This location on Anton at Sakioka re-opened on 28-Dec-2020. Their temporary closure was due to slow business when many offices in the buildings along Anton sent their employees home to work virtual. Customer service ensures a return visit or a bad review. In this case, Starbucks has won me over. Yesterday, I purchased a protein box and to my disappointment the fruit and the hard-boiled eggs seemed less than fresh and perhaps even spoiled. Today when I returned to the same location, I decided to get another protein box and let the cashier know that I had purchased one that wasn't satisfactory the day before. This is the closest Starbucks to my apartment and it amazes me every time I visit how professional and efficient the employees are. First off, this location is somewhat hidden due to the fact that it isn't located on a major street yet it still does well due to the close proximity to several office buildings. It's on Anton Blvd and Sakioka Dr., about three blocks east of South Coast Plaza. The parking situation doesn't bother me since I usually walk from home. The lot isn't very big and is shared with two other businesses so during weekday morning rush and lunchtime it will be difficult finding a spot. The store itself isn't too large but does have several tables inside along with some comfy chairs near the front. There is also a nice size outdoor patio with tables, perfect for soaking up the wonderful Socal sunshine. Most of the time I actually prefer to sit outside, weekends especially since there isn't much traffic zooming by on the street. While the store does have a long line during certain times of the day, I have always found that it moves quickly and my drinks are always made correctly. I was staying at the Marriott last week and came to this Starbucks for coffee. I had the best experience and I was immediately greeted at the door. I don't normally visit Starbucks but Daniella (the girl with the ghost tattoo and glasses) at the register was very helpful. The staff was super friendly and asked about my stay in OC and my drink was delicious. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll make sure to stop by. Why is this Starbucks even open at all?! They close at 7pm! I've never seen a Starbucks close so early. Shut down this locating or at least be open during normal retail hours. If you're a business that is reliant on foot traffic then maybe you should stay open a little later. If that can't be done due to lack of profits then this location really needs to evaluate its existence. read more

I have been working here for the last week and must say this Starbucks is super convenient. Parking can be a chore but this place is tucked in the Metro Center business area. Cashier Pluis was super helpful and recommended a pumpkin spice latter which hit the spot. Ample seating and even saw some available power sockets for those with electronics. This is in a great area but beware that if you turn right too early that you'll end up in a paid parking area where you have to get a ticket to make a U-turn. So make sure you pass that then make a right and there's some parking behind the building. This is a nice spot since there is a great terrace area if you don't want to stay inside. read more

I would definitely recommend ordering your order online since there is usually a fairly long line here during the work day. Pushing them down a star due to the fact they are a little slower on the mobile orders too. Been cases where I have ordered food and they seemed to have forgotten to heat it up. The selection here doesn't have everything (nitro cold brew, etc) but they have plenty of other options and plenty of patio seating. read more

The baristas here are always really friendly and accommodating to the customers' needs. This location is also nicely tucked away from the main roads so it has a quiet peaceful atmosphere. There isn't a ton of seating inside but the outside patio is expensive compared to other locations. read more

Amazing Starbucks, definitely the best I've ever been to in terms of service. The baristas, especially those on the weekday morning rotation, are always friendly, helpful, and most of all incredibly efficient. No matter how long the line, I always have my drink in hand within 3-4 minutes of ordering and paying -- and literally within seconds if there is no line (How do they do this?? It's like magic.). They always get my order correct, and have an excellent memory for your name after you've come in a few mornings in a row. By far the best customer service from any Starbucks out there, great location too. Plenty of seating outside and it is right next to South Coast plaza. The only downside it is not open very late but that doesn't impact me as I typically get my coffee in the early afternoon. My lattes always taste good, there are plenty of other locations where the coffee is inconsistent and sometimes it tastes burned and other times it tastes like sugared milk. I am a big Starbucks, but this past experience was less than average. The employees seemed irritated and were taking way too long to get the drinks out to customers. Of course things happen, but this was ridiculous as they didn't seem to recognize the build up and we're taking their time. All I ordered was an ice water and didn't get it after 15-20 min so I left. A great place to sit outside or in. They have tons of outdoor seating. This seems to be a new Starbucks. Parking is pretty abundant. The street is fairly quiet and it's quite sleepy on a Saturday afternoon. Single sex men's and women's bathrooms and that's always a plus. Great place to sit and drink and get some good writing or reading done. (Most of) The Staff is super friendly and service is efficient. Best baristas here- hands down. This is still a Starbucks, so you can pretty much get your "norm" here like any other Starbucks in the world. Plus, they remember your names like no other. Isn't that right, Kat? Location: B+ This is a perfect location if you live across the street or work at any of these large offices. Apart from that, if you're just passing by it may be easy to miss. Food/Coffee: A Starbucks formulaic, but hey - consistency is not always a bad thing. Plus, their muffins are pretty fresh and tempting. Price: A Having been to Italy, I can definitely vouch for the fact that the price of coffee here is much cheaper than a little neighborhood cafe that prides itself on independence or mama papa exclusivity. I'm all for variety, but sometimes it's just easier on the wallet. Toilets: A Thought I'd add. Because it's so much better to know before you go. Here, they're super clean. Rest assured. Love this location since it's a hop, skip and jump away from my office. It's usually packed in the morning hours (8-10) but that's because everyone is usually getting to work at those times. All the employees are really friendly and work efficiently to get your drinks out in a timely manner. One of my favorite locations :) read more
