I have always received wonderful service here! Everyone is always so friendly and the owner always makes sure you are served promptly. If you call to make an appointment and they happen to be busy, they always call back quickly. I go to Cris for manicures and he is an amazing, freehand nail artist! Always nails it (pun intended), even I don't have a design in mind myself. He remembers what you like and don't like, and I really appreciate that! I go to Tina for pedicures, and she is fast but takes good care of you! Cindy and Sophie are also wonderful! Again, everyone here is very sweet, and it's always fun to chat with all the nail techs while they work. Regulars are always welcomed by name and they give you a small complimentary bottle of water. I went to Star Nails for the first time. I selected the second pedicure option with gel and a reg manicure. It had what I needed at a price I would pay. My friend chose the third pedicure option and gel nails nail polish to match her feet. After it was all done I found out I had the 3rd option not what I selected -at a higher cost than I anticipated. They left my price at the one I selected which was fair. I will caution you - be clear about what you want - I suggest Star give a written menu and you select your choice in writing - to save any uncomfortable miscommunication. This can potentially lose clients. I did feel like I was unknowingly upsold. All said they did such a nice job and everyone that helped us was very nice. They did an excellent pedicure/manicure. Took their time. My friend looked beautiful she had gel nail polish and gel toenail polish! II will say everything was done without feeling hurried and I would recommend them. Last week on Saturday 1/17 I went to get my nails done. I wanted a pedicure and a mani with builder gel, everything was fine until Friday 1/23 all of my nails had a weird spot underneath and by the end of the day all of them had fallen out, I only have 3 on my left hand that actually stayed. This is quite literally the worst manicure and pedicure i have ever gotten. My nails are lumpy AND bubbly. The lady kept messing up and redoing it with a towel which left hairs in my nails. On top of that she filed my skin. When she was cutting my cuticles she managed to puncture my skin and make me bleed. This entire process took 2 1/2 hours. She got paint all over my hands which I had to get off myself. I still paid, and she had the audacity to ask for tip. read more

Bummer I thought I would splurge And get a mani/pedi. Normally I do my own nails ( I'm a hair stylist) or go to top star nails in Tierrsanta. It's been over a yr. Since I moved so I wanted a nail place close to my new home. Pedicure ( Sophie) super rushed and just a bad pedicure. I could have polished better my self. I got the deluxe pedicure here. Amanda was amazing and able to get me and my friend in right away. The salt scrub was fantastic and I felt the price was very fair compared to other salons. Inside they have an amazing wave wall decor. My polish looks great and the nail shape was perfect. My friend also got the deluxe pedicure by Michael and he did a Halloween themed toe with spider webs. It was the most perfect artwork we have seen! Great experience overall. I would actually rate my experience zero stars. I came i. For a walk in at opening time and was told by the two lady's that were there to sit at seat one and wait. No problem there. Again im trying to show her exactly what I wanted and huffing and puffing she again is gluing on some stiletto tips i did not want. I tried to explain the length I wanted as she Already cut my nail tips short! She rolls her eyes gets up and starts speaking another language obviously irritated! She does not come back for a few min. Enough time fkr me to be completely embarrassed and wondering what I did wrong. I politely go up a and dismissed myself. Star Nails is a fun and quirky nail salon because it has ocean animal all over the walls! They have a large selection of dip nail polish, which is amazing because I feel like a lot of nail salons don't have a ton of dip colors! I made an appointment for 10 on a Thursday morning and this place was packed!! They got to my nails pretty quickly, but it took a while for my pedicure. I wish nail salons would spread their appointments out more or not take as many walk-ins, but honestly, this has been the case at every nail salon I've ever visited. Plus, I'm glad to see businesses doing well after COVID, so while it took longer than I wanted, I was waiting for a good reason. They did a very careful job on my nails, which I appreciate! I hate when I pay the extra money for gel or dip and they do a rushed job. My nail technician was working quickly, but carefully as well.
