I called ahead to ask if they had dip powder and was told they did so I went ahead and made an appt. Once I was settled in my chair, and was asked to pick my color, I was then told they only have clear dip powder and they go over it with gel. Gel chips faster on me so I was not happy about being mislead but since I was already there and they were already working on my pedicure, I decided to just go with it. The ladies working on my hands and feet were both super sweet and I thought they did a great job polishing and shaping. However, a few days after, my "dip" manicure started chipping and looked terrible within a week. If you like to get dip manicures then I would skip this place, however if you get anything else then this place does a pretty good job and prices are fair! read more

Came here for the first time. I didn't make an appointment but they were able to seat me right away for a mani/pedi. I just took off gel, so I only got polish. The lady that did my nails did a really good job, especially the pedi. My only complaint was the top coat of polish on my nails does not cover the entire nail, so they will probably chip a bit faster than normal. I came here for the first time today and was pretty upset with my acrylic gel nails done by Kevin, however very happy with the pedicure with Kate hence the mid-rating at a 3. Kevin rushed through my acrylic gel nails. They were done in 20 minutes which is fairly quick for a full set in gel. You can imagine it'd be hard to do a good, or even decent, job in 20 minutes. He ensured to ask if everything looked good but there was really no going back at this point. Needless to explain further, there is a fat glob of acrylic and gel on my pinky finger that's so uneven compared to the other nails (which are all uneven just not nearly as noticeable). :(. I think he knew his job was mediocre as he mentioned the nails came out the way they did because of my natural nail shape, yet when I've gotten them done elsewhere this has never been a problem. Just wish he spent more time paying attention here. On a better note, Kate was awesome. This might have been one of the best pedicures I've gotten. I've been coming since high school days (almost 10 years) off and on, and have been satisfied every time I've left here. The atmosphere is wonderful and all the nail techs are so nice! I wanted to say that Lisa is truly amazing. I called at 615pm last night, needing a fill desperately, not realizing they closed at 7pm. I wasn't able to get there until right at 7, but she told me she would take me. I ended up asking about a quick Pedicure too and she said no problem. " Super Comfortable Pedicure & Manicure " Today I was looking for another place to get a pedicure and manicure. I went to La Vie Nails & Spa in Santee and had a very nice experience. Mai started with me as she sat me in the massage chair, put my feet in the water and did my manicure. Mai was very nice as she very carefully did my manicure. While Mai was doing my manicure, Tracy started doing my pedicure. I have never had both procedures done at the same time by two different people. Tracy was very careful as I told her I have very sensitive feet, and she did a great job very carefully clipping out my in grown toe nails. Tracey also did a nice massage of my dry legs with some lotion which was very relaxing. And while I was sitting in the massage chair enjoying the manicure, pedicure, and massage, Kelvin the manager came by and offered me a cocktail, wine, or champagne drink. Wow ! that was awesome ! Overall I love this place. This is a piece of advice if you come. Don't let the guy do your nails and especially your pedicure. Pretty sure he took a lunch while my callus / mud mask "soaked" thinking maybe he just did things different I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. He came back did the 10 minute text book massage and put my feet in parrafin wax and SWEPT THE FLOOR while again "they soaked". This is my place - I will be back. I seldom leave reviews, especially bad ones, but for ladies that care about the health and strength of their real nails beneath the gel polish, steer clear. I get gel manicures every two weeks and decided to try a new place due to convenience. I was originally impressed by the prompt service and relaxing atmosphere of this salon. Kelvin was doing my nails and I requested a gel manicure with a design. He didn't have the exact design I was looking for, but offered alternate nail studs that I was happy with. Although those fell off less than an hour after I left the salon, he was happy to take the remaining ones off and finish my nails with another layer of clear gel, as well as refund my money for the design the same day. When he started removing my old gel manicure, he used the drill (or electric file) to remove the top layer. This was normal, but after soaking my nails in acetone, he still used this tool to remove remaining gel from my bare nail. This was uncomfortable almost to the point of pain, and I expressed my concern about my nails becoming too thin. He told me not to worry. Fast forward a week later, and of course my nails started to break one by one. When I removed the gel using a regular file and nail polish remover, my nails underneath were grotesquely thin, pliable, and both splitting and breaking. I haven't seen this kind of damage since I stopped getting acrylic nails a year ago. I called the salon and let Kelvin know that I would be leaving a bad review, and he asked me to come by. When I did, he berated me by saying my nails looked like this because of acrylics, which I already mentioned I haven't had in a year. He also told me he doesn't use the drill tool for gel manicures, which he definitely used when he did my nails. His original solution for me: Keep getting gel manicures. I told him I would, but elsewhere. Then when I was leaving, he told me to give my nails a break from manicures. I was tired of arguing in front of the entire salon, so I left and let him know I would be leaving a review. This is when he told me he would have his legal team contact me if I left a "wrong" review. Absolutely ridiculous! Feel free to have your lawyers contact me, just don't destroy any more nails like you did mine. read more

DO NOT COME HERE ESPECIALLY DURING COVID! 1. Asked if my tech could wear gloves and she said no, she couldn't do them with gloves while the other tech had on gloves. 2. Of the 8 seats in the shop that's designated for nails they chose to have 2 techs working and side by side (definitely not 6 feet apart) but I didn't say anything about that. 3. My appointment was at 6 and I waited 20 minutes before being seated and then disappointed that she wouldn't wear gloves. 4. Only reason I give a 2 instead of 1 is that they did check for temperatures right at entering. I wasted time and could have gone elsewhere to not get service! Why wouldn't am establishment touching people be privy to wearing gloves now!!! Smh! Dont waste a trip. read more
