I went to the sister location at 1030 E. Green - Pasadena. My issue was my Samsung Notebook needed a new keyboard. I ordered it separately from a legitimate vendor but after taking out the back, I knew the install was above my pay scale and I didn't want to damage my system. I did a query on Yelp and several vendors responded. One, who I won't mention marginalized my purchase claiming it was about $20 (which it wasn't) and "probably" was the wrong unit and it would be an incredible work-around to fix. Anyway, i134 assured me they could handle the install. Bottom-line, I took in the unit and several hours later - presto.....new keyboard was installed and I was back in business. I've spent a lot of time composing this review because in my experience most negative reviews of repair based businesses tend to boil down to people being mad that things cost money to fix, I waited several days to stop being angry so that I could approach this with enough clarity to help you, the potential customer make a better decision. I had a terrible time with this company. My initial contact with them through yelp went fine but I should have sensed a red flag when I was directed to a retail space operating under a different name (ifixit fast, incidentally a hilariously misleading name as they did neither). Upon dropping my system off with them I was told I would be contacted "in a day or two" with an estimate. THREE WEEKS pass during which time I hear absolutely nothing. I'm trying to be patient as these things can take time and with COVID slowing everything to a crawl I'm really trying to give these guy the benefit of the doubt. I return to the store to have a different technician tell me he had "a funny story" about my system and proceeded to tell me that they had tried several repairs involving ordering multiple parts none of which involved speaking to me. I admit I didn't find this quite as funny as he did. I asked when it would be ready and he said he would call me in "a few days". TEN DAYS later I contacted the business owner through yelp who told me that despite the fact that my phone number appears on the work order and that my phone had been in perfect working order the entire time that they had tried "multiple times" to contact me. For whatever reason their apparent desperate attempts to reach me did not extend to leaving a voicemail if they ever did actually call (which I doubt) or messaging me though yelp where I initially called them from NOR did they mention having difficulty reaching me when I stopped in to inquire about my system. The owner of this business told me to call the store myself to deal with the problem rather than take any action himself. 24 hours passed during which I was at work or the store was closed so I was unable to call them at which time the owner contacted me AGAIN to say that he really wanted this resolved and could I "at least" pick up my system so that it wasn't sitting in their shop. At this point I apologized profusely for inconveniencing him with how long it was taking ME to deal with HIS problem. I understand it can be quite frustrating to have people string you along. I picked up my system well over a month after dropping it off and was no closer to a solution than I had been when I first contacted them, possibly further as I have no idea how much additional damage they may have caused. My advice to any and all folks seeking computer repair would be to do this company a favor and not burden them with your pesky problems. They have no interest in helping you. The staff are either deceitful or impressively incompetent and the management is both rude and shockingly helpless to resolve problems. I have never been treated this way before and probably wouldn't have believed it if I had read it. Don't waste your time here. read more

I was getting a blue screen (WATCHDOG exception) first once every couple of months and then, over the span of a year slowly started happening every week, then every day, then a couple times a day. Only when under stress and, in particular, stress while compiling code. But only sometimes (I compile code all day long). After trying to fix myself (I built the computer), and having NEVER taken a computer in for support in my life (!), I threw a dart at Yelp and chose i134 because they had a location near me in Burbank. Turns out that that location was currently closed (because COVID), but Sam kindly met me in the area so I could give him my computer instead of having me go to their Pasadena location. Because it was a crash that couldn't be reproduced easily, I asked if he could just check out the computer in a general maintenance type of way. Like telling your mechanic the lights come on the car once in a while, but not being able to prove it... I gave it to Sam on a Friday evening after work and he ran it through it's paces over the weekend so that I could have for work Monday morning. Noticing it was running hot, they ended up tweaking some of perhaps too aggressive overclocking settings. That seems to have done the trick. It's been about 1 1/2 months since I got the computer back, and not a single blue screen plus the computer appears to be performing at least as well as it did before. So glad I found Sam. Not just for the diagnostic work, but his willingness to come to Burbank to get the computer (and bring back) plus his willingness to do over the weekend so I didn't need to miss a day of work. My desktop suddenly wouldn't turn on after a restart. I tried everything and nothing. I use it to make a living and needed it that weekend or I'd fall really far behind. I looked around for someone that could make a housecall and sent out requests to several that said they could and i134 not only was the first to respond but the only one that didn't want me to bring it in so they clod figure out what was wrong. I134 Consulting is by far the most professional and reliable IT service that I have ever seen.  Been through a few unprofessional IT companies before so I know how it feels like to have incompetent techs.  So,  all I  needed for my consulting company was some kind of calendaring system but instead I got a complete high tech solution that integrated shared and private calendaring with email,  contacts, notes,  etc.  Everything from my phone,  tablet,  pc and mac was seamlessly integrated. I went to Sam with a laptop that would not start up properly. The laptop had passed all internal hardware tests, so I assumed it was a software issue. Sam went on that assumption and got to work. He fixed my laptop quickly and returned it to me promptly, showing me that it was up and running before returning it. Upon returning home, however, my laptop started acting up again, failing to boot up properly. I called Sam and he told me to bring it back. He got to work on it right away, and what I initially thought was a simple software problem turn out to be a major hardware problem (don't buy a Dell Inspiron laptop!) Sam literally had to rebuild my laptop, backing up everything on there first, and then putting it back on. I know for a fact that it took SEVERAL hours of his time and was a lot of work. When I picked up my laptop the next day, he literally had rebuilt the entire computer, so much so that it feels like an entirely new computer - it is faster, cleaner and just more efficient. Sam could have justifiably charged me way more than the value of the computer just for the hours he put into it, but he instead said he would honor the original price he quoted me (from the work he originally put into it). Integrity is not something you always find in this town, but Sam truly does have it. In addition, he is extremely good at what he does, knowledgeable and affable. I was struggling to find someone to replace a water damaged keyboard on my laptop. I have a 2016 Lenovo X1 Carbon, from looking on Youtube it seemed extremely difficult to fix, you need to remove the inside of the laptop to replace the keyboard, and the keyboard has about 30 individual screw points. Every place I asked either told me the job was too difficult or they didn't seem to know what was involved and just wanted to charge an hourly fee for an unknown number of hours. Sam at i134 was the only one I could find who seemed to both understand what was involved and could give me a real price for the project. We worked out an agreed time, I dropped it off, and within a couple of hours it was done and ready to pick up and was all fixed properly. I found Sam by a friends referral. The company I manage currently has no server to operate from and backup for the softwares that we use. We are a growing plumbing company and need to upgrade our systems, add more computers, and to setup a server so that we can all be connected together to view the company board.
