This place does the job. Its smaller than a lot of other Staple stores, but if you need some office supplies and other stuff...you can get it here. What gets me is that everything is so expensive. And I dont think are neccessarily of any sort of better quality. I think they are understaffed here and they ran out of recycle your ink bags. Although the one nice thing is you can get $3 off coupon for the next ink you buy from them everytime you recycle an old with them. And they have Staples Rewards card which means you can get more coupons in the mail if you buy more stuff. read more

I went in knowing what I wanted to buy that was going to total $25. They had a coupon for $5 off of $25. I got some lamination done and was going to get a chair mat for my brother. They didn't have it. I spoke with an associate about the issue, I wouldn't have started the lamination if I knew they didn't have the chair mat. He didn't seem helpful, I was the only one coming up with alternatives. I asked him to speak with the manager. The manager said that he would do a price match with a more expensive chair mat that they had and I would be able to use my coupon. All in all, I walked away a very happy camper, saving an additional $20 on a better mat! read more

A very inconsistent location. Sometimes, the associates are kind and courteous, but at other times, they are quite unprofessional. As part of the rewards program, I received a 30% off coupon. I read all of the conditions at the bottom, but there was no clause withholding HP ink from the sale. Smiling, I reached the counter where the associate was gossiping to the other about her failed love life. When the coupon failed to scan, she pointed out that the coupon excluded 'technology.' My reading of that term included computers and tablets, but her reading of the term included ink cartridges, a spiral notebook, and a ream of ruled paper. After a short, demeaning, conversation about the unsuccessful discount, I left, paying full price. Perhaps this is why I left this place feeling grimy and filthy. I stopped in today to pick up a few items for a presentation that I will be attending and James was first to assist me with finding me the folders needed for that. As I was getting ready to check out I also picked up a few to-do note pads...at $1.99 can't go bad! Marneli assisted me with my check out and Also signed me up for Rewards Points Program. She explained how the program works and advised me of the survey at the bottom of the receipt and how I could win a chance at $500 in Gift Cards. Then I walked across to the Print/Copy center where David assisted me in printing out something from my email directly. He made it so easy and clear and even helped me with the Entire process so as Not to mess up my work. Hello. In the current environment we're in regarding face masks, I want to share what happened to me today in this store. Since my home computer isn't working properly I went in to use Staples computer for important business. When I went to the computer rental area I was greeted my a nice employee to assist me. The credit card machine had to be reset to get started. In the meantime the employee scanned a document for me that I needed to email. I was finally able to insert my card and began working. This process took about 15 minutes and the employee never once mentioned anything about a mask which I was not wearing since I left it at home. Moments later another employee approached me and ask is I had a mask, I said no. Another moment later the sales manager (Hector) approached and told me to leave the store since I had no mask. He said that if I didn't go immediately he would call the police. His approach from the very beginning was very disrespectful and completely bullish. At this point he had put me in a defensive attitude so I told him I would be finished in two minutes. He then began to unplug the computer so I said ok, I'll sign out. I told him that his employee had helped me for 15 minutes and never mentioned a mask. I ask him for the $2.96 that I was charged for the computer time and he refused to give it to me. He then went on to tell me that it was a state law to wear a mask which it is not. I've been to several stores here in Pasadena, CA where masks were not being worn, including my doctors office just yesterday. When I made him aware of this he then lied and said he told me it was Staples rules, not state. By the way, Hector would not tell me his last name. In conclusion, this manager was very rude, dishonest and using his "authority" to bully and embarrass in front of several other customers close by. He should be fired! read more

This complaint is for the online ordering. I placed 3 orders on Jan 26 for the same item. It said the expected delivery is Feb 3 Mon. Today Jan 31 Fri I still haven't received the shipping email, so I did live chat with Staples customer service asking about my order status. She said my orders will be cancelled due to out of stock!! What? If it's out of stock and the orders needed to be cancelled they should notify me earlier so I can order it elsewhere instead!! Now 5 days later it's already too late to order it anywhere!! Always have a good experience at the Staples in Walnut at their print center but the attitude at this staples Pasadena is just terrible. The print center guy doesn't greet or acknowledge you just walks up casually and says, "yeah." That's after taking his sweet time with two other customers whom he wasn't able to help. Went to this staples to have a simple PDF off my flash drive printed. First off you have to wait for someone to come over from the print section when they see you standing there helpless. Was gretted by a lady saying I need to rent the computer to use the flash drive. This is complete false and I have given other employees the flash drive they print it out. The Copy & Print Department SUCKS!! The people working in that department (esp. the old lady) SHOULD BE FIRED. HORRIBLE customer service and does not try to go out of their way to help you. 1. My sister went there to get a couple of 11x17 posters printed. She then realized the next day that they failed to return her usb flash drive. She has been calling and visiting them to make it urgent that they find it because she had important files on there. One guy working there said they found it but the next day they said they don't have it. Called again today and another girl picked up. My sis asked about the usb and before she was able to describe what it looks like, the lady hung up! 2. I went there to get some business cards made. The guy said it will just take 2 hours for the cards to be made and they would call me. I paid them and went to run errands. After 2 hours they still haven't called back so I went there thinking "oh they probably just forgot to call". Get there and the guy is gone and the lady working there at that moment saw that they didn't even start printing the cards yet. WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME! When asking for my refund back, the lady didn't even apologize and had a rude face on while giving me my refund. If you need printing done, find a Office Depot or a local print store. Came to print birthday invitations, took me a half an hour to get nothing done, none of there machines were working. Customer service was not helpful and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience or the fact that none of there printing machines were working. Why have a printing service at all of the employees don't know what there doing and nothing seems to work. Great store mangers at this Staples. I brought my old iPhone 6 Plus for a battery replacement. The battery replacement is only $30 and they could get it done fast. Both Enrique and Ricky are the store managers and they have Great customer service. After they replace my battery, there was some issue with my screen and home button. They took their time and trouble issue and fixed the issue. My iPhone was not in the best condition and I'm surprised they were able to fix it. These store mangers don't have an easy job, they are in charge of the Tech department, managing the store and answer phone calls at the same time. I really appreciate your help! read more

It's clean in here and everything is pretty organized but the customer service could be better. The staff here kinda ignores you when they see you and they just focus on doing their own thing. I come here to get my school supplies all the time but I've never had anyone ask if I needed any help. This Staples has been in the neighborhood for quite some time. Generally, it's well-staffed and the people are friendly. The instocks are also pretty good but the pricing is not really competitive. My latest "downer" was a hanging file folder holder (plastic tough box) which at Staples was around $15. I found virtually the same one at Target for $9.99, which doesn't even specialize in office supplies. Pros: - Has private parking lot - Close to freeway access and generally in a good location - Nice staff - Has a print/copy area service Cons: - Pricing can be hit or miss - Instocks/shelf cleanliness can be sometimes pretty rough Thus, use it as an impulse buy location or place of last hope for the time being. read more

I came for envelopes, and I ended up leaving with a full shopping cart. I even came back to buy a color printer. I'd seen this particular printer online at OfficeMax, but they didn't have it in-store. I checked online and Staples had it at this location and for the same great price! As far as the staff goes, I've never had a problem with any of them. They've been friendly and helpful. I was greeted when I walked in by the girl at the register, she was super friendly. I needed more info to print a poster and the girl at the printing service, the one with the long braids, was really helpful. They have a huge parking lot so there's always plenty of parking. The only negative about this store is that they usually only have one cashier open. The store is never packed, but sometimes the cashier can be a while with a customer for whatever reason and there never seems to be a backup. Even though there's another person in the front with the 1 cashier that's open. Yes, the employee might be busy doing other stuff but it looks bad when there are customers waiting in line. They price match ink and the cashier was very quick about it when I showed her the lower price on Best Buy's website. I went into staples to print out some pictures, I called before and asked if I can print photo pictures. When I arrive there's a 15 min wait to talk to the photo center person. Once I did I asked where I could print pics and he said "any of this printers". So I went and the pictures only printed in paper form in 8x11 or 10x6 (which is not frame friendly)....ugh wasted 30 minutes of my life and 5 miles of drive and left without what I needed. Was looking for some helping cleaning up my PC, wanted to go for a tune up and didn't want to drop the $200 for best buy, and wasn't to sure about mycleanpc.com. Saw online that Staples has the EasyTech center where they do a free virus scan, and tune up for you. Talked to Kris who normally works at the Duarte Staples but was helping out because they were short staffed. I called and he picked up, super courteous, straight-forward, told me exactly what was going to happen. Then when I came in he was kind and professional. Got my comp going and gave me the time frame and what the likely diagnosis was. Major props to Kris. Great experience read more

Pathetic!!!!! Don't even attempt to call this store for information. Called three times in the past two days. Each time put on hold and completely forgotten. Why bother even answering the phone? Spent almost $700 dollars in this store last week where in-person service is usually fairly good. Ordered a $300 product which was supposed to arrive Dec. 19th. Went to the store in the late afternoon on the 19th and was told "No, it's not here maybe it will come next week." Maybe? Called Monday (12/22) and put on infinite hold so drove to store and was told AFTER 30 minutes of waiting "Yes, it's here, but we can't find it." Called today, Tues. (12/23) and put on another infinite hold, no less than 20 minutes when I finally hung up. Literally, a person answers and says they will check and then they just NEVER come back. An hour later I called again and asked to speak with the manager. Put on hold yet again. After 25 minutes I hung up to call back and when I called back I got the"store is closed" message!!! How are these people still in business!!!! Absolutely boggles the mind. Do not even think about ordering a product here. If it is in the store fine, buy it, if not do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

Staples, use to be the place to go for any type of office assistance and they use to have more engaging employees with warmth and fantastic customer service...but not anymore. It's horrible when you go into a place of business and you have to look for someone to help you. And then the person you found looks like and they wished you hadn't seen them. The employees are really nice and helpful. The only gripe I have is the bathroom was hell. Really really dirty. There was no one else in the store but me and a couple of other people. I gave this a five-star based on my most recent experience. I remember one time coming to the store and the guy telling me they did not have a product that they had, and it was because he simply did not know the store's products. That was a few years ago. Today I went to the store and a very informative employee named Odessa greeted me when I walked in, and then when I asked her for what I was looking for, she proceeded to tell me exactly which aisle it was on, which half of the aisle it was on, and which side of the aisle it was on. She went above and beyond. Her customer service was so great, that I ended up even buying an extra add-on item that was at the counter. This Staples has a lot of the usual paper and business supplies that every one of their stores carry, i only went in to use their fax machine yesterday and i didn't have a difficult time doing it on my own. I have used it on other occasions and sometimes when i did get home i would call the company later only to get aggravated finding out that my fax Never went through? I would have to drive all the way back to them and show my receipt and ask them to Fax it again! There is always a long line and to fax and for 3-papers it cost me $5.25 which i thought was pretty expensive. read more
