As we walked in we were pleasantly surprised to try all sorts of samples. As far as ambiance, It's a factory so nothing fancy to look at. They were warm and delicious! The ladies were so nice and let us try many types! We bought chocolate macadamia yummy.

Location looks very industrial outside but there is a little shop in there! Very unsuspecting. Employee was super sweet and let us taste a warm shortbread cookie which was awesome. Hubby purchased a huge bag of various flavors to bring back home to his coworkers. Grabbed an ube mochi for ourselves and didn't love it, sorry.

This is where the magic happens, but you only get a glimpse of the old school store. From the outside, you're not sure if it's open. Once inside, you're greeted with lots of outgoing packages. Step even more inside, that's when you'll see the gift shop filled with Kauai Kookie items that I've never seen before. Never seen as in, I'm not sure if these are one offs or they just never went into full production. You'll find treats, breads, and clothing that you can buy as souvenirs. You'll find these items in small quantities as this shop cannot house that many items. No, there were no samples to be seen anywhere when we were here. You might be better off going down the street for the restaurant and shop but if you want a little bit of nostalgia, albeit a little underwhelming, you've come to the right place.

This is a must stop when you goto the west side to buy your omiyage to take back home. This is the factory so everything seems to be more fresh lol. They have a small store but with lots of stuff inside. They have lots of parking and the people there are really nice.

1 gram of Trans fat in each cookie! :(

Good and cheap, but not as good as Honolulu Cookie Company, which is only on Oahu and Maui. I don't mind regular fats, but each little Kauai cookie has 1g of TRANS FAT. This is really, REALLY bad stuff on your body. It can take YEARS for these fats to leave your body. The American Heart Association says not to eat more than 2g a day, but since you regularly get a tiny bit of trans fats that occur naturally in meat products, you should just avoid processed trans fats altogether. Use the "Google" to learn more. Kauai Kookie...please get trans fats out of your tasty cookies!

We were starving after snorkeling at Salt Lake Pond and boy, were we grateful for this food joint! I loved the Kookie samples table! We ordered: 1. Loco Moco w/ scrambled eggs b/c I'm a weirdo and can't stomach over easy eggs... I so wish I could! The gravy was savory and a little salty. The meat patty was juicy. 2. Chicken katsu w/ mac salad. Chicken was very juicy and thick. I just wish they cut the fat/skin more b/c I ended up chewing on way too many squishy fat. Bleh. 3. Desserts: a. Chocolate Haupia Pie: sweet & creamy. The crust was really sugary... you end up with sugar granules on your tongue.

Yummm my favorite cookies in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD come from Kauai Kookie!! I have fambam in Hawaii, so I've grown up with these cookies and can happily say that they have great customer service -- even from a distance!! I don't think my Yelp review does their cookies justice, so you should definitely try some wherever you are. Guava Macadamia cookies - I believe they're cheaper in Hawaii, but you can also get them at Asian stores on the Mainland!! They also have a new cookie called Banzai Cookies that come in bite sizes!! Mmm highly recommended!! My favorite cookie pictures are attached!!

Their main outlet store is located not far from my friend's place, so we always find ourselves here towards the end of my visit, lol. They've been around since the mid 1960's and produce anything from freshly baked bread & cookies to their famous Hawaiian Hula Dressing. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GgEYW8q8bcDRyBoXaXQK5Q?select=02dHUfcHCkad5Kq0mk9LyA Sure, you can buy their cookies almost anywhere but your local retailers (Walmart, Longs, etc) inflates the prices of these Kauai-made cookies by double or even triple. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GgEYW8q8bcDRyBoXaXQK5Q?select=6JviFui5RhKBCHL1KvONOw AND your local shops doesn't carry their specialty cookies like their rich Rocky Road Cookies and my favorite, the Banzai Cookies ($2 for 5oz)!!!! BANZAI!!! These crispy delights are delicious! Like their regular flavors, the banzai cookies are made with real, natural ingredients. They then throw in furikake, SAKE (yum!) and kaki mochi. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GgEYW8q8bcDRyBoXaXQK5Q?select=DmhSljagp8IW--jDYrHEqw Sometimes you'll get lucky and get whole pieces of the arare/kaki mochi! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GgEYW8q8bcDRyBoXaXQK5Q?select=dSDl2QjV5S_BpVWPDW8RqA CHOCOLATE OPIHI: At $8 for a 5oz box (usually 6 pieces), these little gems are pricey, but damn good! Shortbread cookies are topped with whole macadamia nuts, caramel and then drenched in milk chocolate (or dark chocolate, depends on avail). What's not to like? http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GgEYW8q8bcDRyBoXaXQK5Q?select=qaytXdgUnVTSMihS_phbmg KK also produces their own line of salad dressing, HAWAIIAN HULA DRESSING. The orig Papaya Seed Dressing is still my favorite. I like to marinade my shrimps and veggies in these and grill 'em up. Avail also at your local supermarkets in larger sizes. This 8oz one costs around $6: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GgEYW8q8bcDRyBoXaXQK5Q?select=8EFECkVWzjbeKH4-t0ItOw They also carry other products from local Kaua'i businesses as well. Products that the local community and visitors all enjoy: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GgEYW8q8bcDRyBoXaXQK5Q?select=zFhzbIxJqka4T7X754e7Ww AUNTY LILIKO'I is delicious! I always see people buying jars of her sauces and butters to take home. My friend's mom gifted this lovely jar to me on my last day: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GgEYW8q8bcDRyBoXaXQK5Q?select=OijBqklpzhwYIMc2xfKH3A She has her own website as well http://www.auntylilikoi.com/ KAUAI BREADSTICK CO: Baked fresh and avail all over Kaua'i, these crunchy breadsticks are good for munching or dipping (yes, I've dipped them in the Hawn Hula Papaya Dressing a few times.....ha!). Avail in many flavors, I like the simple Pepper & Alaea Salt one (red hawaiian sea salt). http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GgEYW8q8bcDRyBoXaXQK5Q?select=Tbs8JvEdAPai3zH9H2i4bQ

This place didn't look like much on the outside, but once we were inside the little shop, it grew on me. The lady working there didn't hesitate in giving us free samples. I'm pretty sure we tried almost every type of sugary morsel they had that day. This is a great stop to grab your edible souvenirs. I bought a round container full of individually wrapped Kona Coffee Macademia Nut cookies (sorry, kookies) that was perfect for bringing back to the office. There are so many varieties it's hard not to go crazy (I was kept in check only by the fact that I knew I had limited carry-on room). Try the Chinese Tea cookie (I'm sorry, I can't keep saying kookie). It's the only soft one I found, and it went really well with coffee. Don't worry about your little bags getting crunched either - the nice lady will put them in a box for you. It's not an hours long excursion, but it's worth a stop if you in the area. And hey, why not visit the Kauai Coffee Co afterward and get your free coffee sample on?

The tour itself was conducted on a really cool converted truck with safari style, open air seating, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Our tour guide, Lisa, was absolutely incredible. My wife and I are both huge coffee lovers, and getting the chance to see where the magic happens gave us an entirely new level of appreciation for the coffee we drink every day. The tour was informative, relaxing, and genuinely fascinating from start to finish. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Kauai. As an added bonus, taking the tour also gave us a nice discount on coffee and gift shop products afterward. We would gladly come back again in the future, that is, if it is still around! If you know, you know. Kaua'i Coffee Company deserves to be protected at all costs! We also got to name one of the horses Chino! Like cappuccino!

Now their product is available everywhere, and this location in central Kauai is now the biggest coffee farm in the United States. My wife and I were in the area, so stopped in for a visit between breakfast and lunch time. The stop became an enjoyable visit. We were the first ones there, so waited in the large parking lot for it to open by 09:00. Inside the visitor center, there is a sampling table (choice of 4 coffee flavors), a gift shop, a small museum, and a cafe while the outside has a self-guided walking path. All are free to enter/use. Nothing in the retail store interested us, but we did share a coffee float ($5.99) made from two scoops of macadamia nut ice cream and Kauai cold brew. It took a bit of time for it to be made, but it was really, really good. Actually thought about getting another one while we walked the outside, but thought better of it. The outside walk takes about 25 minutes to complete, if stopping to read all signs (less than 10 signs) and actually admire each outdoor display. We came in late April, so the coffee plants still had their flower blooms which was a cool sight. Later, we discovered and completed a Pokemon Go route, forever etching our visit and walk into the game. Even then, our entire visit took less than 90 minutes.

I was so happy when my girlfriend introduced me to Aloha Sweet Delites' manju and baked goods. It's delish! So worth it was my impromptu stop. What a delicious hidden gem. In addition to their tasty manju, the cinnamon twists I purchased lasted me a few minutes because I inhaled the whole bag in one sitting. Yummy and a full tummy! Their cinnamon mini toasts are also another addicting treat. Times a convenient affair when Aloha Sweet Delites is not only a bakery but also in tandem as a great mini grocery store. Case and point: I found their corn nuts insanely addicting after the first kennel was chewed loudly lol. I'd definitely frequent this bakery-convenience store whenever in the area. There were so many other baked goods I didn't get to try but will remedy that in the foreseeable future. Only regret is my inability to enjoy their honeydew tapioca if I was to avoid an allergic reaction to the melon. Will wait for another melon or fruit tapioca.
