My friend and I came to this Starbucks since she wanted to get her star rewards, and I could use a mid day pick me up. I ordered a grande iced caramel macchiato with light ice and oat milk. The barista was really friendly and efficient. My drink was ready shortly, and it was exactly how I wanted and more. I'm really happy that they actually accommodate the customizations -- I know it can be a pain, but I'm truly thankful because I can no longer have dairy products like that. The things like oat milk has been a great alternative for me, and I love that oat milk goes perfectly with coffee, it almost acts a sweetener as well as being the milk itself. We ended up hanging out at this location briefly to kill some time before we walked back to the Regal Cinemas. I do recommend this location to anyone in the area looking for the Starbucks brand or just coffee in general. We were also lucky to walk in around 5pm on a Monday, so it wasn't terribly busy. There's metered street parking right outside. It's also almost hidden, but it does sit on the corner of Halsted & Webster. read more

Good god. The people who work here are bitter. They clearly hate their jobs. They hate the people they're helping. Now I've had some jobs that I don't like. Jobs I HATED. I've complained about them plenty - but I keep my mouth shut when clients are around. Or even just QUIETLY. Even if it's clear I'm not super pleased to be working, it's just not great to be complaining within earshot of anyone buying anything in your store. That gets you written up or fired. But goddamn, the people working do NOT try to hide that they're miserable and hate it here. This location is in Lincoln Park. The clientele is snooty. They expect a lot. They are rude. They think the service is slow. They're snappy. I heard an employee telling a regular that she was so happy to be leaving for a competitor, because the place she was headed had sooo much better of a clientele, and everyone who comes into this store are rude and in a rush. The guy you're talking to IS A REGULAR. So you're talking crap about his neighbors to his face... Yes, everyone's in a rush. Nobody wants to hang around. That's what happens when you're a block away from the train, your service takes forever, and your store is tiny. Then there's the fact that they don't have a bathroom. Okay, yeah, it's weird. But someone came up, asked to use the bathroom, and was told they could use it across the street. Weird but reasonable. Once that person left, the employees then started making fun of her. "How do you use the bathroom?" "Well yes, we have our own bathroom, in the back, where we have our stuff, and you're NOT going in there!" To be making fun of people who ask to use a bathroom, that's just straight up being a jerk. I mean... cmon. Just tone it down a little. Speak a little quieter. I don't need to hear you complaining about me. I know you hate me. Just make it seem like MAYBE you don't. The Starbucks around the corner on Belden and Lincoln just closed. The place was smaller and almost always quieter. Except at 3PM every day when they got absolutely BODYSLAMMED by teenagers leaving school. Total chaos. Yet I never ever heard those folks complaining. I don't even mean they were super cheery, I don't need that. I just mean they weren't angry that they were there. They engaged with at least a neutral approach. So now instead, we've got this location, without a bathroom, with terrible service, and people who hate their jobs. Great. read more

Tried the Oprah chai here and if this review were based solely off that drink, I'd give it a one. I didn't like it very much. It was very earthy and spicy (not like hot spicy, but like...spices spicy if that makes any sense...?). I like that they're donating money to help education, but I wouldn't get that again. I'm not a big fan of Teavana teas in general, so I wasn't surprised that I didn't like this tea. Other than the drink, I liked this location. It's nice and close to DePaul's College of Education, which is where a majority of my classes are, so it's very convenient. The baristas were very nice and helpful. We always order a coffee and something from the bakery that doesn't need to be reheated. A lot of unfriendly and unwelcoming employees and always a lot of waiting; 10 to 15 mins even if there is nobody inside ordering. What the heck Gregory M. Spacious layout? Who are you kidding? It's cramped as heck in here, no bathrooms and no wifi. But I would still come here. Not for the pumpkin spice latte ( so basic, and taste gross) but because it's Starbucks and their goodness has a cult like hold on me. Plus Brenda the manager is great, and originally one of her employees messed up an order of mine, but she handled it like a pro, and remained calm and nice the entire time. It is very dangerous to even walk past this store, so to optimize your safety stay away, do not even walk past this store because your chances of covid increase significantly. Furthermore, they let people who do not purchase anything from the store to stay in their property and curse, play loud music, litter, and block walkways. My ass loves caffeine but I am so oblivious to the countless coffee variations available to me, so I generally reach for the Starbucks Double Shot Coffee + Energy when I can't possibly make a decision (over 90% of the time). Now while the Wifi situation doesn't rub me the right way, I don't care 'cause I will usually do some writing while I'm here. BESIIIIDES that internet just leads to procrastination. The reason I review this particular Starbucks locale is because they are the friendliest folks I've met. I am usually en-route to morning work, and they know just the trick to make my breakfast special. One time I asked to buy milk (they lack prepackaged moo juice). After I was rung out, I told her I just need it for my tupperware container of cereal. The gal behind the counter was so helpful, she suggested just use the one at the sugar station next time. Needless to say I felt all warm and fuzzy inside like I had just made a new friend who said I get fridge privileges every time I come visit- SCORE!! After that, I felt totally welcome and definitely more apt to stop in. I haven't been in since to bathe my cereal, but I pop in on occasion and there they are, heatin' up my oatmeal, ringing up my cans of coffee, and getting me out of there in time to make it to work with a big goofy smile plastered on my face! We always do a mobile order for a couple drinks and maybe a food item. It should take 4-7 minutes max according to the app (and how long every other Starbucks locations take). This location consistently takes over 10-15 minutes for simple orders. When I went in today, there was 1 person making drinks, 1 person training, and 4 standing around not doing anything. It took over 10 minutes since we ordered and over 5 minutes since I walked in, as my wife was double parked. There was only 1 other customer waiting for the majority of the time. I can't think of any other Starbucks we frequent that has slower service. read more

So I just had an experience at this location I'd like to talk about. Now I know the area as I work very close in a retail store and I know how busy it gets. I've been there a million times and have never had a problem but I just happened to go in at a rush today and things with my app weren't working so I had to go back (not their fault, I was just in a rush to get back to work) and get my card and then I came back after everything had been voided and I started to start my order again and there was no communication and basically I almost was charged twice. Honestly I got really annoyed and snapped. Again I work in retail and I am constantly conscious of how I treat people in retail/ service industries so I immediately felt terribly and they went above and beyond and gave me my drink on the house and triple checked to make sure I wasn't over charged. I'm going to make sure I pay it forward today because they really didn't have to give me that drink. I had a bad moment and acted like someone I deal with daily and I know just how frustrating that is. I have had nothing but wonderful service at this Starbucks! The clientele however is another story. First of all, I have zero disrespect for homeless who need a place to go. I have never been to a Starbucks with so many homeless people/less fortunate who do not purchase anything and will camp out at a table for 8+ hours. If there were one or two, I sympathize for them, but there are always so many at his specific location. I am a huge fan of this Starbucks! It's my go-to before work, after work, whenever! I've never had a bad experience. Drinks are made quickly, the baristas are always friendly. After reading some of the reviews, I'd have to agree with the stroller comment. There are a lot of people with baby strollers coming and going from this location. Although I didn't have my measuring tape with me, I think this SBUX has more room (square footage and tables) than the SBUX just up the street on Lincoln. Service was speedy and accurate, but where this location really shines is the sidewalk cafe. They crammed as many tables and chairs as they could into the little oblong plot they have to work with, but it's still entirely functional as a space to sit, sip, and read/work/chill/etc. read more

I work right down the street on Halsted, so this Starbucks is really convenient. However, I have noticed that my cups are never filled to capacity and I have had to ask the baristas to fill my drink to the rim (even with Americanos). Starbucks is not cheap and their prices continue to rise, so IF I decide to buy coffee there, I expect a full drink. If I wanted a tall, I would have ordered a tall. But my grande drinks are always filled to about (maybe a tad bit over) tall capacity. It may seem like a minor issue, but I am looking to get what I pay for and with Starbucks, especially this location, that has proven to be difficult. I have started drinking coffee more locally in recent years with an occasional trip to Starbucks out of sheer convenience, but these experiences with half-filled coffee cups for full coffee cup prices are just enough for me to officially end my relationship with Starbucks. read more

This Starbucks is wonderful! The Baristas are all very professional, kind and hard-working. It is on the corner of Halsted and the atmosphere is very cozy. It is a long and thin room, so the seating isn't always ideal. There are about two large tables, a window 'bar' and then a few single seats. Many college students do homework here and it can be difficult to find a seat. If you are just popping in to get a drink, it is perfect. read more
