I come here 5 days out of the week, and have gold status in the app, almost black. I came in today asking for an ice water like I normally do, the staff knowing me as a usual customer give it to me. I had already had my coffee today, and didn't want more caffeine. I needed water because it's a hot day. The "coffee master" or whatever she is, with curly hair and glasses. Told me that I had to buy something, but she would let me for free this one time. I responded saying "oh yeah I'm a usual customer and you guys always give me water because I spend a lot of money here". She responded saying "sounds like abusing kindness", and then told her coworker "on second thought, don't give him any water". I won't be going to this Starbucks, ever again. Or any Starbucks for that matter. She just lost the company thousands of dollars in revenue from me, my family and friends. All because I needed some water. The Starbucks next door gave me water right away. I understand policy, but a "coffee master" should know her regulars, and allow them to have water in return for their constant purchases every week. This Starbucks location is really great. The service is fast, efficient, and friendly. I work in the complex where this Starbucks is located. The staff here is really amazing I love when I walk in they know you by name! I feel like Norm on Cheers! Also this location is open until 9:00 PM on weekdays perfect if I need an after work pick me up. I also love my little messages on my cups! My other pick me up. The Starbucks crew are all aware of my addiction to the San Francisco 49ers. I see Bang Bang Niner Gang on my cup or Go Niners. I enjoy talking to them too very friendly and energetic people. I also love their choice of music everything from the current Holiday playlist but I hear 1980's classics, R&B, and everything else in between. Keep up the good work crew! read more

Perfect sbux a block off 880 and I'm back track. This plaza was busy with mobile orders the bagel shop next door. The baristas all seemed to work quickly and joked with one another, as they got drunk after mobile order done and lined up. I really liked the open corner spot location of this cafe, but I didn't come to hangout, so I wouldn't mind going back here to work. I really like this Starbucks location! It's big, clean and appears updated. Plenty of seating inside and outside and seems like a fun spot to catch up with friends, study, or get some work done. They had some games like connect 4 and dominos on the table which is such a thoughtful gesture. I ordered a matcha latte and the cashier wanted to let me know they changed the formula recently and might taste different which is such good customer service. They also had samples of their pistachio cream cold brew (really yummy) which I LOVED. I don't see Starbucks servicing samples that often. The staff spend a lot of time talking among themselves while making drinks, and unfortunately the quality isn't consistent. Too often my order is made with the wrong milk or an ingredient is left out altogether. Considering how expensive the drinks are, I expect more attention to detail. Went next door to order a bagel, during our wait decided to walk to Starbucks to get a drink. Well the door has hand written signs to use the other door, which is their emergency exit (handwritten note) door and all the way around the building. Come inside with no one waiting at the register. Ordered drinks and decided to use the restroom. It was soo dirty and no toilet paper, someone put napkins. Took a minute to get our drinks, as I noticed all the mobile orders... the staff was nice and my sons drink was made before mine... although mine was simply iced coffee... it was a few minutes after my sons drink was made... With the small parking lot available, and literally 8 parking spots ... I don't think I would specially choose this location... normally the cleanliness of the bathroom gives an idea of how clan a kitchen is kept and I was not impressed. read more

The drinks are as good as any other Starbucks, but it seems like the staff have difficulty keeping up and properly managing rush times. I've ordered here several times and had issues maybe 50%. My last online order, they ran out of an item (a simple biscotti) and instead of notifying me I had to ask the cashier for it or a refund. Who would've thought that it would be so difficult to pick up an online order? My plan of being in and out was botched when I arrived a few minutes past the "ready" time and my drink wasn't there. I went to the register line, since the barista ignored me, which defeated the purpose of the mobile app order and the cashier was dumbfounded...another lady stepped in to say that the order wasn't ready, but they will get it ready right away. I wait at the pick up area for almost five minutes and people who arrived after me got their drinks. Something wasn't right, so I asked the barista and he said, "Oh," and made it wrong, within less than a minute so horrible quality. Since I had my infant with me and I didn't want to wait and write it out for them, I just took the drink and left. No apologies or admittance to their faults, but an "Oh." Most Starbucks are pleasant, but this one was so disorganized and unprofessional. I mean, it is only coffee and you can't even get that right. The only thing I grip about is its a smaller Starbucks and always runs out of the pastries I like or don't have what I want, and they close earlier than other Starbucks. I've been here a couple of other times where service has lacked but today is ridiculous. I ordered a iced caramel macchiato with an extra pump and also extra caramel drizzle and a lemon loaf cake. It took about 6 mins for the drink and didnt know it was mines because my name was written totally different.. then I waited 12 mins for my lemon loaf after I got my drink. She said oh I'm sorry I'll get it right now, then decides to get one out and put in inside of the Starbucks food sleeve WITH the plastic wrap STILL ON! What type of service is this? I visit Starbucks EVERY DAY in Palo Alto on my way to work I always recieve great customer service and have never received ANY of my pastries pre wrapped! Very poor customer service. Today, prior to my run I decided to stop in for some fuel for my friend and I. I thought it was soooo cute and sweet that they added these cute "thank you" stickers. Believe it or not that small gesture was uplifting for my friend and I. During this time we are in panic or for like turtles so that tiny little THANK YOU goes along way. I like this Starbucks...but what I like better...is that the baristas know my name! And there's nothing better than that...occasionally they get it wrong, but who doesn't? For the most part my orders are right and if they aren't they will make them right. Spencer is a dynamo, and love when he is making my coffee! Sometimes it seems that they don't quite get the service part and the area where the cream, sugar and napkins are is dirty..sometimes just downright nasty...I think that needs to be looked at and they need to do better! It is hard to be a service worker and make everyone happy...and so I don't know that I could do much better...that is probably why I never did this type of work. This Starbucks used to be so enjoyable to order from. I don't know what's happened recently but every time I order my coffee on my phone when I arrive it is not ready and I have to wait. Every single time. They also ok many occasions have not given me my bakery order and even have closed the doors when I ordered on my phone so I couldn't get my coffee even though I had paid for it. At least once a week they are out of almond milk and you can't count on getting a breakfast sandwich there either. I can't believe that my first review on this Starbucks was on 9/4/12! I am here every morning of every day, and sometimes even in the evenings. Addicted much? :) I love the morning crew!!! From Leo (Manager), to Samy, Alix, Will, Victoria, Jo and all of the other baristas! They are pretty amazing people that go out of their way to make your drink tasty and brighten up your morning. They are a big reason why I have been so loyal to this Starbucks for years. Not sure about the bad reviews that talk about a drive thru? There is no drive thru here, my guess is that they have the wrong Starbucks... Parking can be tough, but be ingenious. I have parked on the residential streets and walked over. Everyone could use a little exercise! One thing about this Starbucks that is impressive is their ability to fulfill my work's massive order (25+ drinks) and it's always right and tastes great.
