This is the second time I've worked with Gerry to replace old locks on an old home. As always, he was prompt, professional, and very thorough. Would definitely hire again! read more

Gerry is fantastic. He quickly diagnosed a rather complicated problem with my door lock and fixed it masterfully. The lock has never worked better! He is also very pleasant to work with. He arrived punctually and worked efficiently. He is now our go-to locksmith! read more

Was dealing with an old mortise lock on a front door that was giving us major issues (old owners have random pieces of tissue paper stuffed inside to make it "function"). Gerald came and fixed it up incredibly quick for a really fair price. Very friendly + knowledgeable, and would recommend to anyone. read more

Very fast and reliable! Called and he was able to come within 15 minutes, only took about a half hour to change the locks, also amazing prices! Gerry was overall 10/10 on service and quality :) read more

I have used Sir-Locksalot to rekey my home after moving in. The job was done on-time and in a very courteous and respectful manner. After that I had an issue with the front door and called in. Gerry had me text pictures to him and quickly taught me how it was an easy fix that did not require repair or spending money. Quality service. Full of integrity! Don't go anywhere else for your lock servicing! read more

Upfront pricing, was available next day, honest and even gave some advice on other things.

Go to Jerry before falling for those other service call scams!! We got locked out of our home today and we called a few companies to ask for quotes and how long it would take for them to arrive. We had a bad experience with the the first technician that came who wanted to charge us 220 to open the front door and unit door, he also wanted to drill the lock. We paid the service fee and called Jerry whom we spoke to on the phone earlier. Jerry was very honest on the phone and warned us about other "locksmiths" who would just drill your lock for exorbitant prices. He came within 25 minutes to our place in Malden and opened the two doors with ease, no drilling required. His prices are really reasonable and he is a real locksmith. read more

Extremely quick response and Gerry was ever so helpful when I locked myself out of my house. I will definitely be calling him again. Marianne S. read more

We had Gerard come to rekey our locks on our house we just bought and he even fixed a knob we had damaged trying to rekey it ourselves. He was quick and efficient and extremely kind! Definitely will recommend him to family and friends and use him again in the future! read more

Call Gerry for anything and everything related to doors and locks! He's a savior! A "handy"man broke our front door deadbolt lock, leaving it unusable for two days. Over July 4 weekend Gerry was kind enough to respond to my frantic call and come as soon as possible to fix our door disaster. He's knowledgeable, prepared, confident for a reason and responsive. I can't recommend him enough! read more

I couldn't have been more impressed with not only the work, but how professional Jerry was. He was extremely honest and up front with us. I told him about the bad experience i had with another company, he never once uttered a bad word about them, was just very professional and helped us with exactly what we asked for. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great locksmith and if i ever need services again, hes who i will be calling! read more

I wanted to have my back door locks rekeyed to match the front, and a quick Yelp search revealed that Sir Locks-A-Lot has a near-flawless rating, so I decided to give them a shot. Gerry and Dave showed up right in the middle of the promised window, and replaced the back lock in about half an hour. I wound up paying more than I had expected, because it turned out that the existing back locks weren't compatible for keying with the front and so had to be replaced with compatible ones. But the convenience was worth the extra cost (the old back locks were inoperable from the outside and had been driving me bonkers), and I appreciated the speed with which they took care of business. Also they seem like a high-integrity operation; Gerry pointed out the arguments in favor of replacing my front door lock as well but candidly advised me that I would be best off just giving it a few more years until it is more acutely in need of work; he did not try to pressure me into replacing it right now as well. Very happy with the work overall. And very excited that my back locks are now functional on my existing key. Thanks-A-Lot! read more

These guys helped my mom when she locked herself out of the house, and also helped me re-key the locks to my new house and create a master with copies. They are fast, friendly, and competitive price-wise. Go here first for her any locksmithing needs - the 5 stars don't lie. read more

I had a lock that was sticking (key wouldn't fit into the lock consistently). Gerry came by, took a quick look, sprayed on some WD40, and the problem was fixed. No charge at all. Really appreciate his honesty and integrity. It's worth nothing that he was recommended to me by Commonwealth Lock Company who I first called for help. read more

Easy to schedule, good communication, good price. Got the job done quickly and professionally! You can't beat them!

Who knew finding a locksmith could be so difficult?? I had called around to find a company that would re-key the locks in our new house and ended up speaking to a fake company that (luckily) ended up blowing me off. BEWARE OF LOCKSMITH SCAMS!!! apparently there are a lot of fake companies out there trying to get money out of people and the one I spoke to was Middlesex Lock and Key. They do not exist, be careful! I ended up stopping in to the True Value in Wilmington looking for guidance and the owner recommended Sir Locks a Lot. I spoke to Gerry over the phone and he was very nice and told me exactly what he could do and how much it would cost. He even told me exactly what to get at Home Depot to save myself some money. When he came out to my house he came with his son and both immediately got to work. They replaced 2 sets of locks and re-keyed a 3rd for under $100 and it look less than an hour. He has over 20 years experience and was very friendly and professional. You very rarely see a business on Yelp with all 5 star reviews and this one truly deserves every one! read more

Just used Gerry for the second time and he was quick and helpful as always! The key to my bike lock wasn't working and he came out and cut it off, and also told me I could return the lock for a full refund and whole new lock! Would definitely recommend him and will definitely call him again if I'm ever in need, thank you Gerry! read more

I don't often write reviews but Gerry's service definitely warrants a mention. He accommodated our request on short notice, was courteous, efficient, and suggested an option that saved us hundreds. Don't think twice, if you need a locksmith use SIR Locksalot. read more

I just scheduled Gerry to install an electronic keypad deadbolt that I read about in Consumer Reports. He was familiar with it and said he'd installed many of them & was a fan. He gave me some advice on model and quoted a fixed price and specific time & date for the work to get done. Will update this once the lock is installed, but so far I'm impressed. read more

What can I write that hasn't been written already? Gerry is a very honest and knowledgeable professional. He discussed the ins and outs of some of the deadbolt/lock options I was mulling over, but I never felt like I was being pressured into anything. When day of service arrived, he was very communicative on when he'd arrive so you can rest assured that if you have an apt. at 1, he'll be there--and if doesn't think he can make it on time (even if he'll be 10 minutes late), he'll call you to let you know. Aside from installing new deadbolts and changing locks, he was also able to provide us with some history of the doors / frames based on appearance and repaired portions. Great all around professional and we wouldn't hesitate to call him again read more

Sir Locks A Lot is as good as it gets. These guys are honest, fast, and do quality work. I lost my car key while shoveling through Blizzard Juno and they quickly came to my rescue and made new keys for my car (when I had none). They saved my life! On top of that they are solid, down to earth people -- the kind of folks we need more of in this world. Thank you for restoring my faith in humanity, Sir Locks A Lot!! read more

I had lost my garage door key, and then ruined the lock trying to get it open myself, so I needed to have the look drilled out and replaced the day after Thanksgiving. The service was as good as I was expecting from the other Yelp reviews. Gerry came right when he said he would (within an hour of when I called), was able to get the job done quickly, and the price was very reasonable. He was very friendly and professional, and I would definitely call him again. read more

Fantastic service! Jerry and his son were right on time, courteous and professional. They replaced what was broken and fixed (yes fixed!) what did not need to be replaced. I was also amazed by their rate. (less than $150 for a total of 3 locks: 1 installed, 1 fixed, and the frame of a door repaired so that a third lock works better). The best service I got in a very long time... I highly recommend Sir Locksalot. read more

Great service! Gerry was very responsive, prompt, and fixed my front door lock quickly. Will definitely use again.

I can't speak highly enough about these guys: Did an amazing job with the locks, told us exactly what to buy, and did some extra fixes to the door jam at barely any cost. I highly recommend these guys and will be keeping them on speed dial for any future lock issues. read more

Excellent service on a SUNDAY! Christian at Sir locks a lot came to my rescue when my car keys were swiped the previous night and I was left unable to open or drive my car. Courteous service all morning, updating me on the process and delivering my new car key to where my was parked. I appreciated the professional, upbeat attitude during what was, admittedly, a frustrating situation. I encountered Sir Locksalot as they are a contracted locksmith of AAA of Southern New England. I'm very grateful for the swift and stellar service. read more

My family used "Sir Locksalot" to put a new lock in our door when the old one broke. He was easy to communicate with, came to the house the next day and did the job in an hour. He was great! I'd recommend him! read more

This father and son team are the NICEST guys around, and they totally know what they're doing. We use them a lot, and on two different occasions when we called them out for small jobs, they didn't charge us. They're always suggesting alternatives that would cost us less money and would, essentially, give away business. It's amazing to see guys who love what they do and who always do the right thing. Couldn't recommend them highly enough. read more

Asked them to install our house keys when we moved after reading their Yelp reviews; They sure live up to it! They helped us choosing the right lock (and they were not pushy about it, too!) and even cared for our sleeping baby by warning us when they needed to drill. Will definitely call them back if I encounter lock issues in the future. read more

I got Gerry's name and number because I called Commonwealth Lock (who are amazing and awesome). Since Comm Lock didn't do house calls (pun intended), they gave me a few names - Gerry was the first one I tried, and ended up with and boy am I ever glad. Needed to rekey a house lock, and he was prompt. Mentioned that there was an issue with Nest Lock and he fixed that, too. He's super courteous and prompt - things that make life go a lot easier when you have to deal with hiccups like this. But I also get the sense that this is JUST how he is - just read all the other reviews. He's consistent, and does great work consistently. You want a guy like this as your first call. My experience was doing a google search first, in hopes that finding someone close is more helpful... it wasn't. One guy gave me an astronomical quote, another place didn't know what they were talking about and I was glad to have landed on Comm Lock in my search. Gerry was the icing on the cake - thank you again!!! read more

I am less than 24 hours into puppy ownership of an adorable 12-week-old puppy, and I locked myself out of the house (frazzled new mom!) and couldn't get in to let him out at lunch today. I called Gerry in a panic and within minutes he was at the house and had found a way for me to get in -- and spent some time rubbing the puppy's tummy too! I couldn't have asked for a better just-in-the-nick-of-time service. read more

Thanks so much to Gerard who helped me with a defective combination lock. He was very friendly, professional and prompt. I hope I don't need to use a locksmith again but if I do, I'll know who to call! read more

Gerry was of excellent help to us in providing advice and installing new locks for our newly bought home. He advised that our current locks were not of the highest quality and recommended that we go to Home Depot to buy our own locks as to save some money. He was not even going to charge us for the consultation. Then when we had trouble installing some of them ourselves, he came back (on his day off!) to help us. He's a great guy, providing great service! read more

I had a few locks re-keyed on my house and these guys were excellent. They did the work in less than a half hour, charged a reasonable price and even gave me advice about getting new locks if/when I decide to do so. Great work. read more

Less than 1.5 years ago Gerry replaced 5 deadbolts at my house. My impressions were: 1. He seems like a nice guy and 2. It was surprisingly expensive (~$650 for ~ 3 hours work, including the cost of the deadbolts). The quality of the work seemed okay, though our front door deadbolt has been tight/difficult to insert from that day. A few days ago one of the deadbolts failed - it was the only lock that Gerry had to rekey himself, so that 2 different keys could turn it. Suddenly one key no longer worked. I tried emailing Gerry for help/suggestions but received no reply. So, I don't want to trash Gerry's business, but I do want to leave an honest review for others: I found the cost higher than expected and the quality of workmanship lower than expected. I will likely try a different locksmith next time. read more

I lost the only keys to my rental car while visiting family in Massachusetts. I called AAA and SIR Locksalot made the service call. The young man named Chris was very professional and polite. I was upset about losing the keys but his professional demeanor really put my mind at ease. He made a new key and had me on my way within 30 minutes. A truly great locksmith service. read more

Cannot speak highly enough of Gerard. My son locked himself in a friend's bathroom (old lock they didn't use jammed) and he showed up quickly, talked to my son calmly, and got him out and the lock fixed. Another time my Dad locked his car keys in his trunk with my luggage- 20 minutes before I was supposed to be at the airport for an international trip. Sir Locksalot to the rescue! It was fixed and we made out flight. He knows his stuff and you can't ask for a nicer guy. read more

Locked my keys in the car. Quick and easy and reasonable on the price. Would definitely recommend if your in a bind.

Gerry, the owner, at SIR Locksalot is great. I help to self manage a condo building in Somerville and we have used him several times for building items and a number of residents have used him. He is honest and talented, polite, sincere, and well priced. I DO NOT feel like I need to take a shower after an encounter with this company. (You know...the slimy contractors or vendors we all encounter in life.) Oh, I forgot to mention....they show up, and they show up on time. Love that. read more

Believe the reviews - these guys are the real deal. Smart, funny, caring and...oh yeah...they do awesome work! They come when they say they will, determine the most reasonable option to solve a problem and actually make everything better than it was before anything was broken. They are just nice people that are incredibly skilled at their craft. Just wow!! read more
