Best coffee on the island, some of the best coffee I have ever had. Loved to lick it up.

I popped in hoping to pick up a couple of bags of coffee (for gifts and to support local businesses). I found out that I'd have to pre-order at least a day in advance, and only their Panamanian light roast (no dark roast). Bummer. Place was small with a pretty barren interior. I always appreciate how friendly staff at Aloha Roastery are. Reminds me of Los Angeles with their minimal concrete interior - which could be a new change of pace for some. Great coffee but absolute worst customer service. Rude, no smile "what do you want". My latte was great but there was zero food still out and are too high white mocha's had zero milk in it. They tasted exactly like my latte. I get it was later in the day, but it's still 15 minutes until closing and we were out the door with 10 minutes to spare. Customer service is everything his golf course- you could have at LEAST smiled. We won't be back, which is unfortunate because we like to support local. I'd get five stars for my latte, and one star for customer service. read more

Came here the other day right before my hike! It is located in a plaza so very easy parking available. The staff are so nice and friendly. I got a cappuccino because they were out of matcha. The cappuccino was so smooth and good! Loved the minimalist interior and plenty of seating to enjoy the coffee. Will come again! read more

Aloha Roastery (2nd Location) is a quaint little place that is sterile in design and simple in execution. Wooden floors lead into white walls, and some choice accent plants. Walking in, we were greeted quickly by the single employee working there. We ordered a cold brew and a short latte, and waited patiently. A short time later, we got our drinks and went on our way! The espresso blend they use is roasted medium dark, and the flavors are very reminiscent of an elevated classic American Cuppa Joe. Simple maillard-y roasty dark notes, but enough acidity to still keep you interested in the flavor and not just the darkness. I was happy with my latte for sure. The cold brew was similar. Very inoffensive flavors and safe, in my opiion. Can't complain about that at all. Good starter coffee, and I was happy to have stumbled upon it! read more

One of the best cappuccinos I've had and I paired it with an amazing chocolate croissant. Layered, crisp exterior, delicate and soft -- perfect.They claim that it is made in-house. I did not expect to find such a genuine cafe on the little island. The service is friendly and the menu kept simple. Gotta love cafes that know their mission and don't try to reinvent the wheel. We stopped by after a kayaking adventure in severe need of caffeine. I've been to their since closed Kōloa location, so I knew ahead of time the coffee was great. Unfortunately, the whole place seemed off: the two staff members were on their phones and I had to ask them if I could order, they didn't have any hot water for a pour over ready, so I would have to wait for an extra 5 minutes to heat up water, and there was no coffee for sale (which was just a bummer for me because I like their coffee and like to support local businesses when I travel). I got an espresso, and it was quick and delicious, but the overall experience was a letdown. read more

A cute coffee shop close to the hotel that has a decent amount of seating. It would be a good place to do some work since it's pretty quiet. This place is nice! Good coffee, cool interior design, nice baristas. We walked here from our hotel, & wish we had discovered it sooner! The location is good as well, right on the main road as you enter/leave the Kapaa area. Worth a stop if you're looking for some good, simple coffee. I love that their menu is pretty simplistic but good quality. They're not trying to do too much & have super out there drinks, which can be hit or miss. Their menu is straight forward and doesn't disappoint with the simple drinks. I had a nice americano & my wife had an iced latte, with macadamia nut syrup which was fantastic. Strangely, this place isn't even on Apple maps, so we weren't sure if it was really here. But it is! And we're glad we found it. I know there's another location in Lihue, so we'll have to try that one next time. read more

Love this place so much that we came here multiple times during our stay in Kauai. This is conveniently located near our hotel. We could've walked, but just always drove there since it's on the way to wherever we were headed to. Love the simplicity of this place with all the plants. I usually get their mac nut latte with almond milk. I found that it tastes better with almond milk versus oat milk. I also tried the croissant and blueberry muffin - both are tasty. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I'd definitely go back there when I visit Kauai again. In the meantime, I'll be recommending this place to all of my family & friends! read more

My daughter and I stopped at Aloha Roastery before heading up to the nearby Kauai Animal Education Farm to commune with goats and other cute creatures. She had a hot chocolate and I opted for an iced matcha latte. We were both happy with our beverages. I loved the interior of this coffee shop. This place sells KOUGIN AMMANS which are my absolute favorite!! And it's less than $5. Normally they cost over $7 in SF. The parking lot is small and can be easily missed if you're not looking carefully. There's not a ton of options but I enjoyed my Mac nut latte and it was 5-10 drive away from Lydgate or the Grand Hyatt Kauai hotel. read more

The pour over was excellent and when i wanted to add a Mac Nut flavor shot after I has been rung up already, the barista added one for me free of charge! Kauai people are so nice! The shop is small but modern and clean. Excellent merchandise options in store as well as a small offering of single origin coffees to boot. The best coffee we found on Kauai! Lots of local shops around, but this was by far the best quality. More of a true coffee shop than a cafe or restaurant, but they do have a few great pastries - including a delicious kouign amann (which is very rare to find!). I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for my morning coffee. We had been to the sister shop in Lihue earlier on our trip and so were excited that there was one closer to us. It's located in a small plaza right near Wailua. The inside of this place is bright and cheery as it is done in woods and whites. Next to the cash register they have a display area filled with pastries and then their menu is on the wall in the back. This morning I decided to go with a Mac nut latte and then also added on a bacon and cheese scone and a plain croissant. The first item that I ended up trying was the bacon and cheese scone. It was crumbly as you would expect from a scone and really good. I mean, it's bacon and cheese, what's not to like there? Up next was the croissant which buttery and flaky and also good. Last but not least was the Mac nut latte which had a great ratio of milk to espresso so that you could taste both and I also loved the sweetness and nuttiness from the Mac nut. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I loved both the coffee and pastries from here. read more
