I like Starbucks coffee and think the quality is good. It's a good, strong cup of coffee that I drink black. I recently stopped in the Gloucester location and was a little disappointed because the music was just too loud. I asked the person there to maybe turn it down a little bit, two people in my party complained that it was too loud and they couldn't hear each other, and we were sitting right across from each other. You go to Starbucks with friends to talk, and when you can't even hear them it's frustrating. Okay, I get it. Background music. But it really should just be that - music in the background. After I was greeted by the sweet guy at the window (I believe his name was Cal) who had my 3 drinks already in a tray and perfectly made..... someone stopped short at a green light and my 90 year old client's 3 ($6+) drinks went flying. When I called (almost in tears) the Manager, didn't catch her name, was super sweet and made them right away for me! So grateful! read more

After a four hour long whale watch tour (which was awesome by the way, look for my other review!), or party of four wanted a restroom break and coffee. Enter, Starbucks which was a six minute drive. At 5:45 pm, the cafe was quiet. We wanted the blonde roast freshly brewed coffee but unfortunately they only brew it until 1 pm and were out. So we got the regular medium roast with a splash of milk in our own cup. When we tasted it, however, it was almost cold. I spoke to the person at the register and she was very understanding and mentioned that it must have been from a pot brewed earlier. She replaced the coffee with a fresher one which was very nice of her. However, this one wasn't hot either. Boo hoo. I didn't want to go back so we just took it. The coffee tasted bitter too, like it was brewed for too long. No amount of sugar helped. And just an FYI, the restroom was in just ok condition. GREAT Starbucks - friendly staff and great service 7 days a week/364 days a year! Thank you to the Team here in Gloucester! it was awesome when you opened and you have made our mornings special (my son, his dog and me)!!! EVERYONE here is always kind, friendly and quick! You recognize me and start my order with a short black dark roast and a pup cup, you always go out of your way to make my experience a very nice one...plus my order is always accurate and my coffee is nice and hot! Although my coffee is savored i.e.: it's my treat after my morning workout, it's my son's dog Brody who is the winner! I get him a "Pup" cup every day and to watch the thrill in him, waiting anxiously for me to get home, runs up and down the steps, brings me a toy, sits, gives me a kiss and when i say "break" he goes right after it! It's a show to be seen and my son, husband and I all get the biggest laugh every day! The other day it took Brody almost 3 minutes to finish his "Pup" cup! A huge heartfelt THANKS go out to the Manager & staff of Gloucester Starbucks! As with many businesses during the Pandemic, this place has suffered from trying to keep both employees & the public SAFE whilst dealing w/staffing shortages; reduced hours; food & supply shortages (which continue to date), and the ever present dealings w/the public both pleasant & not so pleasant. Despite these challenges, they have remained a top notch customer service experience. Always kind and friendly - never a defiant or defeated attitude! Fast & efficient service w/a smile. Being kind (& patient!) is what helps everyone during this difficult time. It's not easy. All the above being said, (BTW the food is good), just LOOK at MY DRINKS in the pictures! Do they truly need an explanation? Delicious!!!!! I' ve upgraded from 4 stars to 5 . Deserved - because they have not only prevailed, they continue to improve and impress. read more

Obviously this day they are understaffed. 20 minute wait to get a coffee drink. Order was made iced when I had specified hot. Had to wait another 7 minutes while the barista had to try to make drinks and tend the register as well. More help needed. Not the barista's fault. I really felt for her today. read more

I'm so happy that Gloucester finally scored a Starbucks. Although I live elsewhere now, I remember being totally envious of places that got one and sad when they tried and it didn't work out. I went to this location's drive-thru on Sunday afternoon. No line of cars, no real wait. Cal served us and was very friendly. I liked his enthusiasm. I ordered a vanilla sweet cream cold brew. It came out fast, really no wait at all when I was there. It was just okay - I've had better and wished it had tasted a bit creamier. Still good and strong but it was missing that wow creaminess that I expect from the sweet cream cold brew. But that's just a minor complaint. All in all, I'm happy for my friends in the area that they have a Starbucks and I'm there fairly often so I'll definitely stop in again. read more

Hands down the best coffee on Cape Ann. Cape Ann has several local coffee shops that have offered mediocre coffee to their patrons and tourists for too long. It's unfortunate that a mega chain has to fill the void but I am grateful for the addition. This brand new sparkling store is easily accessible and right next door to all of your shopping desires. This location is so efficient and the staff are all very kind. Even when there's a long line, they get orders out quickly and accurately--I have never had any issues with my order. And they're just so nice! When you're at the window, they're amiable and make sure they ask if you need straws, napkins, drink carrier, etc. They are clearly very organized and have great attention to detail. read more

Customer service tip- when people are willing to wait almost 40 minutes in the drive-through line on Mother's Day - instead of just closing with only six cars left and telling those people just to leave -you might want to send someone out and give them a heads up who the last car will be. Let people know- or take those last 6 cars- anything would haven been better. Just poor customer service. Not good. read more

I know this is newly opened, and busy especially with the drive through. But I am significantly less than thrilled with my experience. I ordered through the app and went inside to pick up. I went to the sign that said "Pick up here" and has the black risers where they put the drinks. No drinks ever appeared there. I sat down to wait, knowing they were busy. Twenty minutes after sitting down, I watched a girl who had also been waiting look suspiciously at some drinks that were behind a ticket printer where they were prepping the food for the drive through. Sure enough, those were the app-ordered drinks. I went over, mine was there, and I have no idea how long it was sitting behind the ticket printer. The foam had sunk to the bottom. I went to the cashier and asked if it was possible to have it remade, given that the drink was hidden and on a counter being used for the drive through. (I asked politely because I don't need anyone spitting in my drink, and also I always feel guilty asking for things like that, even when it's the right thing to do.) They remade it but the cashier was clearly put out. In the remade drink, they didn't blend the cream enough to foam (the main feature of the drink), but I wasn't about to ask again to have it remade. I sit back down, take a seat... and my drink is truly terrible. The cold brew somehow managed to taste burnt, the cream had no flavor (not even of cream). It's a drink I order often, so it's not like I just had different expectations than what it actually tastes like-- it's not at all like the drink I've had at any other location. Maybe this location will improve with time; I'll give it a few months before I try it again. If it does improve, I'll happily update my review. read more
