Customer Service was amazing! Destiny did my nails and she did exactly what I asked for. She also made sure I was comfortable the entire time with everything she was doing.

Tony did an amazing job! I wanted short nails with a French tip and he delivered! Super friendly staff. Definatley make an appointment, they are busy for a reason. Today was my first time but I have now secured my new nail tech for ongoing maintenance! 10/10 recommend!

Went in on Wednesday but didn't realize it was by appointment but they were able to squeeze us in. Told us there was a 30 mins wait so we just walked around the store next door. They took us in before 30 mins so my bf got a manicure and pedicure and I got a full set. The gentleman suggested I do glitter and I'm glad he suggested that. The staff were all so very nice and welcoming. My nails came out so cute and just how I wanted them with shape and length. There is plenty of parking in front. To avoid the wait I would suggest making an appointment. Will definitely be back again soon!

WOW. I mean, just WOW. Annie (nail tech) just kills it every damn time. She is so talented! Any shape and design that you have she can recreate and make look better than the inspo pic!!!! Every time I leave the salon I can't stop staring at my nails and I get compliments on them everywhere I go. The precision, the attention to detail, the speed and steadiness Annie possesses is just top notch. She cleans up my nails fast and it literally feels like nothing. She is highly efficient, which I loveeeeee! She makes it look like she's been doing this since she was a baby. She's just that good. She's literally the best nail tech I've ever had in my life, and trust me, I've been to so many nail salons across San Diego and you won't find better than Annie and the team at MK nails! The Prices are affordable for the quality of work. I do a lot of housework and I am a compulsive hand washer and my nails last 4-6 weeks without polish chipping, no nail lifting, and no broken nails! I could go a full 6 weeks in between appointments, but I just love switching up my nail designs. On top of Annie's great work, she is kind, sweet, considerate, professional, friendly and the greatest nail tech ever. I know I'm hyping her up, but that's only because she's legitimately that good. You have to come here and ask for her, she won't disappoint at all. The other techs Tony and Wee are just as amazing and talented! I've seen their work on clients and their nails come out so beautiful and so clean and I am always in awe of their work as well! Don't forget to try them out for Pedicures! Destiny and Ella give the best pedicures in town! I've only had Annie do my nails so that's why I speak about her. The nail techs here at MK nails are worth tipping well because they offers high quality service. It's been a journey finding a nail salon and a nail tech, but I've been with Annie for a while and I can definitely and confidentially say ANNIE IS THE SAN DIEGO NAIL QUEEN and MK Nails is the best salon in East County/San Diego. If you're reading this, stop searching and book now because you won't find better than these guys! And if you're reading this Annie, just know l'll be back again and again. Thank you for everything and making me feel pretty! Here are just a few of the sets Annie has done for me!

Tony and Annie are so friendly and efficient! My mom gave me a gift certificate to try them out. Gel mani/pedi was exactly what I needed. Tons of massage chairs for pedis, tons of seats for manis. I love this nail salon! The technicians are all very friendly and professional. Tony did my nails and I am so happy with the results. I barely had to tell him what I wanted and he had so many great suggestions about the type of powder and design I should get. Not only is their quality of work fantastic they are also extremely fast and proficient. I made and appointment at 12 pm for a full acrylic set and gel pedicure and I was out of the salon within roughly an hour which is usually unheard of at the other salons I have been to. I believe this salon is typically appointment only but I can definitely understand why since this is such a great salon.

First time ever coming here and I'm very pleased with the results & experience. We walked in, immediately greeted. Everyone was super nice & very welcoming. I went in with my cousin, she was the first to get her nails done cause they were all busy, and I had to wait about 20 mins (which is completely fine with me). I showed & told him what I wanted, and he said "let's do it" so of course I was excited about it. He was gentle with my nails, was making jokes, was sweet, and overall good nail tech, definitely knows what he's doing. My nails were supposed to be originally $55-65 I think.. but I got them for $45 cause they are having a "new management" discount, 15%!! But I would definitely recommend this place!!

I just love this nail salon! The family that runs this place are so incredibly talented! They are so fast, which is needed for my busy life and they are just the kindest and most respectful people! They are always so busy so be sure to book an appointment if you need to get your nails done when you walk through their doors. And if you don't have an appointment, and they cannot take you because they are booked, PLEASE be kind and respectful to them! They would love your business, but if they are booked, they are booked. They respect their clients time too much to take a walk in right before an appointment just to make an extra buck. They strive to be on time and never make you wait when you have an appointment! I am grateful for that because I don't have time to sit and wait when I've made an appointment. And they always do such a fantastic job! Look how beautiful this set is!

I did a walk in on a Thursday around 5 PM for a pedicure. The service was great, I didn't enjoy the massage chair because I had a various amount of settings. It was quite a peaceful setting since they were not busy at the time and we were able to service me in a timely fashion. read more

They are very rude, especially Wee, he starts getting mad when you tell him you don't like something or he calls it ugly and he's just plain disrespectful. And another nail tech Annie was just plain rude after asking for a simple French tip design she got annoyed and said you can't do this and that. Please reconsider before going here! read more

The best! The ABSOLUTE BEST!!! New to the area, but I'm in the military so I went to get my nails done at a different salon for the Navy Ball and they were so bad that as I was getting my eyebrows done here she told me to come back when I had time and she'd fix them. She charged me but WOW were they worth it!!! My acrylic fix's stayed on for 4 weeks and they were still stunning beautiful after they were that grown out. The owner in fantastic and the amount of people that are regulars here confirms my interaction wasn't a one time thing. Will absolutely be coming back! read more

I've always thought about coming to this nail salon every time I pass it. Today I finally did and I'm SO HAPPY. I have found my new nail tech. I requested a few designs on my manicure and got exactly what i wanted. She did amazing on making sure every inch of my nails got product (I've had issues before at other salons slacking on that). Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because she tore up some cuticles but i can overlook it since it's my first time there. Otherwise, it was amazing. read more

Ladies (& gents) I cannot say enough about how great this nail salon is. 1000% recommend. I moved here from OC during COVID and tried place after place in East Cty with nothing but disappointment. Lots of high prices and poor quality. This salon is the best of the best! Everyone here is focused on customer service, detail, and pride in their work. They are timely and well priced. Wee is 100% the best. Since coming here, I can go almost 3 weeks between fills with no chips or missing nails. Weekend like all nail salons are busy so appointments are preferred. MK nails and Spa is hands down the best nail salon I have ever been to. I am so happy the location is so convenient for me. I can confidently say I would travel an hour to get the service and skill level I receive here. There are tons of nail salons everywhere, but this is the first nail salon I have been to that actually specializes in shape and design. You can go in there with an idea and Tony will deliver! My last few services there I have had to return for a gel manicure twice and a pedicure. My last gel pedicure didn't even last 3 weeks when normally they last 1.5 months. They chip or lift really fast. I would have given a 2 but they are really nice but I'm moving on read more

I highly recommend this salon. I have gotten the Orange Tangerine Pedicure (32$) twice. Both times I was very happy with the service. The technician wore gloves both times which I appreciate. I also appreciate that they use fresh supplies. I watched the technician open the supply package right in front of me. Unfortunately at other salons this was not the case. I dropped by today for a new set. They were busy so I made an appointment to come back later in the day and I am SO happy I did! I've been looking for a great place in east county since I'm extremely picky about my nail shape. Annie is my new nail person because my nails are absolute perfection!!! I'm a regular here and recently had a unique situation that was ultimately fixed…read more I came in with long natural nails, but one (my pointer finger) had broken. Lina had a great solution and did an amazing job matching it with an acrylic extension--you can't even tell in the photo. That said, if you're in a similar situation, I'd recommend asking for Gel-X instead of acrylic. The acrylic ended up feeling loose and didn't hold well, so I had to come back before leaving for a trip. To their credit, Sunny Nails squeezed me in the very next day. Another technician quickly assessed the issue, removed the acrylic, and replaced it with Gel-X (a full, strong nail--not just a tip). The result was flawless--she shaped it beautifully, and I was able to enjoy my trip with perfect nails. The only downside was the experience during the fix. The technician seemed frustrated, didn't respond to my thank you, and abruptly turned off the blue light and walked away without acknowledgment. It felt a bit uncomfortable--especially since I had already paid extra for the initial service and had to come back. Overall, they made it right, and I appreciate the quality of the final result--just wish the customer experience during the correction matched it.

She seemed as though she was in a rush while doing both my nails and wax. She continually pushed my cuticle back in a rough manner while painting my nails. Absolutely horrible service today! Tiny shop ran by a husband and wife team. They seem to have a faithful clientele, easily talking to all their customers by name and noting that they will see the again soon. It's not fancy at all so if you have lower expectations of a salon experience, this is perfect. I like to get fancy pedicures once in a while but can't afford it with the $60-90 price range and options. For something low key, just to get your nails done simply with no fuss or fanciness, this was perfect. They did an efficient and clean job, and my regular pedi was only $35 with $5 extra for a salt scrub. Since it's just the two of them, the place is tiny with only three pedicure/massage chairs and two manicure stations. They're happy to take walk-ins as I don't think they get too busy.. but there were two customers before us and two after, so we just happened to come at the perfect time for just the two of them to handle everyone with little wait. I'm sure it helps to call for an appointment though. Their polish selection is limited. Again, if you adjust your expectations, this is a great salon. For non-fancy people, my daughter and I were happy and will be back. My wallet is especially happy!

Visiting from Northern CA. Found MK Nails and Hair on Yelp. Went in for a manicure & pedicure. Got there shortly after they opened and was the only one there for the duration of my pampering. What a wonderful experience! They were very attentive. Where I was sitting the sun was reflecting off of a car windshield and shining in my face. The car belonged to the owner and she went out and moved her car! I was not expecting that. I got the organic mani pedi and it was wonderful! Linda did my pedicure and Michelle did my manicure. Very soothing and relaxing. Between the sugar scrub, massage, hot wax and hot stone treatment I was in heaven. Did I forget to mention that they offer a 20% discount for first time customers AND you get a complimentary cocktail??!! I had a lychee mimosa....it was delicious! I definitely recommend MK Nails and Hair to anyone who is looking for a great mani pedi and some extra pampering. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm down visiting. I got my nails done a few months ago at another nail salon for an event but really disliked the end result. The acrylic was way too thick and basically, the previous nail technician didn't take her time at all. Luckily I found Michelle! She's a nail technician here at MK nails and hair and fixed my acrylics to my liking. She was extremely sweet and definitely cares about what I want. She checks in while doing my nails to make sure I'm satisfied and makes necessary changes if I ask. I wasn't the kind of person to get my nails done on a regular basis but after meeting Michelle, I can't stop haha I've gone back to her multiple times in the past few months and have been satisfied with all my results. I work in an environment where I constantly wash my hands, sanitize them and use lotion but my nails don't lift even after a few weeks! I love how natural they look and feel. Definitely a go to place :) read more

This was such a welcomed relief to some of the nail salons I've been to! Great service and they took their time and stayed with me instead of feeling like some past nail technicians who would juggle between me and other clients finishing off paint jobs etc. Lots of interaction with the staff and conversation so plenty of laughs which I enjoyed :) the quality of nails is excellent as well, very natural looking like a natural nail even though they were acrylics. Very thin and well sculpted and Kristi was very helpful picking colors for my daughter and Michelle who did my nails offered good advice for colors that I could use and showed me pictures as well as the nail models. Emmy gave an excellent foot massage. I could go on and on, needless to say I will definitely be making this my new nail home!!! read more

I absolutely love this salon! I have never posted a review before, but felt compelled to let everyone know just how great this place is. Everyone here is very polite, friendly, and professional. I have my nails done by Kristy, and she does a phenomenal job!! I like that she shapes your nails to your personal taste, and she is extremely meticulous. I had to postpone my fill, and at three weeks out I had no chipping or lifting. My last visit I had a Spa pedicure by Amy. She did an extraordinary job!! She took her time, each of the treatments were wonderful (including the massage and hot rocks!). My pedicure still looks great. I've already booked my next appointments! The prices at the salon are very reasonable. I am so happy I found this place!!! This is now my new salon. read more

When I first got here, I was only taking my girl to get her nails done, but she eventually convinced me to get a pedicure with her. For it being my first time, I didn't know what to expect. The people at MK Nails and Hair ended up taking care of me and making my feet look AND feel better than when I walked in. My girl on the other hand (no pun intended), also got a manicure. We both picked a subtle light blue nail polish, and later that night when we went out to dinner, it complimented her dress so nicely. My girl was looking fire, and her nails were like the cherry on top. Definitely coming back here again because the service was amazing, the atmosphere was welcoming, and overall just a good first experience they showed us to me and my girl. read more

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I LOVE THIS SALON! I have had everyone in the shop work on me and everyone has been amazing. Annie is my girl though! She is an ARTIST at designs so if you've always wished you could do the nails you see on social media, this girl can! She remembers exactly how I like my nails so we decided going forward, unless it's something I'm dying for I'm just going to let Annie decide what design to do! I have NEVER trusted a nail tech enough to do that, but I'm not only comfortable dojng that, I am looking forward to seeing what she comes up with! I have recently switched nail salons. Really hard to find a decent nail salon that is timely and pays attention to detail. I make an appointment for a reason not to wait 30 + minutes AFTER my appointment time to even get my feet into water. You WILL NOT experience that at MK Salon. They are prompt and go the extra mile. Wee (not sure on spelling) did my pink and whites to perfection. I am super picky and I find it very hard to find someone that can master the French manicure. Look no further. He is a AMAZING! I absolutely love this place! My parents and I came here on Father's Day for a little pampering, and boy did Michelle and her team deliver! My mother and I got gel manicures and deluxe pedicures while my dad got the volcanic pedicure. Not only did we get beautiful manicures and pedicures, but we also got an amazing foot massage and a free beverage (I got the lychee mimosa - so worth it!). You absolutely have to try this place out. In addition to the amazing manicures and pedicures, you'll also enjoy a friendly staff who are all about making you feel comfortable. Everything about the setting is relaxing and enjoyable. Took my daughter here yesterday for a mommy/daughter date. It was our first time visiting. We did have an appointment and were seating in pedicure chairs right away. Both of us got pedicures and manicures. (I got gel on my hands) The ladies at the salon were very attentive, super sweet, and they did a great job. Yesterday's visit will not be our last. This will likely be our go-to place from this time on. The salon isn't huge, but it was very clean and modern. Most important to me - they treated both my daughter and I wonderfully and the pedicure was to die for. I believe their prices were fare. I would recommend this nail salon. read more

Decided to try this place since the place next to rite aid has gone down hill. LOVE it, the staff are super friendly and speak good English! Came in on a Saturday afternoon and they were able to get me right in. I decided to get my toes done in gel (no pedicure since I got one two weeks ago) and she really cleaned my toes up, trimmed whatever cuticles needed, filed every nail perfectly and even took the time at the end to make sure there went any bubbles. I came here for a full set and a pedicure. The pedicure was good! It's been a week and a half and the polish is still holding up well. I'd come back just to sit in the comfy massage chairs! Leaving the salon, I liked how my acrylic nails looked. Unfortunately, my nails started lifting after less than a week. It's been about a week and a half since I was there, and I lost a nail today and part of another one chipped off a few days ago. I don't do any sort of rough work that would justify the acrylic not holding up. Disappointed in the product. read more

A new nail place always makes me a little nervous because my hands are very sensitive, but Kristy made me feel so comfortable and confident in her abilities. Kristy took her time removing the old acrylic, alway checked to make sure I was comfortable, and she was soooo gentle. Not only that, but I told her what I wanted and she went above and beyond to make it look just right. If you want natural and delicate looking nails, I highly recommend Kristy. Ok, so I rarely get my nails done because the few times I've done it, my nail beds get cut or my cuticles get hurt from the nail tools... But Diane at MK Nails was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!! I am so excited I can come get my nails done without Any pain! She was so gentle and professional! Today my husband and I came to this establishment for spa pedicures but I also received a full acrylic set. My experience here was amazing Khristy did my set and pedicure excellent work she gave me everything thing I asked for. Very friendly staff. Diana did my husband's pedicure he said that he was very happy with the service and will be back! I have been coming to see Wee, Annie, and Tony for the last year and a half! You will never be disappointed with either of them! All 3 do great with your nails and toes!!!
