I like the fact that you can sit inside or outside. The only issue I have - and this is not Starbucks fault. But, the amount of people working out of here during the day - makes it difficult to sit and relax in here during the week. The majority of every seat is a person with thier lap top. This I probably the worst Starbucks. Their drinks are inconsistent, I have had to leave work to take them back to get them fixed (when I have had someone pick it up for me) so not only do I wasn't my coworkers time, but I have to go back and take time out of my schedule. Some of the employees are rude when they are asked questions. Not sure if it is just me, but all Starbucks staff is usually extremely friendly and welcoming. My experiences here the past few weeks have been horrible.. I come most mornings, and there is only one person that speaks to me, I believe she is the mgr, and she always speaks to me by name, and is always joyful. but these last couple weeks, she has not been there the experience has been completely opposite. the girl with the curley hair and glasses is very rude and doesn't even acknowledge me half the time. the other ladies just move around without speaking. Today they took almost 30 minutes, and didn't even acknowledge the inconvenience. I ordered on the mobile app. im very disappointed and don't think I will be visiting this location anymore. Whenever anyone reviews a chain on Yelp, it is as though that committed some kind of warped Cardinal Sin. Chains are, like it or not, part of the landscape. Not everything can be the Mom-und-Pop shops of yesteryear. I worked for Starbucks, many moons ago, when Starbucks was still riding the cool ranch dorito wave of "indie" cred. Rather than the automated machines, we had a giant $30,000 imported espresso machine with a boiler inside that, if it were to detonate, would probably level the building. You had a sense, working there, that you were tied into your local area community. You knew names, you knew faces and you knew drinks. You had people coming in according to their daily schedules and it didn't feel like you were a coffee drone, pumping out terrible drinks to an apathetic clientele. I'll be frank - most Starbucks these days feel like that. There doesn't seem to be any real "care" about whether or not your coffee tastes like burnt dishwater. Pay your money, buy your cardboard treats, and get the hell out. That's where James and crew come in. This particular Starbucks is right next to work - within easy walking distance. That alone might have compelled the occasional trot over. But what I noticed after coming for a while is that the crew actually seems like they're enjoying themselves. They banter with customers, just like my old crew did. But unlike my old crew, there isn't at least one burnout hiding in the walk-in freezer doing whipits during his shift. It feels very much the way Starbucks felt when it had it's Indie cred. Part of a neighborhood, tucked a few steps away from a mall or anything else that might trigger the assembly line mentality. If anything I've had here were to ever suck, I know they'd make it right. And have a nice morning chat while they did. read more

Solid Starbucks store. Service is quick even when the lines get long (lines are longer in the morning as expected). The convenience of it being close to home as well as work is a plus. The music also isn't too loud so it's possible to get some studying done here. When the weather is nice, I always opt for sitting outside at their patio. There are plenty of tables with shade and there are also some seats underneath the large oak(?) tree, perfect for reading. The restrooms are a hit or miss in cleanliness (both literally and figuratively. I guess some people have trouble aiming.) Other than that, this is a place I will be frequenting often. read more

This is my Starbucks. It's not just any Starbucks, it's my Starbucks. The folks that work here are awesome, simply awesome. 1/2 the reason I go is because of the Barrista's. I walk in the door and they're more than happy to pour on the love/abuse. They are soo much fun. A morning walk from work to Starbucks is practically a ritual. I keep my drinks simple, I'm a simple man, it's all espresso. 3 shots over ice when it's hot out, 4 shots in an americano when it's cold. Once in a while I'll hit the orange/mango Vivanno, but only when I have a "free drink, do not pass go" postcard. They're all good. Like I said, it's not just any Starbucks, not just some Starbucks somewhere, it's my Starbucks, and that's why I love it. Other Starbucks? They're just a poor imitation of my Starbucks and that's why I always keep coming back. My Starbucks isn't perfect, perfection isn't what I seek, perfection isn't attractive. I think my Starbuck's flaws aren't really flaws but just cute quirkiness. Now I'm human, I may wander occasionally, but I always come back to my Starbucks. I'm faithful like that. read more

I come to this Starbucks VERY often. Usually the service is great. I can always tell when management is not in. Today, I ordered a mobile order. I arrived earlier than the stated time, I checked for my drink and food, neither were ready so I sat down. The girl never called out any names. I went and checked a few minutes later and there was my order so I grabbed it and left. I got to where I was going to consume my food and discovered my egg bites had no fork. Location is located basically in the Arboretum. The location is pretty easy to spot from the street. It shares a plaza with a Trader Joe's and a couple other establishments. Most of the parking close to the actual Starbucks may be taken since this is a rather popular place for people to meet. If you're lucky you could even get some shaded parking under the trees (although you may have to watch for bird poop!). If you can't find one near, you can probably just park a bit a ways. The plaza is pretty big. This Starbucks serves wine in addition to coffee. They also openly advertise their non-blended coffees which is a nice addition. I don't think all the Starbucks locations have the option of getting some or at least in the variety that they have here. The interior has plenty of seating. Not all have access to a plug though, so you need to look around for one before you claim a seat. They have a big seating area in the center of the room. There are plenty of plugs there, so if you need to find one quick, that's the place to look first. Plenty of out-door seating(not sure if there are plugs). The service is generally pretty good. They sometimes come around and offer samples of the wine and sweets. Never had that before at another location. Pretty cool. The bathrooms are okay. Not the cleanest, but not the worst. It could definitely be better though. All in all, a good place to spend a couple of hours. read more

My first time being here and I really enjoyed it! It was pretty crowded but that's to be expected at 3pm on a Sunday. The employees were very friendly and provided quick service. I was lucky enough to get a seat at one of their convenient couches equipped with an outlet and chair in front of it. Terrible starbucks.. Hate the unfriendly attitude of the staff -whether it is morning -week days or weekends.. Relocated from San Francisco to Austin and was residing in the great hills area for 2 months. I am a habitual starbucks visitors for the last 10 years in California and Canada and went to this location for 2 months every morning. .Same people at the counter every morning. never greeted me once or exchanged any pleasantries .. Their tone with Caucasian customers is so much pleasant. On the other hand I found their tone towards me very sharp and high handed times .. for example when I would request for a medium roast.. or to heat up a 'butter croissant' I would purchase! or request for a cup holder This evening I had to be in the area and entered the shop to get a coffee and a few things to eat for my kids.. Later my kids needed water and the person at the counter made such a snotty remark when I requested for 2 glasses of tap water and lectured me that they don't process such requests and I should go to the cash counter etc etc.. For 2 glasses water!!! unbelievable after purchasing close to $15 of items I have been a regular at starbucks at so many locations in San Francisco and Toronto and the staff out there unbelievable.! Gosh, I love this location. Yummy coffee, lots of seating (though it's normally pretty packed), and I have had some of my favorite experiences at a coffee shop at this store. The baristas have always been fun and outgoing, and when I wasn't as knowledgeable about coffee, they were helpful and bantered with me. You all knew I would find a Starbucks in Austin. I couldn't go two weeks with no Bucks in my life. This is a big Starbucks with a solid morning crew of Barista's. We did run into a snafu with my latte when the Barista decided to put whip cream on it, ewe - on my vanilla latte? To her credit she quickly realized the error of her ways and remade me my drink very fast. Even with a line you're in and out in under 7 minutes. These five stars are specifically for Nate, for yesterday. WOW! I have always really enjoyed this Starbucks. Many a night I spent here when I worked part time at my favorite, Sephora, near there. Nate was so wonderful because I was trying to find out what times they would be giving out those tall Refresher drinks yesterday, and he was just a champion. I had called him. I could hear the busy in the air. I could not imagine what all was going on in there, yet, he acted as if he enjoyed my call and actually wanted to have a conversation with me, which that he did. Thank you, Nate!! We went there later that night, and it was great! Crowded, but great.... This Starbucks has a nice indoor area with plenty of tables to set up your laptop, drink your coffee and surf. It also has an outdoor seating are for when the weather is nice, but, let's face it, if the weather is nice you can't see your screen outside. Every time I have been here this location has been crowded. Seems to be a community favorite. But with free wifi and lots of tables, I don't blame them. read more

I came in today for a cup of coffee and a usual peruse of the books and other whimsical trinkets that the accompanying Barnes and Noble stocks. I get up to the counter to ask for my venti Pike's Place cup with a little room for cream, the lady looks over her shoulder and notices that the thermos they have of my particular brew was out. She offered to brew up another batch so that I might enjoy a cup still (props to you for that!) however her associate standing next her comments loudly that they shouldn't brew the batch for one customer.... If your going to say something like that, pull your associate off the side away from customer's ears. They still made the coffee, but I felt unappreciated as a customer. read more

I stopped in here to meet up with a friend of mine. This review is less for the coffee and more for the location. For starters: SPACE! That's what this one offers. The inside is spacious and comfortable. And, there's a healthy outside patio. Server was attentive but not overly so and beverages were served promptly. Plenty of parking handy right next to it as well. Will definitely stop in here next time I'm in the neighborhood. read more

This Starbucks location is pretty amazing, the only con is there isn't a drive thru. So let's talk about the pros... The inside is super chic and awesome, the lighting is beautiful and really big location. The employees are super nice and so fast. There were several people ahead of us and we got our drinks in just a few minutes. Everyone had smiles and seemed to really love their jobs! Also this location you can order wine and beer after 2 pm, they also do food pairings with the drinks. Plus the beer and wine selection looked pretty good. Quick service but wouldn't call it friendly. Our barista/cashier could be less interests in being friendly. There was one person ahead of us so it wasn't packed... Update: bumped down to 1-star for the sheer rude service of the barista. When "helping" the customer in front of me, he continued with his personal conversation with another employee while the customer needed help with the scan machine. She then said, "excuse me sir, could you pay attention, I need help with this." The barista then replied very risky, "well I told you when I rang it up that it was ready..." OK. Here we go... The Good- This location has a great patio. Very big. The inside is roomy as well and there is plenty of parking nearby. The wi-fi connection is actually pretty decent most of the time. The coffee drinks I've ordered have been consistently solid. They taste good and were made reasonably quick. The staff has been friendly to me. I've met some nice folks here. I can usually get a kind enough person to watch all my stuff while I go to the can. Things to watch out for- Some of the clientele. Watch out for some of the snooty, pompous & entitled types that act like they're in first class section of the Titanic. Like the kind of people who cut in line, take 10 minutes to ask questions, another 5 to order and then can't pay because they left their purse in the car. (NO JOKE) So they have to run and get it while the rest of us patiently wait in line. Like the kind that come right up to you while you are working on your laptop and ask you what you are doing while they stare at your computer screen. This particular lady didn't say hi or introduce herself and she wasn't flirting either. She just looked at my screen waiting for me to answer with an extremely high sense of entitlement. She did not care one bit who I was, she just wanted her question answered and she did not see anything wrong with trying to see what was on a strangers laptop screen. So, heads up I guess if you have a low tolerance for these types. read more

As a company who strives for consistency in customer experience I strongly urge corporate to look into this location. The last several times I've posted a mobile order I've waited well over 15 minutes after the 3-7 minute promise time. Today however, my order containing two drinks and one bakery item took over 20 minutes. Drink one was completed quickly. Drink two was put out with no sticker and someone else's name was called out. After 15 minutes I asked if the drink was mine and the barista said oh I guess so. Then I said I've been waiting on a bakery item and she said it comes out separately with no concern to look into it for us. Ironically it had been sitting on the bar beside her the whole time. So after showing another barista the order they found the missing item with a simple "here". Zero apology for wait time or both mix ups. I expect way more from Starbucks and will be taking my business to another location. I understand you are busy but a simple acknowledgement and empathy go a long way. I've been to this shop several times. Lines are usually long. Try to use the Starbucks app to get in and out. The taste of the lattes is inconsistent. They don't pay attention or it's too loud. I've had orders taken incorrectly or they weren't even submitted. I got a latte and doughnut. She gave me a doughnut but didn't put in the coffee order. Baristas ignored me while I waited. I went back through the line to ask about my coffee, found out it hadn't been taken, so I paid to get coffee. It has a convenient and usually busy. It also has a nice outdoor sitting area. Fortunately there are other Starbucks that I can get coffee orders where they are friendlier and seem to know what they are doing. read more

I don't understand this place! Sometimes they make your drink right and other times completely wrong. They take so long even when you mobile order that you don't have time to have them remake it. I asked for a venti vanilla sweet cream cold brew. The guy asks me what I'm waiting on after forever and I told him which drink. He then proceeds to make a grande. In the middle of him making it, I ask if it is for me. He says yes, and I tell him it's supposed to be a venti. Then he goes to make this one. When I get it, it has no ice and no vanilla. I didn't have time to wait and tell him again it was wrong. I wasted my money on a not so cheap drink. This is not the first time this has happened. This is ridiculous! read more

This is by far the grossest Starbucks I've ever been. I like my Starbucks, I like I know what I can expect of them: their prices, their quality and they are almost always clean. This place is just the complete opposite: the cashier is very slow and the four other people behind the counter were definitely not helpful, they were also not very friendly whatsoever, the floor was gross, the bathroom was gross ( not to mention they were out of the toilet cover and hand soap for at least a hour), and for some reason one of the barista was having loud chat with one of the customers over the counter, I even heard the barista complained about one of the order (although it might be for a person she knew); all of which I wouldn't expect from Starbucks. This used to be what I considered to be the very best Starbucks in Austin. Easily worthy of five stars. Maybe more. I would drive past no fewer than five Starbucks on my way into work - just to get my coffee from 'this' location. Why? The service was fantastic. When they start your "regular" specialty order - quad shot grande americano with room - as you walk in the door (even when they were busy) and have it ready for you by the time you got to the register you know you're appreciated as a customer. Why? Because the baristas were fun. As a couple other reviewers have noted, they knew their customers and knew who they could joke with and who 'just wanted their coffee' - and they were great about making you happy just to be there. Times are changing... There's been a change in management and a moderate level of turnover in the last few months. Only a handful of the folks who were there six months ago are there now. The new folks know the recipes. The coffee gets served. But the experience isn't the same. Less finesse. Less panache. More 'corporate'. Overall, still the best cup of coffee within walking distance of the Arboretum. I keep hoping these are the hiccups associated with change but as time progresses, I have a greater appreciation for the 'long timers' who still slip in that sly grin and wry comment when I order. read more

5 stars for awesome service!! I came to Starbucks today, for like the first time in 5 years, because I needed to use their Wifi. Lucky them, right?. To not get kicked out, I grabbed a cup of joe. Well, low and behold it got cold. So, I asked them to reheat it for me, and they just gave me a whole new cup for no charge. Now how nice is that? For Starbucks, it's awesome.
