Made to order doughnuts! They came out piping hot with local flavors. The cocoa nibs were not my favorite for a doughnut topping. I would recommend the passionfruit!

Made to order donuts, warm and moist. Outdoor seating underneath the little roof, in case rain comes. Hot coffee was a bit sour.

Tried out Holey Grail Donuts in Kapaʻa and I get why people like it. The donuts have a texture that feels different in a good way. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, which really stood out to me. They rotate flavors pretty often and use local Hawaiian ingredients like lilikoi, which keeps things interesting without feeling gimmicky, like adding a random flower on top of a rice plate dish. It's the kind of place where you can try something new or just stick with flavors that sound good or familiar to you. Service was quick, and the food truck setup in the parking lot makes it an easy stop if you're already in the area. Definitely worth checking out if you're on Kauai and want something a little different from the usual donut spots.

Have seen them on social media for quite a while, but had never gotten to stop in. Finally got to today! We got a 4 pack so we could try a few, and a couple of iced coffees. The donuts- the original sin and the lilikoi are two of the best donuts we've ever had. Perfect balance of flavor- hot, sticky and yummy. If you are from Portland, think of Phipps donuts with Hawaiian flavors. So good. The purple haze and the chocolate crunch were both good too. Its just that the first two were jaw dropping. No complaints on any of them. The coffees were OK. My first couple of sips were better than it seemed after a few minutes. Maybe the ice watered it down quickly? Anyway- this place is so good! If you are in Lihue or Kapaa definitely stop by!

If there's one thing to say about Holey Grail, is that its aptly named.....these donuts are a religious experience. Made to order with fresh Hawaiian ingredients, these donuts are everything donuts were meant to be. We arrived around 8 in the morning, and found no line and almost no wait for our 6 donuts. While they were all delicious, make sure you try the Lilikoi! One thing to note: these donuts are a quite a bit smaller than your typical Krispy Kreme. (Another reason to try as many as possible!)

We tried these donuts on our first day in Kauai and then we had them every single day that we were there!!! The textures, the light airy fresh hot donut, the tropical flavors were all a hit with our family! My daughter preferred the classic while we loved the passionfruit, guava and original sin (maple). I highly recommend trying them and also having them daily as calories on vacation don't count! The coffee (macadamia) was also very good! There is limited parking in the food truck compound - they have an app where you get points etc for ordering and you can order ahead. The wait time is usually 5-10 mins as they make each order on demand. The price is also reasonable- with discounts on bulk orders.

Huge fan of this place, I have been to the locations in LA, and this one was even better, since this is where it all started! Every ingredient tastes high quality. I love the texture of taro donuts. The passionfruit glaze is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. It tastes like the perfect tropical summer day. The original sin glaze is delightfully vanilla bean packed. They come out hot and perfect since they make them to order right in front of you.

We stopped by Holey Grail Donuts in Kapa'a on a warm, breezy morning -- the kind of morning that already feels like a small gift. I ordered the Original Sin and the Lilikoi, and they surprised us with a free one called Hot Single. All three were delicious, but the Lilikoi stole my heart, bright and tart with that tropical sweetness that feels like sunshine in a bite. The donuts are fried to order, still warm when handed over, soft and light in a way that makes you close your eyes for a moment just to savor it. There was a small delay when we got there -- some issue with their equipment -- and they asked if we could wait a few minutes. I happily would any day. It gave me time to wander to the coffee truck next door for a cappuccino and settle into the slow rhythm of the morning. They made it up with the extra donut, which felt like the perfect gesture. I loved the open shed where you can sit for a while, donut in one hand, coffee in the other, watching the light shift over Kapa'a.

Unique, but not my thing. Holy Grail Donuts definitely isn't your typical donut shop. The donuts are dense and cake-like, not the light, fluffy kind you might expect -- though the flavors and glazes on the outside are creative and really tasty. We tried the sample box to get a mix, and the iced coffee was good too. Overall, it's an interesting concept and worth trying once for the experience, but the texture just wasn't for me. Probably wouldn't go back, but glad we checked it out.

So I stumbled across Holey Grail when stopping in next door for some coffee. I had gone to the coffee shop before on the trip and knew I wanted to try Holey Grail before we left. So our last day on the island, I ordered four of their donuts. I was not expecting them to make them fresh right on the spot! I ordered the guava pastry, which was a seasonal donut. I also ordered their original sin, peanut butter cup, and chocolate. I was super tempted by the hot single since it came with honey, but my aunt and ended up getting it so I was able to try it. The donuts were delicious and I see now why they are so popular! They were still warm when we ate them. A must try when visiting the island!

Oh my goodness, these are probably the best donuts I've ever had in my life! And to top it off, my teens thought the same. We are still talking about these donuts! I didn't tell them until after they'd devoured them that they're made with taro and fried in coconut oil, because they might not have tried them had they known lol! We ordered a 4-pack tasting box and chose the Rick Martinez, Cosmic Churro, Wild Guava, Original Sin and we also added on a Lilikoi. These were super fresh, warm, and delicious. The flavors were amazing and it was hard to pick a favorite! I've spotted there are some locations here in Southern California as well, so that's a little dangerous to know! Will have to check them out to see if they're as good as the ones on Kaua'i!

Cutest little donut truck in downtown Kapaa with donuts made from taro. A must try while in Kauai! There is also a location in Hanalei. Ordered the yummy Lilikoi and Purple Haze and they were made fresh to order. They are smaller than normal donuts and a little pricy at $4.50 each but the taste was worth it! Friendly staff :)

There are no blinking lights or frills, just a blue menu taped to the truck and an open window. There was no line when I arrived. The gentleman who helped me was pleasant and helpful. I ordered the fish and chips, an extra tartar sauce, a can of passion orange juice and a side of the homemade habanero sauce. By the time I was done ordering and paying, an impressive line of tourists had formed behind me. I made use of the hand sanitizer and went to sit and wait. There are picnic benches across from the truck with ample seating. The area is kept clean. The sun was shining bright and a the breeze from the ocean was extremely relaxing. My food took about 10 minutes, he walked the food out personally instead of screaming from the window which I appreciated. I took the food and drink back to my car so I could listen to my book while I ate my lunch. The plate contained 5 battered and fried pieces of fish (mahi?) Andy who they were seasoned, crispy and golden brown, served over a large portion of crisp French fries. 2 tartar sauces, a ketchup and the anticipated habanero hot sauce. The fish was moist and flaky on the inside and tasted fresh. Absolutely delicious. The hot sauce.... The homemade habanero sauce should be bottled and sold. It starts off mild to allow your food to shine on its own then creeps in with the perfect amount of heat. Paired with the tartar sauce or ketchup (I alternated every bite) changed the profile in a way that no hot sauce I've ever eaten has allowed. There was no cloying aftertaste, no overpowering vinegar scent, the heat was not intense, but it was there in the background complimenting everything it touched. I am in Kauai several times a month and will definitely keep Tony's Catch in the rotation.

It was the high review on Yelp that led us to check out Tony's. We are grateful that the other restaurant was closed! This food truck had some of the best fish and chips that we've had in a long time. The fish was fresh and the fries were crispy. The hand made tartar sauce was delicious. Plenty of tables with umbrellas are available. The food truck is right next to the beach. There are other food trucks nearby, but this was the one that was the most popular. The service was great - friendly and fast!
