My pc laptop's battery was not charging and I couldn't determine if it was the charging cord or the portal. I took my pc here and within 5 minutes they told me it was likely my charging cord. I went to talk to one of the technicians to fix my laptop which was not booting up. He quoted me for $160 for the job so I had him fixed it. A couple of hours passed and he called me to pick it up and tried to boot it up and it worked. I didn't check everything or details on my laptop because it has been recovered to factory setting and all my files are gone. A week passed and I tried to play my games and I always use NVidia GEF0RCE for graphics due to its excellent speed. I talked to Peter , the owner and he fixed it. My MacBook Pro's screen went black. I wondered if it could be repaired and decided to try the new computer repair place in town, Foothill Tek. I wanted to repair it if I could (even at 10 yrs old). But the Graphics Card had died and there was no hope. Bummer! Especially when you're an entrepreneur who runs her business out of that box! Peter and Brendan helped me get up and running in a few days. I purchased a used 15" MacBook Pro from them with several accessories. And they were able to remove all the essentials from my old hard drive and upload them to my new one. I'm now back in business. This store has poor customer service. When I gave my phone to the man he did not fix the problem and broke my home button. Then, he blamed the home button problem on me. I had an AV installation from 2005 that Peter quickly assessed and modernized with wonderful new equipment. He took a giant shopping bag of obsolete wires out of my system and made it 2014 compatible. As a result of his work, I got more ease of use with my expansive AV system. Nothing phases Peter and his able colleague Sharif. There are many photos on his shop wall from celebrities that Peter has helped over the years that contain love notes. What a relief!! Alan and his team came to our rescue when our Apple crashed. Within a couple of days we were back in business....literally! They presented us with solid options at very competitive rates. We opted to upgrade our hard drive to a solid state hard drive and it's been fantastic! More efficient, more quiet and no more moving parts making it in the long run much more reliable. Alan even stayed after closing hours for us to pick up our computer from their shop. Sadly, that type of service doesn't happen often in Los Angeles!! So grateful to have them here in Sierra Madre. I had FoothillTek upgrade the 256 GB SSD in my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) to a 1 TB SSD. I ended up with 2 internal SSD's while booting off of the larger. The job was done successfully and on time. All software worked correctly after the job was completed. I am very happy with the process. read more

Sorry guys but your service sucked. I took my laptop in for repair and was told that to order and replace the defective part should take no more than a week. After a month went by and multiple unreturned phone calls, I collected my laptop unrepaired and took it to the Apple store. Whether the part arrived or not there was zero communication. I have a small business and I always try to support local small businesses but this one needs to improve before I return. read more

My laptop completely quit on me recently. I took it in to FoothillTek and the tech there immediately looked it over and let me know that I'd need a new main board. Given that it was over 5 years old he suggested it would be better just to buy another. He gave me advice on how to retrieve my files from the old hard drive which was still working fine. Then, he gave me advice about what to look for in a new computer. He spent probably 20minutes or more on my problem and patiently answered every one of my dumb questions. So I just experienced the best customer service possible. I'm not sure if yelp allows enough words to truly explain the story so I will keep it as short and to the point as I can. I will visit FoothillTek on a regular basis from now on. It started as a regular Xmas holiday skit where the husband waits too long to buy that cool item for the wife. Something that will get her creative juices flowing again to remind her that she is talented and awesome.
