This review is for the print/copy center. Daniel and Alexis went above and beyond for me with their customer service today. I came in with what became a rushed request since I didn't know in advance that I couldn't do the copying myself. They worked hard to finish my almost 300 page copy order as quickly as possible so that I would not have to return to the store. I am so grateful they were kind enough to rush the job for me and were very professional and helpful in the process. A+ in my book! read more

I have only used the print shop here. The are OK. The good: They got my job done quickly, and I paid less than I usually do for one of these jobs. The bad: Proof-reading of their finished product needs to be a lot better. I found about 20 pages per doc that had very strange squares in headings and figure captions. The weirdest thing is that is wasn't consistent, so it's not a version issue on my end. It happened on pages that I asked them to print landscape instead of portrait, so something strange happened in the conversion. I'm glad I gave myself a couple of days before I turn this in, because it doesn't look good in the state that I got. Hope they get the message, because they are working on another job for me as we speak, and I will look over it carefully. read more

I had a great shopping experience thanks to the friendly staff who are eager to help. I was there yesterday with my 5-month old baby. As soon as I entered I was greeted by Delia. She asked me what I'm looking for and pointed me to where I can find it. While I was looking at the items another gentleman stopped and asked if I had any questions. A few minutes passed, another staff named Edward, came over to me with our stuff animal, Bunny. I had no idea that my baby dropped it in front of the store. "I guess this belong to you?", he asked. Evidently he's been looking for which customer(s) Bunny belongs to. This means a lot to me, the Bunny is like a family to us. If we lost it, we'd grieve for days. As I checked out Delia interacted with my baby and ensured that I can carried that stuff back to my car. read more

Great office supply store. I really like going to this store because everyone is always sincere in wanting to help me. The copy place has the same people each time I go in so it's nice not to have to re-explain every copy job, every time to them. My husband is ill, so my friend was kind enough to pick up printer cartridges for me at this store which she paid for with her ATM card. Turns out, I didn't need the cartridges, so took the receipt and product to get my money back. As everyone knows, ATM swipes means that the money was taken out of my friends account on the day of purchase last week, and the refund should be the same as cash. They refused (even a Manager) to refund the money even with the receipt and unopened product. They wanted to issue a store credit card. Since my friend and I both live in Livermore, this meant a wasted trip for me and now a second unnecessary trip for my friend, to get this refund accomplished. I did let them know that they were giving us excellent reasons to never come back to their store. read more

This store SUCKS BIG TIME!!!! The Manager here is very rude!! Avoid the store if you can. I went to return a furniture item that I bought a little over a month ago and I even told him clearly the date on which I bought it.... I showed the manager the credit card I used to buy it and he said he would process it only if I had the original paper reciept. He would not even accept the electronic reciept on my mobile phone. So, I drove 5 miles home, and back, to get the paper reciept. And guess what.... the manager now says the store return policy is only 14 days!!!! He could have told that to me earlier also. I asked him why he wanted me to get the paper reciept then. He said that he thought the refund was 30 days and did not know it was 14 days!!! I don't know why that mattered since I did not even open the box.... I was even willing to take a gift card for refund but that manager guy would not budge... my mom is a very traditional person and enjoyed her experience from the welcome hello walking in, and someone coming up to us asking if we needed help finding a printer. that's the only thing we went there for and ended up not buying it because the man working with us was hella honest and said they only make printers to only last like 2 years. she goes we live in a disposable world.. lol she's not that wrong but i guess the printer can wait. everyone was very nice though and the store was clean and everyone was helpful. she said only 4 stars cus we didn't buy the printer. i said that was our deal not staples' deal but 4 is still good. would recommend read more

I wish I could give it a 0 star. I have been shopping at this staples store for years. It had been good until recently. The new store manager is a total a-hole. His name is Bryan. He is rude and unprofessional and probably a pervert too because he is all sweet and smiling towards female customers while rude and impatient towards guys. I went to buy two gift cards tonight. After I purchased the first one, I gave him the second one. Then he yelled at me "I have a line here. You need to jump to end of the line and come back!". I was shocked. So I have been going to Staples for years, I love the one in San Leandro at Southland Mall, their service has always been excellent. The one in San Ramon I will NEVER go to again, I ordered some flyers online for same day and the email said instant delivery, I drove down there from Livermore and I was told that it would come in the next day by a sweet employee. She looked for it and clearly did not understand the process, her "manager" was taking a phone call on his cell phone outside. I went to my car to call my husband who placed the order and he told me to go back in because online it said instant. I went back in and the girl went and got her manager who did NOT come over to talk to me but I heard him tell her that he had never heard of that before and she came over and said that she wasn't sure when it would come in but maybe when UPS came it would be there. I told her thank you and left, because of the managers attitude and service there is NO WAY I will ever go back to this store, where does he get off going outside to take a private call then when he is asked a question doesn't come over to solve the problem and walks in the opposite direction. Are you kidding me? Who operates a large box store than doesn't proved enough staff to provide customer service. There was absolutly no-one on the floor. I'm talking totally deserted. There was one employee at the cash register who sauntered around the front until the was a line of three customers waiting to check out, One person at the repair desk who kept his back to the floor, so as not to engage customers, and one in the copy area who seemed bent on shuffling enough paper around so as not to engage customers too. If there was a manager in the store no one knew it. In the 20 minutes I wondered around looking for an item. I and about 6 other customers essentially had the store to ourselves. We found items by asking each other if the other saw the item being looked for. I get the issue about staffing being expensive, but I and several other left the store without the items we were looking for. I'm willing to bet that if at least one staff was on the floor to assist customers sales would be up. read more

I bought a Brother laser printer in October of 08. Since it was expensive, I also bought the extended warranty. It stopped communicating with our computers a couple of months ago. After trying different things and hoping it would heal, I called on the warranty people. After trying to help me get it going, I was referred to Incompass Services. They were supposed to send me a replacement. It has been over a month now and I am told that Incompass has the printer on back order. Staples has yet to step in and remedy the delay. Our company just ordered office furniture for two of our offices. I used the website and called the order into a sales representative who was extremely helpful. We ended up ordering the Bush Westfield furniture already assembled and I was told that it would be delivered on or about July 14. We had to send our current furniture to a new office which we opened and decided we could work off of a 2'x2' card table for one week. I received a call from Bush on July 10 letting me know there was a backorder and our furniture would ship from the East Coast on July 14 and we would have it about a week later. It is now July 23 and I have been calling both Bush and Staples trying to find out where our furniture is - Bush said it was delivered to the installers on July 17. The installers, ABS Facilities Services, just called to say they'll deliver the furniture on July 28 -- 2 weeks after the date Staples quoted us. In my opinion, Staples should have checked with Bush on availability before quoting me a delivery date; Bush should have let me know sooner about the backorder; and ABS sat on our furniture for almost a week before calling to schedule the install. I'm disappointed in all three companies. read more

Diego is the most helpful employee at the store. Every time I come in, he always answers my questions thoroughly and gives me tips on the best way to go about printing certain things. He truly has my best interest in mind and doesn't try to gip me like many others would. I will come back to him every time, and I highly recommended this Staples store. read more

I bought some replacement ink cartridges for a new printer I also bought at this location. when I opened them a few weeks later they were empty. I brought them back to the store to return them and was told that it was against their policy to take back product after that long. I have used Staples for my business account for over ten years. If i had to rate my last experience it would be 1/5...and this is due to the manager who turned out to be worse than the associate...I emailed corp so be prepared to get contacted. I came in wanting to use a LEGITIMATE coupon found on YOUR website and followed the restrictions...I KNOW this would go through as I am part of several consumer based forums which verified this combo of a deal... the website inventory showed 1/1 (we know that means demo unit), but i figured since i was in the area i give it a shot since i was coming from costco. You found that the item in question was in stock and you were carrying both models. Cool! I then go to the front to get rung up and told that the coupon does not apply. I tell them no, it does. Manager tries to explain to me its for office merchandise only. The item in question meets the requirements and SCANS. I playfully ask to see if it scans. it does...It didn't take a manager override and the system took it...i trust the system over you... the store is somewhere between 2 and 3/5 stars and it honestly all comes down to who is ringing you up. I don't know why but EVERYONE at this store except the new sheeple always think im running some SCAM...No I am not. Staples just has great deals, coupons, rebates, and rewards. I mean i honestly don't know how they stay in business, but that's not my issue :). Some of these deals and coupons are a bit harder to find (not on their website) but the emailed coupons do work and many of them are stackable. Their rebate are the EASIEST and their rewards are wonderful. i spent 200 dollars and magically have 20 in credit. GREAT! its like sears its a revolving door of money. What sucks is when you get someone who doesn't know what they are doing or is too scared to run these coupons or codes i come in with, so they have to call their manager and I have to wait. There is usually 1 or 2 people at the register. It sucks because I hold up the line and usually the manager is in a rush that he just wants to be in and out which is fine. I guess the cashier person can't override the system or maybe its an internal process, but this takes time I don't really have :/ (I have been buying more online to avoid this process and pick up in store and or deliver to the business) Sorry, but I only come in with b/m deals anymore I mean the store is decently stocked and there are some major flaws with the business ie inventory checker, but then there are issues with the store in particular ie their hold policy (i have had items given away or never put on hold ect) its a crap shoot. I have complained to corp about this before. The store is organized well and products are on display. It's clean and usually pretty fast. You are usually greeted at the door by the cash register or the techs and someone will come by asking you if you need help. It's a pretty friendly and nice store. Maybe its the area, but certain items are either not sold or have extremely low inventory or other deal hunters have gotten to the product first. I've had to make the trip out to concord staples which sucks, but sometimes items are unavailable in store and you can't order online and or get shipped to you. sometimes they have weird restrictions. I have had managers allow me to order the product online through their onsite kios and override some stuff to allow it to be an in store purchase special order. That's great ans super cool! You save me money, you make the sale, you help your store. Smart thinking! I spend a fair amount on electronics and most of my spending is at this staples location. why? well its simple they have the best deals around electronics, office supply ect. I cannot begin to describe the horror that I've dealt with for the past 5 months with the Staples store in San Ramon. In 2012 I bought a laptop for my niece as a gift for her going away to college at UC Santa Barbara. I made sure to purchase the 2 Year Extended Warranty from Staples which would cover any type of damage. The laptop started falling apart after a biking accident so we brought it back to the Staples store in December 2013. At that point Chris Wilson who is the general manager at the Staples store in San Ramon said he'd take care of everything for us. Chris told me that Assurance (warranty company) would try to fix the laptop by 4 weeks or Staples would issue us a full refund. After 4 weeks of waiting the status showed "Fixed: Shipped Out To Customer". We waited for the laptop to arrive at our house and nothing came in the mail. I contacted Assurance in January 2013 and spoke to the supervisor named John Maxwell. John informed me that it was a total mistake and that the laptop could not be fixed due to a missing part that's not available until March 2014. He informed me that he would close the ticket out and that Staples would reimburse me with a full refund. At that point Chris Wilson kept lying to me week after week that he'd get my full refund even though Staples was in a bad relationship with Assurance the warranty people. Chris told me that Staples is trying to get out of their contract with Assurance. So basically I had to suffer and wait for Staples to work out their differences with Assurance before I'd get my money back. Wow this wasn't something I was told when they encouraged me to buy the extended warranty plan which cost me $250! I couldn't believe what was happening. At that point my niece ended up buying a new laptop after waiting for 10 weeks and still no refund from Staples. This went on until March 2014 when finally the laptop showed up at our door step. I felt very insulted and tricked as Chris Wilson stalled me all along to buy Assurance time until they could fix and send me the laptop 4 months late!! At that point I went above Chris and tried to talk to the Staples director named Rich Brown who sympathized with me in our first conversation. Rich Brown told me that he'd take care of everything for me and I'd receive a call from him in a couple of days. Two weeks went by and no call or update from Rich Brown who'd promised that he'd get my money back ASAP. Unfortunately he never bothered to call me or to show that he cared one bit with this atrocious ordeal. They wouldn't give me Rich Brown's number so the only way I could communicate was to call Staples store, ask for Chris and have him text him with my message to "Please call me back". No calls and then finally one day he returns my call and says that he cannot promise to get my full refund back but only part of it. For a $750 this is how Staples deals with 1 customer. Then I finally get his number and call him only to have him say to me rudely, "how the hell did you get my number? Stop calling me or I won't help you at all!" Then he hung up on me before I could say two words. Not sure what else to do as I am extremely disappointed with how Staples treats their customers. Especially the management team for lying to me all along and not making any effort to resolve all these atrocious mishaps and ignoring us. I will never shop at Staples again, not even for a pencil or if my life depended on it! I am disgusted with this type of service and appalled with the way I've been treated for the past 4 months. I am very frustrated and sickened with how I've been treated. Never has this been a problem with Fry's electronics, Best Buy or any other store I've shopped at. I for one am tired of dealing with such an unorganized and dishonest company. I have also reached out with phone calls and emails to the office of the president at Staples and currently awaiting a response, but so far nothing. Staff at this location does not greet customers or assist if you are looking for a particular item. I was looking for a few specific items that are Staples exclusive, and not only did they not carry them (I went up every single aisle), but the cashier (who had her back to me chatting with her coworker while I stood there) suggested I was mistaken. I had the items on the website on my phone in my hand in front of her. She then proceeded to ring me up slower than molasses. After shuffling through my items she asked how I was paying even though I had just handed her a $50 bill. Did she think that was a tip? Instead of handing me my change in an organized manner she handed me a mess. She did not count back my change and I had to bank face it myself since it was such a hot mess. Since she didn't properly close the transaction I told her have a good day and good luck with the rest of her training. I'm assuming she's new since her cashier skills along with a complete lack of customer care were beyond obvious. She then smirked and said she wasn't being trained. How unfortunate for this location since this review and experience will definitely be shared with several hundred of my closest friends via the magic of social media as well as an email to the designer for the collection of Staples exclusive items. I've been coming here for several years, and have had enough experiences to give a fair assessment. I was particularly impressed with service I received regarding a very expensive Brother mfc 9840 cdw all-in-one laser. Because of its cost, I did not want to leave ghosts in any machine to chance and got the best extended warranty available at that time. This printer did have a few problems, one which required replacement. The sincerity of the staff's efforts was obvious - and they got me fixed up in-store each time, including the exchange. I might have gotten a hernia schlepping this beast from my house into my car, but once there, they assisted with that as well. I wasn't a day without a printer. To be fair, the character of a couple of employees there was already a given as I was aquainted with them through the community, which is another reason I shop there. For the printer problems I was helped by one of the managers, who I'm familiar with only through shopping there. My experience with their crew has been positive so far. I also like the all the services they've added at their Printer center, and they do good work as well. I hardly ever post reviews because so many review sites are packed with sales people writing sales brochures. Some sleazy company back east was just busted because they were hiring folks from online internationally to write glowing reviews of some places, which are embarrassingly obvious. So far, I like San Ramon's Staples, and until I have a genuine reasonable complaint that can't be resolved with civil dialog, I'll continue shopping there. Everyone likes being treated with dignity, including all store employees, and customers have the right to the same. We all usually get what's fair when dignity and common courtesy stays in control, unlike much of our current state of politics and propaganda disguised as news or talk shows. This is indeed related to my review because I value sincere human contact, professional service, and common courtesy, and that is worth a lot to me. Staples is also as competitive as any player for this stuff, so if I can show the same think elsewhere cheaper, I have no doubt they'd be willing to match anything they can. I do buy lots ofstuff online, but also try to keep my dollars local where good service and face-to-face transactions still feel good. read more

hey, i think the staples store itself is great. i've often found some very competitive prices here and the staff is usually friendly and helpful whenever i go. recently i bought a large packet of 25 pens for $5. good pens too, not the cheap plastic bic ones. however, i am only offering a 3 star rating because of the new post office addition to the store. i went there recently to mail some letters, mostly international, and the stupid cow behind the counter was completely useless. sorry staples, but you have some kind of contract with usps, and they are inside your store, so you are responsible for their impact on you. the moron lady at the usps substation tells me it will cost $13 to send a letter to japan. "that's in china, right?" she says. wow. it was not a package, or a box, but a letter i wanted to send. $13 dollars? then she tells me i can't send a cd through the mail. really? have you heard of netflix? because they send literally millions of dvd's through the mail. millions - daily. study hard missy. maybe, just maybe you'll one day earn your GED, but i doubt it... read more
