I went in to get some dry erase markers and such and all was fine till I got in line, a woman came in and she felt fine, she cut through me like the cold in winter, and laid down her troubled printer. The cashier dismissed me and took care of she, this bullshit lady of a low pedigree, with her Karen ways and her "it's all about me". A young lady then waved me through, no smiles to be had, no how de do? I told her it was nice as I thought I was invisible, I didn't go further because she looked quite miserable. I paid a hefty Pasadena 10.25 % tax, poor Pasadena, oh it's sad Honey, with all their parking violation fees and Rosebowl parade they still can't figure out their money. I walked to my car, and had a thought, I hope the lady with the printer had a shitty day, her printer ink explodes and caused her delay. I will try to keep this brief. I was frustrated because I found a floor model of a chair I wanted in the store and was told that since there were no more, I couldn't have that one. I went home and searched for the chair for a long time and even though I had all of the appropriate numbers, the chair wasn't turning up on the Staples website. The chair did show when I googled the name of it. When I tried to put it in my shopping cart at the Staples site, I was told that the chair wasn't available for delivery and wasn't available in the stores. So, I called Staples and was put on hold by the automated system to wait for a live person. Shortly after my birthday (it was a long wait), I hung up and called again. I explained the situation to RAYMOND, the store manager. He handled everything perfectly! I drove to the store and found the floor model waiting at a cash register for me. Horrible service from the cashier, Adriana. Her attitude was very rude. I couldn't find what I needed for quite some time, so I decided to just purchase other items. Adriana asked me if I found everything I wanted. I told her no and proceeded to give more details. Within the 3rd word, she interrupted saying do you need a bag. I said no then attempted to continue. After three more words, she again interrupted to tell me the amount. I asked if she really cared to know the answer to her question on whether I found everything I needed. She just looked at me. I paid and then suggested that she should NOT ask customers if they found everything they needed if she really doesn't care to hear what they have to say. I went to this location to print 10 pages and it took me almost an hour to get it done. I'm usually a very patient person, but the people at the printing station need better customer service skills. Not only did it take them 10 minutes to even acknowledge me, but after asking me what I needed, they interrupted me and directed me to the self-serve. However, I knew my prints needed to be custom printed due to the formatting thus, resulting in an even longer wait Another customer informed them that she needed to make a bigger print of the picture she had in hand, again, they directed her to the self-serve printer. She said, "I need to make the copy of this picture 17 inches" they said, "You can't do that on that printer" to which she replied "that's what I just asked you when I was in line" All in all, printing ten pages should've taken 15 minutes max, not an hour. read more

My boyfriend came here to make copies for work. He waited in line while I browsed. He was told that there was a self service machine which he was aware of. He has one arm, he waited in line for assistance. However, the employee waved him off and insisted he use the self service machine. He asked if the machine did front and back copies. Again, with her back to him, she waved him off and said yes. So he went out of line to a machine and the machine was out of service. We left and went to Office Depot. If you don't want to be at work and do your job, don't rub it off on other people. The rude customer service is inexcusable. read more

I made a print order online and when I went in, they couldn't find it. Then the guy asked me if I picked it up already, which... of course not. He gave me attitude, and I asked for a refund since they didn't have my order. He said he would call immediately for a refund for me. So a couple days later when I didn't see any confirmation of a refund, I called Staples customer service. I asked them if the store had called to request the refund, they had not. They examined the order more and it was noted that the order was completed but abandoned because I didn't want the order anymore. Which is a total lie. Their customer service is a joke. read more

I usually trek down to this location to get my office supplies . So today I had to use the restroom - and I usually wouldn't comment about this but I was absolutely disgusted ! The toilet seat in stale 2 was soiled with fecal matter run " offs" - the 1st stale had an over flowing trash Can and dirty toilet paper all over the floor - I honestly had to rush out of their so I wouldn't throw up from horror ..smell and disgust - I can't help but wonder how the management would allow such fifth. I needed more business cards for my small business and decided to call Staples to see if it was possible to send the pdf and print double sided so I could cut them myself. I was on hold f or about 10 minutes before someone in the copy and print department answered. She sounded like she didn't want to speak to me and told me that I had to just come in and use the self serve printers . I came in ten minutes later to try to see if I could get five color prints double sided on card stock. The self serve printer only uses credit card and I only had cash. I looked around for the copy and print associate and she was way in the back on her cellphone and I had to yell across the room to get her attention . I let her know that I needed help to just get my prints and go. She kept telling me annoyed that I can just use the self serve . I kept going back and forth with her that I needed double sided and card stock . She told me that I needed a card and could just refill it, I asked her much it would be and she said you can put "$1,$2,$3 or whatever "and I kept asking her how much it would be but she was just annoyed . It was really frustrating for me as a customer . I asked her if she could do print for me and she told me that the machine was broken until Monday?!?! It was Saturday night there was no sign anywhere that said machine was down . To me it seemed like she was just rude and lazy . Maybe a sign would be helpful to let your customers know your services aren't available, also she didn't have a name tag . I Went on Monday to the Pasadena Staples to pick up some office supplies-an easel pad I found online for $65.09 for a 2 pack. They had the same item in singles. I asked the young lady in the isle if they would price match the two items for the same price as the two-pack. She said "yes" instructed me to show the cashier the online price and they would match it. The item online is the same exact item I intended to buy along with some other supplies. That's when I met Josh and an idiot by the name of Richard who proceeded to tell me that they are not the same item and that they could not honor the online price. Richard, who simply lacks all forms of basic customer service etiquette proceeded to tell me that he was the store manager upon my request for the manager. Josh and Richard dug their feet in and would not honor what I showed them to be the same item listed. I ended up purchasing the two items and paid $49.95 for each of them. It was late, I had a long day at the office and needed the items for my morning meeting and relented by purchasing them as individual items. These two guys-Josh and Richard are absurd individuals who should be ashamed of themselves to say the least and we're unprofessional, lacking common sense and heavy on being rude. No wonder this piece is dung of a location has such a low YELP review/stars! The actual manager and their regional managers should be ashamed of themselves. I will never go back to this store nor to any other Staples store. I instructed my Comptroller to switch companies today and will take our business elsewhere. read more

Today I went to buy something, I opened the packaging right after the purchase, inside the store to see if it would function and it did not. I got back in line to return it and to my surprise I was not able to return it from less than 10 minutes of purchase.This current "pandemic" is really adding stress to EVERYONE! Staples has really gone down since I remember it seems there never people to help you and inventory is t has great as before

First place I thought of for back to school supplies. They had everything I could ever need: my favorite gel pens, calculator, notebooks, binders, dividers, clear plastic paper protectors and more! Eh some things I knew I could have gotten cheaper elsewhere (ahem Target) but as a one stop shop it did the job. What's up with wide ruled paper, no one likes wide ruled that's why it's on sale cheaper than the 99 cents store! :p Heads up: They charge ten cents for a bag, bring your own! Or just pile everything in your arms like I did and say, "No thanks, I GOT THIS!" ;) Like a BOSS. If you have any inkling of a question just grab the first store personnel you see, it might be a while before they find you in your section since they're spread out in the store. read more

This place has always been a bit unorganized and unwelcoming but every once in a while you get that one person who is willing to help you any way he can, and he actually returns with answers! During my last experience, the guy was very helpful and was helping 3 people at a time but every answer he came back with was negatory, like "nope, we don't carry that" or "I don't know if we do but I don't think so, but I've definitely seen/heard of it!!" or "we can't order online for you in the store". The Alhambra one lets you order online AND use your gift card in that online purchase (because you do it in store). Such an inefficient place! They don't have anything and they can't do a lot of services! How do they stay in business?? AND I found out recently you cant use gift card when you shop online. So dumb. read more

The lady working the printing could care less she was working and was rude the whole time. My wife got so upset she texted me in the car. So I came in and just watched as this lady repeatedly kept barking orders at my wife. Not once asking her or saying can you please... or thank you. I would think BASIC manners would be a requirement. Finally I was fed up and asked her if there was a manager, as she turns away she says up front under her breath. I have to ask her to repeat it. So I go up front where the manager is just standing there counting a drawer. I ask him to come over and help to which he says ok and the. Continues to count out the drawer and clean up the area before he comes to help us because closing was more important. Once he finally comes over I ask who the District manager is and he says lee jfgkks. (Under his breath.) I ask him to spell it to which he repeats the last name, Themis happened twice until I said, can you PLEASE spell it. So Lee Pinkhan (which the assistant manager said is a totally common name and didn't understand why I couldn't spell it... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? The level of professionalism is atrocious!!) worst part is they could care less... So they both walked away from us... we left and won't be back. I drove from the Best Buy nearby and simultaneously called this store on speaker while driving...I was already at the store by the time anyone actually picked up. So ridiculous considering I called to save myself the trip. I figured they'd pick up by the time I left the Best Buy parking lot but it just kept going on the pre recorded system. They only carry Logitech keyboards priced way higher than I've seen anywhere else online or in store. And like 2 of the higher priced Microsoft keyboards, one on "sale" which was still higher priced than online. Their selection runs the range of mid to high priced. They had only two ergonomic keyboards, both priced over $80. Didn't even bother to carry best-selling ones in the $35 range as at Best Buy (they ran out and I was desperate to get one immediately on my lunch break). Not sure if they price match, didn't want to spend another minute in store. Not a place to buy tech, don't waste your time and money - stick to office supplies at this Staples. There was one person on register and one person on the floor and nobody could even help me properly once I got in store let alone over the phone. read more

If you order something online for in-store pickup that's not already in the store, they will email you when it ships to the store, but not when it's ready to pick up. So then after you've waited for a while, if it's not something you need right away, you forget all about it until they email you a satisfaction survey. So then, when you go to the store to pick it up, they will tell you it's marked as having already been picked up, and you get to stand there for 40 minutes while they figure out how to give you the refund. I'm currently shopping for a printer, I expect to spend about $500 on it, but because these morons jacked me around on $10 worth of office supplies, I will not be buying my printer or anything else from them ever again. read more

Met Tonya the ever helpful gal who was able to get yellow file folders shipped to my home at no cost, and got me a deal with their matching price offer on file lables. Best day ever at Staples. Hello. In the current environment we're in regarding face masks, I want to share what happened to me today in this store. Since my home computer isn't working properly I went in to use Staples computer for important business. When I went to the computer rental area I was greeted my a nice employee to assist me. The credit card machine had to be reset to get started. In the meantime the employee scanned a document for me that I needed to email. I was finally able to insert my card and began working. This process took about 15 minutes and the employee never once mentioned anything about a mask which I was not wearing since I left it at home. Moments later another employee approached me and ask is I had a mask, I said no. Another moment later the sales manager (Hector) approached and told me to leave the store since I had no mask. He said that if I didn't go immediately he would call the police. His approach from the very beginning was very disrespectful and completely bullish. At this point he had put me in a defensive attitude so I told him I would be finished in two minutes. He then began to unplug the computer so I said ok, I'll sign out. I told him that his employee had helped me for 15 minutes and never mentioned a mask. I ask him for the $2.96 that I was charged for the computer time and he refused to give it to me. He then went on to tell me that it was a state law to wear a mask which it is not. I've been to several stores here in Pasadena, CA where masks were not being worn, including my doctors office just yesterday. When I made him aware of this he then lied and said he told me it was Staples rules, not state. By the way, Hector would not tell me his last name. In conclusion, this manager was very rude, dishonest and using his "authority" to bully and embarrass in front of several other customers close by. He should be fired! read more

I stopped in today to pick up a few items for a presentation that I will be attending and James was first to assist me with finding me the folders needed for that. As I was getting ready to check out I also picked up a few to-do note pads...at $1.99 can't go bad! Marneli assisted me with my check out and Also signed me up for Rewards Points Program. She explained how the program works and advised me of the survey at the bottom of the receipt and how I could win a chance at $500 in Gift Cards. Then I walked across to the Print/Copy center where David assisted me in printing out something from my email directly. He made it so easy and clear and even helped me with the Entire process so as Not to mess up my work. I had bought Special Paper to use and he loaded it for me into the copy machine, which I thought was Very NICE OF HIM! I advised Hector whom was working with David that the Customer Service was Outstanding in this location. Enrique the Store Manager should be extremely proud of his staff and store.
