Suren Sherman Lock is the best! He was extremely quick, professional, and got the job done in literally about 5 minutes. I was locked out and he came through right away and had everything taken care of super fast. Great service and definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a locksmith in Waltham! read more

Best service ever. Lost old skeleton key. They made a new one and kept me informed as to progress. Highly recommend

A+ for these folks. We had intially got someone from a locksmith advertising on line. They came and were awful - made the situation worse and kept trying to upsell me. Got rid of them - they tried to bribe me not to do an honest review - but then I found Sherman's and the guy immediately knew what had to be done and did it for a VERY reasonable price. My advice - stay away from the fakers and go with Shermans. Even if you have to wait a day or two it's more than worth it. read more

Excellent. I picked them based on a recommendation and all the good Yelp reviews. They were able to fix a doorknob/lock that I was expecting to have to replace saving a lot of money. They showed up on time and the person was fast, professional and knowledgeable. Will use them for all lock related work going forward. read more

Mike came by within an hour. He's a wonderful locksmith and knew exactly what the problem was and was able to fix it within half an hour. They were very reasonably priced and I'm so happy I called them. read more

why use any other locksmith? Jeff and his staff are fantastic. Sherman's is what a lock & safe business was always like and is still today in 2024. I was referred to them by a competitor of Sherman's. Over the phone I told Jeff what I wanted. He promised to call back within 48 hours, her ordered the item, did not ask me for my credit card, he called within 48 hours as promised and the cost was very reasonable. Need I say more? Jeff is what we call a mensch. Look it up! I don't live in Waltham but I will travel there and refer everyone to Sherman's read more

I have been going to Sherman's for years. It's a local institution. They are really helpful and nice.

We just bought a house and they were able to rekey multiple locks and help install a lock keypad we were having trouble with for a very reasonable rate. Would definitely use them again! read more

When you live in an old house having a locksmith is essential. Sherman Lock and Safe is excellent. Recently the spindle in our front entrance door hardware broke. It is not possible to order parts for hardware that is more than 100 years old. Jeff was able to find a spindle and to reattach the door knobs, not an easy task. It works perfectly. I will always return to Jeff at Sherman Lock and Safe when I need a locksmith. read more

Super friendly staff! I was asked by three different people if I was being helped yet. They really care. They copied a key for me in less than 2 minutes! I was turned away from two other places prior to visiting Sherman's. I'll never go to another locksmith again! read more

Great service and reasonable prices. Had made a plan to have the lock with the same key but did not go as planned. Jeff was quick to remedy the situation at no additional cost and he was professional and courteous! read more

We were referred to this great place by Ace Hardware on Watertown Street in Newton (another great shop) when Ace couldn't make the key that we wanted to make... the guy who helped us at Sherman Lock & Safe was so nice and expert (and patient w/my 7 year old who was fascinated by everything in there :) Who wouldn't be?? Definitely saving Sherman Lock & Safe in my phone in case we have any lock needs (they travel too!). read more

Easy experience. Need apartment key copied. Will def use again. Great to find a brick and mortar key and lock store.

Al reworked and repaired some old locks as well as replacing some with new hardware in our old house. He did a great job and was easy to deal with. Al spent a lot of time figuring out the best way to problem solve with some old hardware. He definitely knows what he's doing and was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Sherman Lock. read more

Great service at a fair price. Provided a clear and accurate quote over the phone. Showed up on time, drilled and installed a new front door deadbolt in about an hour. Friendly service and cleaned up nicely after themselves. read more

Excellent service. Responsive. On call 24 hours a day. Honest. I trust them with my life as well as my property.

Love going here. Family run business, everyone I've dealt with has always been friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. I have older locks on my house and most other places weren't able to make copies of the older style key but Sherman Lock & Safe did it in minutes. read more

Guess the do not have to many of these but.. I called with an issue with out store front door locking itself when it closes. We made an appointment for days later for them to come out and fix the lock. They told me someone would be there between the hours of 3pm-5pm. When 5PM came and went and no one arrived I called to ask if someone was still coming (5:15 PM). I got their VM stating they are closed (Close 5PM). We had to have someone else fix the lock ;/. read more

They know what they are doing. I have had standard house keys cut that worked the first time. I have had a 2004 Lexus key cut that no one else (other than Lexus) were willing or able to do. They even said that I could save some money buying the key that they sold me (for a reasonable price) on Amazon the next time I needed a spare. The service was always friendly and efficient. read more

You can't go wrong with this local, family run business. I called them up because I needed my locks changed and was easily able to schedule an appt for the next day. The woman that answered the phone was pleasant and cheerful as she took my information. The next day, I received a call letting me the locksmith was on his way. He changed out all 3 locks and made me five new keys in about 20 minutes. All the keys worked in all the locks unlike some of my other keys made at other places (I'm looking at you Ace Hardware). The prices seemed very reasonable to me and it was a snap to pay with a credit card. Love them. Hopefully, I won't have to call them back because I locked myself out taking out the garbage. read more

I had some random keys that the my local ace hardware store couldn't duplicate. Sherman took care of them while I waited for a very reasonable price. You can't beat a local, fast, fairly priced business. read more

Sherman Lock & Safe - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Waltham, Massachusetts

True to form: this place is incredibly cheap and very friendly. They have some ancient old safes in the store as well as knobs, doorhandles, and other metal hardware, too. They try not to run credit cards for purchases under $10, and I copied a key for $2,25, so try to bring cash if you have it. read more

I recently bought a motorcycle with which I received only one key. I went to Home Depot to make copies, and they informed me that they don't make copies of motorcycle keys because the cartridge won't fit into their key cutting machine. I wasn't exactly sure what that meant, but one of the workers recommended Sherman's. So, I went to Sherman's and was surprised how quickly and cheap they made copies. Two keys in under 10 min for $8.50. He also helped to grind away a slight protrusion and took the time to show and explain to me the reason behind the grinding. Very friendly staff. I was extremely satisfied and would highly recommend. read more

I've used Sherman Lock for duplicating keys for a few years, they have always been great. I went there today and they were fast, courteous, and inexpensive. I was trying to remove my keys from the ring and they offered to just duplicate the ones I pointed out, still on the ring; and they were pleasant when all I had was a $20 bill for a charge of a few bucks. read more

Sherman Lock installed two very different types of locks: an electronic Schlage keypad on my front door and an 1800's antique-style lock on the 1/2" door to the basement. Since the house was built in 1800, some extra effort, creativity and custom installation was required and Sherman Lock came thru with flying colors and did not charge any extra for the work. read more

So I have one of those File sized Sentry water/fire proof safes... Literally the big clunker that doesn't fit anywhere but in the back of your closet. It has a spring loaded handle to open it. Some how this slipped off its track. Of course this is where I keep all the documents I need to travel. So in a pinch I called Sherman and they said bring it down for a peek. This guy was the best. Broke out his flashlight and his lock pick... Popped it open and didn't charge me a dime. A little good will goes a long way. Im a customer with this guy for life. You don't find people that will waste 5 mins on your little problem for free anymore. God bless him. Go to this place for sure! read more

They're professional, fast, courteous, reliable and won't overcharge you. If there were more companies like this one the world would be a better place! read more

Instant solution to my simple problem and need, and an excellent consultation on a more substantial and challenging lock situation.

Recommended by my real estate (buyer's) agent to rekey my house. Arrived right on time. Did the work promptly and efficiently at the price quoted over the phone and did a few freebies (adjusting and filing strike plates). Would definitely use again. read more

The guys at Sherman lock are helpful and funny, with reasonable prices. And of course trustworthy. Highly recommended.

Quick service. Friendly staff. No one was waiting when I walked in. My 3 keys were quickly made & I was back in my car in under 5 minutes.

Have been here to make keys every now and then. Always friendly and reasonable. Today I thought I needed more copies. They were so nice helping me go through baggies of miscellaneous keys to finally figure out I had two complete sets. There was nothing in it for them. Thank you for helping and yes this is the only place I'll go to from now on. PS. Home Depot was out of the blanks I needed and wouldn't take my key off the ring to copy it but these guys were happy to read more

Needed 5 locked re-keyed in a pinch after closing on our condo. They were able to get all 5 done in an hour and price was very reasonable.
