Came in on my day of cafe hopping around Salem for matcha, and {spoilers} they were all about the same with this one being the close winner. Which to my palette, as someone who loves matcha and regularly gets it in Bay Area CA, was around a 6/10. That said, I ordered an iced matcha latte with their house-made Lavender syrup, which was refreshing and had a lovely floral-lavender flavor but not much matcha flavor. Pros: - fresh-whisked matcha - very friendly and fast staff - decent amount of seating for the space and a nice ambiance - compostable cups etc - a nice Free Pantry and Swap cabinet for the community! Cons: - lack of matcha flavor in latte

We stopped by this coffee house on our morning walk because my partner is the coffee drinker out of the two of us. It was super crowded, which made it clear it's a local favorite. Everyone was really nice. They had tons of flavor and dietary options, which as someone who admittedly doesn't like coffee that, well, tastes like coffee, I appreciate. They have a compost bin, which I thought was a cool touch. My partner got a Bee's Knees which is espresso, milk, and honey ($6.70) and really enjoyed it. The signs are hand written and it has a pretty hip vibe to it. We'd go back again.

Located across the water on the wharf part of Salem, this tiny, adorable coffee shop offers breakfast sandwiches, some snacks and pastries, as well as coffee and tea. Highly recommend, the lady at the cash register was super friendly, and it is a quick walk from the Seven Gables museum or 15 minute walk from downtown.

Server was just there to do a job. The coffee was delicious. Restroom was clean. Nice place to stop and rest over a cup of coffee.

Salem, MA - We needed a little afternoon pick me up after walking around this charming town. We ordered a pumpkin spice latte and a cold brew coffee. The cold brew was hands down our favorite drink. Service was fast and very friendly. Prices were quite reasonable. Shout out to a fellow Ohioan who mixed our drinks! We appreciated the kind service and the fact that they compost their waste. Thanks for taking care of customers AND Mother Earth.

We skipped breakfast in Boston so we could try out a breakfast spot in Salem. This place wasn't too far from the harbor so we decided to check it out. No one was there when we went it in so we had time to take a look at the menu. My wife had the veggie special with a matcha. I had the lox bagel. Lox bagel was pretty good. My wife found the veggie special "unspecial." She said it was too plain. Perhaps getting the hummus instead of the avocado would have made a difference. The interior is small and they "borrow" the outside seats from the bar next door. May be worth checking out other items.

Lovely little coffee shop in Salem. We were just visiting and stopped here for breakfast and coffee. The latte I got was excellent, as was the breakfast sandwich. My partner got the bagel with lox, also a good choice!

Super cute coffee shop with very kind employees. The plants are gorgeous and the coffee was so good.

The sandwich lives up to its reviews and the coffee was great. The inside of the shop is very cute and cozy, with a few seats and a little library. But what impressed me the most is the service...the people were some of the nicest we've met on our travels.

WND was on my list of places to try on my visit to Salem earlier this year, and it didn't disappoint! Coffee was great, ambiance was amazing, and the overall experience was welcoming and genuine. 10/10 recommend!

Lovely; great coffee, great food. One barista, one cook, small, easy. Down near the water. Loved it, went twice on our vacation to Salem.

I was so impressed with this place!…read more My mom wanted to go for her bday dinner...the catch is her birthday was 5 days before Halloween! I agreed assuming we'd have to wait hours due to the October Salem craziness. I was wrong. We arrived and were greeted immediately by a very kind host. He explained that there was a 45 minute wait and he'd be happy to add our names to the waitlist. We went for a walk and about 20 minutes later he called and our table was ready. Our server came over immediately and took our drink order. I was thrilled that they had bottled coke as I don't drink alcohol, but it still felt like a treat! We split the Caesar salad to start and it was delicious. We expected a longer wait for the food but it came very quickly. For my entree, I got the Jean Louis sandwich. I don't think I even have words for how good this was. Seriously...I've been thinking about this sandwich ever since and craving it! my mom got the fall vegetable panzanella. She said it was absolutely delicious. You can tell they value the quality of food they put out and put their hearts into every recipe. And the potions are huge. We both had leftovers for the next day. Everything from the atmosphere, service, and food were 10/10. I always love supporting a local business and this is one I cannot wait to go back to.

(They clearly saw me there; we made eye contact and the one guy wasn't even doing anything.) After about 10 to 15 minutes of waiting with no service, we were about to leave when a server finally came to our table. Since they were obviously busy and weren't keeping up with the crowd that night, we tried to order two drinks each so they could save a little of their time and we could relax without worrying about if a server was going to take our order again before the end of the week. The server very sharply said that he was NOT going to give us two drinks at a time, CERTAINLY not with drinks of this high alcohol content. We ordered one drink each, cashed out and bounced. The cocktail I got was fine; I could make a slightly worse version at home at a fraction of the price (or even two at once!). We we were told later by a friendlier Salemite at a bar with a better vibe that there is a Massachusetts state law that prohibits having two drinks at once at a bar. Fair enough. Had our server told us that, unfortunately, he wasn't allowed to give us two drinks at once -- instead of making us feel like idiots/degenerates for daring to ask -- we probably would have dropped a lot of vacation money there that night. Oh well; we had a great time at the other places we went.
