Michael Crawley was wonderful! He responded quickly, was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. He fixed the problem with my lock efficiently and was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him! read more

I hardly write reviews these days. The last thing you need/want when looking for a locksmith is someone taking advantage of you when you need a locksmith. Mike is the exact opposite. When I needed some help, two people well integrated in the community recommended Mike instantly. He really is amazing. Good, nice guy. Old school values and manners. Explains what he's doing, teaches you to do the work yourself, and ton of good, solid advice on the what he does. Fixed two locks for me for 1/3 of what I was expecting for 1. Been doing this a long time. read more

I reported a problem with a basement door lock on Saturday morning. He asked if it was urgent, as they charge more for weekends. I said no, it could wait. He told me that he already had 7 clients for the weekend and a bunch on Monday. He came early on Tuesday and it was done in 5 minutes. He replaced the old handle with a brand new one, and then cut another key. He is the nicest guy. I highly recommend! read more

Always available to help, give advice, be kind plus he works quickly to provide confidence in his work and products. I've used him for years, he is known in my condo complex and recommended by everyone. Thanks, Mike, for your excellent work; you are the best. read more

10/10 couldn't ask for better service. Problem was resolved the same day I called! Super friendly and professional

Gets it done and communicates well about arrival time. Explains and demonstrates what is broken in a lock, very helpful. Highly recommended.

Good people Good stuff Attentive company who wants to help. I will use them again at work for sure. read more

There is no better locksmith than Mike Crowley of Carlmont Lock. He is incredibly responsive and skilled and the nicest guy in the world. He is a longtime part of the Cambridge community and seems to know everyone. He is a quick worker and his pricing is very fair. Carlmont is Cambridge's go-to for good reason! read more

Mike was great. Fixed problems in one hour that other locksmiths could not. Mike was also out to our property the same day we called him.

Michael was just LOVELY! He asked for pictures and texted with me about what kinds of locks we had and wanted beforehand and the day he came, he had everything ready within an hour! Plus, he's a hoot! Super funny, nice, and was so conscientious of the fact that we had a newborn at home. Honestly, he made everything so easy and definitely helped us make sure that we had enough keys and everything all lined up, and all locks were in much better condition than he found them in by the time he left. Really nice guy, and totally went above and beyond. Thank you! read more

Best locksmith. He comes to the house and fixes your locks. And makes keys. He changed all the tumblers so that we just need one key now.

Our building has used Carlmont for years. Mike responds quickly and actually arrives on time. I highly recommend him.

Outstanding work and customer service! I had a couple of basic door knobs and deadbolts installed by a contractor while doing a renovation, and wanted to install new hardware after the rest of the work was completed. I thought it would a simple thing for me to do myself (I am reasonably handy!) but it was not a simple drop-in replacement; nothing lined up quite right. Mike was super accommodating even though I had done things halfway and he needed to pick up the pieces. He explained what he was doing and made sure at every step that I was happy with the result. read more

Lost my mail key. Called Carlmont lock for help. Michael had come and replaced everything with a new set of keys within just a couple hours or less. Super easy process. I will definitely call again if I ever have an emergency requiring a locksmith read more

Mike is the best. We used Carlmont years ago, and he was super responsive, and cleaned up meticulously afterwards. Needed his services again in spring 2020, and he was super helpful and did the job quickly. He's a great communicator, and a great locksmith. read more

Mike is great! I called on a Thursday afternoon and talked with Mike. I sent him some pics of the locks and he quoted me right away and was able to change the locks by early the next morning. He gave me a time window and I mentioned I had to be at a meeting the latter half of that window so he said he would come at the beginning and he was there on time at the beginning, ready to roll. About 30 minutes later I had new locks for a great price. He takes cash or credit, but I would recommend making sure you have cash. read more

Mike is so good that I once tried to convince him I owed him more. It didn't work. When we bought our house, there were three different keys to three outside doors, and we didn't even have one of them. If you needed to get in through the garage, it just wasn't your day. Mike fixed all of that. He fiddled with our 100-year door so it's easier to open. He showed me how to get a key for the original lock on our bedroom door - I went to Commonwealth Lock in Porter Square for the key, but it all worked because Mike took it apart, swapped the lock for one from a different door, fixed it, disabled the one for my kid's room, and told me about Commonwealth. All our key problems are solved, and Mike is pure gold. read more

Amazing service!! Called back quickly and came by even quicker. I would highly recommend without a doubt!

My husband managed to fix our lock so we didn't end up using Mike, but wanted to review his customer service. He was the only locksmith who returned my call and gave an estimated time to promptly arrive at our home. Will definitely use him for any future lock needs. read more

Mike (owner of Carlmont Lock) was 100% awesome! Great service. Fast. Responsive. Reasonably priced and just a great person. Fixed two of our locks quickly. These have been getting worse and worse over the years and are now smooth as butter. I can't recommend Mike and Carlmont Lock highly enough. read more

I had an exceptionally positive experience with Carlmont Locksmith. I had U-locked by bike to a metal fence and lost the key. Most locksmiths I called wouldn't even break such locks, but Mike responded quickly to my message while on vacation. He came by at 7:15 am, before I had to leave for work (at his suggestion! So nice to come so early!) He was friendly, professional and quick to cut my lock. At the end of it all, he charged me $30 less than I was quoted by other companies. I was back on the road in no time. So grateful to Mike! read more

Mike is a locksmith, a teacher, and an entertainer. He came right away when my family and I needed him, and he taught us about ways to make sure we didn't get locked out of a specific room again. He also had funny stories. And the price is right - $60. High recommend, and a big thanks to Mike. read more

Mike is the best locksmith I've ever dealt with! He fixed a weird old lock of ours that a previous locksmith didn't get quite right and his prices were much more reasonable. He's also super friendly and responds quickly. read more

Not much a can say beyond the fact that Mike, from Carlmont Lock, is a man of his word and a man of skill. He came by this morning having called him earlier. He promised that he had a prior job but would be by my place just as soon as he could. He quickly fixed my locks and in the process saved me from the more expensive option. A nice, friendly guy who knows what he is doing, is quite competent, reasonably priced, and now going to be the locksmith I recommend to all in my condo complex. read more

Can a locksmith brighten your day? Mike came by first thing this morning, quickly fixed my locks and reduced the number of keys I needed. As an added bonus, he has a great touch with kids. He engaged my 3 and 5 year old and got my daughter busy fixing the lock with him. He's super competent, fairly priced, and now my go-to guy for anything lock related. read more

I was super impressed by Carlmont's speed and quality. Will absolutely use them again!!

They have helped us in two different homes with several lock issues. They are fast and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough great things about Mike. My bike lock jammed while my bike was locked up at Alewife. T police said call a locksmith. I called around and got one locksmith (not Mike from Carlmont Lock), who said he could be there in about 4 hours, and would need an accessible electrical outlet near my bike, and that there was a house call fee and the cost of cutting the lock. Mike said he could be there in 20 mins and only charged to cut the lock. He also said he needed proof the bike was mine (picture sufficed). Glad he did that, as I makes me feel better that not just anyone can ask to have a lock cut. Mike was courteous, professional and came with his own source of power. He was very careful around my bike and respectful of the other bikes at very busy time. Would definitely call him again!!! Thanks read more

Mike is the absolute best. Have used him twice for locks in my home and he has always been prompt, affordable and does excellent work. And he has a big friendly personality to boot! Great communication about scheduling. I highly recommend with zero hesitation and will absolutely continue to use his service. Give him a call! Thanks Mike! read more

Great experience working with Mike! I am selling a condo with older locks on my unit. I wanted to get mine working well to show and sell the unit. Mike explained clearly what to appreciate about my existing lock, how it worked and how to maintain it, as well as options to replace it. Clearly he could have offered more expensive options but gave me a recommendation and service that got it back in good working order. It now opens quickly and easily and I understand how to maintain it. I called just before noon and he was able to meet me a few hours later. I already recommended him to a friend - great guy, great service, loves his work!! I highly recommend Mike! read more

Mike is amazing and very trustworthy. I had read reviews that how he takes his time and shows people how the system works and does a little teach on the side, all true. His prices are really reasonable as well. I would 100% recommend him. Background: I had to re-lock because last week I locked myself out and I called "24/7 Locksmith connections" (from google ad) and that was a HUGE mistake and the guy they sent over was a scam artist. So don't call any locksmith from google ads. Do your research on yelp, and read reviews carefully. What they tell you over the phone is not what they charge you and in addition you will have to re-do the work. One sign, if they show up with their personal car, reject them. read more

Great local business. Timely, polite, efficient. Fair price for the service. Dead bolt failed on a front door. Coulda gone the Home Depot route--three trips and four hours of aggro--and saved maybe $20 by the time I found the right lock and pieces. Instead I got Carlmont on the phone. They came on time, took a quick look, removed the failed part, and replaced it in less than 10 minutes. Fixed it with an on-truck internal replacement part, so no need to re-key the lock. Again, saving aggro and money there. Thanks. I'd call back in a heartbeat. read more

Great service! I know who to go to call now! I came home with my son to find that our house was burglarized. Although the break-in was through a window, the police told me to have all the locks changed. Michael was quick to call back and made the trip in rush hour traffic within the hour. Amongst the chaos of making the police report and trying to get someone to fix the window on short notice, Michael handle all the locks, provided some good safety recommendations and before he left, even helped me fix the window! read more

Based on the reviews and 24-hour service I saw here, I called Carlmont. True to the previous posts, Mike was responsive, friendly and went above and beyond. Highly recommend. read more

Mike was so awesome. I would whole-heartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a locksmith. I called to see about getting my house rekeyed and Mike came out the same day. He did a fantastic job: he rekeyed the locks and also made recommendations to make it less expensive and easier for me. During the whole process he was really friendly, funny, and warm-hearted. He was such a great guy, I can't say enough how wonderful he was to work with. read more

I'm almost never moved to write a Yelp Review, but Mike's service and personality impressed me so much, I had to do it. I could tell quickly within meeting Mike that he values his clients and that this will be a relationship, not just a re-keying of new locks. I purchased a home in Somerville, MA and needed my locks changed. Mike was knowledgable and professional on the phone, let me know what info he needed in order to give an accurate estimate, and kept the price there. He loves his job and likes people; the type of guy you'd want at your back. read more
