This is a great little spot in Salem. Definitely a grab and go spot with only a few barstools in the entryway. We just needed a quick little pick me up while exploring and grabbed a couple of drinks and a grilled cheese. I ended up getting an iced chai latte and it was great. They made the drinks so fast here that I had barely any wait. The grilled cheese came out and in a fit of hunger, we scarfed it down quick. It was so good!! The bread was toasted perfectly and it was the perfect quick lunch. The space was great, staff was friendly, and the food/drinks were tasty. My friend and I popped into Brew Box for an afternoon pick me up and we immediately loved the wall mural that said "Drink Better Coffee". Indeed, we did. We ordered the Salted Maple Latte and the Brown Butter Pumpkin Latte. I'm usually an iced coffee gal, but this hot latte really warmed me up during this cold day of sightseeing. It was the perfect amount of sweetness to strong coffee ratio and my friend really liked hers as well. There are no tables inside for sitting, you order at the counter and then take your drink to go. The inside is also really small, so I can see how Brew Box can get very crowded during the busy rush. Service was fun and friendly - the drinks came out somewhat quickly - it was a busy day. During my trip to Salem this was one of the coffee shops in the area that wasn't swarming with witchy tourist, which was a pleasant surprise. We were looking for a pick me up at the halfway point of our tour through the city and I finally decided to be brave and try out the polar seltzer ades (lemonade seltzers - non alcoholic). The strawberry flavor I had was surprisingly good, so now I finally have a seltzer that I like! My friend in the spirit of it being fall got her PSL, which she really enjoyed. The Brew Box team was super quick with churning out her drink order along with some of the other people that had ordered ahead of us. Went during the busy time and even though they were slam packed they got drinks and food out fairly fast. Definitely have to try their specialty drinks they are worth it. Brew Box is filled with genuinely nice people. it's a hole-in-the-wall in the best sense, only because it's a physically small space meant to be for grab-and-go, as the inside doesn't contain seating. It's walkable in downtown Salem, meaning if you're hitting nearby shops, it's quite easy to include this charming coffee shop on your route. This small but mighty menu has both coffee and tea options, which this tea gal deeply appreciated. They also offer a small breakfast menu of sandwiches. The inside is super photogenic and filled with cool, hand-drawn artwork on the walls, which of course makes you immediately happy. Its extremely photogenic and filled with good vibes. It's an easy spot to love. The line was out the door on a pleasant fall day but the staff kept it moving cheerfully. Downtown Salem is not for the faint of heart but the staff always had a smile on their face while dealing with some difficult tourists. The coffee here is delicious and their sign stating "drink better coffee" should be taken literally. Brew Box is an easy win on your walking tour of Downtown Salem. read more

There are so many coffee shop options in Salem, and this was a great one. The Americano had really good flavor. A lot of fun other drinks on their menu (cereal milk latte! So creative). Even their breakfast burrito is unique and 100% made to order (had tzatziki and chicken sausage). It is a small little shop, so not really a place you can hang out, but it is a good stop. Stopped into this little shop for lunch one day upon arriving for a weekend visit in Salem. The line was intimidating, but moved quickly. My friend and I both ordered a coffee and a pesto grilled cheese. Both were out of this world!!! We were so impressed, that we came back the next morning to get coffee and a pastry. During both visits, the staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions. If I lived here, I would be here every day! I stumbled upon the Brew Box while searching for a spot to get a quick breakfast during my morning stop in Salem. I chose a hot chai and a cinnamon roll. Both were good but the cinnamon would have been better warmed up. I'm not sure if it's an option here but no one asked me. They had a great system set up during covid where someone would come out and take your order, then you would go in an pay at a table and pick up your coffee or they'd bring it out. I've had multiple good experiences here over the last few months. The first time I had a solid Iced Vanilla Latte, and my friend enjoyed her Iced Cereal Milk Latte. The second time I had an Iced Dirty Chai, which wasn't the best I've had, nor was it the worst. My friend had a hot Americano, and she was happy with her decision. The second visit, we both got Cinnamon Rolls that we saved and ate later that night for dessert. Honestly, they were yummier than I expected them to be. I don't know if Brew Box made them in house or if they outsourced them, but they were pretty good. The servers are always friendly. The coffee comes out quickly, but if you order food, it'll take a little bit, which seems pretty standard. There isn't really a place to eat inside unless you sit on their little window ledge, but there are plenty of places to sit and eat outside in the surrounding area. read more

Swung by Brew Box on a very busy October Saturday as the line didn't look too long and we needed a coffee and lunch break. We went from the front door to the counter in about 10 minutes and then waited 20 for our food. The team working there was doing their best to push orders quickly. Grabbed coffee beverages and the avocado toast, as well as a pastry from the case. Avo toast was just OK, grocery store level ingredients. Prices were fine.
