LOOK NO FURTHER! Excellent service, reasonable, showed up on time- A+++ Weekdays til 7p & Saturdays (no nights/no Sundays) Vmail was full but he called right back fyi (I also texted) Andre arrived today SAME DAY within the hour, made no promises, honored the price he quoted in advance which was more reasonable than other quotes, and knew what he was doing. Called him for one locked-out bedroom door, and ended up having him check the whole house and address several issues. He was efficient and fair. Found my new locksmith! Our locked-out bedroom door was indeed tough to open (commercial lockset, lock in the doorknob spindle, tight access) but he was resourceful, and got it open without any damage. Nothing more can be done without replacing the whole knob/lockset, so we'll just be careful it doesn't accidentally lock again. He seemed fair and capable, and since he was there I asked if he'd check a couple other doors. He agreed to take a look. Handed him a big bag of random unmarked keys received from the house's previous owners, none of which we've been able to match to the 19 existing locks on all 15 doors. He went through the entire house systematically, explained the situation with each type of lock, found several keys that actually worked after all, tightened a couple of loose knobs and plates, showed how to open the bathroom door locks if needed, and rekeyed/ made keys for three exterior door locks which we didn't have any keys for. AWESOME. He charged very fairly: one $29. service fee, $95. for the lockout, $95 per rekeyed lock, $5 per key, plus $10. for carefully filing the frame of another deadbolt that has a key, but it wasn't aligned and wouldn't close completely. Works fine now. I've had locksmiths before and it's been costly and sometimes a bit sketchy, so never had them do more than deal with the one locked door we had to call them for. Andre was solid, and it's a big relief to get all these keys and doors reviewed and documented clearly. He's busy, but he also answered quicker than others I called- maybe he doesn't have such a high volume because he doesn't advertise online. Saving this number for sure.
