Cool coffeehouse in a strip mall. Edgy and modern appearance. Music track playing. Staff was nice enough but there was an unusual delay between getting stuff that we had ordered. Two breakfast sandwiches came out first, followed by the Nutella crepe about 8 minutes later. The iced latte was up at the counter within a minute or two and the pour-over coffee came up ten minutes later. Not the end of the world, lost a star there. Maybe a touch pricey as well but hey it's Hawaii! The rest was great. Menu quality, food and beverage taste and presentation was all very good. I'd stop here again.

Cute coffee shop with a lovely interior space. Seems like a great place to get work done, chat with friends, or just sit in a corner writing yelp reviews with great coffee and food options. They had a nice selection of latte / specialty drink options which my partner enjoys, as well as pourovers using local beans which is up my alley. The staff was friendly and warm, definitely a great place to stop by for coffee.

Super cute coffee truck with fun options! They have typical coffee/lattes and specialty lattes. I wasn't sure what to get, so I asked which one was their favorite and they told me the Nene is the most popular. You can also customize, so I made mine more like a banana foster. Really delicious, I would go back! Reasonably priced, just under $13 for 2 medium specialty lattes. They also have muffins. There is a seating area, some benches and you can listen to the roosters as you wait for your coffee. Staff was SO friendly. They walked us through the drink options and yell your name when ready.

Expanded daily pastry options

New location, more food options, same quality drinks and super friendly service! Their new spot on Rice street is conveniently located in Lihue and features plenty of indoor seating. They now offer hot breakfast and lunch options like breakfast burritos, crepes, and daily soups! With more space they also have more pastries available every day which is great for those of us who have previously gone to the trailer at 8:30 only to find the muffins sold out. Of course we will miss the cute Kalaheo trailer, but we are so happy to have another great coffee spot in Lihue! I can't wait to try their new smoothies on our next visit! Congratulations Bluebird on this start of a beautiful new chapter!

First time I tried the Ube Matcha Latte, made by the owner--super good! I've also had the haupia syrup matcha over ice with Ube cold foam--sooooo amazing! The Ube muffins to die for. Red velvet brownie--so moist and tasted soooo good! The breakfast food--sandwich and burrito looked sooo good. Just haven't had a chance to order for myself. Maybe next time! The Establishment is newly remodeled and therefore extremely clean. Staff is exceptional--friendly, quick and helpful! Use to drive to kalaheo just for their tea, and now their new Lihue location is so convenient. Unfortunately 2 of the 4 matcha drinks I've ordered were just okay. I know they have many new employees, so I'll give it more time. Or maybe it's time for me to try other drinks.

All locals but us, definitely not tourist place as it's off the main road by only a few blocks. Although the menu is small I was able to customizing my drink. Very friendly both staff and locals. Crookie is a croissant/ cookie was awesome! Outside seating was pleasant.

This place is right down the road from where we stay, and I wish we went sooner in our trip because this coffee was delicious!!! The service was prompt and all the workers were friendly! If we weren't on the go, this would've been a great place to sit and enjoy our coffee, plenty of seating!

Eilope?? Signature drink. Savory muffin with caramelized onions and a chocolate chip scone.

The pudding was just a tiny bit greasy but the flavor was great and not overly sweet--I still ate the whole cup by myself in one quick sitting, yum! I would have loved more bananas in the pudding, but I did like how they were cut up into small pieces so the focus stayed on the pudding. Service was friendly and they had a whole tray of banana pudding ready to go. I got a banana matcha and a bagel sandwich while my friend got a banana bread and black coffee with coconut syrup. My portion was $21 for the matcha and the sandwich. I thought the matcha was decent! The banana flavor is a syrup and it reminds me of the banana candies. The matcha wasn't too milky. The bagel sandwich lacked flavor for me. I might just be too used to salt but I did find that the egg portion wasn't super flavorful. I did appreciate that the bagel was quite soft. Overall, it was alright! There is plenty of free parking in the area. The lines can get long even at 7 am on the week day.

We enjoyed: -Hawaiian Vanilla Latte - half sweet was the perfect balance -Americano with steamed cream - Kauai Latte-- Maybe I don't know what I'm looking for in a Mac nut syrup but I didn't notice any unique flavors...but it was still delish. But let's talk about the TOAST! They all looked SO GOOD. I narrowed it down to two: the avocado toast deluxe or the eggy toast. The eggy toast is more like an egg salad. Even though I think any time of day is a good time for egg salad, I went with the deluxe because microgreens and pickled red onions have a hold on me. While I've had variations of this toast at home and in my hometown, I've never tried it with chili. My lips were burning a bit, so if you are a sissy with heat, you might want to opt for no or reduced sauce. I left with no regrets...except that I should have come sooner than our last day on Kauai...and I should have grabbed an eggy toast to go!

It was sooo tasty, caramel and coconut creamy heaven. The coffee had great flavor and wasn't bitter or watered down. It was the perfect pick me up after landing in Kauai at 9:30am. We also tried the bagels, including the Jimmy Pesto on a rosemary bagel and the Brahvocado with added pesto cream cheese on an everything bagel. The bagels were fresh and had the perfect chew and crisp to them. The pesto cream cheese was full of flavor. There are indoor seating available and they also have a to-go window outside that you can pick up mobile orders if you're in a hurry. That being said, this felt like one of the few third wave coffee shops that exists on the island. I didn't get any pastries, but they looked really good. The decor was great. It was a light wood accented sterile floor concrete look. I gotta say, I love that kind of vibe. The service was great! It was a little busier when we walked in, and there were a few people in line, but it moved quickly, and we ordered promptly as such. We stopped by on a Tuesday around 8:30AM and got our pick of malasadas to try out! Kauai Bakery is located in a shopping plaza with plenty of ample parking, making it very easy to stop by and grab some delicious pastries. Service is like your typical bakery, you pick what you would like and they get it to you so you can stuff your face immediately after purchase. Ambiance is cozy with plenty of pastries to pick from in the large display case. We got 4 flavors of Malasadas for $16, which is $4 per doughnut, which I think is a decent price for the size and heft. The flavors we sampled were Lilikoi, Coconut, and Guava - out of these flavors, the coconut one was my personal favorite! The flavor was exactly what I would want anything coconut cream flavor should taste, creamy texture with a pleasant coconut taste that didn't taste artificial at all. It captured the floral background taste that is missing from a lot of coconut desserts that makes coconut so pleasing to eat! The Lilikoi one was my next favorite, it had a slight tartness and a more subtly pronounced flavor - I think I was looking for something stronger personally. Lastly was the guava one, which actually tasted a bit artificial and didn't have a pronounced flavor at all, which was unfortunate. Despite this critique, I would still glady inhale 2 or 3 of them because the dough was really pillowy and really enjoyable to eat. I think that the pastries here (at least the malasadas) are very solid and priced competitively vs most things here on Kauai. I would totally come back to get several more of the malasadas as well as try the other pastry options on the menu. Stop by and give this bakery a try if you are in the area!
