The young man in the print shop is fantastic. His name is Tre and he helped me with a complicated printing/scanning project. There were so many people who needed his help and he was short-handed; but always kept my project in the works. They really need to hire more people in the print department. If I had been Tre, I probably would have had a melt-down. He was very calm and pleasant. He's helped me many times before and I decided to finally Yelp about him. read more

Worst service and experience EVER! Went there at 7:55 on a Saturday night and they wouldn't let us in because they were "closed" even though there was 5 minutes left. So we went back to our car and drove down to Stater Bros. as we were crossing the street, the same girl who wouldn't let us in the store almost ran us over with her car and had the audacity to flip us off! I will drive farther to give my business elsewhere. Not worth it. read more

I normally don't review chains, but this store seemed to stand out for all of the wrong reasons. On a Saturday the store seemed to be partially blocked off at every other aisle with stock replenishment or product on the floor or in the wrong place. Service personnel didn't seem to be very friendly or available. Not sure if this is a staffing issue or just a company culture, but I'm pretty sure in this economy that this isn't the image that Staples wants to convey. read more

Staples in general is not a bad establishment, however this particular staples has long lines and very little customer service. When looking for a computer desk, no employee offered me any assistance. I just eventually grabbed the desk I wanted and carried it to the front on my own walking past several employees who continued ignore me. To make matters worse when I got home to build the desk I found that the desk did not come with instructions. Being too stubborn to return it I eventually assembled it, after many hours of trial and error. Long story short I will not be purchasing any more furniture from staples. read more

I went here because we needed some envelopes. I was surprised by just how much stuff they have - some very nice. I'm not an office supply kind of guy but I found it very interesting to wander through this store. They have a lot of interesting things. Things that you probably didn't know existed and things that you didn't know you wanted. The prices seem reasonable. read more

Poor customer service. The staff is very robotic and cold. I went there to buy a chair that was close to 300.00 with tax. They were out of stock. Last time I got a chair there was about 3 years ago. The were out of stock. The first time they sold me the floor model at discounted price. This time they didn't give me discount. Since it is used I feel that paying full price was not a fair price. They should have discounted it by at least 40 bucks or something. I bought it anyway since I need it for tomorrow. Disappointing experience. read more

I had a very difficult time locating replacement ink cartridges for my Lexmark printer. As always I didn't want to order it on line because I procrastinated and needed it now. After several hours of calling local print stores, I was able to get what I needed from staples located at 2150 Vista way Oceanside, CA. I called the store to ensure they carried the specific item I needed and spoke to an associate named "Brad". Brad was very courteous and professional the second he picked-up the phone. After I informed him of my needs, he said to me, "I have to check and see, can you please hold?" at which I said I could. After about a minute or so, he came back on the phone and indicated that it would take a little longer since he did not see the specific product on the shelf and he would have to go the stock room to locate the product. As I was on hold I suddenly got disconnected. However, when I called back, the female associate immediately knew who I was by name and apologized for the accidental disconnection. Once Brad confirmed that he had the product I needed I went to the store and specifically asked for him. He had my products ready and I thanked him for his outstanding customer service. In addition, I asked to speak to his manager which he called over to me and I informed her that Brad did an outstanding job in fulfilling my request and his customer service skills was impeccable. I love to write glowing reviews because so many folks on Yelp just love to bitch and complain about the most inane things. I read one with 3 stars and the complaint was the store was too small or no parking? Completely unacceptable and absurd. So I had some difficulty with my HP laptop, I took it in. They were kind, helpful and courteous from start to finish. Honestly its been a little while since I had such service in a big chain store. But the first person I spoke to by phone was Anthony, he was helpful and professional I asked if I could do paperwork by phone and run in to literally drop it off. He was accommodating. I made and received a handful of calls with Alex, Brad and Dimitri all very cool and were obviously working as a team on my project. They flushed the virus and cleaned the machine offering very helpful suggestions while remaining friendly and thorough. I really appreciate this kind of attention to detail and not getting lost in the shuffle. I'm not a nig chain store but I hate electronics so I would go to these guys again any time and tell a friend! read more

I went to this Staples in Oceanside looking for some compressed air to clean out my computer, which was running too hot. I had unhooked the computer and brought it with me to hopefully get some information on how to take the side panel off and get to the fans. Anthony, the tech guy at the desk there, not only showed me how to do that, he took the panel off himself and used his electrical compressor to clean out my computer on the spot. No charge! This is how good word of mouth gets around. It seems like not enough businesses know this these days. read more

This review mostly concerns the print services. The service at the print center can be spotty, however, over the last year they have had several employees there that have customer service and intelligence skills way ABOVE anything you could reasonably expect from a retail store. So, overall its good because most of the time you get someone beyond helpful -- just don't get in a situation where you need something right away because murphy's law will go into operation and that will be the day that someone foolish is there. The self-serve copying facility is great, never had a problem with the equipment or supplies unlike some places where they are sometimes broken down. read more

Awful yesterday. Just awful . Went for some office supplies and a shredder and possibly more. Things moved around AGAIN. And a huge portion of store devoted to weird stuff now- medical supplies, scrubs, coffee supplies,snacks. Wtf? We came for office supplies - I am a nurse myself but would never buy scrubs here or band aids for double the price of Walmart . Looked for items for over 20minutes- not once got asked if I needed help . Why? Um- not enough employees- finally got my stuff up to cashier - one going- understandable since hardly any customers- and the cashier had over charged previous shopper. Now waiting and waiting and waiting for manager. Nope - you guessed it- left my stuff and went over to Walmart where apparently I should've gone on the first place!!! Sorry staples- tried to support you but you've gone wrong- terribly wrong . Good luck keeping in business . Know I won't be back . read more

The only reason I gave one star was because there were at least employees IN the store, and because I didn't have the option of putting zero. Every time I need office supplies I think of Staples. As a company they are good, as an individual store representing Staples, this store falls flat. I needed a stamp made, apparently takes 3 days. When I finally get called that it's ready, the stamp is wrong. Somehow though, they made a new stamp right there on the spot. If you need to call in to check and see if they carry something, expect to wait 5 minutes for someone to even ANSWER the phone. It may take longer for someone to pick up though, I actually just gave up at 5 minutes and hung up. Good luck going in as well, hopefully you know what you need and where it is, because the employees seem so miserable you don't even want to approach them. These guys did a fantastic job on a last minute job we needed. Our printer provider had some last minute issues and literally the morning of the event we found out. These guys were able to get us our programs printed and bound just in time for the ceremony. They looked great - I can't say thank you enough!!! read more

I recently purchased an HP Photosmart 5520 printer on 11/8/2012 from your Oceanside, California store for $99. I just found the same product at Walmart, Fry's and Best Buy at $79. I called your store to see if I could get a price adjustment and credit on my purchase. I was advised that the return policy and price adjustment policy expirres after 14 days! While, I was advised and noted that your policy is noted on the back of your receipts, I was surprised it was such a stringent period of time, considering your competitors offer a 30 day price adjustment and return policy. I will in future do my computer/electronic purchases at other(s) stores rather than Staples, which afford better customer services and a more reasonable and industry standard policies on returns and adjustments. read more

The checkout line at this location is always too long, or too slow. More than once I've left items in a display and just walked out rather than continue waiting. This location recently rearranged where everything is located which has made it difficult to find the items I buy regularly. Spending extra time trying to hunt down what I need just adds to the frustration. Employees all seem nice enough. Just wish the store was more convenient. read more

RE: Tech. Dept. The employees are helpful & appear to be knowledgeable, Have had my computer svcd. there several times. As there are only a couple of employees in the dept., works backs up & they've kept my computers for 5-10 days each time. Cannot get a same-day answer re: computer issues--they scan the computer & if anything shows up, you're required to leave the computer for several days...each time has resulted in over a week. Twice in 2 years I've been told that the hard drive that they sold me needs to be replaced. read more
