My boyfriend and I decided to come here for coffee this morning. When we got here it was a line but the line was moving fast. They have a menu ready for you before you go to the register. I ordered the cortado and my boyfriend ordered the cold brew and pastry. The place was packed with people working or hanging out with friends. Finally got the chance to come back and knock out a few hours of work at La Colombe. I LOVE it here! The current draft drink is a s'mores latte, so I decided to give it a go. It tasted a lot like a mocha, but so smooth and very frothy! I also like that it's not sickly sweet. I grabbed a table and worked from there for a few hours. The wifi works great, and I love the floor to ceiling windows that add so much natural light. The team working was really friendly which is always appreciated. Can't wait to come back! read more

I've had Colombe coffee before but I've never been to the coffee shop. It was worth it. The coffee is even better in person. We had lattes. One iced and one hot. Both were rich and smooth. The shop is popular so it was tough to find a seat. The staff was friendly and told us about a promotion that we took advantage of. read more

You probably already know what La Colombe is, but if not they are a great coffee chain. They have great coffee and are usually rotating between a specialty coffee. This location has plenty of seating but they definitely designed it so people wouldn't stay for a while. The tables are too low, they are not comfy, and have only a few outlets. When I came in I tried their current specialty coffee, the White Mocha Latte which I got iced. It was creamy and not too 'chocolatey.' I also tried the Spicy Giardiniera bakery item, which was tasty but wouldn't recommend it for breakfast. It was also served cold and would definitely recommend warming it up. read more

Been to different La Colombe locations before and I finally visited the closest one to me. Always a great vibe. Note that the line is usually long because of the popularity but there are multiple baristas and they're very nice people but keep that in mind! My partner and I love the fact that they have different flavors of coffee on tap. So she got the limited edition strawberry Oatmilk latte and I had the Oatmilk latte. Great and airy taste and smooth as well. Typical colombe decor, a lot of seating areas, including standing only spots for waiting. And the outside views of the big windows into Andersonville is great for people that people watch. As per usual, we'll be back! read more

The coffee is great.. Comfortable space when there's seats available.. Just like every coffee shop. There's the "sleepers" there that spend their day on their laptops. Which is ok.. An alright coffee shop. Given that this is more on the upscale side, I was expecting a bit more in terms of decor, presentation, service, and seating. However, this spot felt like it lacked the usual cafe vibe as the seating wasn't particularly comfortable, the service wasn't particularly friendly, and there wasn't much in terms of decor to make this feel like a good place to hangout. However, the coffee was fairly good and the publican bread they carry is pretty delicious, But there are plenty spots nearby to enjoy coffee and baked goods that feel more like a cafe. read more

Yum! Tried their limited time Cereal Milk Draft Latte and I absolutely loved it. Had a wonderful flavor, not super cereal-y, but I would order it again. This shop is half a mile away from my home, but since I don't drink coffee I've never really had a reason to come here. Last week I met someone here to chat, and it seems like a nice place. There's lots of space, and they're socially distancing, still. I was really happy that when I went in--over a week after the mask mandate had ended in Chicago and in Illinois--they still have signs up requesting that people keep their mask in place when they are not actively eating or drinking. The staff here were still wearing masks as of March 9, 2022, as well. That put me very much at ease since I'm still choosing to wear a mask. Undoubtedly some folks will be bent out of shape that La Colombe has taken this stance--for now--but it's their business, they get to choose what's right for them. I ordered a chai latte when it was time for me to head out, and it was great. They also have pastries, but I was here at around 4:30 pm so there were very few left, even if I'd been in the mood. They have lots of seating as well as standing tables. And even though there weren't a lot of people there--maybe 10, tops--they were really quick with the two drinks that I ordered to take out. My husband and I visited La Columbe on a Saturday afternoon, and it was pretty busy. This is usually a good indication of good food, when it's busy and the locals like it. We ordered a hazelnut cold brew and a ham and cheese croissant to split. I was disappointed at what we got. The coffee lacked flavor, and the croissant was not memorable. The price that was charged does not match what we received. I regularly meet up with friends at La Colombe on Clark. Usually have latte and a croissant or a breakfast sandwich. Their almond croissants are very good. Ambience is nice whenever it's not too crowded. I try to avoid weekends, because it may be quite busy. But overall, a great place to have coffee. read more

Saw two gals walking on the street with coffee in their hands and man was a tired so I went ahead and asked them what coffee shop it was from and if it was nearby and it led me here!! I was gonna go in and get a regular latte but instead got one of their oat milk nitro lattes I think is what it was called. IT WAS AMAZING. I was pretty skeptical at first I'll admit but they let me sample it which was nice. It was around $5.00 but worth every penny. I loved it and I definitely recommend. I also would recommend their raspberry croissant. I bought that one and their spinach and feta one and the savory one was alright but not my favorite. read more

After moving to Chicago, I've been looking for great coffee places. So far, La Colombe is my favorite! Great atmosphere for reading and relaxing. For drinks, I have tried the oat latte, americano and espresso. For pastry, I have tried the canele (LOVE it!! Must try). Espresso: really balanced taste. Love it! Dark chocolate and nutty flavor. Iced Americano: refreshing and balanced. La Colombe puts 4 shots of espresso into its Americano. The espresso is great and there is no woody or burnt taste. Oat latte: It's okay. I don't really like the oat milk. It would be much better if using Oatly (personal opinion). Canele: it is FREAKING GOOD. The best canele I have ever had! I wanted to sit down at this "La Colombo" location and enjoy a cup of coffee, but they were always busy and I usually held on a bag of cat food from the nearby local pet shop, which forced me to get home immediately since my stinkers would be waiting. However, "La Colombo" kept on impressing with their drink selections. Now they offer the draft coffee! There's draft black coffee for those who want cold and bold, but hubby and I had an instant smile when we saw draft latte on the special menu. How good was it? Haha, we saw the bottom of the to-go cup within five (5) minutes after we left the coffee shop. Yes, it was SO great that I wanted to order another! I don't know if this is a policy at the Andersonville location only. They do shut off the wifi on the weekends so that people can truly converse and socialize. Therefore, bring your own mobile hot spot on the weekends if you plan on heading over here. I believe their draft latte is going to be my new addiction. This is a solid coffee shop. The aesthetic is 100% and the space is large, so seating is plentiful even in our COVID world. Given that it's a higher scale cafe and a chain, the coffee prices are steeper (pun intended) than your standard mom and pop corner coffee shop and the coffee is always consistent. My issue with this cafe though is that it lacks warmth and friendliness. The person who I presumed to be the manager gave my partner and I 0.05 seconds to read the tiny print on the tiny paper menu posted at the register before asking in an impatient tone if we were ready and looking back at the person and implying that we were holding everybody up. We ended up getting draft lattes from their taps and before we were done paying the person at the register, the manager had already called out that our drinks were ready twice looking around waiting for us to come pick them up. The coffee bar is in the center of the mix which is cool, but they have all the self-serve extras also where people pick up drinks so on top of being rushed to order and collect our drinks, my anxiety was through the roof as I tried to hastily locate a lid for my drink--skipping over any chance to try my coffee and add any sweetener. They also have a hidden sparkling and still water tap in the back corner of the coffee bar, so if you decide to post up for a bit, don't forget to stay hydrated! Hello, first, a disclaimer: I don't love Yelp culture or the power that reviews have over service industry workers to affect the stability of their jobs (particularly during these times). That being said, please visit La Colombe on Clark. Tip your barista as generously as you can--they are risking their health daily to make your day a little better with a nice cup of coffee. Their COVID safety protocols are wonderful for protecting their workers (and you, the customer). The baristas are kind and communicate clearly--and the coffee is top notch. Please consider the effects of leaving a negative review during these challenging times--if your experience is different than mine (someone is surly with you, or your wait is a little bit longer than you'd like)...cut them a break. These folks are working long days, interfacing with lots of people, and wearing masks the entire time. Think about how the pandemic has challenged you and affected your mood since March. Coffee is the main menu item here. They offer still and sparkling water on tap. There's a lot of space to work away from home here and they have high tops and low tops. This cafe is located on Clark St in the center of all the Andersonville action. Love love love. You are merely steps away from Hopleaf and a short walking distance from the Swedish Bakery, the Bongo Room, Big Jones and cute boutiques for humans and for pets (i.e. Jameson Loves Danger). If you haven't been to the aforementioned places, do bookmark them! La Colombe (at this particular location and the one on Damen) is listed on the Indie Coffee Passport (#ICPChicago). This was my first time here and it's the perfect place to get a HIGH QUALITY cup of coffee. They pride themselves on their coffee's simplicity and that's how it shines. I recommend "dining in" for your coffee. Order "for here," sit and enjoy the space. They have large, open windows all along Clark and Foster which lets in life-saving amounts of sunlight during the winter. Just for funsies (and I've never actually used that word out loud), this is how La Colombe is described on Google: 1) "sleek cafe serving artisanal coffee" 2) "trendy minimalist coffeehouse" Google Maps said so and I agree 100%. Some things to consider: They do not have wi-fi here. It's so that people don't loiter but the lack of wi-fi here didn't seem the detract from the ambiance at all. It seems to remove all distractions from a focused agenda: to enjoy the coffee and/or the people you came with. I ordered the "Gibraltar" which is equal parts espresso and milk. It had beautiful latte art and their cups/plates here are also gorgeous: navy floral and Victorian-esque. Delicious, especially if you like strong coffee. The cafe was full but not crowded on a Sunday afternoon. I won't come here if I need to use the internet, but it was kind of nice to be in a place where wifi "didn't exist." The lack of wifi is made up by the seriousness La Colombe takes in the purity of their coffee. They let their coffee take center stage. read more
