Discovered Epoch Coffee during a Cap10K coffee run. The shop hosted the run which started and stopped at the coffee shop After the run, we received a token for 20% off our order. I was excited to try the cherry chai latte served hot. The drink had a really unique flavor profile with Masala Chai and cherry flavor: slightly tart, subtly sweet, and perfectly balanced with the chai. You can tell they put thought into their specialty drinks. The vibe at Epoch is laid-back, a little eclectic, and a great place to hang out or get some work done. Service was quick and friendly, even during a busy moment. If you're looking to try something different from the standard coffee menu, the cherry chai latte is definitely worth it. Epoch Coffee in Northwest Hills off Far West is a dependable, no-frills kind of coffee shop. There's plenty of seating, including a long communal table that would work well for groups or anyone looking for a shared workspace. It feels like the kind of place with a lot of regulars from the neighborhood. I ordered an iced matcha and a breakfast taco. No complaints on the matcha. The taco was the standard green cart you get at similar quick service places that sits in a hot box, so nothing special there, but it's convenient if you want to grab both coffee and food in one stop. They also have pastries and a few other food options. Coffee offerings are straightforward and familiar, with a few specials on offer. If you are not looking for Epoch Coffee, you might miss it. The signage is prominent, however, the building is gray, which may be the reason it appears to blend into its surroundings. I was at a nearby store when a customer was asking about any nearby coffee places and the store manager recommended Epoch Coffee. I travel down Far West Blvd. quite a lot and this coffee shop never stood out to me. According to my barista, the vanilla latte was most popular. Therefore, I tried that one. Initially, it was very strong. When I added lavender syrup, it tasted very good (I know a repeat experience from another coffee house). In addition, I ordered a biscuit with everything seasoning. The biscuit was crispy and flavorful...a great complement to my latte. There is plenty of free parking. In addition, there is ample indoor and outdoor seating. Several folks appeared to be doing work from the coffee shop. Apparently, they also do chair massages, which a nice perk while you are having a beverage or a bite to eat. In addition to having pastries, they also sale tacos and tamales. All in all, I was pleased with my dining experience at Epoch Coffee. read more

One thing I love about Austin is the amount of coffee shops they have here. I love trying new places out and I haven't run out of them to try yet! This was a new one for me and I really enjoyed this place. The coffee was great, service was quick and friendly and it had a chill vibe and atmosphere. People sitting on their laptops, plenty of seating. They did have a small menu and some pastries. I always love when a place has almond croissants too because that is my favorite. 5 Stars Epoch Coffee Your New Favorite Spot My boyfriend and I stopped by Epoch Coffee on a hot evening, and let me just say, it was a perfect decision. We were instantly intrigued by something on the menu called "freezeys," and after asking the barista what they were, she kindly explained that they're basically frozen, icy versions of whatever flavor you want. Refreshing and simple. Perfect for the weather. We decided on a matcha and a mocha, and I asked her about customizing flavors or adding sweeteners. She advised me that their mocha freezy is naturally sweeter and that adding more might be a bit much. I really appreciated that honest feedback, and she was totally right. Both drinks came out in under five minutes and were absolutely delicious. We were honestly blown away. We tried each other's drinks and both had the same reaction: "These are amazing." We had to pace ourselves not to inhale them in two seconds flat. They were that good. The barista was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly cares about the drinks she's making. That kind of service is a big part of what makes a coffee shop feel special. Inside, the vibe was relaxed and inviting. I was surprised (in a good way!) by the seating layout. There are two long communal tables that could seat about 15-20 people, which worked out great for us since we both had laptops and study materials. The smaller tables might not have fit everything we brought. Even though it was a shared space, everyone was respectful and it never felt crowded or loud. There's also a fun little game corner stocked with card and board games, it was such a charming touch. The music was a bit of a wildcard, but not distracting, and easy to tune out if you're trying to focus. All in all, Epoch has quickly become our new go-to spot. We've already joked (half-seriously) about making Sunday freezy trips a ritual. It's only a short drive away, and with drinks and service this good, I can't imagine not coming back. Sadly, this location hires extremely ageist, rude baristas making this a permanent no for us, which is super disappointing because it's in the neighborhood. We tried many times thinking that everyone has a bad day once in a while and we're not the center of the universe, but time and time again my husband and I witnessed the night and day treatment towards us and the younger, hip patrons and we left feeling pretty disappointed with our experience. If you're over 50, I would stay clear of this ageist, negative staff and spend your money elsewhere. Life is simply too short for this type of nonsense. I tried the blueberry matcha ($6). I saw that it was on the special menu, so I last minute decided to order that. The server recommended it, saying that the blueberry flavor was pretty strong. So I had high expectations! Sadly, I did not really like this drink. It tasted watered down, even when I asked for less ice. I BARELY tasted the blueberry, it was only a very brief taste at the beginning of the sip. The matcha tasted okay. Lots of cool seating inside. Servers were nice!! I really like this coffee house. There are two entrances (easy entrance from multiple parking locations).  There are tables of different sizes throughout the two rooms. This allows group meet-ups or small private conversations. The coffee, tea, cidar, and hot chocolate all taste wonderful.  They also provide really good service. This Epoch Coffee is small and intimate compared to the one on North Loop. I usually only come here to buy coffee beans. I love the inside of this coffee shop because it has so much natural light from the windows and the plants make it feel so lively. They have a huge table in the middle which is kind of community style seating. They also have a few smaller tables in the back corner and a few couches. The parking lot is pretty small but I think you can park on the street. My only con to this coffee shop is that the baristas could be nicer :) read more

I am typing this review as music that makes me feel like I am being chased in the jungle is blasting. Pretty much everybody in the cafe is working or studying, but the loud, dissonant music is not conducive to a good work environment. They have very few outlets. I recommend they invest in a few charging stations. It is also too cold inside. I had the iced mojo, and it was really good and sweet, although $4.50 is quite expensive. read more

I think I can count on my hand the number of times a coffee place has made me do a double take (double sip?) when their drink is so good. Just a fun place to hang out and either work or sot with friends for a few hours. Their staff has always been kind and offers good suggestions on drinks. Finally tried Epoch and I love local coffee shops. They have their own drink called mojo (think pre made iced latte vibes) and I loved it. It is very sweet, but I like that! My husband got half mojo half iced coffee and liked it as well. Lots of seating, many people had laptops and were working. This is such a fantastic coffee shop - I love getting work done here ! The staff is great, very kind and helpful, and the coffee itself is delicious. Make sure to ask if there are any specials as they are constantly adding new and interesting things to try. Every time I've been in the people working have been attentive and helpful, giving suggestions and making friendly conversation. There's a lot of natural light and many people happily working away - plus great music. This Epoch location feels different than the other two that I've been to and I like it! The environment feels nice and I love the big table they have there. I noticed that this location had more professionals vs students at the 24 hour location and it's a lot more quiet. I came during the day on a week day around 12:30 and there were a few parking spots. But when I left around 3:30, there were no spots so I can imagine parking might be difficult here at certain times. I docked off one star because despite the cortado was really pretty, the coffee had a bit bitter taste to it. Nevertheless, I enjoy this environment to get some work done! read more

If you havent checked out this location, what are you doing? The interior is hella nice, which you don't see very often in many Austin coffee shops-- they've got long, spacious tables, natural lighting, and a very open ambiance. Perfect for studying, reading, catching up with people, and anything you plan on doing. The service here is extraordinary. I asked about the Iced Mojo and they let both me and my friend try it (it's really good, but a little too sweet for my taste). Very friendly dudes -- I accidentally forgot to mention that I wanted almond milk in my iced latte and they just made me another one and let me keep the first one. I would definitely come back just because of how kind the employees are here. I LOVE the aesthetic of this place. In the past I've had good experiences at other Epoch locations with a brewed pot of Zhi tea and a pastry. This chain seems to attract quiet, solo workers, which is great for dedicated study time. I'm writing this review to remind myself not to get the chai ever again. I don't know what they do, but I cannot handle the spice blend they use. It's super bitter and overwhelming, and yet I keep making the same mistake and ordering the same drink, then being disappointed. So note to self: order the steeped tea, not the chai next time. Would recommend for studying but not social conversation, unless you're outdoors, since it feels weird to interrupt the quiet, studious vibe. read more
