The store is bright, clean, interesting and has practically every book you can imagine. I love the well organized sections. The children's area is lovely and inspiring. Uh I bought a few self help books today because I've been heavily depressed and contemplating taking myself out of this world. I get to the counter and the guy at the registers laughs OUT LOUD to my face and says "people are always wasting their time with these useless books". I was so shocked I just stood there with my mouth open. Luckily, my will to live grows the worse people are to me, so I left the store shocked and mad, but also ready to live longer than that awful man. Maybe train ur associates not to LAUGH IN THE CUSTOMERS FACE. Especially if they're buying books with very clear titles that are not at all subtle about someone struggling with mental health. read more

Manager woman who took our order was very abrupt and carried a very rude tone. She made me uncomfortable while I was ordering our beverages and cookies. No customer service skills. Very nice professional staff. It's a pretty large bookstore and even sells vinyl. A lot of quirky people work at this store, which is a GREAT quality for a bookstore. I love coming here and there's also a Starbucks that sells hot sandwiches, cakes and cookies. The carpet needs to probably be cleaned soon. I've actually memorized the stains by section ‍ NOAHand JESSE are amazing and very knowledgeable. One star off for the carpet. read more

I've always liked the Barnes and Noble Cafe, and I will oftentimes bring my laptop or a notebook and work while I sip on some coffee or eat a small bite. This most recent time, I ordered some green tea lemonade and a margherita flatbread. I really enjoyed both, and I found a small table to setup and do some work on. As Barnes and Noble is generally a quieter store, it is sometimes nice to come to the cafe and read/work as other coffee shops can be fairly noisy. There is an extensive menu of drinks, as it serves Starbucks coffee. But you can use your member discount if you are a Barnes and Noble member, which is quite convenient. read more

I'm pretty sure this is the Starbucks located inside Barnes and Nobles. 1: This Starbucks is not a part of all the other Starbucks locations. Therefore, you cannot use your loyalty card, collect points and/or pay for drinks with your card. 2: The service wasn't too great. I arrived and both employees saw me and proceeded to walk into the back room and continue their conversation without acknowledging me. I waited a minute for one of them to return. 3) After I placed my order, I had to wait 5-10 minutes for my drink to be made and I was the only person waiting. *** I found this location very unorganized and I would not return to buy a drink from them. I also like collecting my points and this purchase didn't work towards both of my bonus star events currently on my card. read more

The beverages are exactly the same as Starbucks but the menu offers a wider selection of pastries and sweets. Not as much on the savory side. Service is super fast and professional. The only downside is that you can't use your Starbucks card and get rewards. 1. YOU'RE KIDDING ME. I came here to work on a project with a classmate knowing it was Starbucks (they have the logo everywhere...) but they don't accept the Starbucks card on your phone... Wtf. 2. I walked up and didn't even receive a hello or welcome. I understand being one person, but it's not that hard to open your mouth and say hi, especially after making eye contact. 3. I usually enjoy coming to this cafe as I am an avid Barnes and Noble fan but this visit was the worst out of all of them. My mom and I ordered our drinks, and they took the order incorrectly. Fine, whatever, so we go up to get our order fixed, then we sit back down. Take one look and we see my mom didn't get her add-ins that come default with the drink. Once again we get our drinks fixed, we sit back down and taste our drinks? Wrong again! That's three times our order was wrong in three separate ways! We also never got our add-ins we paid extra for. AH! What happened to my coffee? I always get my usual- iced coffee with toffee nut and milk! It did not taste so yummy... Parking is pretty awful for this spot- I really don't recommend coming here unless you're already shopping for books and need caffeine. It's not that it's awful, it's just in an awful spot. No real quick in and out, just convenient for the book shoppers! They do however have full sized Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes, and slices. Good to know if you need to get one, but I would avoid if you wanted coffee! read more

Went in to get coffee today and the service was terrible. The bartisas were pretty rude. The guy working at the counter could have been friendlier and the woman making the drinks doesn't bother listening to what you have to say. She just jumps the gun and starts running her mouth. They made my drink wrong and then she told me that she can't give me a free drink. I was not trying to get a free drink, I was simply trying to make your job easier by suggesting something. TERRIBLE She was being rude to the customer ahead of me as well. The customer was an elderly customer which made it worse. read more

So I'm a total closet nerd! I came here looking for two books and came out with four, one of which I got for FREE! I'm a sucker for the classics. No one writes that way anymore. Barnes and noble has an excellent and complete selection of classical literature from my favorites (dickens, Doyle, Wilde, Austin, etc...) The last time I went in I had selected one book that I came in to purchase (Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance) and decided to forgo on the other book. Then I came across the section that makes me weak in the knees, the classical literature display lol. I selected three books from that section (Sherlock Holmes Volume I, The Picture of Dorian Grey, and Dracula). I knew I could only afford two of those three plus my original book with the 25 dollar gift card I had. So I went up to the counter still very indecisive on which I would choose. Much to my relief and great joy, they were having a special: buy two classical literature books, get the third FREE! So I was able to get all 4 books for 24 dollars and some change! Best day ever for an avid reader like me!!! LOVE this place!!! read more

Although I am a big fan of science and technology, I think that it's a shame that book stores are following the path of the mastodons. I have always loved Barnes and Noble, but to be honest, I would rather sit with a homemade cup of coffee in front of my computer shopping online than take the time to visit this café. It simply doesn't have anything to offer that it should. The reason for going to a place like this would be for a social experience but that is sadly lacking here. We usually have solid service here. Coffee is very good and the food offerings are rather varied. I do like being able to just grab my drink and a book and relax. Not a fan of the rude security guards at the door, but thats a B&N problem, which I will address in that review. read more

The power went out at my apartment, so since I had studying to do and the closer Starbucks stores around me would be closing soon, I drove over to Barnes and Noble to study. - When I got there, I couldn't find any place to plug in my computer, so I knew I would only be there for a bit. - It was VERY dirty. Someone had dropped their cup of coffee on the floor sometime prior to my arrival and all that had been done was they had placed the wet floor sign next to the spill and just left it there. - The girls were more interested in their own conversations and although a customer rudely walked up to them to order, they still made the lady wait. I'm a barista as well, and it drives me nuts when people walk up and bark their order at you, but they really weren't doing anything that couldn't have waited until after taking her order. - A mom and her kids got there. Yes, the kids were obnoxious, but the barista behind the counter said pretty loudly "Uh no, I can't take that right now" and kept shooting irritated looks at them. I would have ordered a drink from there but I didn't want to support such awful customer service. I worked for Starbucks before, and they are really giving the brand a bad name. read more

I usually head to this Barnes & Noble after class at MiraCosta--tons of seating space and relatively fast wi-fi. There seems to be some sort of bouncer or something guarding the seating area and walking around looking at everyone suspiciously, kind of weird...but other than that it's a nice store. read more

Fantastic store! Employees are ALWAYS extremely helpful and if they don't have the book I am looking for, it is ordered and they contact me to let me know when it has arrived. Pleasant, nice, kind and friendly staff-NEVER had a problem and I have been going to BnN for YEARS. My grandkiddos LOVE the children's play area and Thomas the train is a hit! (they always get a book whenever accompanying Grand to BnN too! I am a BnN member and SAVE $ on items I purchase. I hope this store never goes away.
