The price is $10 higher than my last place. I don't mind because I've always felt pedicures were very underpriced for such a labor-intensive service. But it is on the high end for my budget. I love that I can book via text. Parking is easy. The place is large, clean, and air-conditioned. They offer drinks. The color selection of regular polish is decent. They set a timer for the massage. They don't polish the cut edge of the toenail (in my experience), which is a finishing touch I really appreciate. I'm sure they'd do it if I asked, but I rather not have to.

Yet that still would've been less painful than this appointment. Some family and I came in for pedicures and two out of 5 of us have specific techs they request or they won't even bother. I generally don't mind; They never shape my nails to my toe, they instead shape to the nail leaving a good amount of them crooked, but I get to relax which is my main goal so I make an exception. This appointment I was paired w Joanne. Things started out okay until she starts cutting my cuticles. On both of my big toes, she went so deep into my sidewalls it felt like she was cutting the skin under my nail plates. I start to worry a little but didn't want to micromanage, especially this early into an appointment so I just pushed through the discomfort. Then she starts painting the base coat and I noticed a decent heat spike on my left big toe that felt as if gel was being cured to my sidewall. I figured I'll just fix it when I get home if she doesn't, and again, not to micromanage. Then once she moves on to the French tips, she uses the basic, *paint the entire toe then remove the excess with heaps of acetone* method which is not my preference due to contact dermatitis but I digress. She spends extra time on my left big toe, to which that same left sidewall starts burning where she cut way too low. The pain starts becoming unmanageable so I ask her to "Please stop using the acetone on my toe because it is starting to burn." She nods and continues doing exactly what I'd asked her to stop. I lean closer and softly exclaim while pointing to my toe "Please no more on this toe. It's burning, I'm in pain." She says, "Ooooh okay!" Then goes back in towards my toe w the brush. I stopped her again and got louder in case she simply couldn't hear and said, "It is burning me. No more acetone." She proceeds to ignore me so I raise my voice again and say, "It's done! No more! My toe is burning! Move on!" She tried once more before I yelled, "NO!" until finally she moved onto the right foot after letting out a loud sigh. The right big toe had the same lroblem but after the hassle it took to get her to stop the left toe, I just accepted defeat and was just painstakingly waiting for this service to be over. The massage begins and I was at least relived the painting was over and the relaxing part was about to begin. Then she starts gripping my legs with the strength of a thousand Hulks. It was already getting pretty painful after a very short amount of time on only one leg so I already knew this wasn't gonna be pleasant. It felt like the longest massage on the planet but I wasn't keeping track because my face was clenched shut, and I'm just squirming all over trying to power through. My legs were still sore from my appointment over 6 hours later. When I got home, I feel around on the left big toe to see why it was STILL in so much pain. Mind you, I had not touched my toenails in over a month besides buffing the shine off my previous pedicure, so they were nice and strong ahead of my appointment. Now the entire left half of my big toenail is paper thin and incredibly flimsy to the lightest touch, especially closest to the spot that was burning from the la and acetone. The other side of the nail, still being rock solid from the original strength I walked in with. There's barely enough nail plate left, even with the gel, to protect my nail bed from even the slightest of pressure, let alone the chemical reaction of curing gel polish. It's been almost a month and I'm still so upset about this. I'd spent nearly 7 months regaining natural strength in my toenails after years of gel and Joanne did significant damage to all of that progress. Toenails grow in half as fast as fingernails so this is gonna take quite some time to not only just grow that damage out, but to retrain that side of my toenail to grow back in properly w/o risking further damage or pain. With this experience I've learned that the posture pain is not THAT bad compared to the chance of risking the integrity of my nails, and if you want the job done correctly, don't trust a salon to do it! Update: The manager reached out to me with full compensation and many apologies that was greatly appreciated. Joanne will remain at the salon.

I don't know if Linh is not experienced in Gel-X fill (she didn't even clean underneath my fingernails at all and they came out all lumpy) or she just had a bad day. Automatically she was in a bad mood the minute I sat in her chair. She had on a "stank" face and the way she spoke to me was extremely rude (what did IIIIIIII do to you??). I was going to do my nails myself but decided to go back and I must say the vibe was still great and they nailed my design inspo, however I had a different manicure nail tech this time. The issue I have with this is that the Gel-X application quality was not maintained like it was my first visit. About 1.5 weeks in and I noticed not one but BOTH of my pinky fingers have lifted significantly. For reference I don't do any crazy manual labor outside of the house and I literally wear gloves for everything at home . The first time I came to LK I had no lifting at all for almost 2mo.(pic included) What's even worse is that I had high expectations of consistency since there were no problems with the 2 ppl who switched off on my purple set. I paid (after tips) around $177. I'm super disappointed because I was going to do my own nails but decided to go back since my first time was so great but this was the result. As for me and my house I will continue to save my money and do my nails at home with lasting results.

The photos attached are only a couple out of, like I said, about a decade's worth of nail sets (and don't even include all of the pedicures done by Twin - AN ABSOLUTE SUPERSTAR!). The salon as a whole is always clean, bright, and something fun to watch. Even after she left for college and then came back, her Mom continued to do my nails and continued the same fabulous work.
