Macadamia nut bars and other local baked treats

Easter Sunday morning open! Macadamia nut bar was so good $8 but like a slice of pecan pie but with macadamia nuts so good, and very moist and all of the ingredients were something I could pronounce and find. Met the baker she is sweet, conversational and her love for baking comes thru ..I had a hard time leaving with one item. Fresh breads there too and if memory serves me a selection of cookies too. No tables but take it to go.

Taro bread, what is still left of it.

What bread! The taro bread is both light and tasty, and it is huge, I guess like a double loaf. And still fresh after several days, no problem, worth every penny, how does she do it?

Came here in search of some Malasadas. Learned from the cashier Lily that they stopped production of malasadas since January. Although we didn't get what we came for, we left with some delicious brownies to enjoy on our hike mahalo nui loa Lily, thanks for sharing ur knowledge and well wishes for our day!! Lastly, if you need emergency restroom, they have. Don't know if it's for customers only but you need a key to access the single toilet restroom.

Perfect taro bread. Amazing for toast!!

I have been visiting Kauai every year for over a decade and have experienced all of the local bakeries and cafes. VIP Treats and Sweets is a MUST visit for anyone seeking true from scratch baked goods with high quality ingredients. All items are clearly made with love and masterful baking. I appreciate the clean, simple ingredients and that it all tastes home cooked and not sickeningly sweet like treats served at other cafes. A local gem of Kauai and although it's difficult to decide, if I hade to pick my favorite it would be the taro bread. The sandwiches are perfect grab and go for a beach or hike day.

This wonderful bakery has moved from it's previous location and is now located in a new shopping center located at: 4-771 Kuhio Hwy. it is right next door to the Sherwin-Williams Paint Store. Their new space is bigger and everything looks amazing. When you're in the area, you should definitely check them out!!

VIP Treats & Sweets..assortment of freshly made bread. White, Wheat, Taro Loaf, French, Potato...Sour Dough bread has no yeast made with starter ONLY. Desserts...malasadas, pies, pumpkin crunch...etc

Malasada ( with cinnamon sugar). Three for $4

We stopped in to try the malasada. Big disappointment! Regular donuts are even better than these! Pretty much a dense ball of dough rolled in sugar or cinnamon sugar! No fillings whatsoever. We bought the breakfast sandwich with eggs and Canadian bacon. The English muffin was again dense bread! No flavors. The pumpkin muffin was ok. Totally not recommend this place.

This is a small women run bakery. Tried their crème brûlée and sticky bun. Both were great!

Passion Bakery Cafe is an absolute must if you're on the hunt for fresh malasadas! We came bright…read moreand early, and it was 100% worth it. We ordered the Lilikoi, Haupia, and Ube malasadas -- and WOW. All of them were so good, but the ube was our favorite! Soft, fluffy, perfectly sweet, and filled with so much flavor. You can really taste the freshness. The employees were also so sweet and kind, which made the experience even better. It's always nice to feel welcomed, especially early in the morning. Another big plus is the private parking lot with plenty of spaces -- super convenient! There's also lots of outdoor seating in a courtyard surrounded by beautiful plumeria trees (and some friendly chickens walking around), which adds to the whole island charm. Such a delicious and peaceful spot to start your day -- we'd definitely come back again!

Went to Passion Bakery for breakfast to try their "famous malasadas". Got the guava filled malasada…read moreand also too their Java Chip Mocha Frappuccino. Unfortunately being from Oahu with having Leonard's Bakery malasadas, these malasadas were rather mid compared to that. The guava filling was the artificially flavored type. But other than that it was a decent/above average sweet treat. The malasadas itself I'd say was 3 stars. However, the star was the Java Chip Mocha Frappuccino. The thing I loved most about it was that the java chips were small enough where it never got stuck in the straw and was evenly consistent with every sip. By far the best java chip mocha frappuccino in my book! I'd come back for this one. It made starbucks seem mid tbh. Service was friendly and efficient. And the ambiance, though quite small it was fresh with the smell of a malasadas bakery :) Plus a few tables and plenty parking outside. Overall I'd give it a 4 stars. Definitely coming back for that java chip frappuccino YUM!!!
