I typecast Starbucks as a delightful experience most, if not every time! However I did not get this experience from this location. The service was short and not as joyful as majority of the Starbucks I go to. I overlooked that factor since who knows, the guy could be having an off day. I got tea and a water and the Asian guy said to me "we don't do waters in drive through." This was after I asked very politely "could I bother you to get me a water as well etc..." so I told him "Oh REALLY... I do this EVERY time." ONLY then he finally gave me my water... Holy crap water is FREE. Is it that hard to provide something as simple as WATER for your Gold Member customers? "Gold Members" spend thousands of dollars annually to provide his actual JOB, so I have no idea why this basic, entitled guy was not being a gentleman for something as quick, easy, and simple as getting someone water. I'm not a big fan of *$, so this review may be a bit biased. For some inexplicable reason, I found I had a hankering for "pumpkin spice latte", without even knowing exactly what that meant. There's only one way in and out of the parking lot; the spaces are too close together. There's only one way in and out of the store. The staff was slightly too nice. "What can I get started for you?" I don't know what the hell "tall", "grande" "venti" mean; I just wanted a medium. The coffee was adequate; got some banana bread to go with, it was adequate. read more

I'm stoked on this place - what is wrong with everyone? PICKY PICKY - Maybe it's because I am a mother of two kids that I would have to drag out of car seats. Then, you'd find me chasing them around inside, gently replacing any Horizon milks or Apple Juice boxes that they grabbed ahold of. It's a totally small parking area, true. But I never intend on parking :) Besides, there is only a total of 4 shops (including Starbucks) that will be doing business in this "shopping center." If there is a wait, I generally won't mind, because hopefully, my kids have fallen asleep and I can play on my iPhone while I (never have had to) wait in line. If I'm going to Starbucks during "Peak" times, I have to make allowances for that and decide if it's worth it. Everyone is coming here. It's new. I (SCARY) get two coffees a day, and I've never run into any of these issues. I'm sure if you planned on getting out and going inside, you could absolutely have the issues my fellow yelpers have described, but I hate getting out, so that will never apply to me. There is no such thing as too much caffeine! The line moves amazingly fast for a busy location. One of the busier Starbucks locations I frequent but they are friendly and quick. They also get my drinks right 90% of the time which is high compared to other locations. So tips for this location... Starbucks just raised their prices :-( If the cars are wrapped around parallel to the Verizon store its about 10 minutes. If the car line is wrapped back around to the Starbucks front door 15-20 minutes. Come on I know it seems like a long wait but its about normal when you consider that every order is "special" - nothing can be pre-made for the "rush." I have tried to go in before to beat the line but somehow that rarely works out in my favor. The drive thru workers seem to work faster than the counter employees i don't know why *shrugs shoulders.* Parking lot: An effin wanker obviously designed it. obviously i appreciate and respect starbucks workers who have actually been going to work throughout all of quarantine and risking their health. But this is 100% my least favorite starbucks, workers are nice most of time but my order gets messed up somehow every single time. For some reason my drink is always more expensive than any other locations and then on top of that they don't make what I asked for. Customer service wise the staff is great. Went through the drive thru and was surprised how quick I made it to the front. Reason why I'm giving three stars is because my drink was not made right. I asked for a grande iced Carmel macchiato with an extra pump of vanilla. I didn't pay attention to the drink until I drove away . When I picked up my drink I noticed that it looked a lot lighter than usual so I mixed it thinking maybe that was why. But unfortunately it just became lighter. I know he grande comes with two espresso shots and it seems like they only put one espresso shot. In the pictures you can't really tell but the color was a very light milky color. And the taste is basically moly with vanilla and a tiny taste of caffeine. read more

I ordered a Venti Ice Latte in the drive-thru & when I got to the window, they said it was $3.95 so I realized they thought I ordered a Grande. I asked for Venti, which they then charged me for, then watched them dump the Grande into a Venti cup & add milk. It of course looked very pale so I told them "that won't work for me, you can't just add milk". So in a huff they remade the drink & the girl glared at me when handing me the "remake" which turned out to be a Venti soy latte with extra sweetener - undrinkable. I understand mistakes happen but the solution was what earns them 1 star. I drove to another Starbucks (Oceanside drive-thru) & they were kind enough to dispose of the drink & remake it properly. Either avoid this drive-thru or double-check they got your order right before it's made. They do not have the order displayed on-screen like other Starbucks drive-thrus. read more

I've come to the location many times on the way to work and lately they have been off their game. I've gotten the wrong drinks all together, drinks cold instead of hot and food that should've been warmed but wasn't. Usually I go through the drive thru because I'm on the way to work, but most recently I went in with my husband and it wasn't that great. We were the first ones in line and orders our drinks which took longer than a long line of other customers behind us- even though some of them ordered cold brews like we did. And then multiple people kept getting their food and we had both ordered sandwiches and were waiting for around 10 mins. I asked and the girl straight up said," oh sorry we forgot". We were in a rush that which was unfortunate because we could have been in and out rather quickly had they done their job correctly but a 10 min visit max took around 15-20. I'm still going to come here but I'll just make sure everything is right before taking off. read more

Awful business. I ordered from Uber eats and they forgot every single food item. Spent $40 for one coffee. When I called, they made zero attempt to rectify their mistake. Told me to fix it through Uber eats even though it was their fault. I understand it was a third party vendor, but I've had a place forget only one item before and send me a gift card for their error. Or they at least offered to comp the next time I came. They didn't want to do anything to help me or even seem to care. The supervisor on duty kept getting distracted on the call and said that the staff that was there when this happened had already left. I get missing one item, but how do you miss 4 food items and send one coffee on a $40 purchase. I will never go there again! read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS! This is not my first visit to this location, but it certainly will be my last. Went through the drive-thru with my girlfriend this morning on her way to work, around 10:15am. The woman taking the orders was EXTREMELY RUDE. Not once did she ever let me fully get through placing my order before interrupting me with: "will that complete your order?" That was pretty frustrating. Then I get my iced vanilla latte (supposed to have 3pumps of vanilla) It was not even edited on the label of the drink, obviously didn't happen... drink tasted like barely any espresso was in it; mostly milk flavored syrup taste. Anyways, here's the real kicker... BOTH OF OUR BREAKFAST SANDWICHES WERE FREEZING COLD IN THE CENTER OF THE EGG!!! Starbucks management at this location needs to take some SERIOUS extra time with their team members so they can understand the health and safety practices to keep people from getting sick. This location is one of my favorites. I used to live just down the street from it and now I stop by on my way to work most mornings. The morning drive thru lines can get long, so I usually pop inside the shop for faster service. The parking lot can be really tricky to get out of with so many people lined up for the drive thru, so be careful. The staff here are the best and most friendly, one of the drive thru guys always says super corny jokes, it's awesome! I highly recommend this location for a chill place to hang, the inside is very relaxed with little tables arounds. It is a smaller location so tables get full fast. read more

I was really looking forward to the opening of this new Starbucks off of the I-5 and right off the Leucadia exit. There is a Starbucks a mile or so up the road but how convenient was this drive thru store going to be? Well...for me, in my first visit - it was far from it! I went in last week at 12:30pm and sat in the drive through for literally 25 min. Even though I had not rounded the corner to place my order, I was stuck with cars in front and behind me! If you think the parking lots at Trader Joe's stink, visit this one. The neighboring stores aren't even in yet and every single parking spot was taken. It's impossible to turn around once you committed to go down this narrow strip. Finally, the PRIUS that was parked at the end spot was leaving. They had to do a 50 point turn to get out with the drive thru cars blocking most of the road. I quickly swooped into the space, did a similar 50 point turn in my 4 door sedan and then took off!!!! 20 min. in that drive thru and I left without my coffee...FAIL! Maybe if you go during off peak hours, this Starbucks might be a gem but who goes during off peak hours? read more

Far too packed and with new employees, this Starbucks is a cluster. I've been here half a dozen times and every experience seems to just be a mess. I've tried the drive-thru and was disappointed with the slow results -- at least 15-20 minutes to get a coffee is unacceptable. Because of the slow drive-thru times, I've tried to go inside. Just as long a wait and even more frustrating because you are watching them mess up every single order. If you're craving coffee, skip this Starbucks and go to Pannakin right down the street. This Starbucks needs some help... the restrooms are disgusting & have unsanitary conditions. Also I ordered from Katerina or Katarina this morning & she overcharged me. Never apologized and denied what she did until I proved it with the receipt. Then the pastries come out and they are stale, as if they served us the ones from last night!! Katarina has an unpleasant and rude demeanor with the customers, and does not represent Starbucks in a good way, she was very rude and disrespectful to me and my friend. I will never go to the Starbucks again, and I am a local! Literally the last five times I have come to this Starbucks, they were out of basic items like green tea matcha powder, chai mix, etc. Unfortunately, I only find this out when I have already gotten stuck in the huge drive-through line, with no way out. I was absolutely floored when I gave this place one more chance today to get a green tea latte, only to find out as I rolled up to the drive-through order speaker that they were out of matcha powder. I told the woman at the speaker when I was trying to order that this was literally the fifth time I had been to this location and they were out of major items and she pretended to be really bummed out, saying, "Aw!! Bummer! Do you want another drink?". I said, "No thanks. I don't drink coffee and it is my understanding that your location does not carry the low sugar chai anymore." She verified that they did not have that chai anymore and I said, "OK then. Looks like I will just sit in this long line until I can leave." She replied, "Ok!" You would think that after a customer has had so many negative experiences, you would offer her a free drink for next time, or something. Nope. As I rode past the window, the woman taking the orders had her back to the window and was talking to a coworker. I just drove away, extremely frustrated. Get your inventory and customer service together! This location SUCKS! Review for Drive-thru only since I never go in. It's a super busy Starbucks situated right off the freeway. Parking is outrageous here so good luck finding a spot and if you do, good luck getting out since the drive thru line kinda blocks you in. Service is always lightning fast for drive thru, I've been there where it could have been as many as 15-20 cars lining up and I'll be out in less than 15 mins! Pretty impressive! Pros: drive thru, high volume high speed location with a great location right next to 5 fwy. They are speedy. And normally not too busy at night, much quieter than some other locations which is good. This location has everything you could ever want, and then some-- reliable coffee beverages, fresh pastries, attentive and amicable baristas, well-stacked restroom facilities, and thrice-filtered drinking water (complimentary). Not to mention oceanside views and a tastefully-designed outdoor patio area. No complaints here. read more

I love that this is a drive-through Starbucks. Yes the lines are long but they move relatively quickly. I also like that you get a printout sticker on your cup so you can make sure you got the drink that you actually ordered. I find people friendly and willing to help when I go inside also.
