What a relief!! Alan and his team came to our rescue when our Apple crashed. Within a couple of days we were back in business....literally! They presented us with solid options at very competitive rates. We opted to upgrade our hard drive to a solid state hard drive and it's been fantastic! More efficient, more quiet and no more moving parts making it in the long run much more reliable. Alan even stayed after closing hours for us to pick up our computer from their shop. Sadly, that type of service doesn't happen often in Los Angeles!! So grateful to have them here in Sierra Madre. Will not hesitate in returning to Foothill Tek again, and highly recommend that you do the same. read more

Great service and friendly staff. They hooked me up with a computer fix and while I was there I realized they did Home Theater installs, which I needed. They gave me a quote that beat the others I had, they came and installed the next week. Awesome dudes! read more

My pc laptop's battery was not charging and I couldn't determine if it was the charging cord or the portal. I took my pc here and within 5 minutes they told me it was likely my charging cord. Didn't charge me. Could have charged me. I am a huge fan. As it turns out, I ordered a new charging cord and they were spot on with their diagnosis. I would return in a flash with another pc issue! read more

Peter Cruz. Owner of Foothill Tek is the most disrespectful business owner I have ever met. He is never open. Never responds to clients. Total scam artist. I would not recommend this business you will regret it and have nothing but headaches. I have bought many products from Peter just wanting to shop local. Never get what you paid for and he never produces warranty's for any of the products. read more

FoothillTek - Foothill Tek - IT Services & Computer Repair Near Me - Sierra Madre, California

My MacBook Pro's screen went black. I wondered if it could be repaired and decided to try the new computer repair place in town, Foothill Tek. I wanted to repair it if I could (even at 10 yrs old). But the Graphics Card had died and there was no hope. Bummer! Especially when you're an entrepreneur who runs her business out of that box! Peter and Brendan helped me get up and running in a few days. I purchased a used 15" MacBook Pro from them with several accessories. And they were able to remove all the essentials from my old hard drive and upload them to my new one. I'm now back in business. For something that could have been SUPER painful, it was relatively painless. I highly recommend them! Especially if your knowledge of computers is limited, like mine. read more

I went to talk to one of the technicians to fix my laptop which was not booting up. He quoted me for $160 for the job so I had him fixed it. A couple of hours passed and he called me to pick it up and tried to boot it up and it worked. I didn't check everything or details on my laptop because it has been recovered to factory setting and all my files are gone. A week passed and I tried to play my games and I always use NVidia GEF0RCE for graphics due to its excellent speed. I talked to Peter , the owner and he fixed it. Good customer service, very kind and smart. Aside from being honest, this guy is trustworthy. Don't hesitate to use their service and I assure you they can fix it in one day. read more

I am so grateful to Peter for helping me with my computer recently. I appreciate the job he did and not having to pay and arm and leg. He also fixed something for me recently and didn't even charge me. Woohoo! It is also comforting to know that we have Foothill Tek within walking distance. No need to go anywhere else. read more

Do not go here! They never answer your calls or emails and are never there. Very unprofessional! If I could I would leave zero stars not worth time or money here go elsewhere!!!!! read more

This store has poor customer service. When I gave my phone to the man he did not fix the problem and broke my home button. Then, he blamed the home button problem on me. He offered no solution to or problem and now my phone is more broken than it was before. Additionally, atmosphere of the store is unwelcoming. I will not be taking my business here ever again. Would give 0 stars if I could. read more

I don't care if you live in Santa Monica or in Claremont, Peter and the gang at Foothill Tek are the best! I had an AV installation from 2005 that Peter quickly assessed and modernized with wonderful new equipment. He took a giant shopping bag of obsolete wires out of my system and made it 2014 compatible. As a result of his work, I got more ease of use with my expansive AV system. Nothing phases Peter and his able colleague Sharif. There are many photos on his shop wall from celebrities that Peter has helped over the years that contain love notes. After you work with Peter, you'll love him too! Make sure you call these guys. I use them for computer repair and iphone/android glass repair as well. read more

Foothill Tek has saved me multiple times. They've fixed my computers, and my iphone. I tried going to apple today and Verizon and it was going to cost me an arm and a leg. Peter took care of me right away and saved me $100's of dollars!!! Thank you Peter Cruz and Foothill Tek!!!! read more

Peter responded to my request on our local Facebook forum. My techie husband was quite impressed with his knowledge. My husband took the computer to him on Thursday morning and continued to be impressed. Despite having to order a new battery, the computer was ready on Friday afternoon. Such a wonderful experience! (And the price charged was quite reasonable.) read more

Best service. My iPad crack. It was small but still a crack. I dropped it off Fri late afternoon and they had it ready by Sat AM. Both times I was in there they were helping other people and you can tell they really care and take pride. Outstanding customer service. Prices are totally reasonable for the work they do. Go now. I had FoothillTek upgrade the 256 GB SSD in my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) to a 1 TB SSD. I ended up with 2 internal SSD's while booting off of the larger. The job was done successfully and on time. All software worked correctly after the job was completed. I am very happy with the process. read more

Sorry guys but your service sucked. I took my laptop in for repair and was told that to order and replace the defective part should take no more than a week. After a month went by and multiple unreturned phone calls, I collected my laptop unrepaired and took it to the Apple store. Whether the part arrived or not there was zero communication. I have a small business and I always try to support local small businesses but this one needs to improve before I return. read more

Hats off to these guys! My MacBook Pro was blacking out with increasing frequency, and I didn't want to take it to the Apple store where they would likely wipe out the hard drive. Foothill Tek, took my computer on Friday afternoon and had it fixed by Saturday afternoon. I recommend them to anyone for PC repairs. read more

My son bought a "cool" case instead of using his Lifeproof case and promptly dropped his phone. FoothillTek was heat and promptly fixed his screen in a very professional and friendly way. Would highly recommend them (although I hope my kids never break their phones again). read more

My laptop completely quit on me recently. I took it in to FoothillTek and the tech there immediately looked it over and let me know that I'd need a new main board. Given that it was over 5 years old he suggested it would be better just to buy another. He gave me advice on how to retrieve my files from the old hard drive which was still working fine. Then, he gave me advice about what to look for in a new computer. He spent probably 20minutes or more on my problem and patiently answered every one of my dumb questions. Whenever I have computer issues in the future, my first stop will be Foothilltek. He really helped me out. read more

I had my laptop panel replaced here. I requested an IPS panel for my laptop and they replaced it with a panel that is not IPS. Good thing this laptop is on its way out anyway, but I will not bring my business here again. Should have just fixed it myself. read more

So I just experienced the best customer service possible. I'm not sure if yelp allows enough words to truly explain the story so I will keep it as short and to the point as I can. I will visit FoothillTek on a regular basis from now on. It started as a regular Xmas holiday skit where the husband waits too long to buy that cool item for the wife. Something that will get her creative juices flowing again to remind her that she is talented and awesome. This story usually ends with a "sorry, I tried and it's the thought that counts" line that evokes a smile when I tell her of my intentions weeks later. But this was no ordinary day. Not if Collin at FoothillTek has something to say about it. The item I was looking for was something they shouldnt even carry but I was a desperate man. So after I hung up and started to google another place my phone rang again. It was Collin. He just so happened to know someone at the manufactures office and he could make a little call for me if I really wanted the item. Two hours later and it is now in my hands. I can't even tell you all how amazing this was. Please go here for everything you can, I want them to be in business forever. Thanks Collin!! read more

Peter was able to help me when no other computer repair company could. I wish I had taken my son's computer straight to him. After my son spilled water on his laptop, I took it to a very popular computer repair company in Pasadena. I was told that none of his data could be recovered and was recommended to call "Drivesavers"in Novato, CA. They were going to charge a minimum of $700. A friend recommended Foothill Tek and Peter was able to retrieve all of his data and for a great price! I highly recommend Foothill Tek for any of your computer needs. read more
