Manager woman who took our order was very abrupt and carried a very rude tone. She made me uncomfortable while I was ordering our beverages and cookies. No customer service skills. I am a member and would like to be able to enjoy my time while being a paying customer. Manager seems to interested in being rude than serving her customers.

Very nice professional staff. It's a pretty large bookstore and even sells vinyl. A lot of quirky people work at this store, which is a GREAT quality for a bookstore. I love coming here and there's also a Starbucks that sells hot sandwiches, cakes and cookies. The carpet needs to probably be cleaned soon. I've actually memorized the stains by section ‍ NOAHand JESSE are amazing and very knowledgeable. One star off for the carpet.

I've always liked the Barnes and Noble Cafe, and I will oftentimes bring my laptop or a notebook and work while I sip on some coffee or eat a small bite. This most recent time, I ordered some green tea lemonade and a margherita flatbread. I really enjoyed both, and I found a small table to setup and do some work on. As Barnes and Noble is generally a quieter store, it is sometimes nice to come to the cafe and read/work as other coffee shops can be fairly noisy. There is an extensive menu of drinks, as it serves Starbucks coffee. But you can use your member discount if you are a Barnes and Noble member, which is quite convenient.

You sell Starbucks, but won't accept their cards?

    1. YOU'RE KIDDING ME. I came here to work on a project with a classmate knowing it was Starbucks (they have the logo everywhere...) but they don't accept the Starbucks card on your phone... Wtf. 2. I walked up and didn't even receive a hello or welcome. I understand being one person, but it's not that hard to open your mouth and say hi, especially after making eye contact. 3. No outlets ANYWHERE. I totally forgot about this, but it's been years and they still won't put any in. 4. They got rid of the big comfy chairs that they used to have. The ONLY reason they aren't getting 1 star is because I love B&N. Step up your game. Either become a Barnes and nobles cafe fully and don't sell Starbucks items, or become Starbucks. I'm so disappointed.

I only come to this cafe to get iced green tea and had to come back because it was not green tea. I was given black tea and when I returned the to let them know the girl at the register insisted she made it and it was green tea. She literally picked up the pitchers to show me the teas and asked if I wanted it made again. Accountability is key and mistakes can be made and I felt like I was made to be in the wrong

This afternoon ago around 3 PM, I sat outside just enjoying my plane on a cold windy day. While siting and just having my coffee minding my own business, i heard a loud scream. It turns out these loud rowdy middle school girls walked past by this coffee place laughing, they saw me for the way I look, of course, I was wearing all black, had eyeliner and black nail polish. I got called "hey emo!" which is a very very demeaning. I have not ever heard anyone call someone that name since high school in a long time since before early 2010s I don't care what anyone else thinks of me, I was not bothered at all. But just in case, i was so nervous but I had very little bit of strength to tell the store manager what happened and had the audacity to shrug it off, " if there's anything else I can do for you." Well, you know what then, since I was harassed and degraded, I will never come back here again. Calling someone "emo" is really degrading, it's derogatory, it's hurtful. it's the same thing to call someone a f@g, it's not OK to call anyone that. Jason was never helpful nor apologetic towards me! I never let any name-calling get to me, but I don't deserve to get hurled out while I was simply sitting outside at the tables alone just having my coffee. Jason can go fuck himself! Fuck you jason! Asshole!!!!!

We got the breakfast plate and a variety of pastries. Breakfast Plate- This is a hearty plate with scrambled eggs, double smoked bacon, roasted potatoes, and sourdough toast. Eggs were fluffy and the roasted potatoes had a nice garlicky and herby flavor. The toast is fresh and tasty. Shoutout to one of the best bacons I've ever had! It was thick, almost like pork belly, with a crisp exterior while remaining juicy inside. Pastries- Their almond croissant is the best I've tried. It's perfectly flaky and buttery, with a generous amount of almond filling and just the right amount of sweetness. The apple pie danish tastes just like the dessert, with a fun, breakfast twist. The cinnamon crumb cake is my favorite! The cake is moisy and crumbly with a thick layer of streusel, finished with powdered sugar. They really know how to balance flavors and sweetness. Great experience overall!

The sausage was juicy, and the egg yolk popped perfectly. While the aioli sauce was a tad on the salty side, the overall sandwich was delicious it literally left flavor all over my mustache! My wife ordered the shakshuka and scrambled right into it with a knife and fork. She broke me off a piece to try, and while nothing specific jumped out at me, I kept hearing her mention how amazing the bread was. In her own words: "A delightful, messy burst of flavor and textures, but the overall dish could have used more tomato sauce--and flatbread is not a sandwich." To drink, we tried the chocolate hazelnut latte, which was sweet, smooth, and pretty tasty. We also finished off our breakfast with a slice of the chocolate hazelnut cake. It was a decent treat that reminded me a bit of a Ferrero Rocher, though a scoop of ice cream on top would have really taken it to the next level (but to be fair, I like ice cream on everything!). The prices were definitely Californian with a side of beachy vibes tax, but the atmosphere was great. To "bum" up this review, we had a toast-ally awesome time and would absolutely come back if we're in the area--next time, we have our eyes on the pizza! Overall: A solid breakfast that made our tummy's dance like my wife when she hears any Bay Area music.

I ordered the one medium size White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino with whipped cream and I also ordered one Albacore Tuna Melt that includes Mayonnaise, and mild melted Cheddar Cheese that is toasted in the oven as a Panini. My total cost was $12.00. This Gold Coast Coffee Shop Is located inside the Westfield Shopping Center Mall in the corner on the second floor across from the J. C. Penny's Department Store. When I was walking towards the front entrance to the Gold Coast Coffee Shop last night , I could smell the aroma of a flavored Iced Frappuccino being made in a blender and being served for one of their customers. I received helpful advice on the different kinds of flavored Coffee Drinks, Chai Teas, Coffee Lattes, and different varieties on the Flavored Cold Frappuccinos that were on their menu board last night. The Gold Coast Coffee Shop also serves really delicious pastries I was staring at these pastries in their clear display case last night. I noticed their breakfast pastries were Strawberry Cream Cheese, Blueberry Cream Cheese, Chocolate, Cinnamon with a white cream cheese icing that was drizzled on top on every one if these yummy looking desserts. The younger woman employee told me she has been working for this Gold Coast Coffee Shop for one year now and she does enjoy working for her manager because she is very respectful and will coordinate with her college schedule. I enjoyed my first time experience drinking their really refreshing and very decadent White Chocolate Frappuccino with the added Whipped Cream Topping. And especially trying one of their very popular and New Albacore Tuna Panini Sandwiches. I told the woman employee that I will come back again when I am shopping at this Carlsbad Westfield Shopping Center Mall soon and rider a new flavor. I received excellent customer service and really delicious flavored FrappuccinoCoffee. This Frappuccino was lightly sweetened. I highly recommend this Gold Coast Coffee Shop.

First, couple months ago, I was left waiting for over 30 mins for a breakfast burrito, I thought they were just busy so I gave grace. I directly reached out via IG and they gave me a $20 to come back, super nice of them!! Now, fast forward a few months, I had some time to myself this morning and wanted to enjoy coffee and a bagel. (Best sourdough bagels ever) it comes out and the jalapeños are completely blackened on the top like it was burnt to crisp, oh well I moved on and ate half. It just made me feel like this sort of thing happens a lot. I really love this place but I'm really not sure how this keeps happening to me. I just can't do it anymore. Really bummed.
