Awesome service from Alex Sorensen at the print shop. Had baby shower games printed and cut here. He showed me how to make the prints myself but then after hearing what I wanted to do walked me through the different options I had to get the most for my money. Color on one side and b&w on the other (since it was mostly black and white anyway). He ended up printing it for me. I wandered around the store for a while and when I came back it was done. This is probably 1 of the worst Staples store I've been to. They had an external hard drive for $10 cheaper than all the other retailers, so I checked online to make sure they had em there, it said they did. So I drove there (15 mins) walked in & had a hard time finding the hard drive section. This store is poorly labeled. So I walked thru many aisles and finally found em. They didn't have the unit I wanted out so I waited at the check out line for someone to help me. 10 mins went by and the line didn't move. So I go to the girl who was working the copy area, thinking surely she can look up the sku and let me know if they have em or not. Well she wasn't very happy that I went to ask her something that wasn't "copy" related, but she hesitantly looked it up. There were 2 left. So I go back to the cashier area and waited for someone to help me. Seconds ticking away....minutes ticking away....finally. The hard drives were stocked in a secret room and she couldnt leave the register, so she had to call a manager to go see if they had em. Turns out they just sold the last 2. OMG, these guys still have LUPE the rude lady working at the Print Shop inside Staples!! Unbelievable! She is STILL rude and argumentative, and she seems to be teaching the rest of the Print staff her unhelpful ways. Can't believe it. For Lupe and her co-workers, rudeness seems to be a way of life. IDIOTS! I had something scanned (very simple task) only to find that the image was cut off. AND when I asked for a scanned copy of my driver's license, he copied the back side. Who does that?? Also, there copiers don't accept USB sticks so I had to use the internet to print. OMG. The computer is from the 1980s! It took 10 minutes to load the website and another 10 minutes for the printer to warm up. And you get charged by the minute on the internet. Anyways, never again! read more

Is there such a thing as minus stars? This place has got to be the worse Staples ever. Or Office Supply place for that matter... The tech guy installed a virus into my computer! Which I paid $250 for, thinking he was wiping my computer clean! Then 2 months later they charged me $250 to have it removed! Saying I had a 30 day warranty! Omfg!!! Blows my mind! Best part is when I called their corporate office, they were like...oh installing a virus? But they DID work on your computer right??? Am I on planet of the apes? I have been using this location to print files that I email to their copy center. And I've had enough. They are incompetent and rude as heck! I email the PDF, provide specific information, and I still get the run around. I get an email saying the job is completed and I show up only to find not what I asked for. If you send in a color file and say "print as is" you also have to say "print in color"... Fine. But then they have also given my orders away. Do they not check identification?? Then instead of reprinting, ask me to re-email. So frustrating. Should be a breeze, but I guess that's asking to much when they clearly are not happy with their job. You have to hold their hand and put up with their attitude. read more

This store is so conveniently located, so...I keep going there in spite of many disappointments, fouled up print orders, etc. I was in a hurry today, and my home fax wasn't working. No problem, says I. Whip on over to Staples, surely there won't be a problem sending a simple fax. Wrong again, after troubleshooting the source of the problem, I found it on the Staples end. Rather than waste my time trying to find the manager or an employee, I drove on down the road to Office Max, where they always come though. Fax sent, business finished in less than ten minutes. Courteous, friendly, available staff. Happy customer -- that would be me. If all you need is a few pens, or a ream of paper - fine. If your needs are the least bit complex, and you need or want staff assistance, you take your chances. You may find someone great to help you. You may not. Complex print jobs, go elsewhere. Now I know why this Staples is a 2 Star business. Employees know nothing about customer service and have even worse higher punk "Supervisors" I was here Saturday and bought some poster boards for my sister. Went back to return one that wasn't needed today and didn't have my receipt. I wasn't looking for my money back, I would have been fine with store credit. The Team Supervisor Michael wanted to argue with me and tell me he couldn't give me any kind of refund because the poster rang up $0. I've returned ink cartridges, paper, even folders without a receipt. He continued to tell me I used a coupon and that's why it rang up $0. I tried telling him I did not use a coupon and before I could finish my sentence he cuts me off and says "yes you did". Are you kidding me?? I made sure to get his name and know his position before I left. I left the poster board out front and hopefully someone who needs it takes. This review pertains to the copy center. I ordered some business cards online and the fact that they came out nice and promptly, gives this location a 2-star rating instead of 1. But when I went to pick them up, I wasn't very pleased. there were two people in front of me. One customer was there picking up his order that had to be redone after a mistake was made and the other was trying to get some kind of price readjustment. I was waiting for a long while, when a manager came to the area. I thought he was going to help out, but his presence was just a tease. When I finally received some attention, the employee wasn't rude but seemed to just hate life. I get this feeling from employees the few times I've actually been to Staples, that they're not treated very well because they're miserable or at least act like they are. If I want gloom and doom, I'll just bask in my own. no thanks Staples. read more

There are about 50 employees and no one to help. It took numerous attempts to get help with the "self help" printing station. When I finally walked around the counter and grabbed the employee in the printing section who had been ignoring us, he was rude and condescending. I had already agreed to a non negotiable $5 charge and when the print broke, all he could tell me is that it would have to be restarted and I was pretty much out $5. Very disappointing. I was charged and told also that it would take over night to get 2 11x17" PDF files printed. I took my business to Office Depot. read more

DISGUSTING! I went in to purchase a binder and kicked something in the back isle. I looked down and there was a 5 inch long cockroach!!! I went to the front to tell an employee and when I informed her that it was laying on it's back in isle 15 she shrugged it off and said "oh well". Nice staples... I stopped at this Staples to look for a Cross Morph refill, and the rack was almost empty. The whole store is poorly merchandised, as if they do not even have a merchandising manager. To top it off, an employee looked at me and simply ignored me. Avoid this Staples at all cost. read more

Associate Alex in the printing Department went above and beyond to help me out with my printing needs for my office. We needed Flyers on nice shiny paper and he helped me out and even helped with my little details. Store was about to close but he still went and did the extra details I needed. Visit: 12/03/09 Ridiculous service! And this is referring to the customer service rep AND supervisor. I needed to purchase some pens and I asked the CSR if this location accepts expired rewards coupons from my ink recycling. I was told yes, but was not told that if I do not use the full amount of the specific monthly reward then I would lose it. Normally other locations would give me a credit voucher back for any rewards I did not use. If I was told before the CSR scanned my rewards print out then I would have just paid for my $4 pens in cash and rather with my reward voucher. So the rep rings me up and scans my coupon, then the supervisor came and did an override to accept the expired coupon. Right in front of me, he speaks to his employee in a very demeaning way expressing how dumb she was in not telling me that I had to use the full amount of the reward or lose it. The supervisor then speaks to me and says I have to use the full amount or lose the rest of my rewards money when I just heard in front of me that it was the store's fault for not notifying me that I needed to use my FULL reward amount. I asked if I could just have my recycling voucher back and pay cash and he says no. I ask if I could get a credit since it was his store's fault for the screw up...he says no. So I end up buying another $15 worth of useless junk just to spend it. Supervisor never apologized once whatsoever for the inconvenience or belittling his employee in front of me. I wouldn't be surprised if she quit that job soon because of that rude and offensive supervisor. Don't expect great service especially from the management at this location! read more

I love coming to this place. I managed to park in the shade and find all my items without help once I darkened the door. I had trouble finding the Sharpies since 2 unattended carts had blocked the way but, alas, I found those great pens. One extra star for the inventory! My favorite time is the cattle checkout. There is a sign telling you to stand in line (truly not my favorite thing) and I waited with the others. I told them to get a good look and listen while the manager with a permanent sad, overworked face ran around the counters. There were 2 employees at checkout and they never fail to disappoint. Each time they call a new customer, they announce, "next in line!" What a cold way to call all the cattle. No customer service here. In fact, what's the point in asking the 4 or 5 employees wandering the floor for help? Still I love Staples because they always remind me of the value of good, personal service and what it looks like to be the contrary. read more

Poor experience with disgruntled staff. Placed an order for business cards to be picked up that day (per their guarantee, I ordered an hour before their deadline of 2:00 pm). By five pm I hadn't received an email or call, so I contacted them. Got the run-around from a woman named Lupe and was told that no orders had been received all day, even though I had a confirmation email and order number. When they finally agreed to print, I rushed in before closing. Lupe made zero effort at customer service. When I requested my receipt (which I need to track my finances as a freelancer -- hence the biz cards in the first place) she held it up and said, "You already paid for this. Do you really need the receipt?" Yeah, Lupe, I do. Later, upon looking at the receipt, I clearly saw the timeline: order placed at 1:00 pm, order started at 1:24 pm. So someone knew orders had been coming in that day and attempted to fill them -- even if they pretended otherwise since the work wasn't completed or forgotten until I called. Whole vibe of the place is just rude and unhelpful. I appreciate this is not the most exciting job in the world, but no need to make the customers feel uncomfortable or unwanted with bad attitudes. read more

Good evening on Saturday June 30th, after 2pm, I was inside Staples, making a purchase. I noticed a Supervisor name Josh., who was helping a older male adult, with a return or exchange. Josh was loud and rude by talking loud so that other customers could hear his conversation. He continued to say that this was the third or fourth time you have done this, referring to a return or exchange. I believe it was unprofessional to speak so loud that customers around the area could hear. It was no need to embarrass the man. Send Josh back to some training. read more

The service I received from a young woman named Autumn at the Copy Center was outstanding. The store itself is a bit understaffed and would do well to hire additional cashiers, but Autumn gets a full 5 stars. I needed two custom stamps made during a very busy afternoon, and she managed to cover another shift, train Amber, a fellow worker, and fill my order, all while maintaining a pleasant and professional attitude. Probably the worst Staples I've visited. It's dirty, it has empty shelves and not many selections. I used the bathroom with my two kids and the bathroom was dirtier than even gas station bathrooms. Why they need to guard it with a security code is beyond me. There was no toilet paper, the trash bins were overflowing, the sink had crusted dirt in it, it was disgusting! Yuck! read more

Saw an ad for one cent Samsung Galaxy Four. My phone had a broken on/off switch so I had been looking around. This was the best deal I could find. Just had to pay tax on the phone. Josh helped us and we found him to be very smart and super helpful. He had to spend quite a bit of time with us because I didn't think about downloading my pictures and contacts as well as notes before we went to the store. He made sure all my data was switched over to the new phone. It was the nicest experience I have had getting a new phone. read more

This review is specifically for the copy center. I went to print a handful of pages off a USB drive. At first, the xerox machine told me it couldn't read the file I had selected. I went back and tried again. It printed my four pages just fine, but when I tried to print an additional page from that same document, I got an endless spinning wheel as the machine tried to process my request. I asked the copy center worker for assistance. He suggested I try on a different machine, told me to come get him if I had anymore difficulties, and if my troubles persisted, he would print the page off of something else. I tried the other machine. This one told me it couldn't read the file I selected. When I went back and tried again, it couldn't even detect my USB drive. During this issue, the previously helpful staff member left either on break or for the day. Didn't say anything to me as he walked by, even though things clearly were not going smoothly. I tried to cancel my job request on this second machine. It got stuck with another spinning wheel of death in the process of cancelling. I tried the third and final working machine with the same result. Revisited the first machine that had managed to get me four of the five pages I needed. That one could no longer read my file. Meanwhile, the second machine remained stuck in the process of cancelling my job request. Since the copy center guy never came back, I went to the only cashier working and mentioned that I was concerned about the frozen machine, since it had my credit card information stored for that print job. I wanted to make sure when the job finally cancelled, my transaction would be closed out without my card being charged. The employee insisted it would not be, but made no effort to get anyone to check on the machine. This should have been a painless 5 minute print job. It turned into a 45 minute headache. Definitely going to a FedEx copy center next time. read more

A statement from the manager of Staples at 3660 Colorado Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91107 Store Number: 0616 How could product cost around $900 compares to a $35,000 car !! Worst of all the store won't sell any computer after 8 PM before the manager said it will take 90 minutes to process the purchased regardless. He will have a technical professional sit down with you one on one to explain and making sure you are buying a right computer that fits you needs. I said to the manager I know exactly what I need from a computer and I just want to pay and take the computer home. The manager still insisted of not selling me a computer. Every interaction I have with the copy center is great. I get what exactly what I need and they go out of there way to make sure my order is right. I regularly come here because of the convenient location. Unfortunately, that's the only draw. The staff is incompetent at best. And it's not their fault. Management does not properly train them or prepare them to respond to customer inquiries or perform their tasks adequately. It is a shame!! I regret stepping foot in here each time. Complete disgrace. And the manager with her unprofessionally long, spikey, matte blue nails and glitter...what the heck?! Pull it together. You're the MANAGER. Be professional if you want respect. But the bottom line is, they need to do their job properly and TRAIN THEIR STAFF to respond correctly to customer inquiries and requests. I can't stand coming here anymore. I swear. I'm either going to stick to online only or find another location or go back to the less ideal Office Depot location I previously frequented. Or better yet, attempt to utilize Costco business services instead. I can't say enough BAD things about this place. I'm going to take it up with corporate too. The staff is a revolving door of inept people who just need some guidance and proper training. They can do the job, they are just not given the tools to do it right by the upper level folks.
