea in the morning. They have a bunch of cool speciality drinks with interesting names like the real housewife and the e-bomb. They also have a bunch of syrups and milk alternatives available to customize your drink. The employee working on the truck was very warm and walked us through the menu offerings. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to capture photos of everything we ordered, but in terms of food, we tried the yolo bites, which were granola balls with various fruits and nuts. They were a good snack to eat on the go. My friend also tried a carrot muffin, which she very much enjoyed. All the coffee and tea options were of high quality. As a resident on island, I absolutely love supporting local especially if they're consistently sweet, kind, and thoughtful! Erika and her husband are so awesome and I highly recommend seeing them and supporting their coffee truck! They work hard to serve you as soon as possible but give them grace when there is a handful of people. They're trying their best. I will order on the daily an iced real housewife with oat milk! This is a great food truck along the coast of Kauai. The coffee is awesome and the food menu has some super interesting items - I loved the jalapeño turkey bagel. Such a great little coffee truck! Very few places here have matcha and this place has it, and it's super good! My husband got a regular coffee with milk and said it's the best coffee he's had here all week. So many coffee places to choose from in Kapa'a. My preference is cold brew so when I was checking out different coffee menus, the variety of cold brew options at Garden Island Coffee caught my eye. The Da Kine, which is cold brew with sweet coconut cream, was incredible. Had it twice while in Kapa'a and will now try to make it myself when I go back home. Garden Island Coffee is a coffee truck in what I would call a food truck yard. Lots of tables to sit at if you want to stay and enjoy. As far as coffee trucks go, this one is as good as it gets! Conveniently located right off the highway with friendly staff and plenty of options for all. Picnic tables with umbrellas are available if you want to chill. Loved the local syrup options and ended up getting an iced ube sweet cream latte. I wasn't sure how well ube would pair with espresso flavor, but thought what the heck I'll give it a try. I stumbled upon this place while walking around and loved all the cold brew options! I also loved the idea that the cold brew has coffee ice in it, so there's no watery dilution! I ordered the Mac nut cold brew, which is exactly what it sounds like. It tasted fine, but at $7 for a 12oz (before tip, so over $8 for a 12oz drink), it felt like robbery. We ordered the passion fruit, coconut, and 1 plain/non filled. We ended up ordering another coconut and a chocolate one as it was fresh out of the back. We also ordered 2 coffees. Coffees were good, but we really came for the malasadas and they did not disappoint. The staff was lovely, helpful, made great recs and friendly. There are a couple of tables inside so we sat and enjoyed them while talking with a few locals about how wonderful the Bakeshop is. Highly recommend coming early & we will definitely be back on our next trip to Kauai!!

Came here on a whim because we stopped at Pono Market and it was next door…read more WOW these croissants were legit. Freshly baked and they had some yummy savory options. We did the mushroom, onion, and Swiss. Highly recommended if you are a mushroom lover. Definitely recommended if you are a croissant fan like me. There were so many other pastries we could buy, but our stomach was only so full. They do run out so I recommend coming here early.

But let's talk about the TOAST! They all looked SO GOOD. I narrowed it down to two: the avocado toast deluxe or the eggy toast. The eggy toast is more like an egg salad. Even though I think any time of day is a good time for egg salad, I went with the deluxe because microgreens and pickled red onions have a hold on me. While I've had variations of this toast at home and in my hometown, I've never tried it with chili. My lips were burning a bit, so if you are a sissy with heat, you might want to opt for no or reduced sauce. I left with no regrets...except that I should have come sooner than our last day on Kauai...and I should have grabbed an eggy toast to go!

We stopped by on a Tuesday around 8:30AM and got our pick of malasadas to try out! Kauai Bakery is located in a shopping plaza with plenty of ample parking, making it very easy to stop by and grab some delicious pastries. Service is like your typical bakery, you pick what you would like and they get it to you so you can stuff your face immediately after purchase. Ambiance is cozy with plenty of pastries to pick from in the large display case. We got 4 flavors of Malasadas for $16, which is $4 per doughnut, which I think is a decent price for the size and heft. The flavors we sampled were Lilikoi, Coconut, and Guava - out of these flavors, the coconut one was my personal favorite! The flavor was exactly what I would want anything coconut cream flavor should taste, creamy texture with a pleasant coconut taste that didn't taste artificial at all. It captured the floral background taste that is missing from a lot of coconut desserts that makes coconut so pleasing to eat! The Lilikoi one was my next favorite, it had a slight tartness and a more subtly pronounced flavor - I think I was looking for something stronger personally. Lastly was the guava one, which actually tasted a bit artificial and didn't have a pronounced flavor at all, which was unfortunate. Despite this critique, I would still glady inhale 2 or 3 of them because the dough was really pillowy and really enjoyable to eat. I think that the pastries here (at least the malasadas) are very solid and priced competitively vs most things here on Kauai. I would totally come back to get several more of the malasadas as well as try the other pastry options on the menu. Stop by and give this bakery a try if you are in the area!

We got there around 6:30am and there were many choices of pastries. We chose a few different flavored malasadas and coffee. The malasadas tasted good but I wasn't blown away. I wish they were served warm. Staff are very nice and friendly. Store super clean and cutely decorated.

The pudding was just a tiny bit greasy but the flavor was great and not overly sweet--I still ate the whole cup by myself in one quick sitting, yum! I would have loved more bananas in the pudding, but I did like how they were cut up into small pieces so the focus stayed on the pudding. Service was friendly and they had a whole tray of banana pudding ready to go. Free parking available all around the shopping plaza, conveniently located close to an ABC store and across from the famous Musubi Truck.

I got a banana matcha and a bagel sandwich while my friend got a banana bread and black coffee with coconut syrup. My portion was $21 for the matcha and the sandwich. I thought the matcha was decent! The banana flavor is a syrup and it reminds me of the banana candies. The matcha wasn't too milky. The bagel sandwich lacked flavor for me. I might just be too used to salt but I did find that the egg portion wasn't super flavorful. I did appreciate that the bagel was quite soft. Overall, it was alright! There is plenty of free parking in the area. The lines can get long even at 7 am on the week day.
