Bulent is the best! He gave an arrival window of 8:00 to 8:30 and called at 8:05 to let me know he was a few minutes away. (I can't help but compare to this to times when other service calls aren't on time and don't call.) Upon arrival, he presented his card, professionally introduced himself, and asked if he should take off his shoes. (I said he didn't need to, though he did later anyway.) Bulent re-keyed the locks for me at a house I purchased, and he also fixed several functional issues in the process (missing screws on strike plates, deadbolts that weren't quite properly aligned and required annoying door jiggling, and at my request replaced a front door "lever" that looked nice but was less practical than a knob). He gave multiple options for how to proceed in terms of re-keying vs. upgrading hardware and putting all doors/locks on one key or separate keys, and was upfront about the total pricing of each scenario. Once that was settled, he got right to work. In less than a hour, I had my new keys and locks that all work exactly the way they should. Part of this involved some minor wood chiseling, and he picked up every last piece and shaving. Also, he remembered that I mentioned finding him on yelp and proactively applied the 10% discount. Polite, professional, efficient, no pricing surprises, and does great work! Bulent was the first to respond to my Yelp request for a locksmith. He engaged me in a text dialogue to help figure out the need and the cost. I later received a notification from another locksmith and had a conversation with him, so I had the process of deciding between them. Bulent's prices were better. He was also available sooner. He arrived earlier than the scheduled time. He texted me to alert me he was available because he had completed his other job, and we were able to meet earlier. He wore a mask and was sensitive to social distancing recommendations. He was very appropriate and professional, he worked quickly and efficiently and had completed my job in less than an hour. We finally found Bulent Hatipoglu at Star Locksmith, LLC to replace our front door lock set. Our house is 100 years old and we had 2 other locksmiths out to assess our front door and got two different quotes that did not ever begin to address our needs and desires. I didn't know service like this still exsisted. I called Bulent because I wanted a dead bolt installed in our front door. We set up an appointment for later that afternoon and it's done! Bulent volunteered his credentials at the door which would put anyone at ease. We analyzed the situation and he came up with a very fair price on the spot. He had a great supply of stock with him and gave us choices and good advice what to pick to match other fixtures in the house. Someone filled the lock to my outdoor bike shed with a rock hard glue or epoxy so that the key could not enter at all. I had read online about all the problems this can cause for locksmiths, but Bulent got the job done quickly and carefully. After I told him about the problems I had read about online, he explained exactly how he avoided them (it involved scraping away some glue after drilling through the 1st pin, instead of just drilling right through to the 2nd pin). Then he replaced the cylinder and gave me 2 keys. It was a quick fix to an unusual problem. Now I just hope I don't need to call him again. read more

Bulent was excellent! We had a problem with an older rear door not locking properly. He came by with his assistant and quickly diagnosed the issue. The issue with the door turned out not be the lock on the door, but related to the hinges. He obtained new hinges and replaced them in a timely manner. Bulent could not do a Lexus key for me, but he did say if I was in a hurry that there was a shop in Brighton that might be a little higher / pricy. When I called the lock ____ in Brighton they priced a lexus key, no wireless. Brighton quoted me $95. I kindly explained that I could have Lexus make me a new key for $60.... he then offered to make it for $55. Draw your own conclusions. Bulent or ???
