Came here this evening to pick up a mobile order. When I arrived I found out it hadn't been started yet, no worries, I can wait. There was 1 worker behind the counter busy stocking the cabinets. As I was waiting, a customer walked in the door to place an order at the counter and the worker completely failed to acknowledge him for a good 5 minutes. It wasn't even busy. He was standing right in front of her and she was ignoring him while continuing her project. Eventually she noticed him and said "oh hey" and took his order, then noticed mine and another customers mobile order ticket and began making the drinks. Most Starbucks I visited are welcoming with gig workers. NOT here. I literally watched 2 employees working the take out area ingore me the entire time. No it was not in my mind either ( for the gaslighted out there). This guy walked in after and he was greeted warmly,which he ignored ( i found that ironic). Ultimately, warm and kind service should be extended to all! When the order was finally ready the employees passively just turned it around and walked away. I value professionalism on my end. I use this location often, but today I noticed I had a wrong item in my order, I was running late so I didn't have time to immediately wait for the correct order- so I informed them I'd be back in about a half hour for the other as soon as I opened up at work. Came here for a quick morning snack. The place is very modern with gray walls and wood decoration. The staff here were very nice and asked questions to help get the customers talking while waiting for their order. Plus it's right across the street from my place, which is nice. This Starbucks is the wackiest of them all. Uptight immature be the word. But before i say anything - there's two in there that are always friendly, remember names, and truly represent the Starbucks I am used to. I don't know what's happening with this location but it's wild. Kat ("Katdawg" on her name badge) and Eli. They are lovely. However - you have every Starbucks in the area who not only allows small dogs coming in (especially when the owner is carrying them in a bag), but the other locations all WELCOME the dogs. They even want to take photos of the dog and hang them up in their location. Immediately when you walk into THIS location, you're bombarded with "you can't have your dog in here" even though there's no inside seating going on so basically this place is just a grab-n-go. I feel bad for the staff because this is a very, very busy location and it seems to be always understaffed. On top of making the drinks, they have to be baby sitters also... for instance, when you have to wait five minutes for your muffin to be warmed up, and you take a sip of your coffee, oh it's the end of the world in there - because you hear three people yelling at you that you cannot take a sip... I mean, it's crazy. It almost seems like a joke... I mean the vaccine is readily available people, it's up to you at this point, and if I have to wait for my muffin for five minutes because they're so understaffed, I'm going to take a damn sip of the latte I just paid $7 for There are a few people that have their pronouns either on their name badges or business card. It's very interesting when you're ordering from somebody with pronouns on their name badge and then when you ask them for more ice, they turn around and say "he would like more ice!" Wait a minute, but you didn't ask my pronoun ;) how are you advocating for this and pushing this into society through your job but then you're not practicing this yourself? I find it bizarre. I find it uncomfortable as well. And there's a girl who works there that freaks out every time somebody might get too close to the glass which separates the customer and the employee. She legit freaks out, and I feel bad for her because maybe she shouldn't be working or somebody needs to not have her at the register if she's that paranoid. Checked out this Starbucks in Lakeview. Located by the Marianos and entrance parking ramp to the garage along Broadway. Its definitely one of the nicer Starbucks I have seen in awhile. I ordered using the app, and it was ready within 5 minutes. All the baristas were super nice and got my order correctly. Unfortunately, no indoor seating yet as of last Saturday. They follow all Covid precautions here. Seems to be one of the more reliable Starbucks for your fix. read more

Everytime I come in something goes wrong... Wait 10 minutes longer for my sandwich than my drink, my drink is incorrect, etc. etc. This seems ridiculous being that it is a mobile order... This Starbucks is currently my second favorite in my neighborhood because the staff is friendly, there is a wider selection of goodies constantly in stock, and the majority of tables are high-tops. There are long lines, but because the service is fast, I don't mind waiting to get my tea. read more

Wow! What a hostile and belligerent morning manager. He worked this morning, has a beard and maybe around 6" tall. He seems to get into arguments with a lot of the black and hispanic paying customers. He tends to make racist comments about the customers and one of the baristas, a white 20 something female laughs and goes along with the racist behavior. Heard the manage say that a black customer thinks he's back in Africa and needs to stop acting like a monkey. Then a female hispanic customer came in and didn't speak perfect english and the manager flippantly said to the hispanic female that "we don't put taco sauce in our coffee, you gotta to to Mexico for that.." At this point the 2 employees just laughed the joke and the poor woman looked very humiliated and embarrassed. Is there anything that you can do about this racist behavior. I'm a 26 year old white male from New York and studying to be a doctor at Northwestern. I've been going to starbucks since I was a kid and I've never seen this type of blatant and open racism even in NYC. I have friends who have gone to this store before and this same manager has made very racist comments torwards customers. Thank you for your time! Every time I walk in with my service dog (whom I pickup off the ground) to pickup my mobile order, I get 15 questions from the barista with yellow hair at the end of the counter- is he a service dog? What is he a service dog for? (All questions asked in a snotty and annoyed tone) I didn't realize that service dog owners had to answer 15 questions and give details about what medical condition they help with. read more

Inside of this Starbucks is decent but it can get crowded - people go in before or after a Mariano's run which makes it hectic. I also think that when it's crowded the waiting area for drinks is a clusterF. It's just a giant mob of people hovering with not much room to stand and wait. I give it 3 stars since the noise is as average, always packed from 7a until closing time, and not everyone is friendly. I will say the rudest employee is katina she is a supervisor in the morning with green, purple and grey hair. She is not really motivated and never greets people or knows what is going on. Docking a star or so, this is the only Starbucks where you will get uneven service by the baristas. During the week they are just fine but on weekends, especially towards later in the day, they seem very indifferent to the customer. It's just this location. I go to this Starbucks every day as opposed to all the other Starbucks I pass by on my way to and from work. Why? The service is top notch and extremely efficient. Each staff member is amazing. They remember everything and provide great customer service. The manager is especially great. Very dissappointed! I never felt this way in any other starbucks store. But, today I felt really offended by the attitude and service of the male barista who has glasses on appeared to be asian. Because my beverage was bit too sugary I asked him to add a bit more milk and warm it up, and right after I said, his attitude was extremely hesitent and rude, and through his utensils here and there, and spilled the milk in front of me when he refill the beverage, and basically threw me back my cup without even warm it up. He threw at me bad shade, it seems like i begged a coffee from him. After I asked him again, if he can warm it up, he just madly grabbed it and threw it to the trash. So right there, I stopped him, because I couldn't put up with his dirty attitude anymore, and waste my time with person who has no customer service.
