Do NOT get espresso or lattes here. They use drip coffee and it was terrible. We asked how many shots came in it, and they told us 3 shots.... But there was definitely no espresso being pulled. We literally dumped our lattes and purchased one next door at Brew Braddahs-- which uses a real espresso machine. The fruit smoothie here is good though, if you are looking for that. read more

Love Java hut. She always greets you with a cheerful manner and a smile! My kids get the shakes, either chocolate with no whip cream or Oreo with whip cream. Cannot go wrong, open early and drive thru before work or school! Easy pay with Venmo available I treat my kids about once every couple weeks and they cannot get enough. read more

Garbage coffee and my coffee had something in it which was solid. We also got a pizza roll and the pizza roll was not even heated up properly. The service was good, the person behind the counter was friendly. The drive through was easy to get through. read more

I stopped by here this past Thursday with my wife in the morning. Unsatisfied with a previous coffee that I had purchased, my wife consulted Yelp and found the Java Hut. It lives up to its name from the standpoint that this is a drive through coffee place with a single worker working to provide you some coffee. After looking through the menu I ended up ordering a large latte while my wife went with the lava flow smoothie. Then, since I was a little hungry, I also asked for a jalepeno stuffed pretzel. Unfortunately they were out of those and so I ended up going with the cream cheese one instead. It took maybe 5 minutes before our order was ready and we were on our way. I first tried the cream cheese stuffed pretzel and I have to admit that I was a fan. It had the pretzel on the outside and the cream cheese in the middle which made it almost like a breakfast bagel, except with a pretzel. If I could change one thing I would have liked some salt on the outside of the pretzel as I think that would have made it even better. Once I was done with that I tried my latte and was happy. It was made of rich coffee with a nice ratio of milk to espresso. Last but not least was the lava flow smoothie. Both my wife and I thought that it tasted good but was too sweet for our palates. That meant that unfortunately most of it got thrown away later in the day. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Even though neither my wife nor I were big fans of the lava flow, we did enjoy the latte and cream cheese stuffed pretzel enough to come back again. read more

To be honest, I have been using the Java Hut as my backup to get a morning iced latte when the other coffee house in Waimea is not open (which is often and sometimes unpredictable.) HOWEVER, on this trip I have decided that the lattes at the Java Hut are actually better tasting, so I think I have switched my priorities. Give it a try. read more

I had the Thai ice coffee (espresso plus steamed milk plus condensed milk) and the power bowl (bacon, egg, mozzarella, pesto, beets, sprouts plus additional avo). The coffee was refreshing and the bowl was delightful and heathly-ish. Even if you're not a huge beets fan (like me), it was definitely bearable! FYI - the lines can get long, but recommend that you order in advance via online for pickup. read more

Delicious!! Ordered medium latte with extra shot, americano extra shot, Oreo shake and chocolate shake. All were delicious!! She did an awesome job. I can't believe that I live so close to this place that I didn't stop by years earlier. It's like a hidden jewel that once discovered becomes a favored piece. It's a quaint little drive-thru with the friendliest barrista that gets your drink to where you want it and remains consistent to the point where it is a regular stop (at least 3 times a week) for my family. They have everything from stuffed soft pretzels to milk shakes. The owner/operator see's us at the window and immediately asks "having your regular?" I always have a sugar-free vanilla soy latte and she has not stopped being consistent from the first day she got it right. One thing that I love about the place is the price factor. Irregardless of whether you want milk, fat-free or soy. Whipped cream or not, the price stays the same. No charge for extra's. Ask for a Java Hut card if you plan on coming back again. After 10 purchases (drinks) you have one for free. The owners smile and aloha is reason enough for a stop over. read more

I tried the chocolate and Oreo shakes and they were DELICIOUS!! The Oreo milkshake isn't the same old cheapy vanilla milkshake with some Oreos that you would get from a mainstream restaurant it is actually all Oreo flavor! The chocolate milkshake is definitely for chocolate lovers, but lucky that is me! It was so delicious and rich with chocolate flavor!! The place is a little hidden but definitely doesn't have hidden flavors! It is also reasonably priced unlike many other coffee shops we have found on this island. 10/10 would recommend! read more

This little walk up or drive through is hidden gem. I tried the Java mud pie and for only $4 it was amazing and big enough for two. Just be sure to go early before the school kids get out. I was lucky enough to snag the last one on a weekday afternoon. read more

Tasty coffee right here in Waimea. The first time I went with the recommendation and got the iced snickers coffee. It was delicious but I probably could have done a smaller size. My husband opted for just their black coffee and loved it. He hasn't had a bad cup the entire time we have been here! Love the drive up window, you don't even have to get out of your car. read more

Located behind the Na Pali Explorer office is a great little coffee joint. I had a hot chai latte. It hit the spot before getting on a Zodiac and zooming up the coast. A small little drive thru coffee/espresso place in Waimea right behind the Taco place. I walked up to the window and the barista was SO nice! I didn't know what I wanted, so I told her I wanted lots of espresso and caramel and she made me a triple shot latte with caramel syrup. It was to die for! So good that I asked for a little less sweet one for my husband. He loved it so much that he walked over and got us more the next morning. great place to get your coffee fix....its a small little coffee stand behind a restaurant (Island Taco-Waimea) but the service and taste are EXCELLENT! not to mention, its a drive thru!..dont wanna drive? they have a walk up window also... WAY better and cheaper than Starbucks...also, they have some unique flavors like Snickers, Almondy Joy, German Chocolate Cake and some others...you can also choose your own flavor from the list of options they have.... hot, cold, iced, blended....whatever way you want it..they got it...did I mention most of them can also be made decaf or with soy? also have some sugar free flavors.. so if youre on kauai and heading to the waimea canyon, polihale, or anywhere down west..take a spin by Java Hut...you dont even have to get out of your car...just drive up to the window, order your drink and be on your merry way... I recommend this place to ANYONE who LOVES coffee!! also..they are open from 530am til 3pm....so you got LOTS of time to go there in between your busy schedule...definetly WORTH it!!! read more

My wife and I love to try out local coffee shops and were excited to try this place. It has a drive up window and is located behind a taco restaurant. We both threw out the sad drinks we were served today. We ordered a vanilla latte and a cappuccino. Interestingly, both drinks looked and tasted identical - like three day old burnt Folger's with bubbly milk on top...disgusting. They did not smell good which should have been our first warning. The vanilla was missing from the latte and did I mention they tasted horrible?! Kauai is known for great coffee - Java Hut is not. Save your money and grab coffee elsewhere. read more

Love there ice coffee and lattes! Must try the pumpkin crunch it is sooooo good. The owner is very friendly and is great. Only downside is that it closes early and they do not take cards. So make sure you have cash on you. Mornings can get buy at times because it's like the hot spot for the kids before school along with people getting to work and etc. read more
