Brian did a great job fixing our door latch, which was stuck in a locked position. He responded on the phone right away, arranged to come in that same morning, fixed the problem quickly and thoughtfully, including providing judgment about future changes to the door. The charge was very reasonable. Great job/experience. Highly recommended. read more

Great experience! Very professional, courteous, easy to schedule and fairly priced. I couldn't ask for more.

Service was prompt. , Brian was professional. He fixed the locks and did a great job. Highly recommended.

Amazing locksmith! Super prompt service, came within 20 minutes, was super friendly, opened my door and charged an actually fair price. Will definitely call them again when I'm locked out (let's hope that's not too soon...)! read more

Cityside Locksmith is the best service I have ever used-- helping in many situations from emergency problems when tenants were locked out at night to tricky malfunctions with door codes. Whatever happens, Brian is available and helpful and calmly solves the problem. What a relief to find someone so skilled and easy to communicate with. The word reliable was made for him. Can't praise him enough: simply the best. read more

Brian knows what he's doing, tells you what he is going to do, and does it. He's honest and does not try to take advantage of you. I will use him again in the future. read more

Brian provided excellent service and asked questions to ensure we knew all options (such as if we wanted storm doors to also be rekeyed). He showed up at the time we had arranged and completed the work quickly. Thanks! read more

Arrived same-day and talked through our options for re-keying 3 doors/4 locks. Was quick, able to pay with card, very happy with the service. read more

Perfect! Our patio door lock needed to be repaired and eventually replaced. It was an Anderson door from Home Depot that never worked great and that neither the installer nor manufacturer could make work for us 9 years ago following initial installation. It had loose components that I had MacGyvered into working for the first 9 years. This time I couldn't find any way to restore it and was so glad to find Brian at Cityside. He was pleasant and informative by phone and he was prompt and effective in person. He'd had enough experience with problem doors like ours and had a solution ready both times! He has a knack for this work. read more

Brian got us an appointment that worked for our non emergency job. He called to let us know he would be late due to an emergency call and took care of the work as promised after the delay. read more

I faced an emergency situation and called Brian, who arrived at my house in his promised time frame of 30 minutes. In addition to fixing my lock with swiftness and professionalism, he is also an easy-going person and the hour went fast with light-hearted conversations. A great locksmith to go to in times of emergency, particularly when you are cold and stressed! read more

I contacted Brian yesterday about getting my locks changed in my new house. I could tell right off the bat that he was not trying to make a dime off of me as he explained rekeying the locks instead of changing out the whole lock. I of course was hoping for the service to be done today as I had the day off. Brian was flexible to make this work! Unfortunately, the locks on my door are discontinued and they could not be serviced. Brian had two new sets in his truck that he was able to swap my existing ones out for- and were SO much better and durable! He took his time to make sure the locks aligned with closing the door, explained everything in detail, and gave suggestions. I feel safer in my house which is invaluable. His prices were very reasonable though! I would call him again in an instant and recommend his services with no reservations. read more

Super-professional guy, knows his craft, reasonable price -- definitely five-star.

I just moved into a new apartment and knew it was only a matter of time before I accidentally locked myself out. Of course, it happened on a Saturday night at around 10pm -- windows were closed and nobody else was home -- so I was truly without a way to get back in. I called four or five locksmiths in the area and got voicemail after voicemail. I was beginning to think I might have to sleep on my deck when Brian returned my call and said he could be there in fifteen minutes. He arrived quickly and had me in my apartment five minutes later! I was also really grateful that he accepts credit cards. I hope I never get locked out again, but if I do I will definitely call Brian at Cityside! read more

Needed our front and back doors (4 locks total) rekeyed with a new home purchase and read about Cityside here on Yelp. The glowing reviews are absolutely warranted! I called Brian on a Monday morning and he was able to come by the same afternoon (during a pandemic and severe storms, no less) and get the job done. Brian was prompt, professional, and was able to get the task done in less than an hour. Definitely recommended giving Cityside a call next time you need a locksmith! read more

We needed locks re-keyed on several doors and scheduled an appointment for relatively late in the afternoon for Brian to come out and take care of things for us. We wound up being available earlier than expected so we called Brian again and asked if he would be able to fit us in earlier in the afternoon, and he was able to squeeze us in a few hours before our original appointment. Brian was great, punctual (he beat me to my own house!), friendly, and worked very quickly! Extra points for bringing the lock cylinders back inside on a towel to help keep our floors clean! read more

Great service! Called on Friday and discussed the need to update to two brand new smart locks and needed to have a hole for one lock and needed to have two push locks deactivated. Price was reasonable. Contacted other companies who wanted to charge me an additional $200-$350 more. Brian arrived promptly at 10 am on Saturday and went to work. The smart lock was new to him, but he had it installed quickly and working well. After drilling the hole for the second lock and installing, he made sure that the locks worked before departing. He also vacuumed the shavings from his work. Very pleased and would recommend highly. Glad I contacted their company and received great customer service and a reasonable price. Thanks! Locks are wonderful once I figured out how to add both locks to the gateway! read more

Ever since the management of the building that I have moved to walked inside my unit with out being announced, I've wanted to change the front doors lock. I called several locksmiths from yelp, they all almost had the same answer that I could not rekey unless I changed the entire lock. Cityside was the last person whom I spoke with. He made some recommendations, but living among so many people in a condominium I was not sure if I wanted to go that rout! Instead I decided to change the entire door knobs to the two bedrooms. I called Brian back who very promptly came at our agreed time. He was both very efficient and knowledgable in his job. The doors would not aline correctly, but he fixed that. In about one hour I had two bedroom doors with locks! His fees were very reasonable. I had similar work done in Manhattan NY with costing me five times more then I paid Cityside locksmith. The added bonus here was that Brian is a very nice guy, very pleasant and not a creep like the guys from New York. I would definitely use this company and refer their services in the future. read more

When got a new patio slider door, I called Brian@Cityside to have him rekey the lock. Not only did Brian rekey the slider, but he spent extra time to make sure the key and lock were working properly. Even though it's a brand new door, the locking mechanism was bit of struggle. Brian managed to fix the lock and it works better than ever. Smooth like butter. Much appreciated! Highly recommend!! read more

My appointment was at 1 PM. Brian rang the bell right on time. He solved what I consider to be a few difficult issues. My (very elderly) aunt loves her front door knob and its decorative faceplate. Brian was able to save it for her which made her day. She was resigned to having a modern lock, but was thrilled that Brian was able to quickly bring her 1900 lock back to life. Quick, clean and creative. 10 stars if I could. read more

Brian was great. He was super responsive, came over same day to install a lock and did a great job. He made fixes to the door and handle to make it all work smoothly. Highly recommend. read more

Brian responded quickly to my message and was able to come the next day during my convenient time window to fix a malfunction outdoor lock. It was a complicated job due to bent internals and the need to realign the spot on the frame where the bolt enters, so wasn't fast or cheap but Brian got 'er done nicely. And nice and easy paying via Square. read more

Brian did a great job rekeying two interior locks. He responded quickly to my voice mail, scheduled for a near-term day, came right on time, did a careful job, and charged a very reasonable price. He is personable and professional. Very pleased with the service. read more

Absolutely phenomenal service. I had a botched installation from Amazon Home Services for a lock I bought on Amazon. He came out half an hour after I called, told me everything the Amazon guy had screwed up and fixed the installation perfectly (including adding a few extra backplates for added security). Truly outstanding, prompt and professional service. Would highly recommend for any needs! read more

I lost all my keys and needed a replacement key for my 2004 Jetta. It wasn't really an emergency, and my local locksmith's couldn't get to the job for a while, so reached outside my immediate area for quotes. A 2006 Jetta would be quoted much differently than a 2004, and Brian knew the difference. He was able to provide an accurate quote in a very timely manner and showed a level of knowledge not demonstrated by some of his competitors. read more

Brian was very quick to respond, shown up with in 3 hours. don't need to pay ahead of time, which some other company had requested.

Our dog sitting gig did NOT start out well. We couldn't pick up Goya, the English Bulldog, from her apartment because the battery on the pushbutton lock to the front door was dead and we had no other key. As other Yelpers have said, Brian made the experience as painless as possible. He had to drill out the entire lock, but he had another, better quality model with him in the truck which he installed in its place. Brian saved our day and saved Goya from three hungry days of peeing and pooping in the house! read more

I called at 8:15 am to have four locks re-keyed and Brian was here at 9:00 -- done by 9:45. Very efficient and friendly service at a very fair price. read more

I gave Cityside Locksmith a call for an investment property in Malden. A tenant let me know their back door was no longer latching correctly. Cityside came out promptly, fixed the issue, and actually found and fixed a different issue while at the same call after both speaking to the tenant and contacting me. Their pricing was reasonable, they were highly responsive, and I will definitely use Cityside Locksmith for my future lock needs. read more

Brian arrived on time, was a pleasure to deal with, and fixed my locks for less than the estimate. He gave me an honest assessment that the problem could be fixed without replacing the lock, as I had originally asked him to do. He fixed my backdoor, and my front door (which I had not previously asked for when I called). I couldn't ask for more, and highly recommend Cityside. read more

Brian is super professional and helpful, he was able to help our tenant to repaired their lock right away, which saved us a lot of money. We had another locksmith came in last week, who thought the lock can only be replaced but not repaired and quoted us a 1300 bill. We are so happy that we found Brian and Cityside Locksmith on yelp. read more

Brian was very responsive in discussing options for upgrading a common doorknob to our condo building and having another door keyed alike. I also am very happy to have a local Somerville locksmith to work with. read more
